Of you can stand year round heat and you think you can go without family and friends in your home country I'd say try to stay at least one year and then you will see. Getting new friends can be fun. Don't burn any bridges at home until you decision is solid5 points

A trial period is essential. At least six months, preferably more. I considered it sixteen years ago when the pound was worth 73 bht. I'm pleased I remained in London and continued to travel for holidays, grateful that I could afford to do so. Returning to your question, one of the major issues for me was exactly what you mentioned. I only knew one expat (he has since died) and, to be blunt, the posts I read on a gay forum (not this one) suggested that I'd never fit in. Some of the attitudes were genuinely appalling to someone who has lived in a liberal, multi-cultural city all his life. I appreciate that this was not true of others but feared that expat life may not be for me. So you are right to take into account what sort of social life you'd have in Pattaya, as well as obvious things like finance, weather, health and the political situation, remembering that if you sell-up at home, you may find it financially problematical to return if things don't turn -out well.3 points

From Bangkok Post Govt mulls easing more curbs Shopping malls and large retail outlets selling construction materials will be allowed to reopen as lockdown measures are eased further on May 17 if there is no surge in new infections. China and South Korea will also be the first countries to be removed from a list of the government's dangerous communicable disease zones. The issues were discussed at a meeting of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) chaired by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Thursday. Taweesilp Visanuyothin, the CCSA spokesman, said the centre will gather opinions about the next round of disease control relaxation from today until next Tuesday and draft the relaxation measures next Thursday. "The next stage of relaxation will begin on May 17 unless the number of new Covid-19 cases soars," he said. "If the situation is brought under control, shopping malls will be allowed to reopen. If each business can maintain [strict social distancing] measures, malls and other businesses can also resume operations. However, this also depends on cooperation from the people," Dr Taweesilp said. Sukhum Karnchanapimai, permanent secretary for public health, said large retail outlets selling construction materials and furniture may also be allowed to reopen in the next stage because buildings and houses in several provinces have been destroyed and damaged by natural disasters and their owners badly need to buy new materials. Moreover, the CCSA agreed with a proposal by Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul that countries where the Covid-19 crisis has eased can be removed from the government's list of dangerous communicable disease zones. Mr Anutin told the meeting the proposed de-listing will help normalise Thailand's relations with them. However, it was also agreed that the de-listing process must be gradual and that people from those de-listed countries will not be allowed to enter Thailand straight away. Meanwhile, the CCSA on Thursday reported three new coronavirus cases, all Thais, bringing the total in Thailand to 2,992. No additional deaths were reported, leaving the accumulated toll at 55. ======================================================================================== From Coconuts Bangkok Chatuchak Market reopens this weekend After being closed over a month, the popular weekend destination Chatuchak Market will resume operations Saturday Wanlaya Wattanarat of City Hall said yesterday that the outdoor flea market would be allowed to reopen this weekend, with some mandatory restrictions including limited opening hours and social-distancing measures due to the coronavirus outbreak. All shoppers and vendors must wear face masks while distance must be maintained between each person. Hand sanitizer will be installed at several spots in the sprawling complex. People are encouraged to order food for takeaway. Restaurants or stalls wishing to seat diners must provide seats at least 1.5 meters apart from each other. Despite the measures announced, it is difficult to imagine any meaningful enforcement at the sprawling marketplace which on a typical day teems with shoppers squeezing past each other in narrow lanes. Operating hours will limited to 5am to 6pm, as a national overnight curfew remains in place, Wanlaya said.1 point

From Bangkok Post Shopping malls, gyms and amusement parks, considered high-density venues, are expected to reopen next if the number of new Covid-19 infections continues to drop for another week. The Public Health Emergency Operation Centre held a meeting with representatives of eight business clusters in the kingdom to discuss preparations for the next stage of easing the coronavirus lockdown. The meeting was also attended by relevant agencies such as the Interior Ministry, the Tourism and Sports Ministry, the Public Health Ministry, City Hall and local governing bodies. It resulted in a nod for the reopening of shopping malls, restaurants and food shops in shopping malls, health and wellness businesses including spas and massage parlours, beauty salons, fitness centres and gymnasiums, meeting and seminar convention venues, film production locations, amusement parks and water parks. However, the number of new cases in the kingdom must stay low for another week before the businesses can reopen.1 point

Staying alone in Thailand. Do you ?
WelshGuyUK reacted to Archchan for a topic
Having retired now and having a room in Jomptien which I usually visit twice a year I have the option of moving to Pattaya permanently. The question is should I ? Wondering how many others stay alone in Thailand and does it work for you ? Do you get lonely or have you adjusted ? I realize we are all different but would be interested in thoughts of others and particularly if you are already in Thailand. Follow these forums regularly and have gained a lot of help from many here over the past year. Thanks to all who post such great reports and information.1 point -
Spas, massage parlours make the next cut
floridarob reacted to DivineMadman for a topic
Perhaps worth keeping in mind that businesses have been allowed to re-open -- but only under the "new normal" rules. Screening, social distancing, masks (duh), limitations on number of customers allowed in at any time, plexiglass dividers between tables, etc. (I assume everyone has seen the pictures). Barbers have to wear masks and shields. Some mainstream massage shops are already planning for that to be required. In China, Shanghai Disneyland is reopening and tickets sold out almost immediately. But there will be all the usual health precautions and more, and right now limited to only 30% of capacity. Personally I think this is being handled quite well by the Thai authorities. There will always be slip-ups and it will take some time for the real "now normal" to evolve, but they're good, small steps forward. Here's what we might expect from one of the better-known legit(-ish) massage places.1 point -
Whats left that is still not allowed to open after this round of easing? Concerts, sports events and traveling i supposed. Im surprised that seminar, conventions, amusement and water park is included as well as these has been one of the crowded places with high chances of spreading the virus with high turnover of people coming from various location nationwide (and worldwide once they ease travelling). Glad to see thailand is opening up faster than i imagine.1 point

So cute: How are these sites related? Bel Ami family?
tassojunior reacted to gmine for a topic
Just looked at some of the Duca Di Mantua scenes. I think they're just pirated Bel Ami scenes, with different intro graphics. Bel Ami removed a lot of older scenes from their website (and also Kinky Angels etc), so there's a chance they might have licensed them to other companies, but it's unlikely. These "companies" don't even have websites of their own so I suspect they just grab content from other porn studios and pretend they own it.1 point -

China, S. Korea restrictions lifted
reader reacted to DivineMadman for a topic
Personally, I took Secretary Mnuchin's more to mean exactly what he said - "too soon to tell" as far as international travel was concerned for the remainder of the year. He acknowledged there will be some very limited, necessary business travel. Implicitly his observation about business travel means there will some flights. I think there will almost certainly be some limited travel by regular folks as well. I don't think Mnuchin is particularly keyed into when countries in SE Asia will begin opening their doors or on what conditions. The various lockdown restrictions that various countries have in place remain. In typical Bangkok Post fashion, even the headline of the article that started this thread is inaccurate. The idea of opening the door to Thailand for travelers from China and S Korea is just something that was floated. The restrictions haven't been "lifted." And that particular idea is hardly news. There have been very very public discussions before about the need to get essential business travelers back into Thailand. The Chinese government has told its people no international leisure travel for the time being - I forget whether the restriction was until October or the New Year (and which New Year).1 point -
From Coconuts Bangkok Only 250 passengers per train To keep people at arm’s length or more aboard the BTS Skytrain, transportation authorities today ordered train capacity cut by three-quarters. After Tuesday morning’s breakdown created worrying scenes of packed platforms and bogies that drew criticism from commuters unable to practice social distancing, the Transport Ministry today said only 250 rather than 1,000 passengers would be allowed to board each train of four cars. “Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we must practice social distancing, therefore we cannot pack all 1,000 people into a single train,” Chaiwat Tongkamkoon, permanent transport secretary, said Friday. Passengers must stay 1 meter apart to help decrease the risk of COVID-19 infection. Chaiwat said the BTS operator has increased frequency of train arrivals to accommodate commuters during rush hours, with the Sukhumvit Line running trains every 2.4 minutes and the Silom Line roughly every 3.5 minutes. Currently the BTS Skytrain operates 98 trains, each of which has four cars, making for 392 cars in total. Chaiwat did not elaborate on how the measures would be enforced, nor did he discuss how platforms would be kept safe if the reduced capacity led to longer waits.1 point

I loved the series. I thought the sets and costumes are great. Who would be so petty as to focus on whether Patti Lupone has gained weight when she is acting her heart out? That gas station was played quite well. Ryan Murphy is trying to show us what Hollywood could have been, and I, along with millions of others, am along for the ride. If I could have seen positive gay role models when I was young it would have changed my life. There can be no doubt about that. Now Jim Parsons as the nasty agent was not the role I would have preferred, but his character, a self-loathing, pompous closet queer who criticizes everything as not good enough for him, well, we have to live with that even today. So if you are a normal red-blooded homosexual without pretensions of being a New York assistant on some minor film, you will find a lot to enjoy here. If you want something to make your skin crawl, focus on the disdain that the real Hollywood had for women, people of color, and gays. Then enjoy this alternate look and come tell us about it.1 point

Hollywood by Ryan Murphy
nycman reacted to RockHardNYC for a topic
I think it's absolutely dreadful. I had to stop watching after the utterly fake Academy Awards scene, with Rock Hudson kissing his Black lover, Archie, for all to see. What the fuck is Ryan Murphy smoking? Like most Ryan Murphy TV shows, Netflix's Hollywood is total camp fantasy. It's not the worst thing on television, but it's far from great. Period productions are not cheap. They're spending some serious money on this one, and most of that money should have gone to the unemployed freelancers. Still, for a gay audience, there is some fun eye candy. David Corenswet may be wearing too much make-up, but he sure looks sexy naked. His pairing with Judd Apatow's daughter is limp-wristed, but the marriage is supposed to be rocky. His character manages to fend off the gay predators, but the story would be far more interesting had he fallen prey, like so many straight men did in the 50's and 60's. Rob Reiner as a studio chief is perfect. Patti LuPone as his over-produced wife is a stretch. Patti has gained some serious weight in recent years. To play this part, she is corseted and wigged for RuPaul's Drag Race. One can only imagine her pain while shooting her scenes. The costumers wrapped her in so much fabric, thinking that might slender her down. Fail. She's too fat to do sex scenes with young Hollywood hunks. It's all embarrassingly laughable. I wanted to vomit as Corenswet went down on her to lick her pussy. You may have to look quick, but certain poses reveal how thick Patty is in the middle. They try to cover it with ridiculous sleeve tricks, but it all looks excessive. Jaye Picking would be fine as a high school jock on Glee, but he's no Rock Hudson. Awful casting. The fake teeth are SO BAD after he visits the dentist. Laura Harrier does not look real or believable to me as a Black actress of the time. I'm not buying her relationship with Darren Criss' character either. Criss may be straight in real life, but he films gay (or soft), no matter what you do with him. I love the mega talented Jeremy Pope but I think he's totally miscast as Rock Hudson's lover. I'm not convinced the Hollywood cameras like his face. He's better suited on stage. The self-hating homo scumbag agent, Henry Willson, is perfectly played by Jim Parsons,, wearing a ton of make-up. However, why the fuck can't the make-up artists match his face skin to his body? Willson must have been a monster in real life. He died a penniless addict with an unmarked grave. One can only imagine the famous cocks he sucked. Dylan McDermott as famous pimp Scotty Bowers is annoying, if you can get past that awful grey wig. Holland Taylor going after Joe Mantello made my skin crawl. I think she's old enough to be Joe's mother, and "Dick" is gay. Good grief. How the fuck did this shit get financed? There is a great story to be told about this time in history, but this isn't it.1 point -
When booking domestic flights on Avianca switch your location to Colombia on the home page of the website(you can then view the site in either english or spanish). You will pay in Colombian pesos but will generally save significant money vs the USA version of the site even if your credit card changes a conversion fee(my Capitol One card does not).1 point

Part 5 - foursome: Per our discussion, Claudio sent me photos of 3 of his willing friends. Before I opened them I already thought that a 5some would really be toooo much, but one turned out to be unattractive, so I told him to bring 'only' the other two. They came on Thursday; this was to be my farewell-sex. He texted me from reception, but when I came down - a problem arose. The lady receptionist (who previously just took IDs) said that according to the rules only two guests at the same time are allowed. I answered that this isn't mentioned in the paper with 'list of rules" handed to me upon check-in (which was true), and that I checked it with them when making the reservation (which wasn't). She repeated again and again the rule, disregarding my objections. I broke the stalemate when I added that turning away a guest is unheard of in terms of hospitality and good manners, anywhere in the world - let alone in a hotel. She relented. Everything was managed politely, and the guys waited patiently. Since neither of Claudio's friends spoke a word of English, we proceeded immediatelly to undress, and I was looking at three handsome coffee-colored youngsters. Louis was thin and tall, Claudio is lean-athletic, and Roberto is a bodybuilder. What's more important - I told Roberto that his dick is like a" cannon" in term of length, girth, firmness and angle. He liked the concept and laughed at the way I pronounced it. This was my first time to enjoy three dicks simultaneously, and I savoured the moment. First, paying my respect to each one individually, then dealing with two together, and then all three. We started me kneeling on the floor, sucking one while rubbing the the others on my left and right. I felt like I was in a porn vid. After executing a couple of rotations, we moved to the bed. Claudio focused on pleasuring me, whie I was enjoying his friends. They were tops so they didn't suck, but at least Roberto invested in caressing me and my nipples (staying away from my dick). I wish I could report I held out for 3 hours, but all this went on for half that time. I climaxed again in Claudio's mouth, while sucking on roberto's cannon, and fondeling Louis' dick. JOB WELL DONE! Arranging this without Manny, I saved paying him 3,000 pesos for 3 guys. Each got the customary 2,500. I added 500 to Roberto, and 1,500 to Claudio. The photo doesn't do justice to their dicks. I was too excited to focus on the best moment and angle. Next time I'll devote more to directing and photgraphy. However, it DOES serve as a great reminder of me my eyes my hands my mouth being within centimeters of 3 cocks!!!1 point
