The photo of this man needs to be taken down unless there is a verifiable charge made against him from a law enforcement agency. It amazes me how there is such bloviating about civil liberties on this site and then a photo is posted which could cause harm to someone who is completely innocent of a non existent crime.3 points -
We read in the Playboy interview with Ezra about his poly group. When I was watching a mainstream tv show called SWAT, they discussed this on the last episode and one of the swat members is joining a couple as their third. I think this is a great thing but did not know the world was talking about it. I had a few escorts in NYC who worked for me who were in these relationships and it worked well for them.2 points

I have not seen much info on Costa Rica here, so I wrote up a report about a trip I took several years ago. I checked as I was writing, and most of the info still seems to be relevant (places are still in operation, etc.) Prices may have changed, of course. I have visited Costa Rica twice now, but haven’t been since summer 2012. I am excited to return next month. I found Costa Rica to be beautiful and laid back, and a lot of fun. The country’s infrastructure is very basic, with a clear division between the poor/older areas and the newer upscale areas. All of the gay attractions I visited were in the older areas. I stayed in San Jose and in Manuel Antonio and enjoyed both. San Jose The strip club Pucho’s has a very standard formula: At 10:00 PM, the strippers all come out in G-strings and dance for exactly 10 minutes. Afterward, you get 50 minutes of drag queens who are actually pretty good. At 11:00 PM, the boys return, but this time fully nude…then 50 more minutes of drag queens. At midnight, the dancers return, but this time with erections, and they dance for 10 minutes. Many clients approach the stage and sample the merchandise (sometimes even with their mouths). If at any time you decide you want a “private” with one of the dancers, you pay the bartender, and the dancer takes you behind the scenes. I did not go, but it seemed that they simply took clients into the dressing room, where other strippers and drag queens were located. Any of those strippers is available for a fee, but you may have to pay a fee to the bar if they leave before the midnight show. Pucho’s is popular among locals, but not just for the dancers. They have a restaurant and a patio and a dark room attached. This was not immediately apparent, because the door is kept closed between the two parts…you must go through what looks like a door to the outside, but is really a door into the restaurant, cut through the corner of the restaurant, and then exit again onto the patio. The dark room and patio are packed. Many types of guys. Younger, older, nondescript, handsome…truly all types of guys go there. There is a brothel in San Jose called Oasis Erotic Massage. You enter the place, and the proprietor calls all the working guys to the front, and you get to make your choice. There are different price points, and the proprietor explains in Spanish that everything is included including oral, or penetration if you go with the more expensive option (you also get a nicer room). You basically pay $25 or $40, depending on what you want, and that includes the use of a room for an hour. Despite the very explicit assurances by the guy who runs the place, the guy I went with (a handsome and friendly 19 year old from Honduras), tried to get more money from me for basic services. I wouldn’t say it was a great option, but a few of the guys were at least young/cute/fuckable. The better place I found to look for escorts was on craigslist or on the Spanish language websites that offer erotic services ads, or on Grindr (I apologize, but I can’t recall the specific website that had many ads for escorts and massage). On this next trip, I will also try Planet Romeo. I had a lot of luck simply going to bars and meeting people. Ticos are friendly and approachable, and gay tourists are enough of a novelty to garner some attention just by their presence. Late one night, after exiting Pucho’s and getting into one of the many waiting taxis, the driver asked me if I was looking for a boy, because he knew a place where lots of hustlers hang out--Parque Nacional on Av.1 and Calle 19. He said that any of them would be very happy to do anything I wanted for $20, or they would stay the whole day/night for $40. I had already arranged to meet someone at my hotel for massage and oral ($20), but I took his card and he promised he would take me there the next day. Unfortunately, with the janky cell phone service at that time, I could not reach him the next day, despite trying about 20 times. I got a message each time saying the person you are trying to reach is out of the area or unavailable. I did call a regular taxi and try to drive past the park the next evening, but the driver did not speak English, so rather than explaining what I was doing, I asked him to drive slowly past the park because I was looking for a friend. After one trip around the block, and not seeing any likely candidates, I told him to circle back and I would get out and wait for my friend, and he immediately responded with alarm, “No, no, no. Muy peligroso! (very dangerous)” This was something I encountered several times in San Jose: warnings from the locals to never walk anywhere downtown after dark. Always take a taxi. Even for a trip of one or two blocks. I didn’t spend enough time there to gauge if these warnings were overblown, because I figured it was probably better to be safe than sorry, and I took a taxi everywhere. And one final note on the taxis: three of my taxi drivers let me know very plainly that they would be willing to fuck for a little money, and I got the feeling that several others would have been open to the idea. Manuel Antonio Manuel Antonio has a reputation as a gay destination, but the reasons for that seem to be historical (there used to be a popular nude beach, but it has been shut down because a hotel was built overlooking the beach). There is a gay hotel that I enjoyed very much (Hotel Villa Roca: https://www.villaroca.com/ ), but the area has very little to offer in the way of sex tourism, at least that I could find. It is pretty much a beautiful jungle paradise, with an amazing national forest where I saw sloths, toucans, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, and a beautiful but very poisonous golden eyelash viper (oropel). The tour guide I hired through the desk clerk at my hotel turned out to be a fun and friendly gay bear who came onto me, but he wasn’t really my type, so I passed, but I did enjoy his tour very much. There were two guys in the area offering massage, but it was clear that it was legit/therapeutic massage, and the desk clerk acted completely scandalized when I asked if there were any guys who offered “extra” service. He shouted at me, “NO!” and said there was no way any guys in the area would do such a thing. This despite the fact that I was hit up by a few guys on Grindr, so I knew very well that there WERE locals who were willing to provide services for a fee. Most of those guys live in the nearby town of Quepos, so expect to pay for their taxi to your location if you stay at Villa Roca or one of the resorts closer to the national park. There were multiple other clients staying at the property. They have a happy hour each evening at the pool, and that offered a chance to hang out with the other guests, who were mostly from Mexico and Costa Rica, or from other Central and South American countries. I got the vibe that the very handsome bartender would have been available for pay. One last note about Manuel Antonio/Villa Roca: After I returned to San Jose, I happened to see one of the owners of Villa Roca at a bar with an attractive, much younger guy. So, if I were to return to Manuel Antonio, I would be more likely to ask the owners of the property about the availability of rentboys, rather than the officious desk clerk. Or maybe hire someone in San Jose and take them along if you want to be sure of companionship.1 point

At least that's what one would think from this article in the Washington Post. The bigot was US Attorney for the Southern District of Idaho from 2004-2009. An openly gay local politician lost over $100,000 defending himself against charges brought by the evangelical Christian. He won the case, but he lost the money. Such is the power of a US Attorney. Now he is "acting" Attorney General despite never having been confirmed by Congress at any level. With all of the crap being revealed about him, I'd say he's toast, even in Trump's world. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/whitakers-term-as-us-attorney-in-iowa-draws-scrutiny/2018/11/09/7eaee04c-e472-11e8-8f5f-a55347f48762_story.html?utm_term=.8dbce9d5fb99 MORE: Trump lies, says he doesn't know Whitaker despite multiple meetings: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-distances-himself-from-whitaker-amid-scrutiny-over-past-comments-and-business-ties/2018/11/09/c77b7388-e44c-11e8-8f5f-a55347f48762_story.html?utm_term=.a508bb9ef3921 point

In Portuguese, the distinction is less important. If you want to research general murder (noun) in the news you look for assassinato or homicídio ... assassinado for past tense. Using 'assassinate' was but mildly assaultive linguistically. Besides, so many politicians are made to take a dirt nap, they are scooped into the generic 86ed category.1 point -

I was harshly noticed for a PETA photo and was timed out a week for "posting my medical" in the Viagra and Cialis thread......wtf? Saying I use Viagra in a Viagra thread? You'll find politics doesn't work on this site either. We don't try. The few times I've seen it attempted here it was almost comical. We just do sex. Avalon and a few others over there seem to have no other life, certainly no sex, and enjoy getting attention of any sort and having a "purpose". Sad.1 point -

I view venting as healthy, necessary therapy. "Dwell too much" is subjective. Members (and Oz) tend to be very vocal when you've hit their limit. Not sure it's fair to call it the "daddy site" anymore. Guy Fawkes can now be anyone in admin. I would assume GF is deej. I would assume deej is doing most of the time-outs. Daddy almost always wanted as little to do with the forum as possible. A lot of members wrongly think Daddy is running that forum. "Admin" attempts to run the place in secrecy, given the Feds and all that, but they also use the secrecy to keep members in check. The biggest mistake anyone can have about anything "Daddy's" is to expect honest transparency. It's just not going to happen. Many "respected" members from the Hooboy years experienced the knife in their back. The longer you remain loyal and donate your precious time there, the better chances you'll feel just how sharp that knife is. Some board owners fail to acknowledge the importance of meaningful contributors. Laziness and complacency among board admin is a notorious problem in forum life. If you're not careful, your board will end up with nothing but Avalons, lonely guys who love to talk to themselves, and ask inane questions every five minutes. In fairness, referring to back in the day, Daddy would respond to private emails in a thoughtful, polite manner, and not try to pose as someone else. The same is not true of deej. Deej is a sneaky liar, who thinks he's smarter than any other member. When I publicly called him out on one of his lies, I got banned. I was very proud of that moment. I still am. Haven't read the politics forum there in years. I remember one White escort who was blatantly racist against Blacks. We used to communicate privately. Without knowing the specifics and reading deleted threads, it'll be difficult to explain what you feel is a "blatant pattern." Sounds like a deej reaction to me. Nobody knows rude and obnoxious quite like deej.1 point -

Several years ago, I was at Clube 117 on a typical night with lots of clients and garotos. There was a friendly client there that I knew from the saunas and from occasional lunch meetings away from the saunas. He was originally from France. He had moved to Rio and had an apartment. The last time I saw the Frenchmen was at Clube 117. He was doing ordinary things people do at saunas and we were chatting about trivial things. After a while, a garoto I had never seen before, approached us and said hello. The garoto was not interesting to me but the Frenchman liked him. I stayed a minute talking with the two but excused myself after I realized the Frenchman wanted to get together with the garoto. A few minutes later, I saw the two go toward the front desk and I assumed they were going for a key to a room. Instead, the Frenchman and the garoto left the sauna together. I thought nothing of the Frenchman choosing to go off premises with a new garoto rather than stay at the sauna to get together. The Frenchman was quite familiar with Brazil and with meeting garotos. The next day, I did not see the Frenchman at the usual pro kilo place where he and I planned to have lunch. However, the next evening, when I went to Clube 117, I heard that the Frenchman had been strangled to death in his apartment. To my further surprise, there were two Brazilian policemen at the sauna and had asked to talk with me and with a couple of other Americans because various garotos said that the Frenchman and we had been talking just before the Frenchman left the sauna with a garoto. We were asked to look through many photos that were stored at the front desk of the sauna. The photos were copies of identification cards of garotos who were required to furnish their identification in order to work at the sauna. Sure enough, the photo of the garoto who left with the Frenchman was among the photos. The policemen thanked us and that was all I knew about the incident. We all agreed the photo was the correct person who left the sauna with the Frenchman. The police did not seem very interested because the only thing they knew about us was our first name (when you check in at the sauna they ask only for your first name) and that we were foreigners. I don’t know if the garoto was ever found or if the killing was ever solved. I later learned the only reason for police involvement was because the murdered man was not Brazilian. I was told that killings of gays is common in Brazil and does not even warrant a news report or investigation unless the gay is a foreigner. Not a pretty picture, by any means.1 point -

So I am inside bogota’s Babylon right now. It is underwear day, which means they don’t hand out towels, (because they don’t want anyone walking around covered by a towel) even after you have just taken a shower. At first they told me I ca have a towel if I take a shower, Now they are refusing to give it to me, this is hilarious. So, to piss then off I am walking around naked and very wet rather than in my underwear. Pkease note that there are no masseurs in this place any longer. This is just a normal sauna for clients to play with each other. I got a private room for a few extra dollars and it is not very nice, it smells etc. Frankly I do NOT recommend.1 point -

I hope in the short term aggressive policing tactics don't actually inflame the situation and lead to more aggressive tactics by the criminals. All the police in the world won't stop crime unless the criminals decide not to commit crimes anymore. I echo what other posters have said--my friends in Rio have said that there has been a change in Rio--what was always a bit dangerous has become much more so. That being said I will continue to visit and will only go out with what I can afford to lose and be prepared to give it up at the first sign of trouble.1 point -
Speaking of Trump supporters, there is a forum member (who will go unnamed at this time) who thinks Trump can do no wrong. I am wondering what happened to this supporter since the election and Trump lost control of the House? The forum member has not posted since the election. He used to post fairly often. He either disappeared or is in hiding. The forum member seems like a nice guy, even if he is misguided by Trump. Could it be the sweeping results of the election (whereby Trump suffered a loss of the House of Representatives) that is keeping the forum member in hiding? Or, could it be the incessant child-like tantrums Trump has been having lately? Or, is it the fact Trump sent thousands of active military troops to the Mexican border in a political stunt that is embarrassing the forum member into hiding? All this embarrassment is not good for Trump supporters.1 point

I am one of the unlucky ones that have been robbed at gunpoint a few times in Brazil. Two times in Sao Paulo and once in Rio. But, both in Sao Paulo were at the Citibank and in broad daylight when I was getting money from an ATM and the hotel told me not to go there alone. One time wasn't really a robbery but the police stopped my hotel car coming home from Gala Gay during Carnival and they checked us all for drugs but they took part of the money in my wallet. I said nothing to them and let it go and looking back, I still am not sure if this is a robbery at gunpoint or just a shakedown.1 point -

Hey 12is12.... The chat we started having on that other site we can pick up here.... and hope that others will peek in and add comments! Since I have a home in Bangkok, I don't use hotels any more but if you are only there for 4 nights, I would make a recommendation to you that I would not make to others who are staying longer.... location, location, location.... I myself like the ROSE Hotel.... i find it very well run, quite convenient, and you can stay out in the area late without having to deal with rip-off taxis and tuk-tuks who WILL overcharge you for any trip out of the Silom-Suriwong area. (For longer stays, I generally suggest that visitors avoid hotels in that area and consider a more genuinely "Thai" area, such as the one my apartment is in.... over on Charoen Krung by the Saphan Thaksin BTS station). For your physical "type" I would strongly recommend the ARENA massage parlor http://arenaspa-bangkok.com/ I have never had a bad experience there, and there is a great variety of gentlemen to choose from. I, myself, do not like the bars/gogo bars in Soi Twilight - the drinks are overpriced, the staffpersons are pushy, and I do not enjoy the experience. I prefer to hang out at one of the terrace bars on the Soi and watch the world go by.... and then, perhaps, enter ONE of the bars briefly -- but keep your wits about you - remember these are money-making establishments that employ guys who are out to make money! Having said all this, Bangkok is one of my favorite places in the world. I luckily am close to fluent in the language... but be warned - English is not widely spoken/understood. My #1 suggestion to you - venture away from Silom.... and enjoy the street food.... it is the most delicious in the world! Too much info? Chok dee, krub.....!1 point -

I have similar stories about unscrupulous clients — mostly traveling ones (which is why I prefer not to socialize much with unknown clients when I travel). Last week, at 117, I witnessed a tourist client cheat one garoto out of his money and time, and his only response was basically that these garotos are so poor and desperate that they should be lucky to get whatever we give them. No one deserves to be murdered, but kindness and empathy and not treating these working guys like disposable trash is always a better option.1 point -
Client and male escort murders happened in NYC when I was there. They happen in Thailand. They happen everywhere. It is part of life. It is sad for sure, but this is not uncommon and it is not just Brazil. I have never had an issue with a boy in Brazil in my place and I have had hundreds of overnight guests. Same for Thailand and USA and Canada. But, I had some fucking close calls with nut cases as I tend to be attracted to the bad boy types but so far so good. Point is this is not uncommon and while tragic, it should not stop us from taking guys from Brazil or Thailand or USA or Canada.1 point

I think the bottom line is that we always have to be as careful as possible, but we must be aware that there is always a degree of risk. Shit happens even when we take all due precautions. Day 10: Vamos We went to bed around 3 AM. I set the alarm for 7 AM because I had to catch my flight back to US at noon, and we had to tidy up the AirBNB before we left, as well as getting some farewell Café da Mahna. One of the disadvantages of getting an AirBNB vs a Hotel. While one could leave the AirBNB with a mess, my mom raised me better than that, and we had a lot of beer cans and dirty dishes in the sink that needed cleaning. I am fairly sensitive with keeping my AirBNB reviews positive. At 5 AM, still a little bit tipsy, I got woken up by the doorbell. Took me a while to realize who that could be. It was Diego, trying to get his bag back. I tiptoe towards the door and look through the spyglass in the door. Yup, it was him. I go back to the bedrooms and look into Leo and Alex bedroom: both were sleeping soundly. I go back to bed and get a few more hours of shut eye. I heard the apartment phone ring a few times, but just assumed it was Diego trying to call us from the guard shack downstairs. The alarm rings at 7 AM and I get up and wake Leo and Alex. We all hear the doorbell ringing and I tell them it is Diego. “Serio?” Leo says. I am sure he wants his bag back, I say. Leo was thinking about what to do next. He then tells me to hide in my room. “He’s going to try to appeal to you. I need to get the truth out of him,” he says. I do what I’m told and go in my room to pack. I then go take a shower. I put on clothes and head to the living room. I see Leo texting and Alex doing dishes in the kitchen. I see Diego’s backpack still here, open. “What happened?” I ask. “Diego is taking a shower in the other bathroom,” Leo says. “What did he say?” Leo says that Diego was promised 500 reals to fuck the two clients who were interested in him last night. They bought him some beers and got to know Diego, before asking him to go to a cabina with them. But Diego said he had a problem: he said because of all the alcohol, he couldn’t get it up. The clients offered to buy him some Viagra and commence their tryst at a love motel nearby. Diego’s bill was paid off by the clients and they proceeded to buy the Viagra and then had a romp in the sack. It was 3 AM by the time they finished. He took a cab to Ipanema and slept some hours in the beach. At 5 AM he went up to the apartment to claim his bag. I shrugged my shoulders. Leo said he told Diego that I was very disappointed in him. “But I’m not,” I tell him. “Well, I am,” Leo throws his arms up. I can certainly understand his anger. To tell you the truth, at this point of the vacation I was just glad I did not get robbed or get swindled by anyone. A GP reneging on a promised night was hardly something I would be upset about, especially since there was no money involved. Diego emerges from the bathroom, in a towel. He goes over to shake my hand and I return the gesture. “Desculpe,” he starts, and I feign disappointment in my face. He says he will just change and then would want to talk to me. He disrobes, revealing his perfect body and his cock swinging, as he changes into fresh clothes that were in his bag. He then goes up to me and hugs me. He said he was sorry he left us. He said he had to do it for money. He asked that I see him again next time. I barely hug him back (still feigning), and tell him good luck. I go to my room. I hear Diego and Leo exchange some words before Diego leaves the apartment. All three of us clean the apartment up and finish packing before the AirBNB owners come in to retrieve the keys. We had breakfast next, at a nearby cafe, and made our goodbyes over coffee. Back at the apartment, the owners, who were also gay (and hot) were pretty nice to all of us and we had a nice conversation about our vacation. I will rent from them again. I Uber it to Galeao and check in to my flight. Another vacation done. Time flies. Some post-trip events that happened, proving that a proper Brazilian vacation stretches out long after you’ve left the country: 1. Leo, intrepid friend and bleeding heart, was really affected by Diego’s actions. He extended his Rio trip by another 4 days, about 5 days after I left Brazil. It was his mission to get to the bottom of Diego’s story. He managed to get Diego to come back to Ipanema at Leo and Alex’s new AirBNB, to talk it out. Diego’s story, as with most GPs stuck in this kind of work, is very complicated. 2. Since Diego did not have a phone, Leo had to call his “roommate” to set up the meeting. In turned out that the “roommate” was not really just a roommate. It was Diego’s pimp. Leo had to tread lightly. He pretended to be interested in becoming one of the pimp’s employee’s. Eventually the pimp was amenable enough with Leo, to deliver Diego the message of wanting to meet. Diego was able to visit Leo and Alex in Ipanema before heading over to Pointe 202 for work. 3. Diego’s story was pretty compelling. Without getting into too many details, let’s just say a tragic childhood and crushing poverty got him to Rio in search of a better life. Not being able to find work (and not having a place to stay and food to eat), he was recruited by his current pimp in a party Diego happened to be in. Citing his extreme good looks and bigger than average cock amazing ass, the pimp offered Diego a roof over his head and 3 squares a day, in exchange for access to a customer base, and 50% of Diego’s income. He was stuck in this prison ever since, not being able to leave because he didn’t have a cellphone and he did not have enough money to get an apartment. 4. Leo and Diego eventually were able to form a plan for Diego to leave the pimp. Diego had some money saved, and he could pool it with another fellow GP to get a room farther away (but cheaper) in Barra de Tijuca. But he needed help getting a cellphone. So Leo asked me for 300 reals to buy him a cellphone. I trusted Leo enough to do this. Leo used his own 200 reals and Diego and him went to the Centro area, near the Uruguaiana station, and Leo got Diego a cheap smartphone. 5. At the end of the week, Leo was able to help Diego move from his prison near Copacabana, and move into his new digs in Barra de Tijuca. I got all the scoop and photos and Whatsapp live video of the move (and Uber ride from Copa to Barra de Tijuca). Diego was pretty thankful of Leo and me. It’s amazing what 300 reals can do. 6. Diego, upon hearing that I was visiting Leo in Sao Paulo in 3 weeks, promised Leo and I that he will take the bus to Sao Paulo to stay with me, and us, for free, as thanks for all the help. I accepted the deal, but wasn’t really optimistic about this happening. Did it happen? I guess I need to write that next trip report for everyone here to find out. Sufficed to say, the Diego saga is still ongoing. In other news, of all boys I’ve had programas with this trip, Gabi was the only boy to hit me up for money while I was back in the USA: I forwarded my interactions with Gabi to Leo, and Leo was on his case as well. He found out that Gabi had not one, but TWO gringos who sent him money on a regular basis. Gabi even sent Leo some of his Western Union screenshots, in which Leo promptly send to me. The screenshots contained the person’s full name and address, as well as amounts sent from $200 to $500. I hope you guys trust your own GP’s in not exposing your identities to others. That’s it folks. I still have 3 trips to Brazil this year after this one.1 point -
A lot depends on what you want to spend on hotels. Raya, Tartawan, Crown Plaza all very assessable to Surawong and under $100 a night. Check out Siamroads.com from car and driver.1 point

I saw it. I loved it. I'll buy the ITunes version. Amazing movie. https://www.jpost.com/Diaspora/Bohemian-Rhapsody-glosses-over-Freddie-Mercurys-roots-and-religion-just-like-he-did-571554 That article talks about some things left out of the movie but that is life. I thought they did a very nice job of incorporating things into the movie and discussing his sexuality.1 point

Here is some evidence of the quality of guys who are available in San Jose. This guy is currently advertising on craigslist (and these photos are posted publicly on his ad). He is asking for $100 USD for an hour. More expensive than the prices I mentioned, but then again, he is much more attractive than anyone I met on my previous trip, so I can see how he can command a higher price. I will update my report or write a new one when I have more current information.1 point
