In the USA, the President is one, among many, who believes the coronavirus will go away with the onset of warm weather. According to Alexa, the low temp in Bangkok is 25C. The high will be 30C. That means the reports of new cases in Thailand must be fake news.

The no travel zones for foreigners in the Philippines are mostly in the Muslim parts of Mindanao Island. And more specifically the areas near Marawi, Cotobato, Zamboanga, and Jolo or Sulu. I do not feel any part of Cebu Island is a problem or even the Cities of Cagayan de Oro or Davao on Minddanao. On most of the Island the guys are on Planet Romeo or Facebook. Does not matter if it is Cebu, Leyte, or Negros. Even Iloilo on Panay are beautiful places to travel. Just sign in and you will find many nice guys who want to meet. Then you have to sound them out as to what they are seeking. They may say Sex. But many want a Relationship, like in a BF or Daddy or Husband. And most want some foreigner to take good care of them. In the South there are not many Go-Go Bars and no Saunas. And the Massage places are all pretty straight. There are some hot men who offer Massage on Line and are available for Extra Services. Their rate is usually 1000 PHP (USD20), however I have seen some HOT men asking for 3000 PHP (USD60). I have not hired any so I do not know about how good they are and what to expect for extra services. Many hotels and resorts do have room safes. But I have found the Filipino guys to be trust worthy. Still you can ask about room safes or lock-boxes before you book. Jobs are a different issue. Many guys who are lucky enough to have a Job only get 1 or 2 days off. To take more days off for a trip they need to make arrangements with their Boss or Company. So plan ahead!! For guys in College the best times are the Breaks between Semesters. And check the Weather. Some months are subject to typhoons and heavy rains. No fun to go to a Beach Resort and have it rain all day! Other months there are afternoon rains, similar to Thailand. INGAT or "Take Care" as they say in Tagalog!!!

Ok I guess there won't be many new travel reports this year, so let me continue with mine. It was Makha Bucha day, so not all bars where open in Bangkok. I wanted to go to Luckyboys, but it was closed. So I went to Hotmale Bar. "We no have alcohol". No problem, I can drink orange juice. 5 minutes later the list of drinks miraculously expanded, but i was fine with my orange juice. Nice view from the bar down to the Patpong street. On the other hand also quite a few people with big cameras taking pictures of the 2nd floor from the street. After Hotmale Bar I went to Hotmale Gogo, then to Freshboys. It seemed like everything was closed on the right side of Patpong 2, while on the left side many bars where open (not sure about Screwboys, i think it was closed). Nothing to report that hasn't been reported yet. Enough boys. Some customers. Jupiter Inspired by reports about the midnight karaoke (thank you spoon!), i had that on my todo list (listening to songs, not singing ahem). Normally after midnight the preferred place for me to stay is my bed, so i decided to tick off this item as long as the jetlag was still favourable for late night activities (midnight in Bangkok, 6pm in Europe). There is a mandatory entrance fee even i you arrive close to midnight, and i don't think that changes after midnight (?) There where only a few customers, one bigger group engaged in some drinking games with some boys (must have been water, or does Makha Bucha day end at midnight on the dot?) I was sipping my drink until the singing started. Not sure if they ever mentioned there names, but now after rereading spoons report and doing some internet search i am pretty sure they where Poppy and PJ. Poppy, impressive stage presentation, very nice smile, clear voice, clear english pronounciation. Compiled by an American living in Pattaya, those reasons were gleaned from “many talks with people from many different backgrounds and cultures [...] not just the view from a barstool”. Some points the writer makes are close to correct, if horribly elucidated. Ignoring the subtext of in-group superiority in the statement, “There are simply more of them then [sic] us”, statistics show that Thailand does receive significantly more non-Western arrivals than Western ones. According to Ministry of Tourism & Sports data, 27.3 million of the nation’s visitors in 2019 came from East Asia (including Southeast Asia), with 2.4 million from South Asia, while Europe, the Americas and Oceania accounted for 6.7 million, 1.6 million and 900,000, respectively. Similarly, “We often don’t spend as much as people think” has some truth to it. In 2017, Chinese tourists each spent US$192.84 per day in Thailand. The next most extravagant visitors hailed from the Middle East, who dropped US$190.60 on average in a day. Taking up the rear as the tightest tourists were those from Europe, who each parted with just US$125.47 per day. However, Western tourists do tend to stay for significantly longer – Europeans for 17 days versus eight for the Chinese – and it all adds up. Governor Cuomo is not for everyone.. Chris Cuomo is more emotional and emphatic. But he has more time to get acquainted on CNN with guests who have suffered tragic family losses because of coronavirus. Andrew Cuomo is more serious than Trump and unlike the president doesn't moved around and seem bored when someone else is talking. I understand Trump is trying, but he apparently can't change after a lifetime of putting himself first.

Last night on CNN, Anderson Cooper, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and Dr. Anthony Fauci took questions on COVID-19 from viewers around the country. It was an interesting exchange. At one point, Anderson asked Fauci if he would travel by plane. The question did not seem easy or comfortable for anyone. It was live TV and there was noticeable hesitation. I'm sure Fauci was keenly aware that Trump might be watching, and if Fauci said anything negative that could affect the economy, Fauci's head might end up on the chopping block. Eventually, with careful wording, Fauci came around to say, "If the travel was for pleasure, I would not do it. I absolutely would not travel for pleasure." I am sure the moment was devastating for many people watching, especially workers in the airline and hospitality industries. Equally devastating was Katie Porter's shake down of Trump appointee, Dr. Robert Redfield, who is the current head of the CDC. Apparently, the video went viral. Trump can only get incompetent people to work for his administration, and the flagrant incompetence was on stage for all to see yesterday. This video is a MUST-SEE. Later in the evening, Rep. Katie Porter appeared on Lawrence O'Donnell's show to talk about the exchange, This video is also MUST-SEE: Katie Porter could probably run for president and win.

Mayor De Blasio filed today for State of Emergency status. Groups of 500 or more are now officially banned, but every leader is highly recommending "no gatherings." March Madness is closed, which is absolutely amazing (my son can't believe it). And Broadway theaters have shut down for the next month. I can't imagine what producers plan to do with all those tickets that can't be easily replaced. Dr. Anthony Fauci said this is just the beginning. It's not even the beginning of the middle. Trump's government is so fucked up. He never stops lying to the public.They have no clue when testing will be ready and available. China is doing a better job with testing.
