Lagoa last night
fairview and 10 others reacted to floridarob for a topic
Went to Lagoa last night, their first night open after about a month. Hours are Noon- 7pm but let most stay until 8pm. Was the busiest I think 've seen it in the new space. Namazu was there along with a couple of other board members. I told Namazu that people were waiting for his updates and he said he's busy "making new content", lmao I was also in Rio last week, the Atlantico Copacabana rooms were about $20 usd a night, felt like old times staying there. Lions is closed with doubts that it will re-open, who knows. Point 202 had a few good nights Meio Mundo is good on Monday, 117 was good on Tuesday, 202 on Wed.....but 202 seemed like it had the most going on more than just 1 night. With restrictions in SP of most everything closing at 7pm is kind of different, but I always plan to have someone come to my place after to keep me entertained. Seems like if you get into a restaurant or sauna before 7pm, you can stay until 8pm. That's all I got, not the writer like Namazu....I don't know how he does it11 points -
Why Southeast Asia’s LGBT community is finally coming out
splinter1949 and 2 others reacted to PeterRS for a topic
I think it will be useful to explain for those who do not know Singapore about Pink Dot. For years the LGBT community in Singapore had been trying to organise a Gay Pride Parade. Several other cities in the region had been holding one for some years - Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong and by far and away the largest and best organised of them all in Taipei. Close to 200,000 attended the 2019 Taipei Parade which was part of a week-end of parties and other events. Taipei is not the only city in Taiwan to hold a Gay Parade. Most of the major cities have their own Parades. By comparison, attendance in the other cities around Asia is usually only a few thousand, rarely more than 10,000. Singapore gays, like their counterparts in Malaysia, suffer from the notorious British colonial law, Section 377A. This punishes gay sex with terms in jail and sometimes a few lashes of the cane. The government of Singapore has consistently refused to remove this law (as Hong Kong did in 1990) because, it believes, it will upset the ethnic balance in a city with major Chinese, Malay Muslim and Indian communities. It also panders to the several large Christian evangelical churches that have sprung up in recent decades who are extremely vocal in condemning gay life and behaviour. Although the present Prime Minister has said he will not repeal Section 377A, he added it will not be enacted. So entrapment by cute young police officers will no longer take place. Gays can live their lives without harassment as long as they do not upset the apple cart, as it were. Without a Pride Parade, the local gay community (which by all accounts is quite large) decided to hold an annual gathering in a local park. They encouraged everyone to wear pink and called it Pink Dot. After a few years, this became extremely popular. As the Asian base for many international companies, an increasing number sponsored Pink Dot. These included J P Morgan, Godman Sachs, Google, Visa and General Electric. But this had become too much for the authorities. In 2017 they banned non-Singaporean companies from sponsorship. The organisers had very little time to replace it with sponsorship by local companies but they succeeded. For an even longer time, they have also banned foreigners from taking part. For the government, Pink Dot is just an embarrassment. Yet, if anyone is embarrassed it should be the Prime Minister. Not only is his nephew gay, he married his partner two years ago in South Africa. Months later the couple attended the Pink Dot event accompanied by the Prime Minister's brother and his wife. The happy couple with their parents at the 2019 Pink Dot. Photo: Singapore Pink Dot In the dark of the evening, all the attendees, many of whom come with family members and just people from the community who believe the law should be changed, light up the park with pink torches. These images go around the world and are a further embarrassment to the Singapore government. Photo: Singapore Pink Dot3 points -
Santo Domingo, The Land of Plenty, Part 1
AsianExplorer and one other reacted to Arabcreamer for a topic
First and foremost I need to give a huge, HUGE shoutout to @BlkSuperman. If it wasn’t for his experiences and him regaling us with his sexcapdes in the DR. I doubt I would have went to Santo Domingo with the abundance of “research”, contacts and confidence to tackle it all. So, BlkSuperman, Thank you. You are my spirit animal and I hope one day I will have the pleasure/honor to meet you in person. Some background details before I dive into the trip. I’m a 29 year old Lebanese and Cuban, Spanish speaking power bottom, who is insatiable for big dick. I can go for hours just getting dug out and have a Stamina that just doesn’t quit. And after reading these forums (when it was known as BoyToys) I knew I had to make a trip to Santo Domingo. My traveling companion was my straight best friend and he wanted to experience what the ladies of the DR had to offer as well. So, we decided to do a 5 day trip to celebrate his 32nd birthday and to have some fun. A month before I went on the trip I contacted the most important person you need know before embarking on this sex Adventure, Manny. This guy is honestly the best of the best. He was there from when we arrived and till when we departed. He will arrange everything and anything for you, transportation, tours, men, women, anything you want. From even something as simple as getting a delicious meal delivered way past closing hours to bringing a nurse to do a covid test at your Airbnb. He made things so easy, was always available, and was beyond accommodating to our needs. I highly recommend him if you are traveling to Santo Domingo, especially when looking for a good time. Manny is the man, and I can’t sing enough praises about how awesome he is. So, before our arrival I contact Manny, give him our flight info, explain what we are wanting to do during our stay, the people kind of people we want to hook up with, beach trips etc. and he arranges it all. He send pics and vids of all the guys and girls he has available and tell us to let him know which ones we were interested in. With everything set in motion, I leave to the DR with my hookah (as an Arab I always carry it with me lol) deep cleaning shower attachment, 4 different poppers, two tubes of lube and my hole ready to be worn out. Day 1 - Wednesday April 14th - The Arrival We arrive in Santo Domingo Airport and Manny is there there to pick us up personally. He takes us first to the grocery store to pick up provisions for our trip then to our Airbnb next to Parque Duarte (gay cruising park) in Zona Colonial. After Manny helps with the groceries and makes sure we are settled he announces has the lady ready for my friend to which my friend responds to bring her ASAP. He then pulls me aside to ask about if I wanted a guy that evening, but I told him I wanted to wait. I explained to him that have a Twitter sex account and had announced that I was coming to Santo Domingo a few months earlier. Since posting on there I had a string of guys waiting to come try my ass, But I told him I was ready to try out his boys once I was ready. He gave me a big grin and told me to let him know. An hour after settling in, he brings by a beautiful Dominican/Haitian woman to our place and my friend is indisposed for the rest of the evening till the next morning. Soon after my big dick Penpal of a few months from Twitter comes by and we spend the afternoon to early evening having nonstop hot, sweaty, almost animalistic sex around the house, pool, shower, outdoor shower and rooftop terrace. After wearing him out I ask if it was cool if I start inviting some of my other fans, to which he gladly said yes. I then had around 6 guys come through (massive dicks and Multiple cummers) to pound me out throughout the night while he watched and occasionally joined in. Finally, at around 4am, with a bit of morning light peeking into the sky. I peeled the sheets of the bed, threw them in the wash, and cuddled to sleep with my penpal anticipating what was to come. It was a Epic first night. I was going to do this as one long post but decided to do this in two or three parts. I will go into details about Manny’s boys in part two and about some of the other guys I met and had fun with on this wild ride. Till then stay safe and happy hunting.2 points -

Is that because you happened to ask them in front of their friends what they would do? I’ve had a similar experience in other countries with a ‘masculine’ culture (such as Argentina) where guys profess to be tops…but in private they’ll happily bottom for me and/or suck cock to completion and swallow my load2 points

I believe that this occurs more often than we learn about because many victims are frequently reluctant to report them to police for the obvious reasons. Given what we know from what police do say in the article and accompanying graphic, the suspect admits that he "had stolen from at least 10 foreign men, making off with more than one million baht. " We also know that he used multiple apps. If he admits to 10, how many did he not admit to? As to how he managed to trick and manipulate his victims, I think Spoon has suggested the possible ways (i.e.,drugs, blackmail, violence). I'm much more comfortable taking a stranger to my room from one of the bars or massage shops. Taking someone from the apps, or chance met elsewhere, involves certain inherent risks. Granted, the large majority of these affairs do not end up like ones described above. That is, however, of little comfort to victims of those which do go south These events may be infrequent but are not rarities. The article discusses just one person who committed multiple crimes and says nothing about those who have done the same but have not been apprehended. Caveat emptor.2 points

I've been quite satisfied with service and fees from Wise (formerly known as Transfer Wise). Although it's great for USA outgoing transfers, I've never tried to use it to move funds out of Thailand. You can choose a bank transfer or ACH (automated clearing house) methods. You can view all fees before approving transfer. (I've only used this for USA to SE Asia transfers.) https://wise.com2 points

This past December I had a chance to spend three weeks in Greece and one week in Turkey. I’ll write about my Athens and Greece experience in another post when time allows. I had travelled much of Turkey several times before with tour groups but had very little luck with finding guys. My one bit of luck was on a previous expedition where I was in a hot air balloon over the Cappadocian mountains with a sexy Turkish balloon guide. When he found out that I was single, he started rubbing his dick. I was able to play with it a few minutes until we had to land with the other balloons. Had a been a little quicker and started on take-off, I could have given a blow job to a Turk as the sun rose. Alas, those are missed opportunities. My most previous visit to Turkey has been to Istanbul for one week about one year ago. I had one bad and one good experience. The bad experience happened when I met a sexy Turk in Taksim Square and we walked over to Taksim Park for sex. As we got on the back side of one of the trees on the back section, it became clear that he had a knife he was holding in his right pocket as he walked. Now I understand the need for his own protection, but I was not keen on finding out if he was going to rob me. I stopped, pointed to the area, and then said NO. I then pointed to another section (the east side near the hotels) and motioned for hm to walk with me there. As we walked I was trying to think of a way to run or exit the place. At that moment two policemen were walking through the park. I saw them and just waved and started saying “Hello, hello, can you help me?” The young man immediately started walking away and when the police arrived, I simply asked them to give me directions to my hotel. I had read on the internet about horror stories with guys in Istanbul, so I was very wary of future street action. The good experience happened happened on my last night at the Aquarius Sauna which is quite famous. The place seems to close and reopen every few months. It had just reopened and I ventured into the place. I had a great experience with one Turkish guy that was mesmerizing. Fast forward to December when I decided to try my luck again in Istanbul. I first went to visit the three bars/clubs and two caffes you can find on the internet. Even with Covid, they were open and quite busy. I immediately had a few young Turks come to talk with me at each place. Their English was not that great but sufficed. Because of my not knowing Turkish, I decided to not chance an encounter with any of the guys. I considered a blow-job for one, but the bathroom could not hold the two of us at the same time. At another bar I finally met two Turkish guys that spoke English. Suddenly this older British man said hello to me and asked if I would join him for a drink at his table. He then proceeds to tell me that I was about to fall prey to a scam. The Turkish guys/escorts had been making it a habit of taking a foreign guys back to their hotel and robbing them. He warned me that they also spiked drinks and had carried a French guy out the previous week when he seemingly looked to be drunk. This British man and his partner are retired living there. He said it was not very safe in parts of Istanbul right now for gays, so even they introduce themselves as “business” colleagues. He did give me one interesting insight. He said that Grindr and Planet Romeo would have plenty of straight, masculine, Turkish guys available for sex, but there had been too many horror stories in Istanbul about what happened when these guys got to a client’s hotel or apartment. Instead, he said I should choose a gay man that was clearly a bottom and maybe even effeminate. They said I would have a better chance of not having a gay attack another gay. Well, I tried it and found one sexy university student on Grindr who joined me at my hotel with no problem. He was a bottom, gay, slightly effeminate, and had an amazing body. He told me many sad stories of openly gay men trying to live in Istanbul. I spent three evenings with him and still keep in contact. I also decided to return to Aquarius Sauna during the day hours. I had one bad experience and three sexy experiences. The bad experience was a young Kurd that had the body of a God, promised to kiss on the lips, and would allow me to suck him for 700 lira ($99 USD). When we got to the room, he would not kiss at all. I tried to leave and he pushed me into the wall and wanted the money. I said NO and motioned that first there was the blow job and then the money. He laid on the table, I gave him the blow job, and then we exited to the cabin. I gave him the 700 lira and he demanded more. I told him NO and immediately walked to the bar area. The guy did not follow, but the bar guy heard me and asked (in English) what had happened. I explained and he said he would ask the guy to leave since he had followed me to the cabin (notice… NOT because he had lied!). I was then offered a drink and two other Turks came to talk with me. They offered themselves as a top and a bottom for 500 lira each ($70 USD) if I wanted some group action. I was soured on the prior experience at this point so I left. I returned the next day and those same two Turks offered themselves again. I decided to take them up this time and we had a great experience for four days in a row (kissing, cumming, sucking, fucking, getting fucked). AQUARIUS SAUNA: This can be a bit scary if you have not been there before. Search on the internet under google maps for photos. The entrance is off Istiklal pedestrian road that connects with Taksim Square. The street is Katip Mustafa Çelebi, Sadri Alışık Sk. No: 29/1, 34433 Beyoğlu/İstanbul, Turkey. You can find a marker in Google maps for the location, as well as a 360 view where you can walk through the sauna. You enter off the main road, pay your fee of 50 lira ($7 USD), and then go down a set of steps to the cabin area. You are given a cabin with your own key, a towel, and sandals. You disrobe in the cabin, wrap the towel around you, leave your valuables in the cabin, and then lock the door. You then can walk into the lounge area where all the boys will be sitting. There were about 10 boys on each visit I was there. I then went to the bar on the right and got myself a drink watching carefully how it was made so as not to be spiked. At that point I had brought the International Herald Tribune so I started reading it. The boys will immediately start to approach you for business. The whole place is very dirty to my taste, but they were trying to keep it clean as you can see from the photos. The rooms for sex required you to go up the very narrow set of stairs to the left of the bar area to what I can only describe as an attic. Once at the top, there were a series of 8 rooms that were about 10 ft by 20 ft. each, with a table/mattress (see the photo on google…the room you see there is CLEAN if you can believe it!). This was the most cramped I have ever been for sex. The guy will spray the mattress with a disinfectant, and then place a large towel/blanket over the mattress. When you are finished, you return to your cabin to retrieve the money. The guy is not supposed to follow you back to the cabin. WEBSITE (the photos in google are better): www. aquariussauna.com PAY: The gay guy from Grindr asked for 400 lira ($56 USD). He was so good I gave him 800 each time and also met for some meals. The Aquarius guys wanted 500 lira per person for the package deal, but the others were all asking for 700 lira ($99). I was told by the British couple that the going rate paid offered a Turkish client at Aquarius was 300-400 lira ($42-$56 USD). Good luck!1 point -
The Oscars will be on television this weekend - and few of my friends even know about it. No doubt the lack of new movies and the closure of movie theatres during the pandemic have much to do with it. But viewership of the Oscars ceremony in the USA has been in a steep decline for years. From 45 million in 2014 to a paltry 24 million last year. I don't know the worldwide figures, but China and Hong Kong have banned the telecast this year, due to the nomination of a short documentary on the Hong Kong protests in 2019. Over the years I have watched various attempts to spice up the ceremony. None worked for me - apart from one brief moment when Ellen took a selfie with the pizza delivery man. So how would you change the format to make it more palatable for an increased viewing audience? I'll start the ball rolling with a few. 1. Reduce the length. It is far too long. 2. Get rid of some of the categories. How many are really interested in the two documentary sections (no matter how good they may be)? Do we really need to see the Awards for Best Song and Best Music? Whilst we're at it, jettison the Short Film (Animated) and Short Film (Live Action). I would also be tempted to jettison the technical categories but I know that these tend to be the few that include extremely popular movies (unlike the Best Picture and Best Director categories) and so I would give them a reprieve. 3. Why the need for two often incredibly boring Presenters for each Award? We know they are reading equally boring lines from a screen. They have not even had the courtesy to the audience to learn them by heart. One Presenter with a brief that their short introductions must be pertinent, descriptive and witty would be infinitely preferable. 4. Why have a slew of separate sections to show excerpts from the nominated best movies? This can surely be shortened and done as the Presenter announces the movies in that category. 5. What is the point of Best Foreign Film any more? Foreign films often appear in the other categories - Foreign films have even won Best Picture. The Oscars should be open to more than just western-made/western-financed movies. 6. Too many awardees make speeches that could have been written by 6-year olds. Either that or "Oh, my gosh! I never expected this and I don't know what to say!" Nominees should be 'instructed' at the time of nomination that they must prepare an acceptance speech of not more than 45 seconds or so. This can not thank husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, dead ancestors and others who have nothing to do with the movie. Thanks to agents and managers are also banned. Who watching worldwide will have any clue who they are? Thanks to a movie's producers and crew must be limited to a fixed number - say, six. Finally, their acceptance speech should either be witty, promote social change or both - and that's it! 7. The entertainment between the presentations is frequently just plain dull. it is surely not outwith the imagination of producers to take a tip or two from Broadway where stage ensemble numbers are often spell-binding. Even if there are no musical-type movies one year, there is absolutely nothing to prevent the producers going back in time to create exciting numbers from movies of earlier years. 8. And then the crux - the awful show hosts. Yes, I know that is an exaggeration but so many have verged on the awful. When you have a Presenter or Presenters for each category, why do you also need a host? Just to give a boring monologue with a host of usually lame 'in' jokes? The Oscar show has become the antithesis of the 'Magic of the Movies'. Movies ARE magic. Whatever format the Academy eventually adopts, it absolutely must get the magic back into the ceremony - or become totally insignificant.1 point

Little here about art. So hopefully this might start the ball rolling. Whenever I travel I try to take in an art exhibition or visit a gallery. Occasionally I will see work of art which stuns me. Caravaggio is a favourite painter of many gay guys. In Bangkok a year or so ago there was a wonderful exhibition of digital reproductions. Not like seeing the originals but they looked wonderful. I remember about 3 decades ago a friend took me to the rather dingy interior of the French Church in Rome not far from the Piazza Navona. There was a side chapel near the altar. When you put some Lire into an electricity box, the chapel lit up and there before us were three large stunning Caravaggio paintings. Even earlier there was one painting which i have been tracking down for decades - and never found. I was in Berlin in the early 1980s. I wanted to see East Berlin and so took the S-Bahn across to Alexanderplatz. The drabness of that open space was enough for me. I got on the next train back to the west. Alighting at the first stop, I noticed a museum. In the basement I saw a painting that I recall was a Renoir bursting with colour, such a contrast to the scene I had just witnessed. Since then i have tried to find that painting, without success. Back in Berlin a few years ago, I noted that the Museum no longer existed. But I did attend a Monet exhibition and saw one painting (below) that was very similar to what I remembered as a Renoir. But the Renoir had the figures running towards the stream from a house in the upper left. I am resigned never to finding it! A painting which has literally grabbed me was one I saw in London's small Courtauld gallery 5 years ago. I had not wanted to go as I was very tired that day, but my friend insisted. So we trooped around what is an interesting gallery. Then I saw this large painting by Edouard Manet - Un Bar aux Folles-Bergere. I was immediately captivated. Nothing in the painting seemed to make sense. The barmaid is looking out at us with a blank expression. Behind we see the audience enjoying the titllating show of the Follies Bergere. But then we can see her back curved behind and on her right. We also see that she is talking to an elderly man. What is he doing? Ordering a drink? Unlikely given the blank reaction of the barmaid. Perhaps he is seeking an assignation after the show. Then we realise that all the way behind her is a curved mirror and that the audience is in fact in front of her. There are lots of other fascinating things about the painting whichI will not go into here. But I remain fascinated by it.1 point

Thailand is quite unique in how few problems i have had of this kind as I have never had anything go missing while there is a boy in my room. I used to go to Prague where a few small things have disappeared and i have caught a couple of boy being nosy. Now I still act the way I did in Prague so there is never anything easy to find in the room and I always shower with the door open, also not drinking while looking for boys helps. Only in thailand have I had a boy come back asking if I had given him too much money because i had tipped him a little extra. ( 500 baht more than usual)1 point -
From South China Morning Post By Kok Xinghui Social media, K-pop, boys love dramas and gay characters on Netflix – all have played a part in bringing LGBT issues into the mainstream, activists say But greater visibility has also brought a backlash. On Facebook, people troll newlywed Thai men, in Indonesia, a woman was burned to death Joshua Simon. Photo: Handout In 2019, Simon became one of the faces for Pink Dot. That same year, he pulled out of a TEDx talk hosted by a local university after he was asked not to make “sensitive” comments about his sexuality. That made headlines in Singapore and Simon “pretty much had to then come out to the rest of the country”. Today, he is one of three men who call themselves the SG Boys and run a podcast on gay issues, discussing everything from loneliness to what it was like coming out to their families. Simon is not alone. Across Southeast Asia, activists are noticing people are more willing to come out, talk about and campaign for LGBT issues and right. The shift, they say, began about a decade ago but has accelerated in the past five years or so. Simon attributes his increasing willingness to talk about LGBT issues to a number of things: the crowds at Pink Dot showing him it was okay to openly identify as a gay man; shows on Netflix portraying LGBT characters as regular, normal people and an increasing number of straight people in Singapore showing support. As Southeast Asia is largely conservative, advocating for LGBT rights can be an uphill battle. Thailand is an exception. It is considering allowing same sex marriages and while there still isn’t full acceptance of LGBT people, a 2019 study by the United Nations. Development Programme found that 69 per cent of non-LGBT Thais reported generally positive attitudes towards LGBT people. Thailand is also a key producer of Boys Love dramas, a subgenre depicting erotic relationships between male characters that is popular across Asia and portrays gay relationships as normal. And while Vietnam has decriminalised gay marriage and allows same-sex couples to live together, homosexuality is a crime in other countries. Malaysia and Indonesia have Islamic laws that are even more prohibitive. In Indonesia’s Aceh province, gay men are publicly caned for having same sex relationships. Why Southeast Asia’s LGBT community is finally coming out
splinter1949 reacted to PeterRS for a topic
Since the South China Morning Post is owned by Jack Ma, former Chairman of the Alibaba Group, it is perhaps understandable that the article makes only a brief reference to Taiwan. Yet while Thailand and Vietnam have been taking baby steps on LGBT rights, Taiwan has marched forward at considerable speed. It's extraordinary to realise that until 1987 Taiwan had been under martial law for close to 40 years. Since then, it has become a rare beacon of true democracy in Asia. It has also become the regional leader in LGBT rights. I don't know enough about the history but I do think it is partly a result of a group of committed LGBT activists who decided they would not use aggressive tactics. Instead, they emphasised co-operation with local and national governments and aimed at winning over what was regarded as a very socially conservative population. The end result is that almost two years ago, Taiwan enacted laws permitting gay marriage, the first country in Asia. Discrimination within the island is virtually a thing of the past. I believe the annual Gay Pride Parade in Taiwan had more than a little to do with this. The first formal Parade was held in 2003. Instead of being financed by commercial gay venues and associated gay products and attended only by sex workers and lardyboys (as was the case in Bangkok around the turn of the millennium - one reason why that Parade died very quickly), Taipei was organised solely by individuals. They wanted the Parades to be fun for both participants and those watching from the pavements. Each Parade also promoted a social message. The emphasis was co-operation. Over the years the numbers attending increased. Originally it was only gay guys and gals from Taipei. Quickly they were joined by members of the LGBT community in other cities on the island. Within ten years, there were regular attenders from other Asian countries. By that time the attendance was 65,000. Now it is a truly international fun weekend with around 200,000 participants. So large has it become that the Parade route has had to be split into 3. All start and end close to City Hall where a number of gay singers and other stars entertain the crowd. Presently Taiwan is closed to foreigners. Hopefully this will change later in the year. The 2021 Parade is on Saturday 30 October.1 point -

Well that certainly doesn’t sound good. Complete transparency was the whole reason I began doing business with Transferwise in the first place. If DeeMoney is just a marketing ploy it seems like a Thai bank might be a better bet. I wonder if a Transferwise mult- currency account would be helpful to transfer from Baht to another currency. One other thing I wonder about is, if one day I do need to transfer money out of Thailand, how much of a hassle are currency controls. I mean, I think they require you prove the money wasn’t “ill-gotten“ in Thailand. How can I prove the (foreign) provenance of the Thai funds if I originally brought the money into the country via Transferwise which shows up at Krungsri as domestic transfer...1 point

Just checked (Transfer)Wise again, not possible. Of course Western Union comes to mind, but they are notoriously expensive of course. Just a wire transfer from a Thai Bank maybe? The TT rates don't seem so bad, dunno what fees they might charge on top. Certainly doesn't cost anything to inquire with the banks Would be interesting to know in case it ever becomes necessary for other members1 point

Luckily he is not my type, and im not in thailand. Those who used grindr to find boys are basically inviting strangers to come to their place for sex. I guess if one want to avoid this, bars and massage places are the best option. On the other side of the story, ive known a boy who had been cheated by customer as well, where the customer didnt pay him after the service. He was brought to the door when the customer suddenly said he forgot something, and closed the door on him.1 point

Bienvenido, @Arabcreamer! It is so good to have young, open minded, horny blood in the forums. Please, do not stop traveling, fucking, and reporting back here.1 point -
Also be very clear on how any financial advice you're getting is being paid for. Is the Financial Advisor contracted to a FIDUCIARY duty to you (recommended)? Or are they going to just be *selling* you whatever gives them the best commission?1 point

Great topic! I often think about retirement or semi retirement in next 10 years. 5 years ago I was thinking I'd like to spend 3-6 months in Bangkok each year with London as base. Now Thailand not so cheap and air quality not good but good health services. Last few years I have focused travels in Brazil and the sauna scene so would love to semi retire in Rio or Sao Paulo, especially now with Pound against Real but concerns about safety as full time resident (never experienced any danger as tourist though). I generally stay in airbnb but like others said renting apartment and possibly sharing sounds like a great idea. Has anyone retired and obtained some sort of retirement visa in Brazil? I wonder how much you would spend on rent boys and how often we would visit saunas if a full time resident!1 point

Queer As Folk Reboot

He is definitely a cutie! In about a year I will have ears just like him, from all the mask wearing! I will have to consult a plastic surgeon and see if they can pin my ears back in place... Lol1 point -
Yes, QAF Showtime was a phenomenon back then how there'd been nothing like it on US television. What interests me is having Russell Davies involved. Would be cool if the reboot included Russell Tovey. He's worked on other Davies projects.1 point

I have an opposite view from @KeepItReal. I loved the UK Series and the first episodes of the US Series. But I found the US storyline just got stretched too much. QAF was for a time and of its time. With public acceptance of homosexuality now so much more advanced in parts for the world, the "shock" value of the new series will have vanished. Plus the number of gay-themed movies has mushroomed in the last 21 years1 point

Queer As Folk Reboot

I am actually quite excited about the reboot. It is a good thing to see more diversity out there - but would have liked it to be on TV, not just streaming, where it can be available to more consumer, and importantly the younger (perhaps questioning) generation.1 point -

PART THREE: OMNIA SQUARE (red outline area on map below): This place is brimming with Middle Eastern young men for sex. This is a place you either love or hate (as our other reviews here have shown)!!!! The whole square is very seedy, but the area for sex is the northwestern part of Omonia. This is the part in front of and surrounding the Hondos department store. The Syrian, Iranian, and Iraqis are usually sitting/standing at the top of the tube escalator that empties in front of the juice bar Gregores (red circle). The escalator that empties in front of Hondos (and the elevator area) usually has the Greeks and eastern Europeans (red circle). As you face Hondos, the side pedestrian street on the left side is filled with Afgans and Pakistanis. The same can be found on the right side of Hondos on the side walk. It is also the case that if you cross the street to your east you will find several outdoor cafes. One of them, whose name escapes me, you will find has old gay men sitting with their young male companions. I usually frequent the outdoor café/restaurant right in front of Hondos where I can sit and watch the boys on offer (dotted red on map). When I arrive at Omonia I usually take a complete walk around the Hondos center and then spend a few minutes seeing what is available by standing at the top of one of the two escalators. Now there is a nearby police station, so do not be so stupid as to do business in public. As to where you can go for sex, that is rather easy. All the boys will know that there are three possible sex hotels from which to choose. One is one block to the west (the one I prefer), there is one next to the Kosmopolit cinema, and then one more one block east of that. So, for those not familiar… once you negotiate what you want with the boy and how much to pay, you then proceed to the hotel. Just tells the boys to show you the hotel. You will probably pass a number of female prostitutes along the way who also use these hotels. Once you get to the hotel, you approach the clerk and hand over 5-10 euros depending on which hotel you go to. No id is required. I do this with one swift motion as I hand the 5 euro with my right hand whilst my feet continue to move to the elevator with the boy. It is usually the second floor if you choose the hotel west of Omonia, but that changes over time. The boy will know the floor. Once you get off the elevator, you will be in a hallway with about 10 rooms. There will probably be one or two couples (gay and straight with prostitutes) waiting ahead of you for a room. Once a room is clean, the maid will motion for you and you enter the room. It has a bed with one fitted sheet on top, tv with porn, a bathroom, two towels, and usually a condom. You have between 30-40 minutes until the maid will bang on your door. Most of the Syrians were especially phenomenal kissers and fuckers. Often they would also ask if I would fuck them as well. Interestingly to me, the Afgans always liked to get fucked and kiss. My usual deal was 25 euro for the boy and 5 euro for the room. I have found it safe 99.9% of the time and only had one problem. I once got a boy back to the room and he stripped. I then looked and noticed he had a small discharge from his penis even before it got hard. It was clear he had gonorrhea or chlamydia , so I used google translate to tell him how to get some medical care. A friend of mine DID have one problem when a guy could not get hard to fuck him, so he paid the guy only 10. The guy went ballistic and would not allow my friend to leave until he paid more. My friend then started yelling for the maid who started banging on the door. The boy had to relent and my friend left. I never had problems and had some amazing repeat business with these boys. Most of these boys ALSO show up a few hours later at Victoria Park where they are also available for more sex. TYPICAL DAY: I would begin the morning with work. Around 11:30 am I would take a nice walk to Omonia Square to see if there was a young male appetizer I might enjoy. I would walk completely around Hondos Center and then stand for a while at the top of the two escalators. I would always find someone. After going to the nearby hotel for sex, I would return and settle down at one of the cafes for lunch…usually the one right in front of the Hondos Center. During my time I would regularly make eye contact with another young man and invite him over for lunch. After lunch he and I would go to the sex hotel for some fun. I would then walk back to my place to freshen up and take an afternoon nap. Afterwards, I would walk over to Pedion Park for an afternoon to sample one of the guys there. Then, I would walk back to Omonia for some theatre action where I would always find one or two guys to my liking. After some sex, I would leave and have a coffee and enjoy one of those amazing Greek rice curd desserts they have. I would then return to the theater for one more round. After this I would walk up to Omonia Square and see what was on offer. I would always take at least one guy to the sex hotel for some fun, sometimes two. Afterwards, I would make my way to Victoria Park. They have some nice caffes with outdoor seating right off the top of the tube escalator that are perfect for eating dinner and watching boys. If I did not catch the eye of anyone special, then I would check Grindr or PlanetRomeo to see what was on offer. As was almost always the case, I would find someone in Victoria Park to take back to my place for a late-night snack. I would generally repeat this pattern, but add the two bars especially on Friday/Saturday nights when new guys would appear. For those not yet familiar with these areas, then simply use the street view of google maps and you can see pretty much everything that I noted above. Good luck and be sure to report back on your visits!1 point -
Covid Surge Dashed Comeback Hope

From NYTimes By Hannah Beech Photographs by Adam Dean A shop keeper waited for customers next to two shuttered bars on Patong’s famous Bangla Walking Street PHUKET, Thailand — Around the corner from the teeth-whitening clinic and the tattoo parlor with offerings in Russian, Hebrew and Chinese, near the outdoor eatery with indifferent fried rice meant to fuel sunburned tourists or tired go-go dancers, the Hooters sign has lost its H. The sign, in that unmistakable orange cartoon font, now simply reads, “ooters.” Like so much at Patong Beach, the sleazy epicenter of sybaritic Thailand, Hooters is “temporarily closed.” Other establishments around the beach, on Phuket Island, are more firmly shuttered, their metal grills and padlocks rusted or their contents ripped out, down to the fixtures, leaving only the carcasses of a tourism industry ravaged by the coronavirus epidemic. The sun, which usually draws 15 million people to Phuket each year, stays unforgiving in a downturn. The rays bleach “For Rent” signs on secluded villas and scorch greens on untended golf courses. They lay bare the emptiness of Patong streets where tuk-tuk drivers once prowled, doubling as touts for snorkeling trips or peep shows or Thai massages. Only a few weeks ago, Phuket seemed poised for a comeback. After a year of practically no foreign tourists arriving in Thailand, the national government decided that Phuket would start welcoming vaccinated visitors in July, without requiring them to go through quarantine. The project was called Phuket Sandbox. But Thailand is now gripped by its worst Covid-19 outbreak since the pandemic began, spread in part by well-heeled Thais who partied in Phuket and Bangkok with no social distancing. The confirmed daily caseload — albeit low by global standards — has increased from 26 on April 1 to more than 2,000 three weeks later, this in a country that had about 4,000 total cases in early December. Caitlyn Jenner has balls Caitlyn Jenner was born as a boy named Bruce and grew into a heck of a man. After his college football career was cut short by a knee injury, the young man switched to the decathlon. Competitors must excel in 10 very different sports including jumping, sprinting, pole vaulting, shot putting, discus throwing and distance running. Bruce was a dedicated and gifted athlete. He won the Gold Medal in the Olympic Decathlon in 1976 at a time when the Soviet block routinely cheated with drugs. He not only won, but set a world record in doing so. In the game of life, Bruce was just getting warmed up. He’s been married thrice and fathered six children. He became successful as a writer, auto racer, businessman and television star. He married a Kardashian and, unrelatedly, was on the cover of Wheaties. There was a lot to admire about Bruce. But the thing I admire most about the man is that he looked deep within himself and found a herself. Bruce became Caitlyn. I have no aspirations to become a Caitlyn myself, thank you very much, but I’m stunned by the courage Bruce exhibited when he came out as a transexual six years ago when trannies weren’t exactly trendy. Athletes especially know that their individual achievement is directly proportional to the effort they put into it. This is why sports is so appealing. It’s one of the last refuges of merit in a society bent of abolishing the concept. Don’t expect the world record books to be changed anytime soon to reflect proportionate representation, and don’t expect faster and slower time clocks depending on the race of the racers. Unfazed, Caitlyn is now running for governor of the once great state of California. She joins a long list of celebrities-turned-politicians in the state, including Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sony Bono and Clint Eastwood. In California, celebrity is powerful. Caitlyn’s opponent, the current governor, is a failed and corrupt girly man who’s been a politician for decades. He’s known mainly for fouling up California’s COVID response. After he prohibited get-togethers, he along with lobbyists and other well-connected types dined at a Three-Star restaurant and lied about the arrangements. His administration disbursed billions in COVID relief to fraudulent claimants even after being warned. His vaccine roll-out was among the worst in the nation. The people of California have now petitioned to recall the failed governor. In the recall election, the governor’s main opponent will be Caitlyn. I can see her on another Wheaties box.-1 points
