Rio October 2019....Badboys Recap
Alaskabear and one other reacted to Badboy81 for a topic
Much of the same as the last times I have visited Rio... Beautiful weather, especially on Sunday which is the day EVERYBODY goes to the beach...Definitely the highlight of my trip Thursday after hitting the beach, I went to 117...crowded but not too bad....a lot of boys, a less clients....HOT GUYS....typical variety...GOT NO ACTION... Quantity over quality for me this time... Hit Pointe 202 around 8....WASTE OF TIME.....Could have had a V8.... Tons of action on Grindr and Jackd but ended up being tired as hell after drinking Friday definitely got better...BEACH...117...Very crowded, tons of guys...tons of clients doing what they normally do...I did notice 117 has added more variety in TWINKS....NOT MY SPEED Again no action but I had lined up some ass from Grindr... Ended up going to Samba after leaving Lapa and got back to the Apartment at around 3...Great samba crowd...always great time... HOT MUSCLE TWINK CAME OVER....Insatiable...Amazing body for a little guy and nice bubble ass...gotta stop sleeping on the smaller guys... Dude literally fucked (or I fucked him) to sleep...short, muscular, toned...tanned, great ass and legs, SEXY as fuck Overcast Saturday..Just walked the beach a little until me and my Carioca friend went out to Barra Tijuca to the islands that I love for drinks and lunch... Hit the beach to walk around...got nice and toasted THEN decided to hit up Villa Mimosa...(Google it) Tons of whores and guys on the hunt for them... Ended up heading back to the apartment after an hour at Villa Mimosa and invited some young white Carioca over... PHAT ASS BOOTY on a slim dude....Exactly why I love RIo....21 years old and texted me ALL DAMN DAY after we fucked to connect again... I was almost ready to block him AND then he sends me a pic of him and his ass on the beach....I made him a deal to link again in December... Rio never disappoints...almost like home... Definitely didn't have as much sex as I anticipated but my two hook ups are definitely repeats and I have some other guys to meet up when Im back in two months... Lapa, the islands, Ipanema, Copacabana....always a good time....2 points -
Website to Compare Costs for International Money Transfers
vinapu reacted to daydreamer for a topic
I found a new site (new to me) for comparing the cost of money transfers to Thailand and other countries. I have read that many members of this board, plus members of Sawatdee and Gaybutton boards use Transferwise to send money to Thailand. I just did a comparison, and Transferwise came in least favorable in the comparison. Yes, Transferwise may offer a bit higher of an exchange rate, but after their transfer fee, other options offered may give you a higher amount of Thai Baht. Here's a screenshot of what I checked today - I used a 3,500 USD amount as an example, transferred and exchanged to THB. Just put in the amount of currency you want to check or transfer, and see for yourself that there may be better options to transfer your funds. The website is https://www.finder.com/international-money-transfers Scroll down the page a bit, and you will see this box: It's not a huge savings, but maybe this will be helpful for some people. Don't get hung up on the exchange rates, the bottom line is how much baht you will receive after the fees on the Thailand end. You may find that other options are better than Transferwise. The amount received column on the right side shows what you will receive from the different companies after the various exchange rates and fees are computed. Also note that some of these companies have minimum amounts they will do a transfer for. It looks like the larger the transfer, the more companies there are making offers. Another nice thing about this comparison site is it tells you the expected amount of time the transfer will take, I noticed one of the options is within the hour, that's fast. In the example I used of 3,500 USD to THB, the best transfer option was XE giving you 741 baht more than Transferwise. That's about $24.70 more on that transfer, so it may be worth it to take a look. I would rather have the 741 baht to spend in Thailand, than to give it to a transfer company. I know everyone is looking to save a little here and there, given the climbing value of the baht. This may be helpful to you.1 point -

Looks like a fantastic menu. If you are dining solo there also seems to be a half dozen barstool sittings. That is another sign of a thoughtful flourish if the place is full.1 point -
I just went there last year and in most places, they are still accepting both currency. Given than riel can only be used in cambodia, probably best to use all the riel whenever u have them. 1usd equals 4k riel is the rate and its fixed so i guess there is no advantages in using either except that riel can only be used there. I didnt use money changer there, since i brought enough usd. If u gave big denomination of usd, most likely, you will receive returns in usd + riel, unless its an even usd in returns, then usually you will get usd. I noticed most of the time, the smaller return usd i got are old and crumpled. While for bigger denomination, somehow they insist it to be crisp or they wont accept. My friend had trouble to use his old and crumpled usd20 that he got from a restaurant there. Most menu price in restaurant are in usd, so does massage places and drinks. Tips asked by guy at gay massage blue hatha also are in usd.1 point

Chinese Opera 2 November 6:00pm Centenary Park
vinapu reacted to DivineMadman for a topic
Not sure this event was getting press - or at least press on the English language sites - so in the VERY unlikely event that anyone might find it interesting I thought I would pass on that there will be some Chinese Opera performances 6:00 pm Saturday 2 November at CU Centenary Park. I can't speak to Chinese Opera, but Centenary Park is a delight. Well worth a visit. (And well worth learning about some of the engineering and flood management design that went into it. It's really quite impressive.) And it's free.1 point -

Thank you. I might check it out.1 point -
Agreed. The "feel" of Pattaya is very different to that of Bangkok, though perhaps this is not as marked as it was twenty years ago. Even the guys you meet are different- Lao and Cambodian rather than Vietnamese, for instance, and a higher proportion of twinks. And the falangs? more of them are on extended holidays rather than short stays. It is very different!1 point

I agree with Vinapu it's time you try Pattaya less than 2 hours drive from Bangkok , plenty of affordable accommodation and 3 main gay zones : Boyz Town,Sunee Plaza and Jomtien Complex.1 point

Website to Compare Costs for International Money Transfers

thanks. useful info. a couple of thoughts. 1. The comparison site finder.com says it's "independent" but then acknowledges that it's paid by advertisers and on referrals, and then if you go to XE.com from Finder, there's a screen that says you are going to XE the "partner." And there do seem to be prominent XE.com ads on the Finder.com website. Also, there's an "article" on the Finder.com site that basically says XE is just better than Transferwise, which is a tad bit suspicious to me. https://www.finder.com/xe-vs-transferwise Maybe it's true, but I wonder if there might be a deliberate bias in the Finder.com site. Just a thought. 2. When I compared the overall fee that Finder.com was saying Transferwise would impose it was higher (by roughly a paltry $6.00.) than the overall fees that Transferwise itself was actually quoting me at that time. And the comparison site didn't use the then-current Transferwise exchange rate - they used a slightly worse exchange rate than Transferwise was offering. So it's not like it's a real-time accurate comparison site. hmmmm Transferwise Finder 3. The folks at Transferwise have an article out XE (so there!) and they don't come down and say one is better than the other, but they point out that XE uses the SWIFT network and banks along that chain of transfers can all take a bite out, so the amount you are quoted to receive by XE is not guaranteed to be the amount you actually will receive. XE tells you there may be charges along the way and that's not their problem. https://transferwise.com/gb/blog/xe-money-transfer [It's funny because I find the Transferwise "article" more trustworthy because doesn't quite come down so hard on the competition. It will be interesting to see if there are any of those little charges on your transfer. I certainly hope there aren't any. (You do read about people transferring from the U.S. to a Thai bank and if it goes through an intermediary bank that intermediary bank(s) may all impose a fee.). Bangkok Bank imposes a fee of .25% on incoming transfers, but it maxes out 500baht so not a huge deal, but those sorts of things are hidden costs, or potential hidden costs, that Transferwise doesn't have. So I think comparison shopping is definitely the way to go, but I guess I am a little dubious Finder.com so I would still go the actual transfer co to make sure I am getting an actual quote for comparison purposes and, personally, I would ding XE (or other SWIFT co's) for saying "there still might be other charges."1 point -
Trip report Sep-Oct 2019 - Crazy Things At Night
vinapu reacted to GoldMember for a topic
Come to think about it, I knew that cause you actually told me that 2 weeks before, when we met. So I guess ending up in a toilet booth is a combination of laziness and maybe also seeking a certain amount of thrill on my last night. LT is something I haven't done yet. But there is always a first time. I am not sure too crazy is describing my opnion about this party. I'd say less sexy than I expected but surely entertaining.1 point -

http://www.restaurantespot.com.br/ Probably the best restaurant I've eaten in Brasil. You need a reservation or be there right when they open to get a seat.1 point -
I stopped by Toy Boys last night for a drink. There were at least 12 guys on stage and another 5-6 were sitting with a high end customer. Good variety of guys available. Also walked by on Friday and Saturday night and could see many guys on stage when I passed by. Drinks were 240 baht.1 point

Stopped in to Cupidol last night around midnight and there were about 15 guys working at that time. Not many customers but there were people coming in and out until they closed at 2 am. Drinks were 240 baht.1 point

I wonder what is first , chicken or egg since I noticed more fancy hotel more time I tend to spent in the room basking in luxuries. So going spartan for me has 2 advantages - saving money and generating more time outdoors.1 point
