  1. I hesitate to call this a trip report as it's much less detailed than many, but here are my observations from a trip to Pattaya earlier in May. Typically I only frequent gogo bars - massage is not generally my thing (I'll make an exception for a stunner), and host bars are usually a last resort. I spent a week in Hua Hin, one of my favourite places to unwind, before hitting Pattaya for 10 days. The transfer was hellish, for some reason known only to herself the driver decided a route via central Bangkok was best. The motorways were gridlocked on a Friday afternoon, so instead of the usual 5 hours the journey took 7.5 hours. It will be the ferry next time for sure. In Pattaya, Boyztown was subdued with very few customers in the outside bars. Panoroma in particular was very quiet, Castro and Serene seemed to be busier. A-Bomb, one of my regular bars, was closed for a long overdue refurbishment. I was disappointed as I'd been hoping to find a lad from my last visit. I found the A-Bomb barman working as a waiter in Dreamboys, along with several of the A-bomb lads. The waiter explained a couple of other A-bomb boys were working at Cupidol, including the lad I was looking for. He headed over to Cupidol, and brought my lad over to Dreamsboys for me. Now there's good service! I caught the Dreamboys first show, which is pretty much a copy of X-Boys and BBB minus the Bboys dancers. They started with a candle show, which I thought was extinct in Thailand. The candle boy was not really my type, pleasant looking but not a stunner, but as I watched he grew on me - the waiter helpfully explained he was "number 1 big cock" in the bar. However, it was his big chunky ass that capitvated me, especially when I saw him naked later during the big cock show. The waiter was talking about a 700 Baht off fee for the show boys, plus tips of "2000 Baht up", so I didn't off him. Later in the trip I saw the Dreamboys 2nd show, they seemed to have many more boys in the big cock show who I hadn't seen previously in the bar. It was fun. I spotted an exceptionally handsome older guy who I'd offed years ago - frustratingly I couldn't remember from where. It must have been BBB, or Dreamsboys in Bangkok, I think. I had a quick grope for 100 Baht. It was pity this was my last night and I already had a boy from Dreamboys sat with me. X-Boys had a good selection of boys. I always find the staff here a bit odd, other than asking if you want to off anyone they don't seem to want to engage or help you choose a boy as they do in other bars. Maybe their English is not up to a conversation. I did off a good looking lad, I wasn't sure he was gay when I saw him on stage but he soon convinced me he was. He'd already had a few drinks, and was in fact slightly drunk. This didn't really affect his performance. in Cupidol, other than my former A-Bomb guy who I offed a couple of times, I didn't find any boys my type - but then I rarely do. I ventured into BBB several times. I'm not a fan of the way the boys are generally fully dressed. The muscular ones who do take their tops off invariably have an unimaginative tattoo in the style of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, across one pec and a half-sleeve down the arm. Twice I offed one of my regulars, a cute gay lad from Chiang Mai with an unexpectedly large cock. One evening when he wasn't there, one of the muscular guys caught my attention. He's cute but distinctive looking with a great body. He was from Cambodia, which surprised me given his build. When he worked out what I liked (which is not difficult, I'm easily pleased), he was quite the dirty devil in bed. Unfortunately his cock, while looking good when soft, never got even slightly hard and was so pumped full of fillers and silicone it was quite off putting. After my usual short time I gave him 1500 Baht. He looked at it pretty disdainfully and asked for another 500 Baht. He hadn't mentioned it earlier in the bar, but I reckoned he probably thinks of himself as one of the stars in the bar and deserving of a minimum 2000 Baht. I gave him the extra 500 without any argument as I don't want any bad feeling. I made a mental note to check prices with "star" boys in future. I don't normally discuss tips in the bar, and rarely have a problem like this - it's happened 3 times in 20 years. With the 1200 Baht charge to the bar (2 drinks at 350 plus 500 off fee), it made for quite an expensive evening. He won't be joining my list of regulars. Toy Boys is the best run bar in Boyztown. My regular waiter knows what I like and works hard to find a suitable boy for me. I offed two boys from here - one was a sightly older guy with a great body I'd offed previously. He's straight but does everything. The other was a newly arrived young lad, straight but cute as a button. He was pretty useless in bed however, lying there like a sack of potatoes. I ventured over to Sunee once when inspiration in Boyztown was lacking. Sunee is a shadow of it's former self of course, with many bars closed and those that were open had very few if any customers. I went directly to Winner, in the hope of finding a boy from my last trip in February. He was new then, and unlike the typical Winner boy he's compact and muscular. I was slightly surprised to see him still working in the bar, he didn't really seem cut out for it. He remembered me and was pleased to see me. He'd grown in confidence and his English had improved, so he was a chatty companion. He was below average in bed, but I knew that anyway, and I find him attractive enough not to mind. Overall my tally in the gogo bars was 4 new boys and 6 repeats from previous trips. Next time I'll be on the lookout for more new boys - I'll aim for a 50:50 ratio.

  2. I would also suggest taking a flight directly to Rio (GIG) versus a short layover in Sao Paulo (GRU). In the event you decide to do the short layover at GRU, allow at least 3 hours between the arrival of your flight from the USA and the departure time of your connecting flight within Brazil.

  3. Good to see you back, Bucky - It is not necessary to first go to Sao Paulo en route to Rio. You were misinformed. United Airlines has flights from Philadelphia to Rio de Janeiro with a stop in Houston, Texas. American Airlines has flights from Philadelphia to Rio with a stop in Miami. You would be making a big mistake if you travel to Rio with a stop in Sao Paulo. You would likely have to change terminals and/or airports if you go to Sao Paulo en route to Rio. This is not good for a first-time traveler. Have a good trip.

    May 2019 Trip Report

Observation Vinapu has preached about the convenience of going out with lots of pockets, so that red notes can be easily reached but kept separate from other denominations. I am a complete failure at this. I’ve had to train myself to check pockets of clothes I’m packing or sending out for laundry as I almost always find crumpled baht notes wedged into a pocket.

  5. What are forum members favourite Tinglish expressions and words? To me they seem to fall into 4 categories. 1. Words i.e. Same same, motorcy, check bill, tee wee. 2. Compound English consonants i.e. tch, ks are difficult for Thai, so box and sex becomes bok and sek 3. Brand names rather than generic words i.e. bleach is Haiter, washing up liquid is Sunlight 4. Stress (') on the final syllable i.e. Compu'ter. Or, after many requests to a taxi driver to take me to the 'Sheraton, he says "Ah, you go Shera'ton"

  6. Leaving today,as planned....but don't think I'll be coming back, def was a one time thing for me. All of the apps are money boys...which I'm OK with. But they only want to come (like USA escorts) for their one hour, do the deed and leave. Not interested in dinner, drinks, nothing more. And they are asking 50-150 usd, And when I accepted , many never replied again, wtf? Found one nice guy, gay, not looking for money...we had a nice night, but he works so much that he hardly had any free time...with a job and helping the parents at home. His grandfather was in the war and had a different story to tell than the government here likes to portray. Went to the couple of gay bars, walked the party streets.....to put it in perspective (for those that know me). I came with a Litre of rum, I'm leaving with a little more than a 1/2 litre, lol I did hook up every night except the first (was very tired).....but wasn't easy. Forgot to add: Internet sooooo slow. I'm in a decent AirBnb, new construction, close to everything, comfy bed, great a/c $26 usd a night. Food is relatively cheap, money seems to last longer , maybe because I couldn't find one guy that liked to drink...some said yes and in the end they drank 1 beer. Flights are cheap from BKK, so if I did come back, I'd bring someone with me from BKK or someplace they don't need a visa.

  8. The key point is to be aware that you have to clear immigration, get baggage unless only carry-on, clear customs, and deposit checked luggage at the domestic transfer point that might be a different terminal (there are 3 at GRU). This is best done on the same ticket in case the booking did not provide sufficient time leeway. Be advised that cabin weight restrictions are stricter for domestic flights.. I have, alternately, stayed in São Paulo a few days, stayed overnight but within the 24-hour limit (from arrival to domestic departure) in order to have the integrated ticket, or pushed through to the transfer immediately. The latter meaning usually arriving in Rio in the afternoon for typical check-in time anyway. But I believe you may arrive very early morning depending on first transfer point in USA. Here's hoping the new relaxed entry requirements will eventually lead to more direct flights.

    Bogota hotel or airbnb

In Bogotá, I tried two hotels. Definitely Mercure BH Zona FInanciera is my recommendation. Close to all gay attractions and it's very clean hotel with a nice room facilities. St Moritz/Gigolo is just a short walk. The other hotel is rather in the central, The Orchids. 5 star hotel and very antique and spacious room with fire place, however, too old and it was not cleaned properly, although teh breakfast was amazing. Too far from Chapiniero. Go for Mercure!

    May 2019 Trip Report

Ggobkk and I seem to be following each other...first Tarntawan and now Jomtien! We arrived yesterday, after four sun-filled days in Krabi where the absence of gay couples is noticeable as we walk around Aonang. And certainly in our hotel -we are the only gays in that particular village. It is more expensive than the ones we're used to; some would say over-priced. Even so, no one seems to mind a Thai/falang couple, of whom only one is good-looking.Tthe staff in the hotel are welcoming. To be fair, that has been our experience throughout Thailand. Nevertheless it was good to be back among the brethren yesterday evening. Plenty of cute masseurs within yards of our hotel and Dick's Cafe served us the best dinner we've had this trip.. And now we shall look out for the new sign.

  12. Anyone know of any sex parties happening in Mérida during my time in Mérida? I love sex parties because for the same reason I love buffets: everything is there (already naked and ready), you don’t have to try everything and eventually there’s going to be something tasty. :) please any Mérida updates steve

  14. My friend you(aka your friend) CentraN shopping mall NAP club (instead of NAB) I have no idea what the manager of Dave club was thinking when he renamed it to Dave Club Erra-root-shun (Evolution) Friend of mine had an Austrian BF Heinz. In the end he used to just call him Hi or Heineken as he just couldn't get his tongue around that inz On the Blue'd app I frequently get asked to send a pic of my chicken (cock!) My favourite error in translation was when my BF told me he had leprosy... turns out he had a rash!

  16. I've been to Lima a few times, I like it. My taste is in average , guy next door looks...not muscle Gods or requirement to have a huge dick (even though I like it). Plus there are lots of Venezuelan guys living there now...so it's a mix. The gay sauna in downtown (Sauna 240)is very nice as is the Disco Vale Todo Downtown and Sagitario in the centro (dangerous area at night) . Grindr is also good...LOT'S of free and there was an escort I hired, black guy...can't remember if he was from Peru or Venezuela, but was worth it...about 30 usd. I agree with MVAN, my last trip to Brasil was meh, could be us or just a blip in the times we were there, I hope. Cuba used to be AMAZING 10-20 yrs ago....but it hasn't recovered , sadly.

    Prince Sauna

Thanks, Lucky. As to why they rush - well, personally I think that the guys who work in massage places and bars have one thing in common: making the most money they can for the least output - not all - but as a general principle. Once a guy learns what he can make in a few offs compared to what they earn at 7-11 in a month it amazes them. So, "you come I go" becomes the mantra and they rush back to their phones and lounging in the gym. It's not really a service-oriented economy -it's driven by sloth.

    Prince Sauna

The Prince is a massage place, not a sauna. I have been there many times over the years and will be there, again, next Thursday. There are many such massage places in Bangkok and The Prince is one of the best. Yes, massage technique can vary, these handsome young men are there, after all, to provide an ending. That's why we choose from a lineup. I have never experienced any hint of a racial preference. Nor has anyone mentioned such a thing on the carious Thai oriented forums. Now, in an actual sauna that can happen. We call it "sticky rice" Asians who prefer Asians - but, that is at a sauna no ta massage place where you are paying. You are also likely to encounter Asians who are gaga for Caucasians - it takes all types.
