  2. Fox sauna friday It took us more than 1.5 hour to go from Feira de Sao Joaquim to sauna. The city was totally blocked by traffic jams. We were fearing to arrive too early but finally arrive around 6 pm. Facility is nice and clean. Patio at entrance with bar is pleasant and cool. We were immediately spotted as newcomers and tourists ie good cash dispensers. Boys are rather average (compared to Rio) with some exceptions. Rapidly the boldest guys came to introduce themselves and offer services. I went to visit the facility which is quite nice. Only one suite with shower ("Zen suite", 4 rooms with bed and no shower and 4 or 5 cabins with just a bench). During this visit, I met a cute guy with nice muscular body, a cute face and incredible abs. We agreed on a program and went to drink, chat and cuddle before going to the Zen suite. It was not exactly Zen but rather torrid. He was sexy as hell with his huge curved dick and harder than concrete abs. We went back to the bar to have a final drink. In the meanwhile, more boys have joined, some of them quite to my liking. Meanwhile, the buddy I am travelling had found a twink he liked. Problem was that it was his first visit to the place and he had to be accepted (the boy, not my buddy) by the owner of the sauna and the owner was supposed to come at 7 pm, then later, ... I continue chatting with various boys. One of them introduced me to the owner's son : Izabella. Even though he has the apperance of a woman, he still has a tool which is functionning. Must be quite small to fit into the underwear Izabella wears ... I did not check personnally though ... I do prefer the perfect six packs abs of my garoto After some time, after 8 pm, the owner had still not shown up. The boy who was visiting place for the first time could not go with my friend. I went to reception to put some pressure on the guy. I explained the problem to the guy. He seemed sorry but unable to do anything. I ended my speech with a threatening :"if this boy is not able to go now with my friend, we leave in 10 minutes". The reaction was immediate : "vou liberar ele" (I will give him clearance to enter). Generally speaking, I find the people in Salvador much more friendly than in Rio, much more ready to laugh at a practical joke. It is true for uber drivers, waiters, boys in sauna, people in the street, ... Back to Fox. There was live music that day. Good Brazilian music. I kept on speaking with boys. One from Belem was really great looking and when I told him that I had visited his city, he became even more friendly. Fox was good discovery. Best days there are Fridays and Sundays. BTW both boys (mine and my buddy's tried to increase their prices when in the room : mine to 200 R$, my buddy to ... 300 R$ (and in this last case, service was very poor). We sticked to the agreed amount. I tipped mine by 20 R$ since service has been superb.

    Gay Da Nang

Got some questions at SGT, will copy answer to here as well: Here is problem: as I mention above, I receive about 50% of offers "to practice English", so I don't accept offers from "masseurs"... That why I wrote only about "asking prices".- I don't hire moneyboys since I have enough offers from students.for free, moreover - I even don't initiate contacts - just waiting for offers. Some additional info: under the same filters "online with photo below 30 yo" in Hornet was about 5-10 boys on the distance 5 km. Some photos were clearly marked by "watermark" "massage boy". At Romeo "below 30 and with photo" was only 3 accounts, from which only 1 sometimes was online. Few additional details about trip what worth to mention: - just 1.5 months ago in Da Nang opened "spa for men" HPL. with reception, changing room, shower and sauna on the first floor, shower, recreation and private cabins with sofas on second floor and massage room on third floor. Will write about it later. - in the center of the city is located coffeehouse "Highland coffee" what very visible is cruising spot: a lot of guys are sitting there and waiting for meetings. First contact they make via Blued right in shop.. - Blued has internal translator, so communication is possible even when guy doesn't speak English at all - most of visible photos in accounts are fake, for to get real photo you should ask - never agree on videochats in Blued with person whom you don't know - they will try to turn chat into cybersex and then will sell this video to pornsites (it is good idea to setup Blued to accept videocalls only from persons whom you follow) Now I'm in Saigon.

    Thai massage

one day it will be somebody brave enough to nominate deservedly Thai entertainment zones of Patpong, Nana, Cowboy, Walking Street and Jomtien as World Heritage sites and THAT will be reason to celebrate . And no , I'm not making fun here, think about that, out of 100 people who know about Pattaya there;s may be 5 who know what Ayuthaya is, already on the Unseco list

    Carnival in Rio?

I have a chance to get almost free tix to Rio around Carnival and I'm wondering how safe it is, hotel availability, and if there is any interruption in the sauna scene. I go to Mardi Gras in NOLA usually and have never thought of getting to Carnival. I haven't been to Rio since Rogers Thermas days.

  6. I was asked about whether guys are available... Not that I am aware of. The gay scene has declined a lot over the last 10 years. There used to be 2-3 gay male brothels in the city centre, guys for hire on the Sea Point beach promenade at night, several gay bars and coffee shops in the CBD as well as gay guys advertising massage services in the classified section of the local paper. And historically there was lot of cruising activity in the major gay gym (Virgin Active in Green Point), more take-away than consume-on-the-premises. The notorious highlight was one year when a vacationing American porn star after his work out put on a show in the steam-room as he auto-fellated. There was quite a line of guys trying to get into the steam-room. When I first visited and was single, I met a male model in a bar. He stayed over at my hotel for breakfast and all it cost me was 2 beers in a bar. I’d meet guys at the beach or the gym and get sucked off for free. Sometimes a guy might need to be invited for lunch first and that might cost $15. One time, I met a visiting Brazilian model who was very handsome and in Cape Town for work but very lonely; that cost me a seafood dinner and 2 bottles of wine - turned out to be a great investment of maybe $70. I’d say then that it was most unusual to be asked for cash; the invitation for a drink or a meal made it less transactional. Like everywhere, I guess the action has moved online to the apps. There is still a gay bar (now billed as the only openly gay bar in Africa) and a gay cafe. There’s also a gay sauna in the city centre. There’s also gay nudism and cruising at Sandy Bay, a beach south of Llandudno, about 20kms south from the city (but NB men have been robbed there). I am talking here of athletic or muscled young white guys that I met. In the past, I was propositioned by some black guys, whom I suspected were G4P, but I’ve no idea what they did or what they charged. I’m told there is a whole scene of Cape Coloured guys - don’t criticise me, that’s the term they use about themselves; they are mixed race - involved in male prostitution and servicing black men at the main railway station (a very high crime risk zone). Also, some educated Cape Coloured guys studying at university discreetly seek ‘sugar daddies’ in the bars and clubs to finance their studies. I thought I’d post this in the Africa section too in case anyone searches in future.

  7. Excerpted from NYTimes BANGKOK — The coconut wood pestle hits the mortar, and the chili fumes rise in a cough-inducing haze. The lime rind bruises. Salted crab releases its funk, along with bits of claw and carapace. Shreds of green papaya are tossed in, bathed in a blast of fermented fish paste tempered by palm sugar. The smell is alive and dead, asphyxiating and alluring all at once. More than anything, this green papaya salad, made in a street cart by a woman who has been wielding her pestle for three and a half decades, provides the perfume of Bangkok. But street food vendors — with their pungent salads, oodles of noodles and coconut sweetmeats — have lately become the target of some of the capital’s planners. To them, this metropolis of 10 million residents suffers from an excess of crowds, clutter and health hazards. The floods, the heat, the stench of clogged canals and rotting fruit, the pok pok pok of that pestle — it’s all too much. They prefer an air-conditioned Bangkok, with malls, ice-skating rinks and Instagrammable dessert cafes. They want the street food vendors gone. And so Somboon Chitmani, who has been making green papaya salad in the streets of Bangkok for 36 years, waits. By the end of this year, she has heard, street cooks could be cleared out of central Bangkok. Already, the number of areas designated for street food has decreased from 683 three years ago to 175, according to the Network of Thai Street Vendors for Sustainable Development. Sakoltee Phattiyakul, the deputy governor of Bangkok, dismissed fears that street food would be gone from Bangkok this year. “No, no, no, we’re not going to ban to zero,” he said, stressing that a local government initiative to clear the city’s sidewalks of clutter was “just a plan that we have had for years.” Others within the government bureaucracy have sent a different message, though, leaving vendors spooked. Earlier this month, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration said the sidewalk cleanup campaign was moving ahead. “If they want to get rid of us, we can’t do anything to protest because it’s the law,” Ms. Somboon said. “But Bangkok to me is about street food. Without it, it wouldn’t feel the same.” Nearly 15 percent of Thailand’s citizens live in Bangkok, and many cling to the fringes of one of the world’s most unequal societies. The capital’s notorious traffic forces long commutes, meaning it’s often impractical to return home to eat lunch, or even dinner until late. Besides, many people rent lodging without kitchens. Street food is also a family business for Nitisak Trachoo, whose parents have pushed a pair of food carts across Bangkok for 27 years. Mr. Nitisak, 28, once worked as a bellboy but two years ago, when his parents asked him for help, he returned to the streets. Each day, as demure office workers and tourists in short shorts watch, he pours streams of green batter into a mold for tiny cakes fragrant with the vanilla-like juice of the pandan leaf, a common flavoring in Southeast Asia. On a recent afternoon, steam wafted from the griddle, adding a syrupy note to the humid air. “Being a bellboy is a lot easier,” Mr. Nitisak said, mopping away sweat. “But when my parents asked me to help I came right away because it’s the Thai way.” https://www.nytimes.com/2019/12/14/world/asia/bangkok-street-food.htm

    Carnival in Rio?

Rio is still Rio...around Carnival, there are tons more people, crowds all around the city... More crime because of more people....you should be extra careful... Hotels and apartments are the highest rate of the year during Carnival... Saunas tend to be packed with foreigners and boys come from all over Rio to work....standard rates are also higher based on the demand for the boy.... Mardi Gras and Carnival are not comparison....as far as size....Carnival is Rio kills NO with number of people visiting, events and price hikes....' BUT if you get the chance to go for free...feel free to go and party with the hundreds of thousands of people who take over the city Hope this helped...

  10. I consider my hearing is great at my age, and loud music is as annoying to me as the smell of smoking. But i perservere due to the boys. Its minor trade off in my opinion to what i can experience with the other 4 senses. Having said that, if i made my decision, and music is too loud, id probably off the guy and go somewhere else instead.

  13. Actually, I don't have issue with loud music...tbh I did not notice that the music is in high volume...or maybe I was just busy exploring the boys' body and muscles (and private part, lol) and looking at the boys' face as we talk, maybe that's why?! Haa haa

  14. The best internet site to get information on Salvador is Salvadordabahia.com It gives all events in Salvador de Bahia plus comments. There is an English version giving part of information. Comprehensive information, only in Portuguese. Thanks to information from this site, we went to Igreja Santa Luzia where fidels were waiting to clean and cure their eyes with the holy water and wipe tham with a cloth with the name of the Saint. Procession with os filhos de Ghandi This afternnon, we had planed a visit with Fernando but he is sick. So we are on our own.

  16. Bucknaway, no fights for me...just talking. I think that Solace can have his own ideas, as I can have mine...opposite in this case. Just typing our thoughts. Just one clarification...I'm usually not a twink-like guys fan, despite I have variable tastes. Just some words about what tomcal said, before arriving to Rodolfo: saunas face bankruptcy only for 2 reasons: Forced and delaied relocation (what tomcal said (like MM)) Naive management (like Lion's) 1- Relocation is dangerous mostly because you have to face the risk of losing customers and boys because they don't like the new location, or because it's in a neighborhood with an increased risk of exposure against people you don't want to know what you're doing, and losing customers because the new place cannot accomodate the same amount of workers or customers as the previous one did. The more time you're spending without working, the more customers you're going to lose. Once you've lost your sauna's customers, it's nearly impossible to get them back inside a new location, because they've already been adsorbed by the remaining ones. This is MM's and MH's (which in the end it was meant to be MM's spinoff) case. 2 - Lion's is not bankrupt (might be pretty close), but it opened in the worst market conditions they could have chosen to face. The 2 major competitors, 117 and 202, are living their most profitable time in Rio since olympics. Getting inside the game with a huge investment, while even more manageable activities like MH have failed, is a very risky choice IMHO. This isn't Lagoa's case since the switch has been done in "realtime". So Rodolfo who's not naive, since he's been running the business for decades, knows that he cannot host the same volume of visitors inside the new location. At the same time he knows that the sauna "lives" in SP, Brazil's fashion capital and he knows that there's a predomint type of boys that most of customers currenly like. Young guys with toned to muscular bodies and nice faces, not too feminine, judging by the size of their regular customers list, and by the size of the queues they cause in the receptions, is the way to go. Keep in mind that a small share of customers has already gone, since some were going to the old Lagoa just to have drink with their friends. Speaking of 117, there's always been a list of guys who didn't meet the standards to work in there...it's totally normal. The last times i went (like 5 times in the last 30 days), i think that the average age didn't even get close to 26/27yo (which a kinda a bit lower than the old Lagoa). There was a 10/15% of nextdoor/twinky type of boys, about a 80% of guys with a swimmer/gym type of body, and the remaining % of boys with a competition like body. This ratio has changed during the times. And Monique, who's kind of a genius in this market and will never face the risk of a forced relocation since she owns the building, knows that by the time goes, the population of the saunas has to adapt to the customer's demand and to the internet's competition. So if Rodolfo is trying to import the 117's model which worked for 20 years in Rio (and I think that this is what he's going to do), to keep the highest standard among the most demanded boys to cut the potential losses caused by guys who work in there but that attract only the 30% of the customers instead of the 80% (i.e.), I don't see anything of strange. Probably this choice is also supported by statistics...do you think that the reception doesn't know how many customers "Mr. x" averages each month? Or how many garotos my VIP customers "Mr. Y" averages each day? In the end it's like running a supermarket where every product has nearly the same price...if you're downsizing from a 6000m^2 surface to a 4000 one, you'll have to pull from the display the products which you know you're selling less. You'll lose customers...some will move to a local competitor (if exists) which holds those products, some will just buy it on Amazon...Internet. Still better than losing those who buy the best selling ones, just beacuse they're over.

    Osaka (Japan)

I was in Tokyo for a few days in the midst of the AIDS epidemic. Foreigners were simply not welcome at gay bars and saunas. There was one small gay bar for Westerners, but hardly any locals frequented it. Definitely the most racist country I have been to.
