For those who visit Brazil and first spend time in Sao Paulo then go to Rio, you might want to be aware of the below article. The article advises that the largest runway at Rio's at Santos Dumont airport will be closed for a month for upgrading. This mean that flights from downtown Congonhas Airport (Sao Paulo) will fly to the larger international airport (GIG) in Rio, much farther than downtown Rio (SDU). If you are visiting Sao Paulo during the above dates shown in the title, and if you plan to visit Rio from Sao Paulo, make sure you book one of the smaller aircraft to Rio (SDU). In my last visit on August I had many rainy days , outdoor activities were almost impossible. I've just returned from three weeks in the Rainy Season, much of it in Krabi where long periods of rain aren't unusual at this time of year. We lost only one day due to bad weather. In Pattaya/Jomtien, a few hours. We were certainly fortunate but the truth is that I go there every year at this time and very seldom has my trip been disrupted.

This really is a trip down memory lane. I remember seeing that show.

When I got to the entrance of the bar, I was ushered in by a tout. He handed me off to what I knew from my book was a mamasan, who showed me to a seat and took my drink order. I had previously been to a macho dancer bar in Manila, so I had some idea of what to expect. The show, however, was of completely different order than I what I had seen in the Philippine capital. The number I remember was set to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and involved a number of boys in monkey suits who had a mock-brawl and ended up fucking each other. After the show, for which I had arrived just in time, a mamasan explained things to me. She had an eye for inexperience, I suppose. I bought a drink for a muscled lad with a large tiger tattoo.
