  1. Day 1-3: Sao Paulo State of Mind I am condensing the first non-sauna days in this post, because I think most people here prefer the sexy sauna bits anyway. But to others who also like the travel bits, here’s three days’ worth of Sao Paulo state. As the days grew closer to the actual trip, Leo, Alex and I were getting excited. They strongly suggested that we all should go to Sao Vicente, a coastal town by the Atlantic coast, about an hour and a half drive from the city of Sao Paulo. Alex was going to borrow his parent’s car and we would all chip in for an AirBNB for 3 nights. We found a nice two-bedroom just by the beach in the nearby city of Santos. There weren’t any GP saunas in the area (I think), but there were GPs that could be found on Hornet and Grindr (this is Brazil after all). I told my friends that it would be nice to at least have a companion (for sex, talks, whatever else) if Diego decided to flake out on me. So Leo, who is always trying to help, set his fake GPS thing to Sao Vicente and hunted for a few boys for me in case I was solo for the trip. It was important for him to find eye candy as well, because he likes filling his Instagram with pretty things. His findings, ranging from 150 reals for a sex session, to 500 reals per day: Boy 1: Boy 2: Boy 3: We go close to hiring this one, he was 400 reals a day: But the boys weren’t needed. On the day that I would arrive in Sao Paulo, Diego informed me and Leo, through Whatsapp, that he was about to board his Azul flight from Santos Dumont in Rio, to Guarulhos. I was also arriving at Guarulhos, and timed Diego’s flight to arrive the same time as mine did. When I landed I immediately turned my cellphone on, and then a flood of messages on Whatsapp came. Some from Leo and Alex, informing me that they were coming to pick me up, and Diego, sending me photos of his FIRST time on a plane (I didn’t know), all excited, as he made his way from Rio. Diego was already telling me it was the best trip of his life. And he hasn’t even made it to Sao Paulo yet. Immigration was surprisingly quick, as well as baggage arrival. I stepped out onto the arrivals area of Terminal 3 of Guarulhos looking all haggard and gross from the flight from Miami (and the previous flight the night before). Leo and Alex, looking all excited and… Brazilian (as in handsome, trim, and tan) were there waiting. They both greet me in Portuguese, and proceed to ask me how my flight was. It always takes me a day to fully adjust my brain to talking in a different language, since I am usually out of practice, so what came out of my mouth was a horrible garbled version of what my Portuguese usually sounds, and required constant repetition from the boys because what was coming out of my mouth was mostly unintelligible. I was whisked away to the parking garage and had my bags carried by both guys. Alex’s car was a Volkswagen sedan (the Virtus). We drove away and got to Terminal 2, where we saw Diego, looking all handsome in his crisp white shirt, slim jeans, and blond highlights, waiting for us at the curb. He was tanner than I remembered which made his green eyes pop out even more. He sees us and breaks out a million watt smile. I was so glad he came through. I am looking forward to spending more time with him. Our first stop was Leo’s house to have dinner with his mother. Lasagna was what was for dinner, as one would expect from a family with Italian roots. The mother was a fellow whore, and had stories of all the huge penises she has taken in the past. A shower for both Diego and I was next, and Diego wasted no time showing me how much he missed me as well. He had a tan line from where his sunga would be. It was hot. We were told by Leo and Alex to dress up comfortably but fashionably, which meant shorts and a nice t-shirt and shoes I guess. 1. No rest for the wicked: This first night, a Friday night, was really nice out, which for gays here usually meant going to the outdoor bars near Rua Frei Caneca, one of the gay streets in Sao Paulo. Alex parks at a nearby parking lot and then gets all of us cheap beers from a nearby market as we join the throngs of gays sipping beers, talking and flirting with each other. I got my Portuguese to a respectable level enough to not embarrass myself. Though I heard the word “gringo” uttered a few times to describe me: 2. From one gay bar to the next: At 1 AM we quit bar hopping in Sao Paulo, and after a stopover at McDonalds to get sundaes for the road (my treat) we drove straight down to Sao Vicente, the gay beach. The 1.5 hour drive to the beach town was not bad, though we did encounter fog in the last 20 minutes of our drive. We arrived at 2:45 AM, and apparently there was still a lot of gay socializing to be had. Alex stopped at a sandwich shop called Quiosque Ponto G, which is a pretty chill gay hotspot in Sao Vicente, and at this hour in the morning, it was still hopping with gays. https://www.facebook.com/quiosquepontoglsaovicente/ 3. Russian Dressing: Probably the main attraction of Quiosque Ponto G was not the gay clientele or the food or the drinks, it was this waiter: He got us our drink orders and seemed pretty shy and didn’t talk much. Leo was in love of course, and after the waiter left to get our drinks, was raving about how blue the waiter's eyes were. When the waiter comes back with our drinks, Leo was hell bent on talking to him to see what the waiter’s deal was. Leo was trying to flirt with the guy, but 10 seconds into their conversation everyone was wondering where the guy was from, because it was clear, from the long pauses he takes before answering our questions, that Portuguese wasn't his first language. People in our table (and everyone else within earshot) were speculating where he came from. The consensus of the people so far was that he was Venezualan. I asked the guy for him name. “Dmitri,” the guy answers, with the D sounding like how you say it in Portuguese. “Russo!” I shout out. “Voce e Russo!” He smiles and goes back to the counter to serve more drinks. Of course the guy was Russian. Those blue eyes, that blonde hair, impossibly smooth skin. Large powerful legs and blonde hair peppering his arms and legs. I wonder if he was a garoto de programa as well. We speculated about it all night. To this day, I wonder about it. I didn’t get a photo of him but got these from the FB page of Quiosque Ponto G. Photos don’t do him justice. He was just freakin' gorgeous. 4. Beaches with Bitches: We got home at 5 AM and slept till noon. Enough time to check out the beaches. First day went back to Sao Vicente to hang out at Ponto G (as in gay), and just stayed there basking in the sun and drank all day: Next day we ventured out all the way to Guaruja, which meant getting on a ferry with our car and crossing the water: Guaruja was a more well-off part of this area. Leo told me a lot about his childhood spent here with his family and this beach. Caipirinhas and finger food for lunch: For dinner and breakfast, everyone pitched in, and we cooked meals at the AirBNB. We did need a lot of food, since we had to feed all four of us plus all of our tricks: This eerily reminds me of a family outing. Maybe this is my family now. 5. Gays gays gays. Sao Vicente was widely known as the gay part of the area, and Santos, where our AirBNB was, was only 5 minutes away. It was 175 reals a night for a 2 bedroom with a spacious common area, and Leo, Alex and I split the three nights, so it was fair. Also Grindr predictably blew up, and it was full of free boys: And I never really knew how horny Brazilians are before I decided to spend a long weekend with a house full of them. Leo seemed to have a revolving door of tricks from Hornet. If he couldn’t do it in his and Alex’s bedroom, he would just do it in the living room. He didn’t care who saw. Which was fine by me. #pervert Alex, on the other hand, stuck to one boy he met on Day 2. But the pairing slightly crossed the line from what I was comfortable with. The age of consent in Brazil is what, 18? That’s what Leo and Diego told me. The boy Alex met may have been younger than that. The boy may have stayed over at our AirBNB. The boy and Alex may have bickered like an old married couple. It was a running joke the whole weekend. Leo and Diego teased Alex mercilessly about his choice, and that he may go to prison because the boy may be underage. Alex didn’t care. He may have been in love. At this point I could not say anything bad to Alex. I just played along. I wouldn’t be arrested because of this right? I wasn’t doing anything wrong? I really didn’t know the boy’s real age. He did seem a bit young. Oh well, moving on, before I get in trouble. 6. Speaking of old married couples, Diego and I were bonding pretty well. We took ownership of the bedroom that had the queen bed and adjoining bathroom, and made good use of the privacy this provided, in between bar visits and beach lounging. While I could have probably gotten some free tail from Grindr (just because the place was crawling with gays this weekend), I did not want to waste my time looking on my phone while on vacation. I was glad I had my guy there already, and all I had to do was relax and be with me, instead of being distracted about getting the next trip, which Leo was at times. And what I appreciated most about Diego is that he learned to speak Portuguese slower than he usually does, to help with my nascent Portuguese skills and American ears. Actually, Leo and Alex also got to enunciating their words and slowing down their speech cadence for me. At one point, all three got used to slow talking Portuguese that they started talking like this to other Brazilians. Hilarity ensues. On Monday morning at 2 AM, we needed to head back to the city of Sao Paulo. Leo and Alex both had work on Monday, so we all had to end our beach adventures. I offered to drive while Leo and Alex slept in the back. Diego kept me company on the passenger’s seat, not sleeping, but talking to me and singing along to the Spotify playlist I had on in the car, to keep me awake. When we got to the city, it was raining cats and dogs, but I got all of us safely to Alex’s condo building in Tatuape. We all took our luggage and situated ourselves at Alex’s place. Alex laid out a queen-size matress in the living room where he and Leo would sleep. He offered up his bedroom for me and Diego to sleep in. I told him we could just sleep on the mattress but Alex insisted since I was his guest. He gave me a set of keys to the apartment and told me help myself to anything in the house. Diego took a shower, asked me if I wanted sex (tomorrow, I tell him), went to bed and was out like a light. Alex was out too on the mattress. Leo and I stayed up talking till 5 AM. Then, Leo took a shower and then called an Uber to go to his work at a studio somewhere west of Paulista. No sleep for him. I take my own shower, and then snuggled next to Diego. Diego turns around to face me and spoons. He was big spoon. “To frio,” he says, saying that he was cold from the rain still going on outside. This was nice. Next, Diego and Leo, with me at Sauna Lagoa.

  6. Inspired by the sharing of our milk sister @Tartegogo, I downloaded Tinder to my phone. At the beginning, I loved it. The swiping left, right, and up, and the limitation to connect only when there is a match, just got me. Soon I was paying for the Plus version, mainly to be able to scout other locations. I did notice some glitches. The app would sometimes freeze, specially when I would tap in the notifications. But I still loved it. I was making a lot of connections in Salvador and in DC. The app let you know there is people who liked you, but in order to know who they are, you have to pay for the Gold version. I was hooked, so I did. I should have been billed about 50 bucks, to make the difference between the 100 of the Plus I had already paid, and the 150 of the Gold version. Instead, they billed me 150. I contacted the app developers because this was obviously a glitch (or perhaps a designed scam) in their product, but they send me to Apple store. Once I explained the situation, Apple immediately refunded my money. This story was actually longer and more frustrating that it sounds. God save Apple. Death to Tinder.

    What's up?

After several years of dwindling drive, I was surprised to find a reliable resurgence of randiness with not a single new pill added to the arsenal. As someone who hates spending more than ten minutes a day cooking for myself, it had long been a nagging concern that I was not getting very good nutrition, let alone the recommended three servings a day of veggies and two servings of fruit that I knew I should be getting. It finally occurred to me that a power blender might be the answer as, within five minutes, I could create a smoothie that would give me everything the FDA wanted me to have. So I got this blender: Every day, I started throwing in a big fistful of power greens (spinach, kale, chard), another fistful of baby carrots, a tomato, a handful of frozen berries, a scoop of high-quality protein powder, and enough water to make a shake-like consistency. Hitting the “smoothie” button produced, in less than a minute, a decent-tasting drink that took care of all the nutritional good stuff that had been missing from my diet. I then felt free to eat whatever else I felt like during the day, knowing that the basics were taken care of. I got everything I needed at Costco: blender, veggies, fruit, and protein powder. To my surprise, my sex drive returned, along with just enough priapism to make it actionable. After several months, owing to a hiatus from Costco, I stopped the daily drink and away went the sex drive. Back to Costco, and back came the sex drive. I’ve since done it enough times to know that, for me, this nutritional boost is a reliable way to get the nether regions working almost as in days of yore. I don’t know if it’s the fruit and veggies, the protein, or all of the above that make the difference, as I always throw everything in together. But I do know the combo delivers reliable results. I also get a general boost of energy with this blend, which started out being mildly irritating as I now have no excuse for not doing the things I don’t feel like doing. Worth noting that, unlike a juicer, the power blender retains all the fiber. My glucose numbers go down when I'm on this regimen, and my doctor told me that fiber is most likely the reason why. Anyhoo, wanted to share this experience with folks who have likewise been meaning to improve their nutrition and were looking for an easy way to do it.

  10. I have eaten at all ten or so sit-down dining establishments in central Gloria, district as encircled in yellow. EXCEPT Casa da Suiça in the Swiss Consulate, a restaurant that is now permanently closed. My favourite is Grégora Arte directly across the street from Clube 117. Dined there a few dozen times, never a disappointing meal whether 'fixed price' lunch, a snack, or dinner. I find that the preparation has a little more flair, and the meat is not overly salted. They also stock a large selection of imported European brews. Along with the regular menu card, there is always a fish, beef, chicken, and vegetarian lunch special selection. It is often fully occupied. The streetside patio is nicely shaded and quite comfortable on hot days. It is walkable for me. I think many 117 visitors have bypassed it because they often shoot out of the club like a bat out of hell and want to get to their more conventional tourist districts. Unfortunate, that, if one is hungry and has time prior to the final subway run.

  14. Not as far as I'm concerned. Shortly after HB's death, Daddy was quite verbose about getting his hands on the review archive, or salvaging pieces of it that he happened to have in his possession. He also talked quite a bit about his dealing with HB's family through it all. These threads were once available for all to read. I sincerely doubt they still exist.

  16. Fair or not, few people care about either site no matter what they say. They go to each opportunistically, depending on availability and likelihood of delivering info or cameraderie or whatever they need at that moment. Oz seems like a genuinely good guy, but gratitude to him—or Deej/Daddy for that matter—doesn’t drive site traffic.

    The Other Forum Closing

The M4M forums have a long history of uneven moderation. So you can mention boytoy now. Great, but who knows if it will change again tomorrow? Maybe the future there is all rainbows and unicorns. Maybe we'll get another round of biased bans after the next tidal wave of nastiness rolls through. I think the track record makes the second more likely. Personally, I'm of the "fooled me once" school and am not interested in re-engaging over there. But, if you find them valuable and enjoy them, then have at. Nobody is stopping you (well except the random monthlong shutdown...) I do think it's legitimate to warn people about this history over there though, because history does tend to repeat. People who have really been on the receiving end of that uneven moderation and bias are likely to be more vocal about that distaste.

  21. I am sick, just decided to take the day off. Besides, I just smoked my pipe. This is to warn you that I am probably in a Love & Peace hippy mood right now. Sometimes it is about the momentum. Thinking of the socio-cultural-political context, of course we could be worse but we are already pretty low and perhaps it is time for a tide change. The political situation is horrible, I do not need to add anything about it, but we all are so focused on blaming Trump that we are missing the big picture. Beyond our routine mass shootings in the USA, we have now Americans killing other Americans because they are White, or Black, or (fill the ethnicity), or Christian, or Jewish, or Muslim, or (fill the religion), or gay, or trans, etc. It is not only in America, this reactionary hating trend started in Europe, all the shit starts in Europe. I am ignorant about the situation of the progressive field in Europe, but in he USA and in South America we have good reasons to be hopeful, despite our dark present of Trumps and Bolsonaros. I am feeling/wishing for a change in the tide, otherwise it would be like History going backwards. I do not think such a thing is possible. However, we (our tiny subculture) have a problem. A tide change does not guarantee anything to us. There is no shortage of liberals and progressive minded friends who are enemies of pornography, adult entertainment, and sex work. That is why I think it is of the upmost importance to be as united as possible, as visible and spoken up as possible. We should be trying to establish alliances with our mainstream brothers and sisters, with civil rights advocacy organizations, with the LGBQT lobby (they are not always our friends), with every open minded and sex positive social and political leaders. If we do not do that, the next wave could be worse instead of good news for us. That is why I am wishing that after diving in deep shit; McCain and Bush deaths are inspiring a reflection that adds to the hopeful Blue Wave of new women/minorities leaders. I am wishing that both Daddy;s and Boytoy communities are able to move on and work together when friendly competition must be put aside; that everyone associated with the adult entertainment, pornoraphy, and sex work industries is able to come together some way, to lobby for our rights to exist and thrive and service and contribute to Common Wealth. I am wishing for this to be the momentum when our voice can be clear and our listeners ready to learn about who we really are. As I said, I think I am going through a melodramatic Love and Peace momentum.

  22. The point of both sites has been and always will be to encourage gay male escorts to make money and a place for men who hire them to have a safe place to talk, chat and learn. I think we have both accomplished that over the years. I have always been glad there were multiple sites devoted to the love of escorts. It is one of my passions and thus why I will be around doing this for the long haul.

  23. The situation has probably changed with time. I have mentioned several times boytoy at the other site, without any consequences. My honest opinion is that Daddy's is the best resource for American escorts related issues, and Boytoy has that place for international escorts. This opinion has been shared multiple times without suffering any consequences. I even recommended everyone to come and sign up here during the closing. It is true that over there there are not only admin but also members with a negative attitude towards boytoy, and viceversa here. However I think time is healing the wounds. I started my connection with our subculture through Daddy's, and was always intrigued by that animosity. I finally joined here to research the history and found everything somewhere in the sandbox. Sad. I am glad I was not involved in that situation. Otherwise, I would probably be in the same situation many friends are now, unable to move on. We are a very small community, stigmatized even by many LGBQT friends and always at risk of being targeted by law enforcement and policy making. I think it is time to move on and work together for our common goals. We should be looking for outside allies to lobby for a more sex positive, and sex work positive culture and legislation. Instead, we are bitching against each other. I am sure I have been guilty many times, but I promise I will try to make a better job.

  24. Indeed he was not perfect and I have never been a fan, but we should judge him for more than his alleged homophobia. The man presided over the end of the Cold War. With someone else in office, we could be still cleaning up nuked cities. As many commentators are pointing out, what makes Bush's life and contributions more meaningful is the contrast with the current commander in chief. Bush's death could mark the end of a political era, or could be the inspiration to return to common sense, rationality, and bipartisanship. Let's see whether Mueller may add some condiments to the momentum.

  25. I've been fascinated by the coverage. It's very dignified and respectful, which I find refreshing and mature. The family entered today unannounced, to meet and greet the visitors. I saw Dole. I agree it was very moving. And then there was beautiful Sully, Bush's service dog. James Baker has been making the rounds, and his personal friendship story is amazing. Baker was a Democrat and changed his party affiliation to work for and support his dear friend. Now that's friendship. Most amazing to me, and it got a lot of buzz this week, was Maureen Dowd's very personal piece in the NY Times. They had an ongoing friendship for many years, which he often kept from family members to keep the peace. He would meet with her privately and lie about it. Many secrets were revealed in the article, and it made me wonder how the family deals with that emotionally. I love reading about these truths after someone dies. And, supposedly, Bush viewed Bill Clinton as another son. He was bedside with Hillary after Bill's open heart surgery. Fascinating.

  27. And I piss on his casket. The man was a homophobe who stayed silent with Reagan all 8 years, then only late in his one term presidency did much about helping people with AIDS, years after gay men started suffering and dying. How many men died because of the homophobia of Bush and Reagan. Closing down the government tomorrow for this one term travesty is a travesty in itself. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/03/us/george-bush-hiv-aids.html?action=click&module=Well&pgtype=Homepage&section=US

I own a delivery business of our own products so we eat it if our delivery personnel delivers anything to anyone else other than the recipient. If the delivery company says delivered to a neighbor they should have a signature of who signed for it.

  35. Unfortunately the foreign exchange rate will entirely depend on your American bank (or Argentinian bank), not on the ATM. The withdrawal fee (like the 2 dollars fixed fee that some ATM will charge you just for withdrawing any amount) will exist or not, depending on the relationship between your bank and the ATM owner. For example in Brazil i withdraw for free in Bradesco since it has a relationship with Hsbc which is one of my banks. But if I go anywhere else than Bradesco, they charge me the withdrawal fee. Never been to Salvador, so not sure about the availability of specific ATMs, but google maps are very good at locating them. If you check with your bank in the US, whether they have any special agreement with any Brazilian banks, and then google map for that bank’s ATM, you may be able to figure out what to do. Buying currency at a “cambio” kiosk, either in the US, at the airport, or in a Brazilian city, you should expect to loose about 5% of your money (they use punitive exchange rates bc they have to pay a trustworthy human to handle the transaction, they have to securely store various amounts of banknotes from many countries etc,) Withdrawing from an ATM, you should expect to loose less than 1.5% of your money’s value, because everything is automated. No salaries to pay. And it is a single currency storage, which already exists because the ATM already exists to serve the locals. (if you have a withdrawal fee, always withdraw the maximum amount to lower the impact, a $2 fee on $40 withdrawal is 5 %, but $2 on $500 is only 0.4%). That is how it works for me, others might have had different experiences. Ps: Some US and UK banks have credit cards with no international payment fees too, these can be good value if you can get one, to pay your sauna entrances, restaurants and hotel bills.
