  2. Last night was the 11th anniversary of Xboys gogo bar on Pattayaland soi 1. There was a good sized crowd and it was actually cold inside as it was a very cool night with many Thais wearing jackets. The show was nothing special as many boys have gone home. B-Boys good as always although not as many as before. I was told there would be a second show later as well as a cake. Considering the COVID nightmare, it was a good show in the worst of times, like 2020 in general.

  3. If we are talking Nice Boys at Sunee, then that is one of my absolute favourite bars, and how I miss the place stuck here in England. I have an ex-Pat friend who still visit most weeks and it seems to be ticking-over during the pandemic which is far better than most bars are faring at the moment. Mostly straight boys, mostly handsome, and almost all too willing to show you all they have on offer while they are on stage. Call them off-stage for a drink and you can examine their 'goods' yourself, HJs, even BJs available in the bar; mutual if you want most times. 20 baht for a very quick fondle, 100 baht for a more leisurely stroke, and 300 baht if they cum - not set prices, but what I usually give. 300 baht in the wooden bin and the mamasan bangs it on the table as a signal for a cum-contest on stage - the first lad to cum (and they come off stage to show you) gets the 'prize'. Barfines reasonable, and drink prices far lower than Boyztown for example. A fun, debauched, happy place! One or two of the boys have become regulars to my room, either just with me or with my long-time. Since the closure of Good Boys and Eros Bar in Sunee itself, there are few others such places still operating anywhere in Pattaya. Please god it survives in business until I am next able to visit once again.

  5. I recognise that the bars in Boyztown had been hurting for many years....at least ten, I'd guess and that the sort of gay tourists (like me) that built the gay scene of the 80s and 90s are long gone. However, I continue to feel a deep resentment at what happened between (roughly) 2015 an 2019. Boyztown may have been struggling but it was still alive. The few go go bars had loyal customer bases, as did the Ambiance Hotel, its terrace that those of three bars in the Panorama corner. Then a decision was made to chase the female clientele in BBB followed by the coup de grace, the purchase of LCF. Forgive the personal bitterness in what follows. After twenty years of patronising Ambiance three or four times I year, I spent my last night there two years unable to sleep at gone 0300 due to unbearably loud music from LCR accompanied by the screaming of women. I looked out over the balcony. There were but a few customers but each of them was apparently endowed with astonishingly loud voices and an infinite capacity for banshee-like screaming. With a plane to catch, tired and low, I sat down with P (who'd never had the sentimental attraction to Boyztown that I had) and we decided on the spot that it was the end of Boyztown for us. And we became regulars at the Jomtien Complex. I know for certain that I'm not the only person driven out by the transformation of a gay soi into a very different one. And I'd add that that the change that affected me and others was that it was no longer suitable for those of my generation, nor even of my boyfriend who is nearly forty. The new visitors to the soi were often Chinese and female but it was their youth and the behaviours that accompany youth that eventually lost Ambiance (and Panorama) my custom. I've just re-read the above. And yes; I am getting old.

  6. Interesting how the top five in the list are 5 of my top gay films today, 12 years later. Here is a recent video about Shelter. Amazing that was 13 years ago. It used to be the #1 gay film for a lot of people. After all these years Shelter hangs in there.

  9. A rainy Friday night so I headed over to Tawan, thinking there might be very few customers and the guys might be eager for some tip money. Indeed, when I arrived at 10:15, there was exactly one customer inside. No show, so no cover charge. The guys were wearing street clothes, taking only their shirt off for the on-stage rotation, and looking bored to death. I announced that I would buy drinks for any naked boys and immediately had several takers. The only other customer took an off, which left me as the only customer, drinking with a bunch of naked guys. I said I wanted to see a show, so two of them got up on stage and sucked each other's cocks, licked each other all over, etc. It was great fun, they were very good sports about it, and it was much sexier without the silly costumes or masks they normally wear. In the end, I tipped everybody who had participated, including the DJ and the bartender. I dropped a couple of thousand baht, but it was worth it for what was essentially a private party, and everybody seemed grateful to have someone actually willing to engage with them. I have been lucky enough to still have work during the virus, so I don't mind sharing a little bit with those who are currently struggling, especially when I get a lot attention in return as I did on Friday. The guys in there have been very good to me over the years and so I was happy to provide them with a little something during tough times. I'll probably drop in again in a few weeks and do it again.

  14. For many a year, excepting two, I would always spend Christmas with my first cousin and family who live in the San Diego, CA area. This year will be quite different, for her adult immediate family and her grand kids and some twenty+ folks (friends) will not be joining her. She normally has around 40 folks for dinner and for the mild party following. Her 10,000 square foot house would be exquisitely decorated, and the buffet area dawned with all types of food and desserts and drinks. Unfortunately, this year will be quite for her and her husband. Yesterday I ordered two special Christmas dinners from one of my favorite restaurants in Monterey, CA and, unfortunately, will dine alone. I'm already psyched for this, and since the NBA will be having major basketball games on that special day, I plan to watch each of them. Later I hope to view and listen to Ma Rainey's Black Bottom on Netflix. Last, but definitely far from least, I will make some phone calls to a few friends and to some of my relatives who live in various parts of this country. Happy Holidays, ALL! Stay safe and let us all attempt to be optimistic.

  18. Its like a dejavu. Malaysia's third wave, which is still going on strong now with 1-2k cases daily, started from illegal immigrants in the borneo state of Sabah. The first few weeks of infections were contained mostly in detention center for the illegal immigrants caught entering the country illegally, mainly from indonesia and philippines. Contact tracing was done but it was difficult to do contact tracing of immigrants as anyone could imagine, since telling the authority means getting caught. The peak of the spread was the local state election there, where plenty of people going to the state from all over malaysia, both politicians and locals who worked in the capital. Not long after, new cases were found almost in every other states and not surprisingly, gov started to impose lockdown. However, this time around, our gov decided that we cant afford a full lockdown, so most businesses are still allowed to be open. Needless to say, nowadays, majority of new cases are at workplace. Few weeks ago, mass testing of foreign workers who lives in dormitories are done by stages. The current measures, wont bring the number of cases to zero again but definitely reduce the infection rate as our daily cases has been kept at a constant rate instead of going up uncontrollably. I hope Thailand will be able to contain this new outbreak. Mass testing is really crucial to avoid a full lockdown.

  21. I must be lucky because I have stayed at Hiltons and Marriotts all over the world ( too many cities and countries to count) and not once have I experienced the failures you have been unlucky enough to have. Possibly with the exception of a few poor WiFi's . Now non- international chains and lower priced Hotels I have experienced most of the things you mentioned . However I am a planner and I read all the reviews I can find on a Hotel I intend to book and that minimizes the booking of hotels that will disappoint me. Certainly there are pitfalls to reading reviews and after awhile Booking.Com became my #1 choice for finding non International Chains. Since there are no reviews allowed until the guest has actually checked out , you remove the chance of of fake reviews and Booking.com usually contacts any guest who was unhappy . Now my expectations for tourist hotels in locations where there are few if any International Chains then I have experienced just about everything you mentioned. But then AirBnB came along and all of my tourist travel for the most part reverted away from Hotels. On a scale of 1-10 the worst AirBnB I ever had was 7.5 and I had lots that were just as good as it gets. It does not work if you are making 1 night stays but 2 nights or longer I completely changed to Air BnB except when I just wanted to use some accumulated CC Bonus points and have the bonus of Happy Hours and Breakfast Buffets and swimming pools. On second thought I have experienced some Dud Chain Hotels but not surprisingly they were in my country ( Leader in Virus Deaths )and complete incompetence the USA.

  22. Londoner - after reading your piece above I reflected that it could have been written by myself given the sentiments you have described. I first discovered Pattaya in 2001 when I visited in company with a gay friend from home, with whom I had spent several holidays in Playa del Ingles, Gran Canaria. After finding our feet we discovered we were in some sort of heaven the centre of which was BT, with its gay gogo’s and outdoor bars. Subsequently I stayed many times at the Ambiance and came to love its querky architecture. There were usually some str guests but usually civilised m/f couples who often had been attracted by positive reports on trip adviser. The change happened after the discovery by Chinese females of BBB, turning it from a gay orientated bar to a boy bar, and contributing to the late night sleep defeating noise with their shrieks. Finally i shifted my custom to the Jomtien Complex where the noise problem does not exists and a pleasant seaside atmosphere prevails for us gays including GAY bars. In BT.I used to patronise Cupidol, after it shifted premises into BT despite the pestering mamasam, who eventually found that I wasn’t an endless source of drinks and that I preferred to select a boy myself rather than be guided by her recommendation. However during the last couple of trips I just found it no longer had the sort of atmosphere and boys I preferred. when I eventually get back to Pattaya (when is the question) I don’t know what I will find in BT (maybe nothing) I hope there are enough elderly dinosaurs like myself to provide sufficient business for a recovery to a semblance of the place we used to love.

  23. Dear Gay Santa, I've been a good boy ALL year, considering there was nothing to do or nowhere to go during this pandemic... Reading this letter, please take into account all the sacrifices I've had to make this year and be benevolent. I'm not fussy or picky OR demanding, and I realize there are loads of other needy and worthy people you have to visit and provide for. ALL I want for Christmas is a BIG COCK ! A visually pleasing tool that's long and thick and topped with some delicious Foreskin covering the entire head.. Color doesnt matter ... But, I know this might be difficult to deliver on such short notice, so if you cant deliver the cock, I will take either/or of the following: 1) Some luscious, juicy wet lips 2) A pair of enlarged pointy, perky, sensitive suckable nipples (nipple rings for Xtra WOW) 3) A pair of full, heavy, low hanging Balls (manscaped), that love to be played with, sucked and licked 4) A hard bubble butt with a delicious, pink butthole, puckered and inviting my hungry tongue 5) The muscular body of a God, pecs, biceps, abs and Quads, ready for and desiring of Full WORSHIP and tongue bath 6) If a Full muscle body is too much for you, I'll take a pair of hard, bulging calves and pretty feet... I hope I am not asking too much or putting too much stress on you. ? I know your blood pressure must be high this time of year.... I am wishing I have been good enough for you to bring me ALL 6 PLUS the big cock, but I'll be happy and content with whichever or my "wants" you deliver. Stay safe, wear your mask, and drive safely. Merry Christmas Alyn

  25. Sunday night jetlag and dehydration from a hot humid day caught up with me. Web app tag with the boys. On Monday, I had to work most of the day. Went to Pointe 202 from 1700-1830 hrs. I might have been the only punter when i entered. One boy looked like he had done too much heroin and been out in the sun too long. Two guys that might have been selling (and older) or buying (not in bad shape); I could not tell. By the time I left, maybe 3 other true patrons, one oriental, one heavy set and one more. Too many dance videos were strangely very violent with lots of blood. Not my cup of tea. Inside was too hot and humid. Unlike 117, no AC to be found. About 10 boys. Maybe 1 twinkish, 1 white and nice shape (not twink nor muscle), rest were black or dark mulatto. From pre-COVID times, nothing I wanted to pay for. Saw the Jupiter Saturn conjunction in Ipanema by 715pm and that was great. Walked from posto 9 back to the Siq Campos area. Lots of homeless folks, but felt safe. Tuesday am, a bit drizzly rainy. More to follow.

  26. From Thai Enquirer Four takeaways from Thailand’s 2020 local elections Thailand held its first local elections since the 2014 military coup on Sunday, amid the return of local coronavirus transmission and months of political protests. Across the nation, votes were cast for Provincial Administrative Organization (POA) candidates. After a long suspension of local democracy, did these PAO elections mark a new chapter for Thai politics? Is there anything useful we can learn from the results? Here are four key takeaways. 1. A good night for political dynasties Local elections in Thailand has always been dominated by local strongmen, big families and political machines. Pork-barrel politics and patronage ensures local loyalty, while local “persons of influence” (phoo mee itiphon) can use a variety of tactics — legal and not, monetary and otherwise — to deliver votes for a candidate. This election was no different, with hua kanaen (“vote deliverers”) being caught in several provinces. (A selection from recent days: Trang, Nakhon Pathom, Kanchanaburi.) This year was no different, and local bosses made a strong showing nationwide. Some examples which illustrate the general rule: In Chainat, Anusorn Nakasai, brother to Palang Pracharath secretary-general Anucha Nakasai, triumphed. In Buriram, a relative of the local magnate Newin Chidchob won handily. In Sra Kaew, the local Tientong family propelled yet another family member to victory. In Phayao, the brother of Deputy Agriculture Minister Thammanat Promphao won. Thailand, according to Harvard professor Daniel Smith, is a country with one of the world’s highest proportions of dynastic politicians. These local elections will ensure that this trend continues, as offices such as the PAO have traditionally provided banks of candidates for parties to draw from in future parliamentary elections. And even as Thailand has advanced towards more ideologically-driven national conversations, local elections remain driven as much as ever by machine politics. 2. Parties more visible in local elections Political party branding was strong for this year’s local elections. In previous years, candidates often unofficially affiliated with national parties. According to BBC Thai, this is the first year multiple parties officially fielded candidates who campaigned in branded gear. For PAO chairman, The Progressive Movement competed in 42 provinces, Pheu Thai in 25 and the Democrats in two. Palang Pracharath and Bhumjaithai still chose to disallow formal use of party branding even as several closely affiliated candidates ran. But despite attempts to increasingly align local politicians to party brands, it’s still evident that local dynamics will trump the national conversation in most constituencies. It’s also difficult to interpret what the results mean for their parties nationally, given that several candidates are still not running publicly with their parties. The Democrats’ celebration of a victory in Songkla (there only one, given they came short in Satun) is hardly a sign of vitality for a party widely assumed to be headed for extinction, given how other candidates unofficially affiliated with the party performed poorly in other traditional strongholds such as Surat Thani. A trend worth paying attention to moving forward is the increasing number of national politicians who have chosen to enter local politics, which some feel is a more fruitful space than sitting on the opposition benches in parliament. If this continues in the future, the degree of party identification with these politicians will be even higher. 3. The Thaksin brand is still alive, but what about Pheu Thai’s? One race that was given ample attention was Chiang Mai’s PAO chairman election. Pichai Lertpongadsiron ran under the Pheu Thai banner but was facing competition from Bunlert Booranupakorn, who was backed by red shirt leader Jatuporn Promphan. Former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, whose public statements and overt interventions in Thai politics have become rarer in recent years, chose to insert himself into this local race in dramatic fashion. On December 3rd, Thaksin sent an open letter written in local dialect to Chiang Mai residents, saying that if his hometown’s people were to abandon him, he would “feel very sad.” Stating that he was unable to act at the national level as Pheu Thai is in the opposition, so he wished to help Chiang Mai solve local problems, which he could do by providing advice to Pichai. Thaksin reminded voters of the years of his premiership and said “good things will return” once Pichai is elected. Thaksin followed up this letter with a recorded video on December 16th, once again in support of Pichai. Pichai duly won the election with a sizable margin. Once again, it is perilous to draw too many conclusions from the results of a local election. But Thaksin’s gambit ultimately worked, and it is evidence that the Thaksin brand remains strong, perhaps more so than his party’s, even as the former premier has spent close to a decade and a half in exile. Pheu Thai itself won only 9 of the PAO chairman seats it contested, which may be a consequence of its weakening at the local level after an extended period in which Palang Pracharath has lured its personnel away. We can only wonder whether the Pheu Thai brand can remain successful if it were to ever distance itself further from Thaksin. 4. On first big play, Progressive Movement falters The Progressive Movement was founded as a new political vehicle for Future Forward Party founder Thanathorn Juangroongrueangkit after he was barred from formally engaging in politics earlier this year. And since its founding, one of the Progressive Movement’s key goals was to act as a platform in local elections nationwide. Publicly, the organization’s leadership had broadcasted high hopes, with Thanathorn saying just one day before the election that the Progressive Movement “must win in a landslide.” But despite the setting of high expectations, there were signs that not all would be well. As the progressive newsletter The Bastion noted, the Election Commission’s decision to hold the election on a weekend between two major holidays and disallow early voting ensures low turnout from voters who live out of province, which were among the key blocs that powered Future Forward’s strong performance in 2019. Yet the final results must still be described as a disappointment for the Progressive Movement. They won 17% of the popular vote in the provinces they contested, which is broadly in line with Future Forward’s nationwide result last year. However, this did not translate to victory in any of the 42 PAO chairman positions they sought. Supporters of the Prayut government have already begun gloating about the results, with commentator Pat Hemasuk declaring that the Progressive Movement “will only win in one province: Twitterburi.” Progressives, in the coming days, will surely point to irregularities and the aforementioned efforts to suppress out of province votes as an explanation for the Progressive Movement’s dismal performance. But there will others who question whether the Progressive Movement is on the wrong track. Thanathorn himself conceded in his press conference that his rhetoric on the monarchy may have affected the results, although a full analysis will have to come later. When combined with waning attendance at pro-reform protests and the track record of opposition candidates in losing several parliamentary by-elections, it will be difficult to deny that soul-searching may be needed.

  27. I was there during their 10th anniversary last year and it was a great night indeed. There were lucky draws for boys and customer alike, each drink will get u a ticket. There were so many gifts that in the end, the boss just asked who havent gotten gift yet and give them a pick of the gift haha. It was definitely a highlight of my trip, got myself a bottle of whiskey for my next visit, which was used in the next few days, with 2 other local friends. One is bar boy but i never off him, knew him as he was offed by a friend, and another is the beach chair attendant that i really like. It was a great way to break the ice with the chair attendant and my bar boy friend was my wingman, that also thought the chair attendant is hot as well lol. Too bad i didnt have the courage to do anything more after the bar visit lol.

  29. Some older gay men cannot grasp the concept of ‘boy bars’. They persist in thinking of boy bars as gay bars. Women and lady boys/men have always been welcome in boy bars. Asians socialize differently than older gay men and go to boy bars in groups. Many older gay men are lone hunters. Asians often buy bottles of whiskey and set up while most lone farangs sit with a bottle of water or a soda, asking for more ice, complain about the air conditioning and the loudness of the music. Most Asian groups buy drinks for the boys and tip. The older gay men are dinosaurs and are tolerated by the boy bars but the money is from Asians. Clearly, I’m generalizing and there are big spender farangs who buy boys drinks and tip generously and lone Asians who are cheapskates. Some boy bars that feature slim young twinks do cater to older gay men but welcome females with open arms. Sunee plaza used to have many such bars but times have changed and even before Covid, almost all of the Sunee Plaza boy bars are gone as well as many that were in the Boyztown area, especially on Pattayaland soi 1 many years ago.

  31. I have to admit the learning curve for newTumbl is a royal pain in the ass. I can't believe how poorly designed the site is, but I have a feeling "the young" might disagree with me. I imagine there are a lot of gay men my age or older who are not going to want to figure it out. In the meantime, my Feed gets some interesting porn videos that I haven't seen anywhere else, and I don't mind sharing some favorites. As a nod to Thanksgiving (and if nobody objects), I've decided to post links to videos from my Feed that I find particularly hot and sexy. Keep in mind I don't search for these videos. I don't have time to do searches. For whatever reason, hot videos simply end up in my Feed. If I think a video looks hot and lasts longer than a minute, I'll try to post it here: Hot Sex on NewTumbl You'll need to JOIN as a member or SIGN-IN to gain access to these video links, since the thread is posted in the PORN section. (Please note: I am not going to post links to the legally questionable videos that end up in my Feed.) In the meantime, a hot video by Reno Gold just appeared. Reno has become my new boytoy. I posted the link to his newTumbl video yesterday.

  37. Please Note: NewTumbl is playing with their "share" coding for videos, which messes with my mojo. The hyperlinks I created are now sending you to a NewTumbl ad. To view the videos in the link provided above, you'll need to copy and paste the video's url into a new browser window. That seems to be the only way to get the video to play, bypassing the NewTumbl commercial ad. The hyperlinks I created on the thread are not working anymore, and the software on this board automatically turns a url into a link. Don't click on the mp4 link. If you do, all you will get is the newTumbl commercial ad. You need to open a new window and do a copy and paste to avoid the NewTumbl ad and view the actual video. For the videos that have already been posted with a hyperlink, you will need to click on the hyperlink to access the video's url. Simply copy the url address from the NewTumbl ad that appears in the url window after you click on the hyperlink, and then paste that address into a new window. Here's another tempting look at Reno Gold:

  42. From Bangkok Post Covid-zone workers dumped in Samut Prakan Officials meet the Myanmar workers from Samut Sakhon province after they were dumped in Bang Phli district of Samut Prakan late on Tuesday night. (Photo: Sutthiwit Chayutworakan) SAMUT PRAKAN: Fourteen Myanmar workers at a factory in Covid-19-plagued Samut Sakhon province were rushed off the premises and abandoned in neighbouring Samut Prakarn's Bang Phli district on Tuesday night. Police at Bang Kaew station were informed of their presence about 11pm. They were left with their bags on Soi Green Lake, at the entrance to Green Lake housing estate off Bang Na-Trat Road in tambon Racha Thewa. They told police they had worked at the STI Precision Co plastic-moulding plant in Muang district, Samut Sakhon, for about a month. Personnel staff at the company told them on Tuesday evening that police were to inspect the plant and they had to leave the premises. They said 23 workers were to be transported from their workplace to Rayong province. The dumped employees told police that some workers were dropped off from their vehicle on the way. The remaining 14 were taken to Rayong, where they were to be left in a forest. They refused to stay there. The driver asked if any of them had a relative or friend who could accommodate them. They said some relatives and friends worked and lived at a factory on Soi Green Lake in Bang Phli. However, the factory owner rejected them for fear of breaking the law, and their having come from Samut Sakhon, the epicentre of the latest Covid-19 outbreak. So their driver dumped them at the entrance of the Green Lake housing estate. The workers told police they had not been tested for Covid-19 and were desperately in need of help. 43. From Reuters / The Thaiger Hundreds of Thais in South Korea have died in the past 5 years, many from “unknown causes,” according to data reported by the Thomson Reuters Foundation. The majority of recorded deaths are migrants, who are less likely to report abuse or have access to healthcare. The report from Reuters prompted the United Nations to look into the cases as well as the safety of Thai migrants in South Korea. A specialist on labour migration at the UN International Labour Organisation, Nilim Baruah, says the reported data is “concerning and requires attention and investigation.” “Undocumented migrant workers are the least protected and their health and safety are a concern.” At least 522 Thais have died in South Korea since 2015, according to data obtained by Reuters from the Thai embassy in Seoul through a freedom of information request. 84% of the deaths are undocumented Thai migrants. Reuters says 40% of the recorded deaths are due to “unknown causes.” The other 60% were reported as health-related incidents, accidents and suicides. The undocumented migrants in South Korea are often overworked, unable to access healthcare and unlikely to report exploitation due to fears of deportation, according to current and former migrant workers, campaigners and Thai officials. Reporters found that migrants often work in dirty and sometimes dangerous working conditions for little pay.
