  2. Daydreamer, like magic, you now have the same icon at the top of your post. However, like dark magic, I don't know what it means. I did figure out we once had a different category of member and that is why those icons are there. I am trying to find how to either make this for all or remove for all. Magic is dangerous and I don't want to delete anyone by accident so it may take some time.

  3. I am finally working my way through "Manner of Death". I am at Episode 13. I have not enjoyed the Series as much as I had expected. The Stories are convoluted and are drawn out too much. I will take my Murder Mysteries in book form!! There is a new Drama Series beginning from the Philippines. The Title is "Memories of Forgetting" and the Director is Joselito Altarejos. Well respected. Based on the first two Episodes this is a Heavy Drama. Catch it on Vimeo or GagaOOLala. Finally coming from the Philippines is a sequel to "Ben x Jim". It is just "B X J FOREVER" and it seems they have mixed up the former main characters with other new love interests. Viewers are complaining. Catch it on Youtube. Now at Episode 4. CHEERS

  5. By rights, Thailand might do well to maintain a visitor quarantine in perpetuity, notwithstanding the coronavirus pandemic. It might help control influenza incidence and mortality to the extent that a proportion of cases are brought in by travellers. You could receive training and testing for swimming skills while waiting to be let loose. Kidding aside, Thailand values its health and life. They would prefer to draw the line at their 85 COVID deaths to date, with a case fatality of less than 1 in 300. In the meantime, here in Montreal today thousands of protestors marching against mitigation measures ... cringeworthy. The restrictions are actually really helping to control spread and overrun of hospital resources. Thailand’s causes of death past year ... 55 seconds animation. FullSizeRender.mov

  7. After watching the third episode of Lovely Writer no doubt it's one of the best BL comedies I ever saw the plot is very light , witty and funny but with genius structure the main character is involved with adaptation of his successful BL novel to a TV series and is basing his new upcoming BL novel on the events at the set while the main actor at the series is temporarily moved to live with him and trying hard to make a romantic move on him,The most funny thing is that the writer who is writing juicy daring BL novels is actually a virgin nerd and doesn't have any clue what to do with potential lovers in real life !

  9. As far as I know, none of mine are gay owned, but all are definitely gay-friendly. There's a new restaurant on Soi Yen Akat (about 400 meters from the Malaysia Hotel) called Workshop. Intimate, mid-price but great food and service. At least one of the staff came from Zanotti in Soi Saldaeng. Portions may be on the smallish side if you are desperately hungry! Il Bolognaise at the end of the short Sathorn Soi 7 (the Singapore Embassy is on the corner of Sathorn and Sathorn Soi 7). Been around quite a few years, excellent Italian food at reasonable prices. Near the top end of the price scale, Eat Me off Soi Convent has consistently been wonderful for probably around 20 years. Great atmosphere, impeccable friendly service, Australian fusion menu, several wines by the glass selections - and fabulous desserts! For a small coffee shop with a small menu of excellent food and again excellent service, Kush on Soi Nanglinchee has become a favourite. For breakfast or brunch, their scrambled eggs with melted cheese, bacon, salad and the largest and best croissant you will find in the city is superb. Nanglinchee is the extension of Soi Suan Plu off Sathorn. Kush is on the right just before the gas station on the opposite side. For Thai food, it takes a lot to beat Ruen Urai. This is set in a Thai House in the grounds of the Rose Hotel off Suriwong. This s nothing like the hotel itself. The quality is really excellent and the atmosphere almost unbeatable. However, always book ahead and ask to be seated on the ground floor. The upper floor is boring! Mid-price. The only restaurant that I have ever found gay un-friendly was Indigo off the Silom end of Soi Convent. French cuisine, mid-price and patronised by many of the French community. The owner was a total homophobe who would rant about the gay Fan Club massage being just across the soi until it closed some years ago. I believe it is now run by his son, but after one of his rants 6 years or so ago, I vowed not to return.

    Egypt update

Over the years I have stayed many times in Egypt. My most recent stay was for one month traveling between Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. CAIRO: It used to be the case that the Khan el-Khalili market provided young men for sex, but that is largely no longer the case. The same could be said for the nearby Egyptian museum where I had a number of trysts over the years. Today, things are much less exciting and far more dangerous. The secy male vendors at the market will certainly gay bait you to buy some of their items, and even hold hands with you saying they are hard, but they never seem to want to leave or arrange a time for sex. I did find one vendor down a side alley that never gets visitors that was willing. I entered his shop, he stood really close as I looked at his items, and then he smiled and rubbed two of my fingers. When I smiled back and squeezed his hand, he said he was hard, liked me, and wondered if I liked “Egyptian Sausage”? I said yes but expected him to not be willing to try anything. He then said times were tough and he could use a little money. We negotiated and he then proceeded to close the doors of his shop. We then did the deed there in his closed shop. Thereafter, I have always visited the shops in the side alleys of the Egyptian cities where I have been quite lucky many times. I stayed this time at the Nile Hilton Hotel which, as you will see on the internet, always has a few guys in the lobby, the bar, and the health club for you to sample. Most were just a bit too professional for my taste, and I was always a bit wary that I might get set-up. As you will read, Grindr and Bathhouse raids are the norm right now in Cairo, so gays must be extremely vigilant. I had a number of hotel encounters and the one market encounter. LUXOR: Luxor is filled with sexy guys, scary guys, and scamming guys. The scamming guys are the young ones that are along the pedestrian sidewalk on the east side. They will start talking with you, ask you to come see their boat, and then once you are there the real boat owner appears trying to get you to contract a journey. One guy even got me to the boat, started to push off, and out popped the owner as the boat was about to pull away. Luckily, I jumped back on the ramp before it went off. So, the boat guys are mostly scammers although the exceptions can be found like in Aswan (see below). The sexy AND scary guys were the horse carriage drivers. If you walk along the Nile walkway, just make eye contact with the carriages until you see a sexy driver you want to try. I usually negotiate a price for a tour and specifically say I do NOT want a stop for water, tea, a rug, or a restaurant. In every case the young driver will ask if I am married. When I say no they then ask if I am gay. I smile and shake my head yes. They will then ask if I like “Egyptian Sausage” or “Egyptian Banana” to which I smile and say yes. It is then that you negotiate with them for a quiet place somewhere to do the deed. The only time it is scary is when they return you to a location. No matter what price you agreed upon, then will go ballistic and demand more money. Hold your ground and hand them the money. They will throw their hands back and say they will not accept it. I then throw the money on the ground and walk away. The next day they will be so kind and want to do the same thing again to make money. The next group of sexy guys is the market guys late at night. I take a walk every evening and go down the side alleys to find shops that are not normally frequented. I have been very lucky in Luxor to find young guys willing to close the doors of their shop or take me to a side storage area to do the deed. Lastly, I have had good luck at my hotel. If you stay at a big hotel, be sure to frequent the pool area in the late evening when they are cleaning it. Likewise, when you see the male attendants cleaning your floor, stay around the room and make eye contact when they start to clean. They will always strike up a conversation and ask if you are married. After you say no, then their next response will determine if they are available for a little cash. ASWAN: I have met tons of gay German tourists to this city over the years. One has been retired there and has shown me the ropes. The young guys here are available in the following: horse carriage drivers, young boat owner, market vendors, banana island, and camel drivers. The horse carriage drivers in Aswan operate the same as in Luxor (see above). As for the boat owners… one of the best ways to take advantage of these is to go to McDonalds and eat your meal at the tables facing the Nile. From there the boat owners will approach you asking if you would like a ride in their boat. I always offer to walk down and see their boat. Once there, they ask if I am married. When I say no, I then also ask what is down in the cargo area of the boat. They then will always want me to venture down with them. Once down a few steps, the guy will show his dick and ask the question of the sausage and banana. You can then do the deed right there in privacy after agreeing upon the price. I once did pay a boat owner for a felucca trip during which he offered his banana to me whilst he guided the boat up the Nile. At night, it is also possible to see many young boat owners taking people out on the Nile to see the night stars. I did this several times and once you are out on the Nile away from people in the darkness, he will ask if you are married. Once you say no, he will usually show what he has to offer and you can do the deed there in darkness on the Nile. Some of these same boat owners will say they will take you to “Banana Island” which you can google and will find is a real island on the west side of the Nile. Historically, it is nothing special except once you get there and are between the bananas, the young guy will pull out his offering and ask if you want a banana. It is a quick blow job given the limited time and space available. Similarly, the camel drivers on the west side are usually taking people to the old Coptic monastery. Take a cheap boat ride across the Nile from the east to that west area. Pause and take a look at the camel drivers. Once you find a guy you like, go up and ask a price to take you to the monastery. Once you are on your way, the guy will get on the camel with you behind him on the same seat. Your hands are around his waist and your crotch in his rear. Over the course of the trip, he will ask if you are married. Once you arrive at the monastery, the tour is self-service or the ticket man will show you around for a few wads of cash. Once you start your return journey to the original point, the camel driver will stop at a point where you can take some photos. It is here that he will show you what he has to offer and you can make an agreement to do the deed right there amongst the boulders of the desert overlooking the Nile. Surreal. I have visited that monastery too much, but I can’t just visit Aswan without sampling sexy young camel drivers. PAY: Most want 100-200 Egyptian pounds ($7-$12 USD) for you to give them a blow job. When the location provides for more, they will ask 200-400 ($12-$25) for the deed. You can actually bargain them lower, but it is already really inexpensive. This will be in addition to any other prices for the carriage ride, camel ride, or boat ride. Those prices usually range from 100-400 pounds as well. SEX: Every guy I met was active, would fuck, and would let you suck him. Only one in all my years has agreed to kiss. LANGUAGE: Arabic and some English. GRINDR: If you do you are crazy.

    Sub-Saharan Africa?

We've had some fantastic input here on North Africa (thanks those who contributed), but I wonder if anyone has any insights on the rest of the continent. I know that South Africa is probably pretty similar to the West, but what about the rest? Obviously homosexuality is pretty taboo, so maybe there isn't anything out in the open, but does anybody else have any sexual experience to share? Sure after COVID, it might be nice to see the local wildlife, but you can't be on safari the ENTIRE time you are there...

  12. The OP says he can spend 3500 baht a night for a drink, a show, and take out. That translates to roughly US$100. For a night out and some time in, it's a bargain. Keep reflecting on what that same night would cost you in the US...if you could find it! I find mamasans annoying and pushy, but I still prefer to see the guys on stage. All that said, a Brazilian sauna experience beats them all. After 20 years of going to Thailand, I finally found the pot of gold!

Many are also trying to convince their man they want to be with them for a long time when in essence they are just going to be there till work picks back up and they can make more money. No. No. I am not self projecting here! Jupiter Boy loves me for me.

  17. Hmmm. Think I’ll avoid this place. Comic to hear the presenter talk about how you could be sitting in a pizzeria in New York City! The pizzas look overloaded greasy and with Americanised toppings. For me a proper traditional Italian pizza is the only way to go. Hope Bankokians don’t get fooled into these are proper pizzas.

  18. Depends what you mean by “a lot quieter”. I’ve done this trip twice, first travelling upstream like you, and more recently travelling downstream. There were fewer people travelling upstream and in that sense the trip was “a lot quieter”. However I preferred the downstream trip despite there being more people on board. In noise terms, the downstream trip was “a lot quieter” because the boat is travelling with the rapid current of the river and the engine therefore runs at considerably lower revs with minimal noise and vibration making it a very pleasant and tranquil experience. Going upstream the engine was at or near full revs resulting in noise, vibration and pollution all of which were pretty intrusive - the boat is doing the equivalent of running up the down escalator. Having done both, I strongly recommend the tranquility of travelling downstream.

  23. The Leaked (2020) Not gay. Has anyone seen it? It is an "educational youth series". So far there are 3 eposides, maybe more to come. Please watch the first episode (it is on youtube, it's only 20 minutes) and let me know what you think! I was surprised on how direct the topic is treated for a Thai series. Why R U (2020) I watched until E7 so far. After E1 I wasn't really convinced, but it is actually quite good! What a kiss, and that already in E6! We want more of this! Fighter: hot hot hot cute Tutor: cute; this role is much better for him than Pete in Love By Chance!!! Zon: cute cute cute Saifah: cute cute

    Sub-Saharan Africa?

I've been to The Gambia, Senegal and Zanzibar (Tanzania) but long ago. Handsome guys, undoubtedly, but opportunities are so limited and perilous as to make a sex-jaunt unwise. I had one experience in The Gambia with a cute guy but the circumstances in which it took place were- shall we say- uncomfortable. Plenty of offers for walks up the beach to a quiet areas which I didn't accept. One sort of relationship where sex was offered but, somehow, it didn't feel appropriate in the circumstances. I'm older now and more timid. I wouldn't consider a reprise.

  26. I like the bars but don’t like the pressure. I like watching the boys. Many times boys look different in real life than on a photo. Even when it is not fake or old photo, the looks somehow can be different when you meet in real life. Sometimes for the better. Sometimes for the worse. That is why I like the bars. You know for sure what you are getting. And can have a small chat before offing.

  27. I love the gogo bars. Seeing guys in the flesh is far more appealing to me than seeing them on a thumbail picture on my phone screen. Seeing their personalities on stage can make a big differece. To be honest, some of the best guys I've been with in Thailand, I probably would have scrolled past them on app. The apps are boring for me. I can do that at home.

  29. I love the bars because I like looking. I can find guys on the Apps but it is not as enjoyable for me as a night walking around and looking at GoGo boys. I guess this goes way back to NYC and Montreal and my love for strippers. It has been something I enjoyed for decades. That said, I do think the sex can be just as good with either group. I see the GoGo Bars as slowly fading but don't think they will be gone in the next few years. I think there is still a big market for it in Bangkok and Thailand in general.

  30. Texas gets a bad rap. It's the politics more than the people. And like most gerrymandered states Texas's rural vote is greater than Houston and Dallas. I lived there for six years, the people were great and Houston was very LBGT progressive.
