Leg 7 - Bangkok - Last chance candy Arrived to the Thai capital on Friday for my last 3 nights of this trip. Hotel review - Grande Centre Point Ratchadamri - 3BR Suite(350 USD per night): I booked this hotel for several reasons: it's walking distance from Siam malls which my family will like, it has 2 and 3 br suites which is rare and cheaper than interconnecting rooms, room was massive (180 sqm). This was all true and was perfect for our need. But, other than that, this hotel does not offer anything exceptional than others and for couples/solo I see no benefit on staying there. This place lacks a bit of character. Breakfast is of medium quality. After sending all my family to nap, I visited Prince(#3) again. I have no recollection of that massage which means I enjoyed it but it was not exceptional. What I do remember is the price change. 1h Oil 1100 and minimum tip 1200. I'm almost sure 2 weeks before that both were cheaper. After my family woke up we all went up Mahanakhon building. I don’t have a local Thai bank account. You can top up by cash, each 20 baht top up extend one month. When I bought a tourist sim I was told it will expire after one year but it’s isn’t true. There are self kiosk machines in AIS shop front and other places. You can choose English language option. The machine takes cash and it’s minimum top up is 20baht so if you pay 20 baht X 12 times, 240 baht you can extend expiry date by one year. I don’t see any reason why they don’t do eSim at airport.

My problem other than excusing myself away is finding time and energy to keep going out after all the day time tourist activity and eating out lunch and dinner together. I always have my own room when travel with family, so it wasnt hard to skip out after dinner for fun stuff, but id be too tired usually. Now if i travel solo, the tourist activity will be tailored to what night activitt i had. For example, in hong kong, i usually go out early morning to beat crowd at hot spot tourist area, went back after lunch to hotel to cool off, and nap. Then go out again for night activity, dinner, market, and finished off with massage. I guess I am getting older before I was in the room only for sleeping so there was not much purpose to book fancy hotels but now I do less outdoor activities so I do need propper hotels which provides swimming pool and dyning room with breakfast buffet the only options in Jomtien complex is the Zing or the Agate. I was very disappointed to find out that everyone is not only wearing their shirt, but also dressed really elegantly. I came wearing party wear and felt a bit misfit. I don't do elegant. It is definitely not worth 4 nights since it's massiveness is a bit tiring and charmless. As an experience I do recommend 1 or 2 nights. Third day in Singapore was dedicated to enjoy our new pool and the hotel surroundings of mall and beautiful gardens. Hotel gym was impressive too with views from the 55th floor. At night I was still very tired from the night before and decided to have a chill night at Tantric (#3) with a beer and go to sleep. Tantric was very calm that Sunday eve and I enjoyed nice conversions with some locals. After about an hour, 2 guys entered the bar. I went to Paragon AIS shop, they have English speaking service staff by the way and asked if my current prepaid tourist sim can be converted to eSim. He asked my current AIS number and typed a few details print out QR code, scanned it by my iPhone XS Max, and that’s it. My only concern was they do it only for monthly contract which requires work permit etc. but not for a prepaid tourist SIM card. My iPhone now has 2 active telephone lines. 1.physical SIM card for my home country 2. Leg 3 - BKK - The worst and the best Arrived at Bangkok Friday noon for 4 nights. I think this leg was the most eventful leg. Hotel review - So Sofitel - 2 So Comfy interconnecting rooms (190 USD per room per night): I booked simpler rooms and got an upgrade upon arrival. needless to say, this is one fine hotel. I love the decor, the location and breakfast is superb. It has a lot of sex appeal and attracts lots of gay travelers. My main complaint is that they were unwilling to guarantee me interconnecting rooms. They said they will do their best but can't guarantee which for me is not enough considering my trip's nature. Mails sent to hotel management did not help. I then messaged XXO Party's FB page in request for mediation regarding my request. So Sofitel was the host of that party. After texting with the FB page of the party, So Sofitel sent me an email that they are willing to commit, so I got what I wanted. Spa Bangkok - I have been contemplating the thought of having a genuine tantric massage for some time now. That is the only place that offers it to my best knowledge. But their pricing for that is really weird. You either do a member for 5K baht a year and get it for 1500 baht or for non members it's 3200 baht.
