  1. When you are over 40 it is natural to refer to guys under 25 as boys, there was no underage sex insinuation intended. And in Britain “I am going for a drink with the boys” just means you go out with you male friends, not that you are giving alcohol to minors. Boys doesn’t just mean “children” it is also frequently used to say “not girls”. To answer the question, i once had 7 different boys in Rio saunas on one day, but I only came 6 times. I was 44. Not sure I could do the same again!

  2. sometimes that slightly lower price on another site may actually mean something - few years ago I booked room in hotel in Merida , Mexico and on the same day friend I was going with booked the same type of room in the same hotel on another site but did not manage to get as good price as mine was. Upon arrival we found why - my window was facing wall of neighboring building, his room was few floors up and had a nice view.

  3. I spent two long weekends in Bangkok this month and has a blast, per usual. I have received so much guidance from you gents over the years, and wanted to share some of my own experiences... HOTELS Le Siam Hotel https://www.lesiamhotel.com/ I love this little hotel. Great location - next to Silom Complex and just five minutes from the main action. Amazing food on the street outside the hotel. Clean, comfortable rooms. No issues with guests. Amazing breakfast. My new favorite! The Tarntawan Hotel Surawong Bangkok I needed to book a hotel quick and saw a forum headline about this hotel. Ugh. I should have read further. The hotel is very old and dingy -- and now it is being completely renovated inside and out, with constant noise and construction materials. I pre-booked two nights but left after one and got my money back. Glitz Hotel I needed something quick after moving out of Tarntawan and booked Glitz sight unseen. It's more like a hostel. Pros: Close to the action, right next door to Tawan. Cheap. No drama bringing guests back. So close to Prime Massage. Cons: No elevator. Sparse rooms. I would stay here again if others were sold out. It's fun being in the thick of things. MASSAGE The Prime Massage Based on the glowing review of @DivineMadman, I cannot get enough of this place. I go every single day I am in Bangkok. To me, it's the perfect combination of quality, luxury, professionalism, and price. I consistently have excellent massages. Sabaidee Spa This was a low point on my trip. When I arrived, the manager offered a selection of services. He said the body-to-body would include elements from all of their massages. I chose a guy named "Deeno/Deego/Diego?". Pre-set prices and tips were expensive. I arrived in the dingy, terrible room and showered in the filthy shower. The guy got undressed, lightly massaged my for five minutes, before rubbing his D in my A. Not being dramatic, it felt like assault. I asked him to stop but he kept going. I ended the massage early and left. Expensive, shoddy looking, and bad massage. Will not return. i quickly erased the bad memory with a massage at Prime. ;-) Magic Touch by The Tree https://www.travelgayasia.com/venue/magic-touch-by-the-tree-bangkok/ Although just a five minute walk from Glitz, this is a delightful off the beaten path, bohemian vibe-type shop. I had a wonderful, sensual massage with Mr. Diew. You can add the shop on Line and choose your masseuse from the photos you request. A fantastic experience. Would definitely return. SAUNAS Babylon I don’t care what people say, I love this place. Such a throwback to a simpler, hedonistic time. Guys from all over the world, all ages and sizes, converge for fun. I had always heard about the legendary Foam Parties, and I have to say, it did not disappoint. This was definitely the CRAZIEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE IN MY LIFE. (And I have done crazy things.) The courtyard is filled with foam, and guys converge to dance and play in the suds, under the stars. It was WILD! I highly encourage doing this at least once, just to experience it for yourself. It was the pinnacle moment from my trip. Chakran This is an upscale sauna that gets rave reviews, however I was VERY intimidated. The place is 99 percent hot Thai guys, and you have to be completely naked the whole time. I felt like an intruder — definitely out of my element and invading their territory. The “orgy” on the rooftop and being able to shower outside with a view of the city was incredible, but I have definitely aged out of this experience. I would choose Babylon instead. The highlight was the bar that overlooks the "corral" of massage boys on their phones, waiting to be chosen. Probably the hottest guys I have seen in the city. SPA Dahra Beauty & Spa - Silom https://www.dahra-spa.com/spa-services/facial-treatments/ I had spent two weeks at the beach and my face was busted. Based on Trip Advisor reviews, I took the ten minute walk from the main action and discovered this very luxurious spa. Reasonably priced massages and facials that were discounted 20% for low season. I had a one hour facial that was excellent for $30USD that would have been $200 in the states. I will definitely return. Overall, it was another wonderful long weekend in the city. I love the lazy feeling of Sunday afternoons in Patong -- just grabbing a coffee or lunch and watching people recover from the night before. I can't wait to go back!

  4. The topic comes up from time to time and usually generates comments from both ends of the spectrum from committed butterflies to those in LTR's. Dodger, well known to members of all boards, has posted an impressive account of his first LTR on Gaybutton's site. What distinguishes it IMO is his honesty and openness. Regardless of where individual members fall on the spectrum, I believe that you'll be glad you read it. "I just returned from my first visit to my deceased boyfriend’s village since his death 7 years ago. I had been prolonging this visit for all these years for no other reason than to avoid sorrow, which, admittedly, is selfish on my behalf. Thep and I had spent two years building a house with the intentions that the lower level would be for his mother, sister, and two younger brothers to live, and upper level for us. The house is located in a small village 7 klms from the town of Kantharalak which sits on the Thai/Cambodian border. Just days after the house was completed, the monks were summoned to perform the house blessing ceremony, followed, almost immediately, by my departure to the U.S. to continue working. Unfortunately, Thep and I never had the chance to spend a night together in the house." Continues at https://gaybuttonthai.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9887&start=70

    Exotic Dancer

A fourth-grade teacher asked the children what their parents do for a living. All the typical answers came up - mechanic, business, sales, doctor, engineer... and so forth. However, little Justin was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when the teacher prodded him about his parents, he replied, "My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes to music in front of other men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes, if the offer is really good, he will go home with some guy and stay with him all night for money." The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some exercises and took little Justin aside."Is that really true about your father?" "No," the boy said, "He works for the Republican National Committee and is trying to get Trump re-elected, but it's too embarrassing to say that in front of the other kids.”

    Bangkok in January

Hey guys, i have been reading this forum for quite a few years already… mostly silently. I was and am fascinated of all the advice and your shared experience. My experiences in Thailand are quite different from the majority of the ones posted here. I am very lucky that Thai guys like how I look a lot; and therefore I do not need to pay for sex. While being average-to-ok-looking where I live (Germany), I am quite popular in Bangkok. I am 42 years old, a bit muscled, masculine and hairy. Many guys in SEA seem to find that quite attractive. As I come to Thailand 2-3 times a year for the last 7 years, I wanted to write a few times about my experiences and adventures. But I thought it would sound arrogant and rude though, like putting me "above" the other users. Especially the great posts of goldmember and the blog of Christian pfc, but also some recent posts of a few younger members, plus the kind reminder of vinapu not only to read the forum, but also to contribute, made me start writing… As my last time in Bangkok was in January, no fresh memories to share… I can only tell that It was - once again - awesome. I had one of the best threesomes with my boyfriend and a cute Chinese guy. I went to Babylon sauna with my friends on January 1st to detox from the party at dj station and GOD the night before and had good fun with a thai and a cambodian guy. I spent 1,5 hours of beautiful massage at prime almost every day. I Met my regular thai fuck buddy. And enjoyed the drag shows at stranger bar. After Bangkok, i went to Phuket, and was quite disappointed from the gay party scene compared to the last time i have been to patong some years ago. The Zag bar is about the only place you can go. And i did not like it a lot, as the Shows were ok, but not more. The Boat bar, my (former) favorite party place, is still there, but not really crowded until late. I am going to Bangkok again in October and will tell you how it was when I am back home. In the meanwhile, I just wanted to say hello and thank you for being the sharing community you are :-)

    Introduction

AlexThompson's trip review made me relive my last trip. His review on V club reminds me of my own experience there. some people say YOLO. but I live multiple times if it's good. Writing a trip report fulfills multiple purposes. It's not only to share your trip with the forum members here, but to recall your own sweet memories while you're thousand miles away.

    The boyfriend experience

I'm an LTR guy. I'm very fortunate to have found a long time Thai partner and have been to Thailand 8 or 9 times in the past 18 months. Last September I went out to his family home in Pathum Thani , before the ceremony held 12 months after the death of his father. I totally get the tale of the upstairs being closed off in respect of the deceased person. I went upstairs with my BF and burst into tears. The cabinet displaying a memorial to his Dad was is a terrible state, and the room was covered in bird shit. The actual ceremony was actually a happier event.

  10. 117 Tuesday was ok with many boys. Not many new faces ... Today is Pointe of course. Day spent on Ilha de Paqueta. 1 hour by boat. Nice trip in the Bay. Ilha de Paqueta coast is 8 km long. No car on this island. Either walk or rent a bike or use taxibike. Some comments of visitors are very negative (dirty beaches, unpleasant people, bad food). I do not agree. Of course there are some plastics but the beaches are cleaned. Ofcourse since the island is on the bay, difficult to be sure of the quality of the water ... It is fun the spend the day there. The boat trip by itself (12.6 R$ for the return ticket) is already a great experience particularly the return when you head towards Rio harbour. Walking around the island is nice. Lots of flowers, typical houses, nice scenaries ... For food, you can get executive dish for 20 R$. Not to be missed of course the unexpected free sex. It is quiet and relaxing to spend a day there. And of course very safe. No risk of being robbed

  15. “Boys”? I hope you are referring exclusively to young men that are over the age of 18. Because a “boy” is a child. In Brazil, the term “boy” is used (in both its Portuguese “garoto” and the English “boy”) to refer to an adult male who prostitutes himself, whether at a sauna, as a “kept man”, or as a self-contractor through ads or on the streets. I am not familiar with the term “boy” used that way in Spanish-speaking (as is Colombia) or in English-speaking countries. But in the USA, calling a black or brown man a “boy” is considered offensive and can be fighting words. Regarding the question of how many working adult-age MEN (or garotos) I have had in one day in Brazil, my record might be five in one day (separately). Non-working, three.

  16. one more thing I discovered just recently : when looking for hotel on HotelsCombined.com sometimes price shown on that comparison site for other site may be different than on site itself ie. for Red Planet Bangkok price on Agoda reached directly was 4 $ more than when one accessed Agoda through HotelsCombined link on another hand for PullmanG Silom on Agoda directly was actually 3 $ less than when linked through HotelsCombined so few more clicks may save say 20-30 $ per week

It's surprising how often negative reviews are from people whose hobby appears to be complaining. hunks/twinks/tattoos/no tattoos and the endless discussions about the Tarntawan.

  22. We’ll probably never know, but my guess is that this has to do with the ASEAN meetings going on (including the visit by U.S. Homunculus Secretary of State). It’s certainly embarrassing for the junta democratically-elected government. We might expect a bit of an immigration crackdown as always happens after these events.

  23. To illustrate Vinapu's comment: A couple of days ago I booked Le Siam Hotel, in Bangkok (thanks to a recommendation on here). Initially it was shown as unavailable on Agoda but with rooms free on Booking.com. The next day it was shown as available on both sites with the price on Booking.com being the same as the hotels own website and a slightly lower price on Agoda.

  24. pointe202 and the new Lions Sauna will have twinks! usually a few at 117 but more at the first 2! Axiom: References to cost in other countries are meaningless IMHO and overpaying makes for ugliness towards Americans from locals! he is asking for facts not outdated opinions! and btw a lot of the guys on netgay can be found working in the saunas for 1/2 the price on netgay! I just looked quickly and found 6 i know from the saunas on there!

  26. In my opinion.....his best shot is as a VP for Harris.....Harris and Pete.....which is my second choice pairing..... You might say that my pairs are not at all reasonable or even consistent but for once the democrats need to worry about WINNING and leave the policy discussion until later......Win first! I wouldn't mind a Biden/Harris pairing as well but Democrats unlike Republicans rarely do this with their major opponents.....

  29. Thank God it does not have the range to do London - Bangkok. My selection criteria is different to the OP article and Vinapu. Apart from timings and price, aircraft type is an important criteria for me. If I'm not treating myself to Business then I'd rank them in the following order for long flights 1. A380 / A350 2. Increasingly rare 3 - 3 - 3 777s 3. 787 4. 3 - 4 - 3 777s Horrible 5. Any narrow body aircraft For 1 or 2 I'll pay more.

    BKK first night

Yes of course the BKK system (or lack of it lol) is WAAAYYYY behind other major cities for not having a single card for all public transport options. As @z909 points out, in some places even these single cards are now redundant through contactless bank card payment, e.g. in Singapore (if you have a local bank account, not sure it works with foreign cards). The indeed impressive PASMO card in Japan actually doesn't only work for the greater Tokyo area but even in Osaka and Kyoto and Odawara/Hakone, so I am guessing maybe even nationwide. I've used it in those places so can tell for sure only for those. Anyway, back to BKK: I would totally get a Rabbit card to avoid the sometimes horrendous queueing at the BTS station, often TWICE for change AND then the machines (which is in itself an absurd system). What's to lose? The fee for the card itself is negligible and WELL worth given the avoided queueing hassles. Discounted daily cards may be nice, but require advance knowledge of your travel plans to know if it's worth or not AND need to be purchased every day anew (I believe?). With the Rabbit you're good to go at all times and can reload the card with an appropriate credit whenever there are no queues. No discount on rides, but MAJOR discount on hassle!

  36. I’m one of those “high maintenance “ Americans. Courtyard is about as low as I’ll go . I’ve never stayed at any of the hotels that are talked about in these posts, other than the Tarntawan many years ago. For the last five years I’ve been staying in condos. In the end they are cheaper than even the low end hotels mentioned here. Much quieter, much cheaper and never any issues taking people home with you.

  38. Yeah I went from 6 to 13 pretty quickly. Part of me feels that I am there so much, I should probably just live there. But all I did really was I cut down on the Colombia (and other trips) and just go to Brazil whenever I can. In fact I am preparing for another trip pretty soon. I can't report on all of my trips, but I write when I can. Thanks! And thanks also to the peeps who sent me private messages. No, you won't interrupt the flow of the report if you replied on here instead. Feedback is always welcome, good or bad lol. This is a great tip! Almost every Rio and SP subway station has a Banco 24 Horas. For unfamiliar cities, however, like Recife was for me, getting money right away at the airport sure saved me a lot of time looking for a Banco 24 Horas in the city. In Recife, there was also one close to Praca do Boa Viagem, and of course in Shopping Recife. Thanks @TotallyOz! And thank YOU for giving us a venue to talk about our trips! And maybe someday, you will actually be inside my stories! Hope to see you soon... Awesome! THat's what I love about Brazilians (and Colombians). They are usually hyper sexual and super sexy as well. Please do consider making your first trip to Brazil. And don't forget to share your experiences here! Right now I am preparing for ANOTHER trip. I'm hoping to wrap up this report soon, and maybe start a new one on the trip coming up... maybe lol

  40. Assuming that polling is accurate, these two articles might help to put those results about young people being "uncomfortable" in context: We asked US voters about their views on transgender people. Here's what they said. The gender-fluid generation: young people on being male, female or non-binary This is wild ass speculation on my part. You'd have to focus group that 36 % or so that say they are uncomfortable with "LGBTQ" issues and ask them to explain to really find out what's going on - if it's anything other than a statistical blip. But when I first read that article the first thing I thought of is the words "gender fluid". The people who are in the middle of that, with their peers, are young people. That's why I posted the Guardian article. It is shifting the debate from "this is the way I was born" to "this is what I choose to be today". That may be causing some discomfort. One indicator is the poll data that shows a plurality think that Gays and Lesbians are "born that way". Meanwhile, a plurality think transgender people "choose to live that way". When asked to react "If your child were ......" about 40 % say they would "not be upset at all" if their child was Gay or Lesbian. About 30 % say they would "not be upset at all" if their child was transgender. My hunch is that the poll you cited, @Lucky, is measuring slightly different things as the debate changes. Five years ago we were talking about same sex marriage. Now we are talking about transgender bathrooms and whether you can be male one day and female the next. Again, the rubber on these new issues is hitting the road mostly with younger people. I would read this mostly as a sign of cultural tension and positive change. Same thing we encountered a decade or two ago when we were pushing the limits about marrying the man we love. And to be clear, none of this is intended as saying that we shouldn't be pushing the limits in different ways. The good news to me is that the lines have really shifted around comfort levels. The polls on questions like same sex marriage just keep getting better. So my guess is that if there is a reaction, it is around the "next wave" of issues. And even on those, as the polls in that Vox article indicate, the public is mostly on the side of LGBTQ issues. The bathroom issue is the dividing line today. Funny to think about that, isn't it? These days if Mayor Pete walked into a john with his husband Chasten, people would feel totally comfortable and want a selfie. It would only be if he walked into the bathroom with his transgender soldier wife that people might feel a bit freaked out. Go figure!
