Forgot to say - Tomcal thanks for you highly appropriate words today. Forgive me - time to let loose on Basil Fawlty and the Atl Copa Hotel Good part - the price and being by a metro station the walks are thick so not much noise from the neighbors perhaps some yrs ago it was a great hotel Bad parts - well sort of everything else 1 or 2 elevators never worked at various times during my stay. These elevators close faster than.... (fill in the blank) and multiple times the doors closed before people got on At first I thought that the hotel patrons must be some of the biggest morons in universe rarely having a clue as to whether they were about to go up or down. Of course some simply gave up and were taking the next elevator to stop on their floor. I can't blame anyone for doing this. Some days my dirty sheets and towels were replaced by. You guessed it dirty sheets and towels I have been in the humblest places that have clean sheets. But not here if I got new towels there was no new soap etc every other day I had to get my room key re swiped to work. Of course I had to go down and up in the elevator again to do this it has been a bit chilly here. They have ac but no heaters getting sick from bf every am did not help, but I am the first to admit that we handle new bacteria differently. I think most will be fine. In brief I would rate the Atl Copa just above a backpackers - but not by much if not for a messed up knee I would have left sooner. For those of you who know Rio well if there is an apt service to suggest that would be great. I am certain you have posted this info but I missed it. For my last night I booked another hotel nearby. Mister B and B and airbnb should also be ok but with mobility issues I did not want to take any risks. Please feel free to comment, but I think John Cleese already wrote a comedy series based loosely on this establishment....lol

i think too much energy and time is being put into “where will i be safe and have sex!”. Again i have been coming here 4 or 5 times a year for 17 years and have never had a problem and i would venture to guess i do more guys then the majority going to Brazil do! 1)If you are the nervous nelly type person, have sex at the sauna only! DONE! your fears are solved! 2)If you want to have sex outside the sauna but have concerns...use a sex motel! Done problem solved! 3) Put your big boy pants on, be smart when making decisions (like only withdrawing money during the day from the atms and doing it daily so that on the off chance you do get robbed they are not going to get more then what you spend in a day, that amount could vary widely depending on the person, lol.) about your sex partners, and have fun! Instead of worrying about what possibly could happen think about what will happen at the sauna! I am not just talking about myself but 3 friends who have been going to Brazil for as long as i have and have not had any problems either(florida rob exception! lol)We all operate about the same and they take guys back to their apts almost as often as i do!

Carretao is very good. I do not agree with some of the things the European friends warned you about. Bringing a sauna guy at home will always be 100% safer than bringing any other stranger at your place. The sauna guys must provide an ID in order to work inside. The last thing they want is to get blacklisted because of a customer who reports a bad behavior. I am not saying that it will be 100% safe as the sauna of course. But you can meet the crazy one (who steals or beats you down) even in Europe or in the US. Speaking about drinks cost... I found the saunas to have the same (if not lower) prices than the bars outside. Not sure about what to be warned about. Do not hook up guys from grindr unless you are proficient with Portuguese. Be very careful since there have been many reports of violent catfishes.

Well at least Adam keeps everything under 1 thread. It suits me better than Avalon on M4M who creates a new thread for each topic of interest to him. That is easily 10 new threads per day.

The 2-3 women I might see at the gogo bars will not stop me from going and I'm not about to have hissy fit with the mama-sans about them letting women in. We're just expressing that we don't like it and find it annoying. No big deal. As I think I mentioned before, I won't be returning to Jupiter due to the combination of the higher ratio of woman there and the higher ratio of straight boys working. Will they miss me?
