Day 3.6: Bar Crawl Last look back at Soi 4 on my way out. The night is still young: I decided to go back to the safety of the confines of Patpong 2. I was coming from the Silom side, instead of the Surawong side, so inevitably I went by the girlie bars, which was a reminder that we were not alone in the Soi: I got to the Soi at 10:40, plenty of time to take in the show at Dream Boy, but @anddy reminded me yesterday that the show at DreamBoys has become more slapstick more than ever, with even more drag queens screaming, and the shows less sexy. It does seem like the previous DreamBoys I know, so instead of going into the bar now, I decided to hang out with Old Friend at Hot Male beer bar. He is always good company, and after two rum and cokes, and a healthy amount of gossip about the Soi and its inhabitants, I was ready to go in DreamBoys. I am guessing at 11:15 the show would have died down by now. My take on Dream Boy: I get to the bar and lo and behold, my usual mamasan was there. Damn, I’ve had Moonlight, Fresh Boy, Jupiter and now Dream Boy have my usual mamasans spot me from a mile away and immediately guide me to my seat. This is kind of weird. Different Soi and different spot and yet the mamasans and boys remain the same. I get my usual drink and take in the show. Yup, it is still some drag queen slap stick happening on the stage. I thought I was able to avoid all this by arriving late, but lo and behold they are still here. After the usual slapstick was a fuck show. I was expecting a good old Bangkok fuck show but instead I got was another slapstick effort. There was on bottom and 3 “tops” I guess. The bottom was just one of the drag queens, now shirtless and pantsless and in just underwear. Not sexy. A fuck show is supposed to be sexy right? Not this one. The party went around to ask for tips. No tips from me. The saving grace is still the Dream Boy star doing a sexy show. Even though i'ts a sexy dance I've seen before, his star still shines brightly, and with a little bit more muscle mass, he can even outshine most of the models in Moonlight. Very handsome, very charismatic. I often wondered if he can be offed. I scan through the crowd, probably about 85% Asians and 100% men tonight. Lots of solo punters. The seating is better than old Dream Boy, but the stage is worse, because of the big column right smack dab in the middle of the stage, obscuring a lot of the action at times, if the action is not in front of the column. @reader warned me about this, I just didn’t know it was this bad. Its worse when you are closer to the stage, as you have huge blind spots. See for yourself: VID_1575837489214.mp4 After the show, about 50% of the audience left, some with boys in tow. The remaining boys went out to the stage to try to entice the punters. My mamasan was trying to get me to pick certain boys, knowing what I liked, but they weren’t clicking for me. Maybe I was too late, and most of the good boys have been taken by the punters who left. Obviously, this place is still a fairly popular venue. I may have just missed all the good stuff. I will have to just go back here another time to take advantage of the whole bar. So I bid farewell to the mamasan and tell him that I will just have to come back next time. He was disappointed but quickly lightened up with his 100 baht tip. I mean, he held my hand the whole time I was there (strange) and stayed with me and kept me entertained. I leave and got back on the Soi to weigh my options. Old Friend waves from his perch up at Hot Male and asks me “Where your boy?” I go back up the bar and tell him I didn’t off anyone because all the good ones were taken. I decide to stay with him and have another drink and talk to Old Friend for a while. Hot Male bar is really a good spot for people watching. I see a steady stream of customers and boys coming out of Lucky Boy. Maybe I should my luck again at that bar, to see if I can scrounge up a one for the road off. I felt bad for leaving Old Friend behind, especially since he wanted to go to DJ Station. I told him I don’t have a lot of time left, because I needed to leave for the airport at 5 AM, which is 4 and a half hours from now. I literally have that time left this day. And I haven’t packed yet. I go to Lucky Boys and luckily I was seated in the center again, with full view of the stage. They were just starting their late show. Even with the drag queens, I think the combination of the large stage, the good acoustics, and the overall quality and effort of the performers, made the whole show widly more entertaining than I expected. @paulsf has likened it to a Las Vegas show, and I can see why. Lots of sequins, good production values, and fairly entertaining waiters and boys made it a great atmosphere. I sat back and enjoyed the show. At the corner of my eyes, I saw a few boys who were still in their underwear. Two stood out. Two twinks, looked young and fair-skinned. One had an arm around another, and they were smiling and laughing at the show onstage. They are not the ones pictured here, but they almost looked like this, they were so cute: I wave at them. The taller one waved back. I point at them. He points at himself. I continue pointing. He points at his friend. I form my fingers into a “V” - both of you please. The other one points at himself, and then both at him and his friend. I give a thumbs up. The two nod and wai to me. They sit next to me, one on both sides. They both take my hand closest to me and hold tight. Best game of charades ever in my life - because I win two boys! One of the mamasans asks if the two were to get drinks. I say yes. I admired both with equal measure. The two really looked like twins from afar, but up close I can see the differences. One had white porcelain skin, very smooth, and very pretty. 21, Myanmar, and fairly bubbly and smiled a lot. The other one, fair but a little bit of darker tone, also very smooth. 22, Cambodian, and a very sweet smile. More reserved than his friend, but was not shy with showing hugs, kisses and affection. So they were obviously friends, but would they want to get on a threesome with me? I ask the Cambodian, who was better in English than Myanmar. They talk it out, in Thai, on opposite ends of me, while still holding both my hands. After a few minutes, Myanmar boy kisses me on the cheek, “OK can.” He says. They both laugh. Myanmar boy takes my rum and gives me a drink. I had both hands occupied; it was thoughtful of Myanmar boy to do that. He does this the whole night. As much as I preferred sight of both in their underwear, as well as getting to feel their bodies next to mine, I tell them to put on clothes so we can continue the off. A couple of wais later, and telling the mamasan that, indeed, I will off two boys, they were off. The excellent show onstage continues, and actually more customers stream in. This bar is getting a lot of traffic. I'm glad. This is good for the bar, and good for the Soi. Maybe this was a good move after all. While I was waiting, I see three more twinks to my right, trying to make googly eyes at me. All looked very yummy. Should I off three more? I entertained the idea for a split second before telling my brain no. I didn’t have much time in Bangkok so I should be sensible. Two is enough. Maybe a 5 boy off would be something I could do down the road. I have to admit that this bar has exceeded my expectations. They boys are yummy, the show is excellent, and the whole bar had a great ambience. Definitely a repeat next time I find myself here. The two boys come back and resume their perch on opposite sides of me. The show ends, I settle my bill (my drink, two boy drinks, two off fees, and a mamasan tip). Next, another threesome, this time with boys who were also friends.

After my deluge of reports 3 weeks ago, I flew on to Australia and NZ. Back to Friday afternoon: after Chetra had left I walked to Chu Chocolate Bar for a meeting with Anddy, who had graciously agreed to share with me his 5 years experience as a farang living in BKK. He too withstood my interrogation, telling me about his life here, other expats, gay sex scene, forum community, etc. His chocolate was my treat, but his insights were a TREAT indeed. On this unintended repeat visit I decided to take a look at the clubs I didn't visit 3 weeks ago. Also, I was piqued by DanKFQ's observations in his thread: that when he entered Golden Cock, the boys outside were actually surprised that a customer had showed up (duh.....); and that since he was the only one there, he became focus of all attention. I was hoping I'll spoil myself with a couple of twinks on each side.....Alas! it was not to be. Golden Cock turned out to be a small unappealing room, barely a meter between the 'stage' and the seats. As I entered, there were 6 'boys' standing in front of two customers. As all attention swerved toward the newcomer, the two looked between bored and alarmed. I took one look at the stage and fled: 2 were fat, by any definition of the term; 2 were old, well past past past their prime; and all were unappealing. I said thank you, exited, and went to Nature Boy. There was no need to enter; the guy outside said there was only one boy inside. Again "thank you" and backtracked to Tawan. I'm not into bodybuilders, but I figured since I was already there - I'd just take a peak. They readily agreed to let me look for a moment before paying, and so I did. The place looked shabby; there were a few customers and about 8-10 boys (actually men), all indeed with huge biceps. Most of them also had if not huge than at least big protruding bellies, the opposite of six packs. I retreated for a third time, and made my way to the main cluster. Hotmale turned out to be similar to Screw and Fresh, and no boy there drew my attention. Proceeded to Jupiter, which was the only club refusing a request for a peak. [It seems an unreasonable marketing policy, but I assume they understand their business better than I do.] Unsurprisingly I ended up again at the one club I remembered fondly: DreamBoys. I sat through two shows with routines I had already seen 3 weeks ago. For some reason it didn't cross my mind to ask if he's off-able; maybe his is a model's rate. In any case, he was called to sit between two Chinese(?) young ladies, and I envied them. After offing a cute twink #72 and before leaving, I went up to the sitting policeman and gave him a 200 baht tip (which apparently surprised him, maybe because he's used to getting tips only on stage). Before offing Kim 72, the mamasan obliged me by bringing him and his drink to sit with me outside, so we could actually HEAR each other. He was nice, promised to do everything (kiss, suck, etc.), and off we went. It wasn't so nice once in bed. At some point when I motioned him to suck me, he said "I top no suck". After the deed was done, I paid him his due without additions. That was my final club night. I'm glad I've re-introduced myself to the scene after a 10-years hiatus. I would have enjoyed myself immensely sitting-interacting generously with a boy or two, evening in evening out, but I just can't stand the overpowering music making communication impossible. I went to Lion's Rio Club last night (Friday) around 8 pm. There were about 25-35 garotos and 20 clients with a show at 9 pm with three drag queens and one gogo boy. They gave out a glass of champagne, some fried appetizers and then a variety of pastas to everyone. Overall I really like the club overall and the renovations. There were a number of staff from Meio Mundo and most of the garotos were the same type of guy found at Meio Mundo. The garotos were complaining that it was very weak for a Friday night, but it was also the end of the month when many brazilians are short of money waiting for their monthly payroll check next week. From talking with the people there, the best nights, in order, are Friday, Monday and then Wednesday. I was there with some friends and all of us liked the club and had a good time. Now hoping it lasts given some of the rumors as competition is good (Club 117 was offering a 50% discount on suites Friday nights in November) and another option in addition to Club 117 and Pointe 202.

I decided after my first visit to Lion's Rio Club on a Friday to try it the following Monday night. It was much quieter than my Friday night visit, with about 10 garotos and 5 clients. Rooms were free for 30 minutes and the admission was R$60. Even with only a small number of clients, they still had a show at 9 pm. With it being slow, you definitely receive lots of attention. The Monday I visited was also before people received their December salary and their December bonus so not sure if that was a factor. My recommendation would be to try it on a Friday night if you want to try an alternative to 117 or 202.

Actually, Parahyba does definitely have GdePs, referenced in a few places, and another clue is it follows Ofurô (Manaus) on IG. It has a slick website, likely a well managed venue.

I wonder the same myself. Haven't been in BKK for 2 years now, and what I can read in the forum a lot of things have changed. In a different post I found: Did anybody actually visit Tawan lately? Much reports on Moonlight, Jupiter and the new Patong2 bars, but what about Tawan? I personally like a boy with a muscular body; not too slim but does't need to be body building type either. So probably Moonlight and Jupiter are good options for me when it comes to the type f guys they have. But I read also reports about the high prices (Moonlight) and most of the muscular type boys are "men" and do not kiss, suck or get fucked themselves (Moonlight & Jupiter)... Me being a top; it will probabaly be hard to find a boy to off there for me that can bttm.... What you guys think are the bars with the best chances for me?

But be aware, the difference between bar boys and free lancers (free or not), is the risk , I've had a lot of great times at DJ and G.O.D., but have also "lost" a lot of phones too...NEVER with a bar boy....as much as I complain about drink prices and off's....is still cheaper than a phone or more in the long run.
