Adding a bit to Divine Madman's excellent answer about boys talking about their experiences/clients etc...some time ago, I had my frequent off Van staying with me at the Raya. I went out on my own one night, at Screwboys I off'd a guy and we used the hotel overhead. When we were finished and showering, the off said he knew me, since he was from Screwboys, I assumed he knew of me from one of his co-workers. Two days later, I was at the Raya, when Van returned and told me he had brought me a gift. Turns out it was my Screwboys off. He knew of me from Van because they shared a room... So yes, they do talk about us...but as DivineMadman puts it "regular" customers get talked about4 points

I returned last week from my second trip to Bogota, and I also visited Medellin for the first time. I will try to be short since there are tons of info concerning these cities in this forum: The Cam model I managed to talk for some weeks with a Cam4 model , twink type not really everyone’s type but very hung and one of the most popular models at the site (he is Venezuelan, my favorites). We agreed to meet in my first night in Bogota - we went to a bar in Chapinero and had some drinks (actually 10 LOL ) , after that he asked me if he could come to my hotel - obviously I said yes. Some cuddling and then we tried to have sex , but I think we were both too drunk, so we just cummed before real fuck. In the next morning I ordered room service breakfast, and he said that that was the first time he had breakfast served on bed... his life was really difficult back in Venezuela (he is a Cam model in other to send money to his mother and younger sisters in that country). He never asked any money from me and actually in the bar he asked me if he should pay for his drinks- of course I said no. In the next evening he asked if he could come over to my hotel , and again yes. The sex was not that good I have to say - I found out that he enjoy just to be act and so am I , but we managed to have some fun. That evening he made 2 private shows from my room’s jacuzzi LOL ok I am not so jealous - and all in all I was not paying anything to him (besides of food and drinks) so he had to make his living LOL. We agreed to go to a sauna together, but I had a business dinner to attend, so I didn’t managed to in those first days. That would be his first time in a sauna. In the 3rd night I wanted something different in the menu, so I found a bottom musculous guy in Grindr that asked 150 , I offered 100 and he accepted - I expected him to be taller, but the pictures were acurate and he had a really nice body in fact - and he was amazing in bed - after my not so good sex in the night before, that was a well spent money. Talking about Grindr , that really works in Bogota - I got dozens of mesages of normal guys / free guys wanting to meet. But I am still a bit selective - and most of the guys with amazing bodies are escorts LOL so I decided to support the local economy. After 3 days I went to Medellin- The city of everlasting spring. I will continue later.3 points

I think - for the most part - the guys barely discuss us, and if they do it's only in the extremes - extremely bad or gross, smells, trying to get out of paying or paying less, odd behavior. Put another way, I think they discuss us the same way a baristas at a coffee shop discuss their customers. Or they might comment on the hotel or something special like that, in the same way that they often post facebook pictures of themselves in particularly fancy bathrooms for their friends in the know to see. If customer becomes a "regular" or starts doing things outside of work, then of course they will discuss it with their friends. For us as customers the encounters often take on a bit more meaning and fantasy-fulfilling expectations. For them it's just a job and it's always nice when it turns out particularly pleasant. Make clear before agreeing to off a guy that you want to stay and see the show (if that's what you want). It certainly 100% accepted that you do that. Once I used to spend time with someone from Dreamboys who was a university student, and he really appreciated the earlier evenings. When I would off a guy and want to stay for the show, personally I always let the guy go get changed so he's more comfortable in his regular clothes. The other solution of course would be to wait until after the show to say you're going to off him, although there's always the risk he goes off with a different customer. Up to you.3 points -
DivineMadman’s phrasing “they discuss us the same way as barista’s” hits the nail on the head. Bad experience, the guys will pass it on for sure, a regular they will discuss with their friends (who are not necessarily the guys in the bar), anything else (including very good tip, nice hotel etc) 50/50 if they discuss or not. Over the years I have experienced the whole range [except the bad experience IMHO ]. For example. One regular, once it was clear I was his regular, did not want me going to his bar. I would give him the bar fine for several days which he paid to the mamasan while I sipped a lime juice in Maxis. He was happy to go to other bars with me, just not his bar. Turns out in his mind he was protecting me from the Mamasan to whom I habitually gave a finder’s fee but he thought was just greedy. Another regular I always met at the bar. When I turned up everyone knew who I was there to meet (many smiles, much fussing while they ‘united’ us). After a couple of years he graduated and got a job back home. On my first visit to the bar after my friend had gone home, the guy I offed clearly had no knowledge of the financial arrangement I had had with my friend. On yet another occasion, on my first night I offed a guy at the buff end of my range of attraction, after a clear discussion of what I wanted. As we left the bar, after waiting for him to change, another guy returned from a short time and literally flashed into my field of vision. Instant mutual attraction. However, I had made the deal for the night and there were several nights to come, so after telling Mr Flash ‘tomorrow’ I left with Mr Buff. Who it turned out, contrary to advertising, was really more top than versatile and wonderfully enthusiastic. With the right stimulus (and also less energetic from jetlag) I can broaden my horizons and be versatile and so that is how things went. An enjoyable night for us both. The next night I went back to check out Mr Flash. Mr Buff was there and we greeted each other, but clearly there had been discussion. My eyes were on Mr Flash, Mr Flash was angling for my attention and Mr Buff was happy to let his fiend reel me in. After confirming he would bottom, we went back to the hotel, where he clearly assumed I would bottom. The guys had been talking. However, I was no longer jet lagged. Luckily the Mamasan had been correct and Mr Flash was versatile bottom rather than top. He became my next regular. Like DivineMadman, once I agree to take a guy off, I let him change. It helps him to feel comfortable that he has sealed the deal for the night and, if I stay to see the show (which is rare), it gives him face rather than sitting in the crowd in his underwear. The guys do seem to enjoy seeing the shows at other bars. Partly I think this is market information (they get to compare their employer to others) and in the case of Bangkok Guy, he enjoys watching the buff guys at Jupiter and Moon Bar, possibly more than I do!2 points

Hehe, cool This trip I saw a Russian guy in apps, who I am certain I saw before in Moscow offering service. And I saw such the cases in Thailand before. Most of working guys in Malaysia, as I understand, are foreigners. Singapore is the most profitable, of coz, but if one hasn't convinced S'pore immigration, he always could spent time in Johor aiming to the same S'pore clientele. But it involves higher lodging and living expenses, when in BKK there is a huge supply from local guys, who just do it as a side job, as I understand...2 points -

Yes, and Ipergay was dumped in favour of moving to comparing the two methods also (I neglected to add) due to the imperative of dispensing the on demand regimen to the placebo group that was demonstrating such a higher rate of breakthrough transmission. Current ongoing comparison of the two drug uptake methods poses less ethical conundrum because all get the meds. What I have not had time to explore is whether subjects self-select method based on preference and sex patterns vs randomized, matched for sex patterns plus randomized, etc. I would guess it is the former. The media sometimes abridges the details, as do conference abstracts, and google is a great but sometimes overwhelming friend. I also opened up Fugues (March edition) in Montreal and saw drug ads for poz I had not heard of. Perhaps PrEP will also evolve to new components down the line. Such a huge gap from single-item AZT menu, right? Stay safe, all!1 point

I don't know about that but looking back at last dozen or so Christmases, birthdays etc, I can't recall a gift which I really found useful. Hence my anti-gift sentiment as I appreciate efforts and money spent by my friends on that gift hunting and still I'd rather had 1/3 of cash instead1 point -
I tend to think that indeed Brazilian guys are better looking than PR guys. Some guys are stunning also eg the SX bartenders Yol and Che. But when there are 10 to 12 gogo boys in SX in PR, there are 30 to 40 boys in a sauna in Rio. On a statistical standpoint, you are more likely to find boys whom you like facially in Brazilian saunas than in PR. However there are many good looking latino boys in PR. Dickwise, it is hard to compare since most of the gogoboys do not have an erection. PR boys seem to be less endowed than Brazilians. Yol was exception : even though he was caucasian, he was as big as big Brazilians. I could check in depth his big sausage.1 point

Just for common courtesy/respect I always learn the basics - greetings, thank you, no thank you, how much, check please, etc. and a new word or phrase every day of travel - wherever I go. Now if I meet a guy from, for example, Myanmar, I can jokingly list the couple of Burmese words I remember. It's a nice respectful ice-breaker that always earns me a smile. I've found locals always appreciate the effort. Beyond that I think it's optional. Up to you. Certainly around Thailand there are still lots of guys making their way to Bangkok with very little or no english, so it helps expand the pool of available guys and makes it a tad bit easier to get them to do what you want. To this day I regret an episode that happened many years ago when I barely knew any Thai and I was out someplace where the guys had no english and it turned out the guy I was with was asking me if I was looking for a bottom when I thought he was asking me if I wanted to bottom. The one that got away! As you say, google translate is good even though sometimes very limited. But the effort actually to learn a language would most likely eclipse the number of times the problems with google translate really make a difference for the average guy.1 point -

VIP and Scandalo Two clubs very close to SX (100 m). Both claim to have gogo boys. I went to both clubs 2 consecutive days when I left SX around 2.30 am to check the gogo boys. I saw a couple of bored boys in VIP and in Scandalo but almost no customers. Compared to SX which was totally full at the same time with good quality gogo boys, choice is easy ! VIP and Scandalo are in the same building1 point

I didn't see this thread start out as advice. I saw it as someone doing something different than I had seen and I asked questions and clarification. Having read on my own, I did not know there were alternatives to the daily dose. Now, I know that is an option. I appreciate the OP broaching this subject and sharing his insight. Everyone should read their own research and do their own due diligence. Talking to friends outside of the USA and even to my doctor in Bangkok who is a specialist, he did give credence to those that take it in short cycles as opposed to daily. In the end, everyone has to decide how best to lower their own risk vs the risk of harm done. I have made a decision for myself as I have worried for a while about the long term side effects to daily doses of any medication and effects on my body. Feel free to keep debating but I appreciate the OP information about something I have never known was an option.1 point

Hi, FloridaRob told me about the site and a comment a poster left on here about me! I am more then willing to impart whatever knowledge i have but a lot of information can be found on Boytoy.com So.American forum. I have been going to Brazil for 18 years, usually 4 times a year sometimes 5, usually for 10 -12 days. I have always spent the majority of my time in Rio, and a few days each trip in Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre! The last 8 years or so I have stayed in Airbnb Apartments as I much prefer that to hotels! I avoid 2 months, July and February! Historically the coldest(July) and Hottest(February) also July is when school closed for the month in Brazil so everything is more crowded and February for the week before and after Carnival as everything is 3X the price and there are a 1,000,000 extra people in Rio! Everyone mentions safety but if you stick to the tourist zones in Copa, Ipanema, etc. You will have no problems! I live in So. Cal. And there are just as bad areas here! The saunas are great! And you will find the kind of guy or guys you like there! I usually have 3 or 4 stay at the apartment with me when I am there! Flight time to Rio is about 11-1/2 hours and 12-1/2 to Sao Paulo1 point

As is almost always the case, I agree with DivineMadman. I had a similar experience buying a nice cologne for a Vietnamese guy. His response was similar. Then I know a Cambodian guy in Pattaya, who, if he learns I'm going to be in town, sends me a request for a particular type of cologne!1 point -

R U kidding me, dude?!!! I never set out to post research. You are the one that gave me the challenge. And I thought it would be remiss to not correct some misinterpretations of data. Many in our tribe, judging by empowered behavioural choices I witness in customary brothels, should indeed consume 24/365. I see what the problem is here, Benji ... you want the last word. Have at it. Be the dog vehemently overworking the bone. No lightning rod of yours, frankly, is going to attract an epiphany let alone a bit of give in your stance. Gilead actually does not manufacture my tenofovir-emtricitabine regime. In any case, manufacturers sponsor, not do, research. Caeron, kkkkkkkk, right? LMAO.1 point

It would be, but you have grossly misinterpreted Ipergay. You need to read beyond the brief summary abstract. On demand Truvada 1% infection annually; 99% effective, not 86% effective. Placebo, no drug, 7% annual infection. All considered, fucking without any Truvada, 93% safe. Remember, HIV is a wimpy retrovirus until you get one particle germinating in your bloodstream. A 14% failure rate might occur in a study arm of full--time darkroom ass-in-sling non-HAART-consuming bttms. For low infection rates, 86% more effective is impressive. Do not get caught up in the complex stats math ... things like rigourous confidence intervals override simple arithmetic and are extreme in taking our wellbeing seriously.1 point

That is similar to what I do, Germark. This means you will be walkable as well to the Montjuic Fountains free nighttime light show, just south of the Pl Espanya roundabout (also a Metro stop). Worthwhile to get the schedule. Might be a little later due to summer solstice sundown timing. There is also a tourist centre right in the middle of the traffic circle (underground crisscross thorughfares) and a lot of eateries in the converted former bull ring the northeast side. Restaurant Pura Brasa n/e on the circle also great food, busy, but a little pricier. I have not shopped and cooked in homestay there. I don't have firm dates but targetting late May for a few weeks. Previous visit Fall 2016 but elsewhere in Spain since then. For Metro, the T10 10-rides pass is best value. You will be using Metro if you plan on major sites beyond Eixample, etc. I am inclined to Über elsewhere, that is, in other cities, but I have not been anywhere in BCN that was not easily accessible using the Metro. Or the 3 trams in the northwest, but those few area sights are more for finesse of repeat visits. Enjoy! Such a marvellous city, and having the bro-thel so very much value-added. PS: I just recalled Über viability there is reportedly in question anyway.1 point

It would be awkward. What I did was went to Club 117 and pick out my 4 sexiest regulars and told them to invite friends. They did. The bartender went. A drag queen or two and we had a full booth. The boys are smart and know they get free booze and an expensive ticket. I reserved my booth through the Intercontinental Hotel so they did the book and the payments. That was not a smart move as they added a service charge but it was easy to deal with. At the end of the night, I paid for extra booze on an American CC. It was not a cheap night but we were buying lots of bottles. And, did I say I had many sexy Brazilian boys giving me tons of attention. I loved it and did the same thing for 3 years in a row.1 point

Info on X Boys
ChristianPFC reacted to DivineMadman for a topic
A couple of the mamasans at X-Boys (BKK) have definitely secured the title for most odious mamasans on Soi Twilight (formerly held by several over at Classic Boys). Nothing would surprise me about the mamasans at X-Boys, but some mamasans even at other bars will insist that the customer buy a drink for his cutie if the mamasans (or manager) think the customer and the guy are abusing the system. So if you regularly and repeatedly go sit with a regular guy(s) but slip a bigger cash tip instead of buying a drink, the mamasans may start insisting on buying drinks. (The old "Why buy a drink for 350 when I can just tip the guy 150 and we're all happy.") Obviously not buying the drinks is bad for the bar and not really the host bar "deal" so the boss or mamasan may try to police it - or at least get their share of the gold. But in my experience I think it has to be a repeat offender for this to happen. (Are you reading this Paulsf???). And if the mamasan thinks you are sitting too long with a guy without buying a drink he may start getting more pushy because it's also part of his job to make sure you are fair to the guy you're sitting with, and in that world that means you buy the guy a drink so he gets his 40 baht commission PLUS a tip for his time. Back to the original question - X-Boys is not doing all that well. The good news from the perspective of the guys who work there is that they have started paying the guys 300 baht a night, up from 250. There are signs outside advertising this and there's often a rather forlorn mamasan (usually the nice one) sitting at a table outside hoping to get some recruits. It's all a bit sad. That word I got got from a good friend who works there is that X-Boys had to raise what it was paying because business was so bad that guys were fleeing the bar. Speculation is that word got out among the customers, which means especially the Chinese customers, that the mamasans at X-Boys are horrible. Not all of them are so obnoxious, but the main two are just so horrible that they do really hurt business. The bad X-Boys mamasans also regularly play favorites and will steer customers to certain guys. Having said all that, there are some cute guys there and of course some customers most of the time. Some guys are very happy with the 300 a night, with a little less competition than Fresh Boys, and maybe a little more flexibility with nights off (for Hornet or Grindr customers) than they would get at Fresh Boys. And you only need one (or two on your birthday).1 point -
BT travelers to BRAZIL : where - when
Riobard reacted to SolaceSoul for a topic
There should be absolutely NO need for anyone here to be wandering around Pina Beach in Recife after dark. Praia do Pina is a regular family-styled beach but on its northern end, it ends in a large favela called Brasilia Teimosa. Even in broad daylight, locals vehemently advise against walking further than 100 m along this beach in a northerly direction. Apart from that, there is a well-developed beach section on the south side of the beach. The only thing you’ll need to do is drive in an Uber THROUGH this area near Pina Beach and Brasilia Teimosa from Boa Viagem in order to go over the bridge to get to two of the northern saunas (Progresso and Boa Vista — the other, Blue Thermas is in the center of the Boa Viagem neighborhood and song require that trek). The best area to stay in Recife is the center of Boa Viagem (NOT the northern end of the strip closer to Pina Beach, as mentioned in the above warning), near the Boa Viagem beach and park. As a strict safety rule, avoid all beaches after sundown anywhere in Brazil.1 point -
The ‘gayborhood’ in San Juan is on the other side of the highway from the traditional tourist areas of Condado and Ocean Park. Its an easy 10-15 minute walk from most hotels to the three main clusters of bars, discos and bathhouse located in the Santurce Arts & Culture District. Gay Bars in San Juan’s Condado Tourist Area: Although Condado used to be the center of all gay nightlife, over-gentrification has left the traditional tourist strip with only one remaining gay bar. But don’t worry – its a short walk under the highway to the Santurce Arts District where all the action continues just a 10 minute walk from Condado hotels. #11. Oasis (formerly Splash) – 6 Ave Condado across from the Marriott, next to Sandy Beach Hotel. Monday night is very popular with lots of strippers, low lights and much too much artificial smoke/fog/yuck… Look for Walgreens and CVS and walk toward the beach. Open afternoons til night. Neighborhood bar and tapas restaurant just a few steps to the beach. Atlantic Beach Hotel/Oceano Restaurant Beach – Also check out the beach in front of Atlantic Beach Hotel and Oceano Restaurantwhich is still very gay most days. Two blocks from Oasis (formerly Splash) if walking on the beach. Look for Calle Vendig if arriving via Ashford Avenue. The Atlantic Beach Hotel is listed in many gay guides – but call them and ask if you will be allowed to bring a friend up to your room – in the past, travelers have reported a strict ‘no visitors’ policy. Street Cruising – Lots of gay guys and gals live in Condado – so cruise along Ashford Avenue any time of day or night! Gay Bars and Clubs in Santurce Arts District: If you are at any of the Condado hotels – you can get to the Santurce Arts District by just crossing over or under the highway. There are three clusters of gay bars in the Santurce Arts District: Stop 18 at R.H. Todd Ave & Ponce de Leon Ave near the Metro Theater and Museum of Contemporary Art. Stop 22 is further down Ponce de Leon Ave at the intersection of De Diego Ave near the Fine Arts Center & Puerto Rico Museum of Art. Stop 24 is another 7-10 minute walk near the the intersection of Ponce de Leon and Calle Bolivar or Calle San Jorge. You can easily walk between each of the areas in about 10 minutes or grab a taxi. Note: ‘Stops’ or ‘Paradas’ are how locals estimate location along Ponce de Leon Avenue in the Arts District. This is a remnant from the old trolley system which hasn’t run since the 1940’s. There are no signs with the numbers (even at the bus stops) but all locals and taxi drivers will understand the general location from the ‘stop’ or ‘parada’ number. Santurce: Stop 18 Gay Bars – across the highway from Condado near Metro Theater & Museum of Contemporary Art. These are on Calle Condado (mislabeled Avenida Condado on the street sign) which is one block to the right if you are facing the Museum of Contemporary Art. The street has abandoned buildings and looks very seedy – but is generally safe. If someone approaches you just say ‘No Thanks’ and move on, just like you would in NYC. There are also a few straight bars on the block, so be careful and don’t assume everyone is gay – use your ‘gaydar’ and be respectful. If taking a taxi – just tell them ‘Stop 18’ and then go one block to the bars. #6. SX – 1204 Ave Ponce de Leon – Late night strippers and dance every night. Find the stainless steel door (usually with a doorman) and then go downstairs. There is a straight bar just next door at street level, so don’t get confused. Hot bartenders, strippers, loud music, dance floor in the front. Go upstairs at the back and then downstairs to find the darker, less noisy ‘hang-out’ area. #7. VIP – 613 Calle Condado – Very popular with the young Reggaetón and hip-hop crowd. Starts late and stays open after the other bars have closed. Same building as Scandalo but closer to Ponce de Leon. #8. Scandalo – 613 Calle Condado – late night strippers and more. #9. El Chinchorro de ‘W’ – Calle Condado on the block before Circo. New gay bar and snacks with great Happy Hour prices. Very popular late night! #10. Circo – 650 Calle Condado – Multi-level video bar and disco. Mansion Lounge – this is a straight bar in the middle of all the gay action on Calle Condado.KRASH Disco – 1257 Ave Ponce de Leon (next to Metro Cinema). Closed permanently for several years, but is still in many guides – so we’ve listed it for reference only Santurce: Stop 22 Gay Bars: Across the highway between the Fine Arts Center & Puerto Rico Museum of Art. If taking a taxi, tell them Ponce de Leon & Ave. De Diego – Santurce. #4. Tia Maria Bar & Liquor Store – 326 Ave De Diego – Neighborhood Gay Bar. Open from afternoon til midnight or 1am on weekdays, later weekends. Make sure you go on Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday nights for gay Karaoke from about 9pm until ??? #5. The Palace – 1501 Ave Ponce de Leon (2rd Floor) – 2nd floor disco and rooftop bar/terrace. Just around the corner from Tia Maria. Update April 2, 2016: They have now put up a new sign saying ‘Coming Soon’ and the entrance around the corner has a notice ‘Coming Soon’ as Papi’s Club… so not sure what will emerge… I’ll update as soon as I get info… Santurce: Stop 24 Gay Bars: This is the intersection of Ponce de Leon and Calle Bolivar. If you arrive from Ocean Park via Calle San Jorge, go past the San Jorge Children’s Hospital and up the hill to San Mateo Church. Then only one short block downhill to Ponce de Leon. If walking along Ponce de Leon from Tia Maria and The Palace, you go past the Ciudadela Condo Complex, First Bank, Arrivi Theater, Cobian’s Plaza (turn right for Temptation) and some vacant buildings until Abracadabraand Hotel San Jorge (for Zal Si Puedes). If taking a taxi, tell the driver ‘Stop 24’ at Leonardo’s or Cobian’s Plaza & walk one block. Bartender Angel at Temptation! #1. Temptation – 608 Calle Bolivar – Just one block from Cobian’s Plaza (3 blocks from Tia Maria and The Palace). Club is open from 9pm every night with Happy Hour Specials (see below for details). No cover charge. Everyone is welcome! Weekly Drag show at 2am on Saturday night! Temptation is easy to get to from all major hotel areas by taxi, driving (plenty of free street parking in the area) or even by walking from Condado/Ocean Park or a short walk from the other bar areas. www.temptationpr.com Happy Hours EVERY NIGHT at Temptation! #2. Zal Si Puedes – 1700 Ave Ponce de Leon. Small, friendly club catering to the 40+ crowd. Open Wednesday – Sunday nights from about 10pm til about 2am. Drag shows are mostly Thurs – Sat nights about 11:45pm but a diva may show up at any moment. Friendly and Fun! Located at Hotel San Jorge. The bar has seating for about 15 people – but often has up to 50 crowded in for shows plus spill-over on the street. You’ll see all the classic Latina Divas – like La Lupe, Yolandita, Paloma San Basilico, plus Barbara Streisand and Donna Summers thrown in if you’re lucky! #3. Xteamworks – 1752 Ave Fernandez Juncos. Bathhouse on second floor open from 6pm til about 2am Sunday – Thursday and until 6am on Friday and Saturday nights. A little hard to find, so check out their website for map. It’s next to a gas station with 24 hour mini-mart and upstairs from a sign store. Look for the doorbell next to the steel mesh gate on the right side of the ground floor entry. Very discrete from the street – very hot once you get there! Too far to walk home, so make sure that they help you call a taxi back to your hotel – or head back to Zal Si Puedes (two blocks away) or Temptations (four blocks away) and continue the fun! -------------------------------------------------------- From a recent gay guide on san juan.
