  1. Gee whiz - Let's see - unable to leave your quarantine room for 14 days (even prisoners often get 1 hour per day outside), having to clean your room yourself, having to change the bedding yourself, having to eat in your room, and then when released you still can't eat in a restaurant, the bars and all entertainment venues are closed, stores and shopping malls are open under restricted hours, you can't stop in anywhere for a cup of coffee unless you take it away, there's nowhere to go to have a nice breakfast, you can't enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner unless you buy a bottle of wine in a shop and eat and drink in your hotel room, if you are not wearing your face mask every time you set foot outside your room you are subject to a 20,000 baht fine, you can't swim in your hotel's pool because the pools are all closed, it is difficult to travel out of the province where you are staying and then return, you can't visit any museums or historical sites, everything closes by 9:00pm - and some even earlier. Other than that, what's the problem . . . ?

  6. I would not be shocked if I learned that a young Thai man used some of the cash I sent him to have fun. Unlike many westerners, who primarily concern themselves with how many assets they have gathered right up until they draw their last breath, Thai culture has always been more concerned with fun in the moment. And it's not fun unless it's in a social context. Thais don't care to enjoy themselves alone--if that's even possible--and more they like to eat alone. In fact, I'd be glad he got some joy from my gift. Many, if not most, of the guys we meet know poverty from childhood. They come to BKK or Pattaya to escape it and send some of their earnings back home in the time honored tradition. But they're also young and place a high priority of celebrating their youth with their buddies. And as we are constantly reminded, you're only young once. Those guys from Thailand (or any of the other SE Asian nations whose sons gravitate to Thailand) who ask us for something aren't robbing us like the man in the OP who used coercion in one form or another. They're just taking a chance and asking. If we choose to demand a litmus test, it becomes a transaction instead of a gift. No, I'm not advocating sending off cash on a whim to someone I've never met. But I am talking about young men we have come to know; those who made our lives more bearable because they didn't reject us out of hand as many in our own country would. If there was ever a time in our world we might see our way free to return the favor, this very well might be that time.

  8. Much has changed since the OP nearly two months ago. More than 700 have died and countless numbers driven from their homes. As the military cracked down on media working inside the country, an increasing amount of news has been coming from afar. The following video, however, shows what it's like on the ground. The faces of the victims tell us more than can be conveyed by words alone. From CNN / MSN Fighting between Myanmar's military and armed ethnic groups is moving so close to the border it can be seen from Thailand. While a leader from the Karen National Liberation Army says their small victories against the junta can help the country-wide push for democracy, it comes at a cost to people living near the border. CNN's Paula Hancocks reports. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/rare-footage-shows-gun-battle-at-myanmar-thailand-border/vi-BB1gda17

However, I do book for 2 and do not mind registering someone if needed. The rooms are small but the staff is excellent. https://www.gayguides.com/listing/jw-marriott-hotel/

  11. YOUR LOCAL BRAZILIAN GAY BAR NEEDS YOU! What will you be doing this coming May Day? Sitting at home, counting the days until lockdown is lifted? Driving your tank past the Kremlin? Whatever the answer... if you fancy some good old Brazilian sexy fun then let me direct you to Fortaleza's Barbarizou online offering... which this month is called HOT OFFICE (I think they're giving it a "workers" theme for Labour Day) It all starts at 6pm (PDT), 9pm (EDT) and 2am Sunday (UK). If you haven't joined in before... it's a great big ZOOM meeting... but instead of 3 hours with Karen from Finance... it's a live cavalcade of Brazilian gogoboys and porn stars stripping, wanking and having sex. This month features Lagoa's favourite gogoboy Lucas Alves, who will likely be stripping from his dressing-up room at his house. Pornstars Allan Carlos (aka Irmao Dotado's Jean Carlos) and Daniel Cadengue (aka Hotboys and Meninos Online Kadu Nunes) will probably be going a bit further. As the night goes on, it all gets a lot more "sexo". And eventually towards the end, you get some of the more extrovert members of the audience joining in with their own "leite" tributes. It's all a bit of a hoot... it's all a bit "organized chaos"... and it's all very Brazilian. More information here: https://www.facebook.com/barbarizou Tickets available from here (they work out around $6 or £5): https://www.sympla.com.br/live-hot-office---barbarizou__1197135 (I think the Portuguese instructions are easy to follow... name, surname, email... choose "ingresso No1" from the drop-down box... make sure you click to pay with an international credit card... it's all safe and secure) No, you don't need to turn your camera on! DISCLAIMER: I'm not involved in organising this - I've just been a viewer a few times.

  15. From Popular Science This cryptic megalithic site is thousands of years old, but its origin story is still not fully known Nestled in the mountain ridges and hilly slopes of northern Laos lies one of archaeology’s greatest mysteries. Strewn across about 30 square miles, in seemingly random formation, are thousands of large stone jars. Popularly called Laos’s Plain of Jars, this unique place became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2019, though its origins are still shrouded in mystery. Archaeologists have spent years hypothesizing the purpose and origin story of these megalithic vessels, which range from 3 to 10 feet in height and can weigh up to 14 tons. But nobody has found strong evidence for any one theory until now. New research published in PLOS One in March shows that these jars were used as burial sites. And while the jars themselves could be more than 3,000 years old, analysis of human remains suggest people were buried alongside these jars as recently as 700 or 800 years ago. A multicultural team assembled to complete this research, which involved several excavation expeditions to four jar sites in the Laos mountainsides. During their last trip, in February 2020, they quickly uncovered more human burial sites and collected samples for later analysis. The team then promptly had to disperse, making it home in time for their respective countries’ COVID lockdowns. Using a variety of techniques including radiocarbon dating, team members in Australia concluded that vessels in the Plain of Jars were placed there as early as the late second millennium BCE. The human remains, on the other hand, seem to come from between the ninth and 13th centuries. That’s a pretty large age difference. It’s possible that the jars have always been used for burials, and that scientists only managed to find younger evidence. But it’s impossible to rule out other theories. It’s also possible that the jars were not originally used for mortuary purposes. Some theories say that these jars were for brewing celebratory rice wine or whiskey. Then, later descendants of the original jar users might have repurposed the vessels for burial rites. While this new research is illuminating, the study authors note that there are still plenty of jar sites in Laos that have not been examined. Those untouched jars could potentially hold new information that might reveal more of the history, and finally close the book on these jars’ mysterious origin story. https://www.popsci.com/story/science/plain-of-jars-laos-burial-site/

  17. From what I have been reading paulsf has it right, the attached pic was copied from elsewhere and was a letter delivered to a hotel quarantine guest. For 14 days you can't do squat and the third test has also been thrown in. After 14 days trapped with these new quarantine rules a person would sure like to be able to get out and about a bit more freely than what is currently possible.

  21. Not anymore in Bangkok and Pattaya. As of May 1, a 14 day quarantine is required of all arrivals whether you have been vaccinated or not and you are not permitted to leave your room. I don't know whether going to the hotel restaurant is an exception or if you would be required to use either room service or food delivery service. In my opinion a trip to Thailand is not exactly a bright idea under present circumstances.

  22. Thanks, this is so crazy! It must be a big industry already. It first dawned to me last year at BKK airport, when I saw this advertisement and thought Tharn/Type must be more famous than I thought or why would they advertise at a prominent place as BKK airport? Do we know how much money is behind BL film industry? I imagine the most money comes from the publicity that is included in the series for all those skin whitening products and food supplements? And from the fan meetings? What I also don't get, what's the psychology behind school girls shipping gay couples? Are there male straight classmates such bad guys?

  24. One tip which I heard from a friend who has recently located to Thailand and uses the apps quite a lot. He likes the hook ups but really hopes to find a boyfriend. He chatted last week to a very nice looking 22 yo boy next door type allegedly from Udon who had moved to study in Bangkok. Soon they switched from the app to Line. After they chatted for one evening and then about 2 hours on the next day, the boy asked for money as he needed to pay for his studies at Ramkhamhaeng University and pay rent on his room. He asked nicely for 5,500 baht. My friend thought the amount not unreasonable but was not prepared to pay it. So he said he would give him 2,000 if they could meet first for coffee. The guy said he had to go home to Udon for 2 weeks and he needed the money before he left. He would happily meet with him on his return. He added he did not speak good English. The photos he posted (naked from just below the waist up and also of family gatherings) seemed genuine. He also sent a photo of his bankbook details page and gave his phone number. To my friend, all seemed genuine. He ended up sending the guy 4,000 in two installments. Then the boy said he could come back from Udon a couple of days early. Could he stay with my friend? My friend said no since they had still not met, whereupon the Line account was blocked. When my fried told me this tale and showed me the correspondence, I said the clues should have been his pics - near pure white skin. How many Udon boys are anything but reasonably dark? Then each time money was transferred, he wanted not just the sms message but also a photo of the transmission slip. With some banks (all?) these slips also show the balance left in the account. So had my friend not just thrown them away, the boy would have had a clue as to his financial status and whether it was worth milking him for more. Having a second account with a minimal balance always helps when it comes to in country transfers. My friend still thinks there is a chance he is genuine. I just told him never to send money to anyone until you have actually met and had a chance to size the guy up.

  25. Also regarding the “thirst” issue. @Lonnie@Riobard @Vanbcanthony The reason I mentioned that is because some users have messaged me wanting (some even pestering me) for my personal contact information and the contact info of people that I met in the DR. I have heard through Manny that quite a few users get his contact from here wasting his time, asking for vids and pictures of people, with no intent of ever coming to the DR. People have even told Manny that they are in Santo Domingo and request services from him or bringing men over and they aren’t even in the country! It’s just wasting their time, energy and a source of income for manny, the tour guide, driver, boys etc. Which for me, personally, is beyond fucked up. Anyway, I will share my Twitter handle in the following post and will share a few dick pics. Stay safe, stay horny and happy hunting.

Are they including breakfast at that price? It was always a decent place in my opinion...not luxury but good location with short walk to beach.. Still okay with overnight guests? I remember if you paid for a double you could bring them to breakfast.
