I have to laugh to not cry. And it's far from just Michigan, there've been multiple protests in Huntington Beach and yesterday there was one in downtown LA (though I doubt there were many assault weapons at either...). Armed white men with flags or patches of America's enemies being allowed to protest armed to the teeth in stark contrast to the response to #blacklivesmatter is absolutely disgusting. As always, Trump has said these are "very fine people".1 point

no reason that would make much sense, but sense is not a requirement here. The original ban was not from 2-5 (of May) but over Songkran, which did make some sense. But then they decided to extend it, and after the extension was due to expire extended it again until May 31st, before making another of their now (in)famous u-turns and allowing it. The original rationale was supposedly to prevent illegal nightly drinking parties. Well not they had dense crowds seizing the newly available beer at the shops, there are some vids on the net showing social distancing at its best! TiT, again. Here is an example:1 point

My guess is that amazon used regular international flights for shipping. If you have the packages sent to a friend in the USA or UK, DHL still ships into and out of Thailand.1 point

Sondheim 90th Birthday Benefit Concert
TotallyOz reacted to DivineMadman for a topic
In case you didn't see it live - and with the technical issues delay - the benefit concert last night (U.S. time) "Take Me to the World: A Sondheim 90th Birthday Benefit Celebration" to benefit ASTEP (Artists Striving to End Poverty) is available on YouTube. It's great. Just great. The YouTube link can be found on the Broadway.com site: http://www.broadway.com/sondheim901 point -
A good step. I thought the ban was to keep people from partying. Successful or not, letting people drink in their homes is good during these troubling times. I don't drink and I think I want some wine.1 point

Added to my Netflix list. May wait until season 3 arrives then binge watch all 3 seasons.1 point

Why the Daddy Site Is Dead (to me, at least...)
SoCal reacted to SexyAsianStud for a topic
I know this has been said many times before, but.... you are totally correct that the nasty Daddy and his Kapos have a god complex, or, perhaps an emperor complex,, but at this point The Emperor Has No Clothes (ughhh what a horrible image that conjures up!) It is tragic but Daddy and his sidekicks have a grossly inflated sense of self - his sad little site's Politics Forum is now home to several brave souls who somehow manage to try to hold back the tide of absolute craziness there -- right wing conspiracy theorists, racist trolls, Trump cultists, and so on... all of whom no matter how vicious their behaviors may be escape punishment by DADDY because they obviously reflect the czar's mindset. Never have I encounter a site so friendly to the worst people out there. And who DOES get banned? Anyone who dares to stand up for what is just and what is fair and has the courage to do so in a manner that pisses off some right wing queen. My banishment ends June 1 but there is no way I am posting there again. Let the Gang of Three (BSR, Bnac, and especially senile Augustus) post away. No one pays attention to these needy sad losers. OK, enough for now. Back to posting pictures of my little Asian butt!1 point -

The music was great. It was the testimonials, however, of two of my favorite Broadway actors, Nathan Lane and Jason Alexander, who told us stuff we really didn’t know before about the man. It also reminded me what I missed about the city. In the brief lead-in to the performance, the audience hears what was once typical street sounds from the theater district (traffic, horns). I realized immediately that that was also what I missed. This somehow got me to thinking what I’m truly missing about Bangkok, and Silom in particular: that cacophony of the street. Hawkers, waiters, barmen, vendors, masseurs all angling for my attention. A stream of faces comes to mind that I can recall clearly. But the individual voices I find increasingly difficult to recapture with the same precision. And I fear losing them. To me, Bangkok would always be there. For 18 years it was just a matter of going. Now that that has changed, I’m more aware than ever of what I had come to take for granted.1 point

From Bangkok Post The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration plans to reopen restaurants, markets, exercise venues, parks, hairdressers, clinics, animal hospitals and grooming parlours, golf courses and driving ranges. Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang said on Tuesday the city's current lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19 was set to expire at midnight on Thursday. The BMA had informed the government of its plan to reopen venues in eight categories, with strict conditions to ensure disease control. The communicable disease committee would make a decision on Wednesday. He did not specify a reopening date, but officials expected it would be Friday. He said restaurants would have to seat customers 1.5 metres apart, comply with opening hours as restricted by the emergency decree, and not sell alcoholic beverages. Markets and flea markets would be allowed to sell their usual goods. Sports and exercise facilities would be opened for activities that do not require people to gather closely - such as walking, running, badminton, tennis and table tennis. Sports that require teams, or players in close contact, would continue to be suspended. They included football, softball, volleyball and basketball, and also fitness classes. Parks would reopen, but visitors would be prohibited from forming groups. Barbers and hairdressers could provide only hair washing, cutting and drying, and must stop for cleaning every two hours. Customers would not be allowed to wait at the shops, and would have to make appointments. Staff would be required to wear face masks and face shields. Pet grooming shops and pet hospitals would reopen, but a customer could bring only one pet at a time. The premises would have to close for cleaning every two hours. Health clinics would reopen, but beauty clinics would remain closed. Golf courses and driving ranges would reopen. Before entering such places, customers must have their body temperature checked, wear a face mask, clean their hands with soap or alcohol, and stay 1.5-2 metres apart from each other, the Bangkok governor said. Mr Aswin said he would wait for the government's decision on whether to lift the ban on sales of alcoholic beverages.1 point

What the hell did I just read? Guys stop feeding trolls....especially the ones who pretend to be some kind of Brazilian ethics experts or some kind of NGO owner in a forum about escorts. Just to inform people who have never been with a brazilian rentboy in Brazil, or to the ones who are bad observers. WAKE UP!!!! It's 2019 even in Brazil. The time of "desperate" guys selling their bodies to eat food in Brazil is well over for the vast majority of them (it's 30 years that the government is spending loads of money in social welfare) . The 2 sauna guys that i've been with on past tuesday, did have phones (iphone XS, 7000 BRL,; Iphone XS MAX 8790 BRL), clothes and bodies that would require monthly payments of at least 2 times the minimum salary (1000 BRL, the most common in Rio) for the next 12 months, while living both into a favela-looking bairro. Most of the rent guys are selling their own bodies because it's the best and quickest way to earn a TON of money for brazilian standards; and that's the amount of money required to buy those useless privileges (BRANDED THINGS) that we all like and which are at the opposite side of where an essential good would be. And there's nothing wrong about this, especially in an extremely openminded culture like the brazilian one. These guys are doing a job which involves meeting even rude customers or lowballers....don't worry....they're not stupid and they know how to act. They could not care less about getting referred as goods. What these guys really need is respect, treating them like professionals, selling a service... and trying to make them looking like poor and stupid hungry desperate people, unable to do anything but getting abused by rich tourists from around the world...it's far from being respectful.1 point -
Have you given any thought to how those "underprivileged guys" could or would survive and/or support their family without the opportunity to make money doing what they do with tourists (that you demeaned in your prior posts)? In connection with paying the guys "bargain basement prices" - - - - what do you propose? Should tourists disrupt the local economy and pay many times the going rate locals pay for prostitutes? If tourists did that, hostility and resentment would build between tourists and the locals. Prostitution is a big and bustling business in many countries, especially in Brazil. Your posts indicate that you "cannot see the forest because the trees are in the way."1 point
