  1. I went to Bangkok for the second time ever in Summer 2019, and visited Babylon on a Sunday afternoon. The place was packed and I was making out with various boys all over the facility. I ended up in that very dark, very erotic steam room, with bodies on top of each other. I suddenly came face to face with a very cute Thai guy, and it was like a Hallmark movie meet-cute -- but instead of accidentally spilling coffee on me, he instantly dropped to his knees and took my cock in his mouth. It was so hot - other guys were sucking on my chest and kissing me. We eventually went to a cabin for some really fun private time, and then emerged for some time in the dark jacuzzi. To me, that is the most erotic place I have ever been in my life -- right out of a 1970's porn. Nothing too hardcore. Mostly just guys kissing and sucking and stroking each other underwater, all is dark silence. My new friend and I made out while guys sucked us off. Eventually, we made it to the locker-room and I asked if he wanted to have dinner. We got dressed and jumped on moto-taxis to Silom. (Again, it felt like an upside-down romance movie, hooking up first at a gay bathhouse and then a romantic bike ride into the night, for a sweet dinner -- like a date in reverse.) We ate on Silom Road and I learned he was a marine engineer, traveling the world fixing massive ships, but was currently living with his family on a small Thai island. He was in Bangkok for a conference.) We went back to my hotel after and had a wonderful time together, and he slept over. We definitely both fell in love that night. I left for Koh Samui the next morning and we kept in touch by Line. We met up again in Bangkok two weeks later and had a WILD NIGHT at the foam party at Babylon. It exceeded my wildest expectations. Definitely the most erotic, crazy night of my life. (I wonder if Thais realize that these experiences are not available in most parts of the world.) My marine engineer and I still keep in touch via Line and hope to reunite sometime this year.

Is it possible? Yes anything is possible! Is it probable? NO! It not going to happen if you are going to Brazil for a week or two once a year! If you are not going back at a minimum every 3 months or so for a couple weeks or living there, then you are just another lonely guy looking for love in the wrong place! i understand as guys hit their 40’s and 50’s feeling the need to be loved and/or someone special in his life! but the chances of that happening where one person is 25 yrs + older and is the one with the income/career and the other is attractive in his 20’s sauna guy...everyone understands the “dance” especially the sauna guys! this was told to me by a Brazilian Sauna owner on my 2nd trip to Rio in early 2002 “remember, once a sauna boy always a sauna boy! It makes no difference if they worked there a month or a year you will always represent a $$ figure to them! I have found out he was so right! Guy in professional and semi-professional positions ate looking for a way out of Brazil and a American or European or Australian is their idea of fast tracking their situation! I know 3 Americans over the years who thought their situation with their guy was different! They were all wrong! The same thing is going on right now with Venezuelan guys and wealthier Mexicans! Again I know of severaljust in the city of Mérida where I have a home! Go to Brazil enjoy the sex fall in lust but not in love! Btw the above happened to me as well, I had to learn the hard way! Brazil is a great little place and I have a lot of friends there and you’ve may find love there it just won’t be in the sauna! Good luck!

  3. My first, obviously! May 1997. Dinner in Sphinx (probably squid salad and chicken with cashew nuts because that's always my favourite), a companion from Khun Cigar (sic), near Tantawan. And the next day, my first trip to Babylon which was then in its old premises .

  5. I speak for myself only and my answer will be yes, if plane will be flying and countries will be admitting without unreasonable restrictions I will fly. My first trip was shortly after 9/11 and I took it against all advice, worked well. I understand virus threat is completely different matter and much harder to prevent but at one point we need to start normal lives.

Then that is a big difference...if you are looking for age comparable guys then you might be able to find that... I'm sure there are a ton of attractive 30 and 40 years old in Rio who are not looking for money but maybe a boyfriend.... Your best chance of meeting guys like this would be in professional settings, upscale locales around Rio...not too sure if you will find something substantial off the apps either since a lot of the guys on the apps are looking for money OR a good time... You knowing Portuguese is also useful...

  8. Excerpted from Khaosod English What It’s Like to Catch, and Survive, the Coronavirus in Thailand BANGKOK — Speaking from his condo, Singaporean expat Jay Feng asked other people currently in self-isolation at their homes to stay calm and not to panic. He knew a thing or two about the coronavirus; in fact, he survived it. Feng, who recovered several weeks after he first tested positive earlier this month, said he beat the virus by monitoring his symptoms early on, keeping a positive mindset even when he was in enormous physical pain, and relying on the sheer strength of his immune system. Plus a well-covered insurance plan. “The most important thing is to not panic. The Thai healthcare system is actually very good,” Feng said in a telephone interview. “The authorities are fairly decent. Even if you don’t speak Thai, communicate your symptoms and medical history very clearly.” Feng, 36, is the owner of Ohana Poke restaurant on Wireless Road, and leads what he describes as a very healthy, active lifestyle – he never smoked, exercised regularly, eats a very healthy diet, and gets lots of sleep. But on March 8, he woke up with a strange body ache. He bought a thermometer at a nearby pharmacy and stayed at home the whole day, but it didn’t go away. “Usually I get well quickly, even if I don’t get sick often,” he said. “But it was a body ache not like I bumped into something, but like my whole body crashed into something.” The next day, he decided to get checked out at Bangkok Christian Hospital, even though he didn’t have a fever. After about 20 or so tests for other diseases, the doctors asked if he would also like to get a test for COVID-19, but be admitted for the night. However, Feng did not meet the criteria for free coronavirus test, which include a fever over 37.5C, recent visit to a high-risk country, or close contact with a proven case. Still, he chose to get tested out of an abundance of caution. “I chose to pay out of my pocket because I see people every day have it. I just admit myself and do the test, lah,” he said. Feng was wheeled to the quarantine area and nurses stuck swabs about 20 centimeters down his nose and throat (“It’s a terrible feeling, very unpleasant. But you get used to it.”) as well as a blood sample. Feng was feeling relatively well – until 1am that night. He woke up, inexplicably cold, with a dull pain in his left lung. He got some paracetamol from the nurses. At 3am, he woke up dazed, incoherent, with his hospital gown drenched in sweat, with the pain increasing. He measured a 37.7C fever. “This is when it hit me. I was completely, completely, shocked. I was lost for 30 seconds, don’t know how to react. I was completely dazed,” Feng recalled. “I started shaking because of the sickness and receiving this news and battling my emotions.” While nurses were quickly packing his things, Feng mentally ran through the people he had been in close contact with. He called and messaged his family, loved ones, and employees. “I tested positive, you need to get tested and isolate yourself,” he said. Feng was sent to the state-owned Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute on March 10, where “The VIP treatment continued. I was in a wheelchair, and all the lift and pathways were cleared for you,” he said. He would spend the next two weeks in a negative pressure isolation ward. His ward was separated from the corridor by a containment room where nurses would leave medicine and the mae baan would leave his food. He could only go in if there was no one else in it. The ward itself had his hospital bed, a sofa bed, three windows with blinds, a table, and a chair. The bathroom was spacious and the shower had a heater. “It was new equipment, excellent, and clean. High tech, with lots of motion sensors. There were few physical buttons to press,” Feng said. Doctors told him that he would get tested every two days for the virus. If he tested negative twice consecutively, then he would be discharged. The doctors could only treat his symptoms from now on – his immune system had to do the heavy lifting. The next few days were the worst, Feng recalled. His lungs were in pain, he was chronically tired, he was incoherent. “I had a dry cough, not like the scratchy kind or the kind with phlegm. It was like coughing my lungs out. I couldn’t sleep because of the aches,” he said. COVID-19 also came with a mental burden of guilt. Days four to seven, Feng was feeling slightly better but still very lethargic. Nurses took his vitals every four hours. He remembered high-tech equipment that would digitally capture his stats and send them online to the cloud, while doctors monitoring from afar would speak to him via speakerphone with excellent English. Feng was very disappointed on days 9 and 10 when he continued to test positive, even though he had no more symptoms. “The isolation really kicked in. You didn’t see anyone or the outside world, the air, the sun. I was mentally looking forward to going back to my regular life,” he said. “I felt lousy about it.” Fortunately, he tested negative on Day 11. “Just one more, and I can go home,” he told himself. And he did on Day 12. After a negotiation with his insurance agent at Krungthai Axa, the entirety of his 147,000 baht medical costs were covered by the firm. It would have been a considerable bill otherwise. His one day stay at Bangkok Christian Hospital alone amounted to 50,000 baht, and his 12-day stay at Bamrasnaradura cost about 97,000 baht. His close contacts also received free coronavirus tests due to their history of coming in close proximity with Feng. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/featured/2020/03/30/what-its-like-to-catch-and-survive-the-coronavirus-in-thailand/

  10. If you get bored during your self-isolation, Ozark staring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney is excellent. Each season gets better and Season three just popped on Netflix and I would not stop watching it. Great acting and great story. They really do develop these characters and it is enjoyable to watch the family struggle through so many roadblocks.

    Cuomo for President?

Maureen Dowd today writes a kickass column about New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. He has his faults, but he sure looks to be a better candidate than Joe Biden. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/27/opinion/sunday/cuomo-new-york-coronavirus.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepagehttps://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/27/opinion/sunday/cuomo-new-york-coronavirus.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage

    Pattaya Shuts Down

So you wanted somebody to respond to you in a eloquent way saying the same thing that has been answered 50 million times in the forum When you end up a tragic case of I told you so, please report back on that... You basically asked a question that you knew the answer to... And NO I don't understand getting older and wanting sincere, real love with somebody half your age...I live in reality and not a fantasy world.... This whole post just made me understand that there are a lot of dummies in the world, even more... You can not be serious about finding love in the saunas with men/boys half your age who are WORKING...WHAT THE .....Nevermind Its clear that some of you guys were never loved enough as kids and haven't learned self love as an adult...You can not be that naive OR thirsty.... Brazil AINT where you go to find love....No matter how good looking, how rich, how nice, how special YOU think you are

^ *coroas, not coronas. ”Coroa” is a slang term that, depending on the context in which it is used, when used by itself often means “older sugar daddy”, similar but not quite as long-term or expensive as the term “patrocínador” (sponsor). Since “velho” simply means “older man”, “coroa” is a slang term, often used pejoratively but sometimes not, that can be used for either “daddy” / “mommy” or (more likely) “sugar daddy” / “sugar mama”. It can be used derisively at times, but if used positively, it’s usually used with those one is quite familiar with — like with a live-in uncle or jokingly with an older workout partner, but not usually with a stranger. Again, it’s all about context, and without really knowing both a good deal of modern, Brazilian Portuguese slang (spoken by millennials and younger) AND the context in which it is being said and used, it’s really unwise to broadly state that when a younger brasileiro states they are looking for “coroas”, that he isn’t looking for money (or gifts, or someone to pick up the tab), and isn’t presuming that he is much more likely to get those things from an older guy than someone closer to his own age. Of course, in some cases, “coroa” could just refer to a man who is older in age and appearance. It’s all contextual, and being able to discern and pick up on spoken and unspoken clues is important here.

  18. Following z909's post, I wish I'd added the fact that I'd already been to Pattaya three or four times where I experienced that same thrill of seeing cute guys who were available ...for a pittance. In fact, apart from Babylon, I was eager to get the bus to Pattaya where there were more of my type available. Not only that, but I was staying at a gay hotel (LeCafe Royale) where assignations were expected. In Bangkok, I'd used scuzzy short-time rooms because I didn't want to take visitors to my 4* hotel.

  20. The beach seems quite busy still, with pimps, streetwalkers and farang milling around. Social distancing not being observed and I'm surprised by the number of elderly farang still on the beach and not isolating themselves. Everyone has an equal chance of being infected by this virus if exposed to it but the impact on the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions (COPD, asthma, heart disease, hypertension, etc) is worse. Click on the link below for the video. Please take care, everybody. https://youtu.be/dwLZbmO41ao

@Sunchaser12 I can't wait to hear Tom's answer to this but the question is WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? And what do you look like? If your goal is to find a lover or a boyfriend in Rio....Probably is not going to happen unless you are youngish...very attractive and can speak Portuguese... If you are looking for a sugar daddy or boyfriend experience...you can most definitely get that.... It is going to be transactional all day long....now you may be able to develop a "friendship" with some of the guys you meet in Brazil but you will be paying for meals or lodging or evenings out to party or simply giving them money....UNLESS you are young and hot and attractive and they just want to hang out with you... You are asking a question that has been answered time and time again within this forum and based on how you positioned that question, you are naive and a little delusional.... You want to have a good time in a country that offers that for a price...don't go into it thinking that one of the guys is going to fall in love with you because you are such a nice guy because you will simply be looked at as a walking ATM... @Tomcal I can't wait for you to answer this again...Smile

  23. sadly , suspicion of human trafficking is plausible explanation. People are tricked promised good jobs , send off with all decorum including return ticket and booked accommodation and they finish up in servitude or outright slavery in some brothel , farm or fish processing ship. World is beautiful place but not THAT beautiful for many.

  24. I found this link: https://immigration.gov.ph/faqs/travel-req There are some clues what the "problem" could be: "Passenger discloses a doubtful, false or suspect travel intent" (if the guy doesn't know the name of the hotel, is this already doubtful? or if the guy is travelling with a white guy 3x his age?) "Passenger’s totality of circumstances manifests a well-founded certainty of human trafficking, smuggling or illegal recruitment" There are also some rules about "sponsored-travel" (if you pay the flight for the guy, is this already sponsored travel?) So basically if an immigration officer doesn't want a filippino to leave the country it is rather easy to find a reason.

  26. I enjoyed Greg Austin's performance as Gordon Selfridge in Mr. Selfridge, playing Jeremy Piven's son. He's all grown up now playing Travis Leach, a young Nazi killer, in Amazon's Hunters. As a Nazi, Austin is absolutely mesmerizing and terrifying, before saying one word of dialogue. The camera loves his face, and in a very deliberate and subtle manner, this boy's talent jumps off the screen with mere facial expressions. Most definitely, he's an actor to watch. He's married to a woman, so I assume he's straight, but damn what eye candy for gay men. It sure would be fun to see him play gay, a la Timothée Chalamet in a terrific project.

  27. Stijntje is right. Websites that store actual passwords are not secure by today's standards. Anyone at the hosting service where the database is stored can access the passwords of everybody using this site. So can anyone who knows how to hack into the hosting service, and there are plenty of those - see the frequent headlines. Yes, you can mitigate the risk following z909's recommendations (I certainly do!) but even so, someone hostile (and there must be many people who disapprove of this site) could use your credentials to impersonate you here. Best practice "industry standard" 2019-style requires that at a minimum, any site with password access should store not the password but some kind of cryptographic hash of it. When you log in, the system computes the hash from your password, discards the password and compares its hash with the hash in the database. The password itself is never stored anywhere, and if anyone steals the database they cannot easily reverse the hash to recover the password. The fact that the site is SSL secured is irrelevant here - that protects your password against eavesdroppers as you log in, which is good, but it does nothing to protect the password database itself. (Incidentally, SSL hasn't been best practice for the last decade or so, having been replaced by TLS .) Emailing a forgotten password is also anything but best practice, since email is totally insecure, and messages could be read by anyone with access to any of the many routers and switches the email passes through. Bottom line: Any site that can tell you your password if you lose it, can tell anyone else too. Any site that tells you your password by email has also told an unknown number of other people. That's why if you forget a password, most of the sites you interact with today will email you, not the new password but a link to an HTTPS connection to create a new password. They don't tell you the old password, because they don't know it.

Thanks Tomcal and Redxs soooo much! Appreciate it... I was meant to travel but am in lockdown in NZ after leaving Sydney to travel. Tomcal as a seasoned expert and someone who has been so many times, I am keen to know your personal experience around finding a genuine connection with true affection with any of the garotos? I’m not naive but it would be nice if there is real friendship with romance, and natural tesao not simply something transactional where the guy is mostly straight, needs straight porn and viagra or has to close his eyes to think of someone else to get make it happen. Have you had anything long term or even relationships form out of this?
