Hey thanks @bcdaron. I have not seen these two since COVID, and I’ve been to Lagoa twice this trip now. I’ve seen them multiple times as dancers who do strip teases, but never on the floor like the regular GPs looking for customers. Unsure if they can be acquired tho maybe they can be at a (premium?) price. I do know that some gogó dancers at saunas are only dancers and noT for hire for more (hung out with a couple to know), but unsure if these two are for hire or not. Rio Inside, Part 1 This was only going to be one post about 3 rainy days in Rio, and what I did. But because I can’t shut up, I am breaking this up into two posts. Late last week, a cold front of polar air suddenly pushed its way through the southern states of Brazil. Since it is winter, and I am always unprepared for winter whenever I go to Brazil during this time , it meant more than a good chance of the arrival of the occasional cold air and rain. This weather is obviously not conducive for most outdoor activities, which is the one thing I do whenever I can when I am in Brazil. But not when one has to be dressed like this (from the news last Thursday): So this was the weather forecast for Thursday to Saturday, with comments by me: This 3-day of rain and cold coincided with a 3-day break from the BF, as he had to scurry back to Sao Paulo. So I am left alone in Rio with the weather being bad. So, there is nothing to do but to look for trouble, or have trouble look for me. Day 1: Getting Back in the Grind “Putaria Agora” – the definition of my weekend in Rio Just my experience: I’ve always found Grindr in Sao Paulo to be much better with hooking up with locals than Grindr in Rio. My guess is, because of the larger tourist flow in Rio, there is more competition from “fresh blood” than the relatively less touristy Sao Paulo. Nowadays, with COVID decimating the tourist numbers, I’ve found that i was getting way more messages from non-GP locals in Rio, than even in Sao Paulo, so I was keen on taking advantage of this change. I’ve been discreetly looking at Grindr with the BF still with me (he does not have Grindr in his phone, to the best of my knowledge), and I was finding the same burst of activity that I have found last week in Sao Paulo. I call it “the COVID bump” - gays looking to bump and grind, as the gays are not finding their usual outlets to let loose available to them (clubs, parties, crowds), so hooking up, tho very risky COVID-wise, is one of the few things to do these days. So after lunch, when the BF drove away, I switched on the Grindr. It didn’t take long to get messages. He quickly obliged. He was a cutie! Killer smile also. I decided to call him an Uber. 45 minute trip for $5. I ran to the closest 24 hour Zona Sul grocery store to replenish the alcohol supply. The good thing about calling an Uber for a trick is you can track when they are close by. When his Uber was close, I ran down to meet him outside. As advertised, and taller than I thought. He looks more indio than white, but because of Brazil’s amazing racial mixing, his tall nose and light brown eyes made his look more like the typical mixed Brazilian. When he got out of his Uber, he was reserved and shy, but once we got indoors, he showed me the biggest smile I’ve ever seen. Very attentive and charming. Wore me out, as only an 18 year old can. He stayed the night. With all the horror stories about crime in Brazil, it is naturally unnerving to have a stranger stay with you for an overnight. But it is something I have done before, and I do what I can to (1) do my due diligence to find someone I can trust and (2) make sure I am in a place that is secure enough (like with cameras or a porter that asks for ID) for peace of mind. I wouldn't recommend this for newbies. I say this as someone who invited someone over on their first ever night in Brazil. He didn’t kill me in my sleep (actually woke me up once for sex). He didn’t rob me. He didn’t ask for money in the end. He only asked for an Uber back after Café da Manha. He came 5 times total, as only an 18 year old can. Up next, Instagram boys, and another sauna visit.

I don't have the writing or whoring skills of Namazu....it's an Asian thing, but I'll give it a shot lol I'll give a quick version of my observations. I arrived Friday...I normally would try to go Business class on United, it was available with plus points. But I thought, why use points if the service wasn't going to be there? No Polaris Lounge or amenities normal to Bizclass? I had 3 seats across in economy and another 25 around me empty....so that was good enough for me. I brought my own Polaris pillows before I even knew there were no pillows even in business, lol. Arriving in Sao Paulo....Not sure why the immigration officer thought I was Brazilian.....he insisted about 4 or 5 times to see my Brazilian documents ....I had a feeling he was flirting with me. He def was my type, If I wasn't so tired I would've given him my number. I already had plans to meet up with someone I knew from the start of the pandemic, so my first days were already occupied. Then I met with the brother of my ex bf and his new American bf that I will call his sugar daddy, lol Not much to add to that story except the obvious stereotypes. The bars (and Lagoa) must close by 10pm...so is kind of weird to be out in a semi lively street in Republica, to all of a sudden have everything shut down. Then everyone moves to the Carrefour Express supermarket across the street to buy beer and continue drinking (except Sunday). I went to Lagoa tonight , Sunday to see how it was. When I walked in Rodolfo and Marcos ( the guy that sells the clothes inside) were surprised to see me...or a gringo? I told them that it's hard to keep international whores at bay.....they asked where was Tomcal, lol. With the exchange rate, it's ridiculously cheap for just about anything, uber, drinks, food, programas. I met a guy that I'd seen before at Fragata, but never had been with. 150 reis at my apt and he was very happy...times are tough. After he left, I went to the street again and was waiting for someone that never showed up. I saw a black guy that said he was 24 but I new he was more like 34. He was hung, I could tell from from the bulge in his sweatpants. I asked how much, he said 50 reis...wtf , 10usd. We had fun, he did everything I asked, def worth 10usd.....but was a one time thing with him, I'm sure. I'm Glad I came...Still another week to go

From Channel News Asia SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has set up a Safe Travel Office (STO) to ensure an easier and smoother traveller experience with the gradual reopening of borders, Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam said on Thursday (Aug 27) in his ministry’s addendum to the President’s address. This comes as Singapore sees stable local community transmission of COVID-19 and embarks on various travel schemes with other countries, he said. President Halimah Yacob told Parliament on Monday that Singapore will safely resume air travel to maintain its role as a global and regional hub. Singapore has reciprocal travel arrangements with Malaysia and China, with plans for similar schemes with Japan and Thailand. The Government also announced last Friday that it will ease restrictions for travellers from several countries including Brunei and New Zealand.

Something odd seems to be happening on the inbound tourism situation. Apart from the talk of opening Phuket in October but with quarantine and the possibility thereafter of travelling to other parts of the country after a 3rd week of quarantine (none of this yet finally confirmed), I am surprised at a new TAT TV commercial being shown regularly on many of the True Visions TV channels, including CNN. Apart from making Thailand seem alluring, it stresses the fact it is safe. This campaign seems to be addressed to possible overseas visitors rather than local travellers. Then this morning I got an email from Qatar Airlines advising they have now resumed 10 flights a week from Bangkok. Only one-way tickets are offered at reasonable prices. In September flights to London are 10315 baht economy and 36470 biz class. I have no idea what has prompted these actions unless there is a possible opening up in the works sooner rather than later. But that is purely my read.

I think we agree. And 13 out of 16 sounds right. Sirota is actually using the same CNN exit polls I cited. But I'll say again that "Independent" can mean a lot of things. It can mean a Black woman who voted for Bernie and would never vote Republican. Or, it can mean Stuart Stevens, who ran the campaigns of George W. Bush and Mitt Romney and is now a Never Trumper. When it comes to Republicans or crossover Republicans or Never Trump Republicans or now, thanks to Rahm, "Biden Republicans", I'm very skeptical of the idea that nominating Bernie would have been a better way to get Republicans who have distaste for Trump to vote Democratic. The polls Sirota and I both cite seem to say that Republicans who voted in the Democratic primaries tended to heavily favor Biden. And you can't have it both ways, either. You want to slam Rahm for promoting the idea of "Biden Republicans". But you've been promoting the idea of Bernie Republicans for a long time. So do we want disaffected Republicans in the Democratic tent, or not? I think we mostly agree. If there is something we mostly disagree about, it may be the suburbs. You seem to view them more like the place Democrats go to die. Or at least sell out or abandon their principles to rich suburban women. I look at Lauren Underwood and think suburbs is where Democrats go to grow, and take power. Neither of us are completely right or wrong. The lesson of President Toxic and poor Stuart Stevens and the Never Trumpers is that, ultimately, we have to have sex with whoever we get in bed with. I can say for a fact that that's as true in politics as it is in escorting. Stuart is dismayed about having to have sex (politically speaking) with some of the people he mobilized to elect W. and almost elect Mitt. He finds it so distasteful that now he wants to jump into bed with us. So one thing I take away from your warnings is that we ought to be aware of who these people are we're getting in bed with, and what they really believe in. Again, I'll keep repeating. Lots of liberal journals and polls are saying that if you want progressive values and voters, suburbs are a good place to find them. That's a theory which I think has yet to proven in the decade to come.

@bcdaron, I think this is obvious, but I am not sure how proficient in Twitter or IG you are. I do prefer Twitter, but in both networks all you have to do is find one local porn star with a good following. Then you scout who he is following. Nothing much to update, except I've been with the same guy since Monday, he's so attentive and fun.
