Those who read this forum regularly know that I have a 2nd home in Merida Yucatan, Mexico. I have been asked many times why Merida? what's the gay life like there? Costs to live there? etc? I, like many people had never heard of Merida(it is 90 miles west of Cancun). Florida Rob on this site is a good friend of mine for close to 15 years and he had moved there and opened a restaurant and told me I should visit him. His stories about how all the guys in Merida "are gay or if they aren't they want to be" lol, sounded so over the top that I wanted to go and find out. Merida is the capital of the state of Yucatan and has a population of over !,000,000 It is considered the safest city in Mexico as it is not a route for drugs to the U.S. Unlike Cancun, there has been no killings, robberies assaults of Americans/Canadians. The city has a expat community of approximately 5,000+ Americans and even greater number of Canadians! Canadians seem to have discovered Merida years ago as a 6 month winter get away that was very inexpensive. It is also the number one city for Medical tourism in Mexico. Merida has a International airport(MID) and has direct service from Houston on United, Miami on American and Atlanta on Delta. It is about a 1-1/2 hr flight from either Houston or Miami. Airfare from SoCal to Merida is usually just under $400.r/t The Centro part of Merida has the Historic Homes that are over 100 years to 200 years old. This is the area where most of the foreigners have bought homes as the younger Mexicans would rather move to the new suburbs rather then in the town center where their grandparents lived. Merida is about 20 miles from the beach area which really doesn't have any major hotels...Yet. but a 4 mile long pier was built to accommodate cruise ships. you can still buy individual private homes on the beach for $300,000. The city is dominated by one of the oldest churches in the Americas, built in the 1500's the park in front of the Cathedral is where all the activities take place every night in Merida, with music, dances, food fairs, and a number of hustlers always there. the photo of the guy is one of the strippers at one of the four gay bars, who often swings by in the late afternoon on his way to work to ask if I want to do anything. if I say no not today he goes "ok will check with you tomorrow". He is tall compared to most as he is 6'1", he is from a village about a 100 miles away.

A goodly number of years ago, there was talk by Oz and Tampa Yankee of making me some kind of mod or admin or Lord High Executioner or some such. My experiences over the past 17 years has been very good! 90% of the guys that come back to the Apt are from the saunas. I have also had guys from Grinder, never a problem. This last trip i had a bartender overnight after his shift ended at 3:00am. One thing i do is if i am having a first time visitor i tell them we have to be quiet as my friend is asleep in the 2nd bedroom even thou we are the only two there. Heartbreaking. Just absolutely heartbreaking. Sure, Brazil may have some of the most beautiful men on the planet, but that doesn't overshadow some of the horrifying problems that seem to exist there. How can you justify not funding any sort of protection for priceless cultural treasures like those? I just hope that at least some of the items survived the fire.

The subway runs to the airport now, as has been posted on the board previously. There are routes, "CONNECT", directly to and from Bras within certain time frames, connecting automatically between Sapphire (line 12) and Jade (line 13). The inauguration of "AIRPORT EXPRESS", between Luz and Guarulhos has been delayed but should be running consistently this month. It will not stop at stations on the way. It will cost 8 reais as opposed to the usual 4. I am not certain if seniors ride for free on this express run. It will run on a limited fixed schedule, only 4 times each way. At the airport, one must get to a shuttle bus running between the station and terminals.

I guarantee that you will have more fun (Sexually) in Brasil. The exchange rate is now 4-1, which means a round of sex , REALLY good sex will cost you about 25usd. Plus hotel and apt rates have dropped quite a bit. I think the gay scene is diminished in all areas. However, for Thailand, there are tons of gogo bars and tons of boys. The fun is still there but not what it was 10 years ago. The Internet has changed every scene permanently.

This is my 16th year of high school teaching in the USA, and for the first time I was assigned a classroom with a closet. It is a medium size walking closet with huge wooden shelves, a window, and light but no power socket. I am thrilled at having my classroom clean of cluster by storing my resources in this extra room. And I think it is going to become the stage for many of my masturbatory fantasies. There are other two classrooms in my hallway, all for English Learner students (EL), hosting five teachers. One of the female teachers is new, I like and love all the others, there is only one male, Mr. M. They all are very young, I could be their dad. Mr. M is in his second year as a teacher. He started last year in a program called Urban Teachers, where you are pair up for one year with a mentor veteran, and then given your own classroom. This school year he will be the Math instructor for EL students. Last year I did not really have the chance to talk to him, but I felt attracted since the beginning. He may be 24 or 25 years old, White, tall, thin. I have never seen him with a tight shirt, so I do not know how sharp his body is, but he seems to be at least average. His movements remind me of basketball players, with long arms and legs that always look clumsy in a world designed for shorter people. He is very sweet, and shy, his smooth White skin gets easily red when he rushes, he is passionate about teaching and love the students. He is not the guy I would pick if I am just looking at his picture, but I find him charming face to face. My classroom had been assigned to him this year, after being promised to me by the end of last school year. I am a nice person when I like you, but I want what I want. I used my influence (my high scores are critical for the performance evaluation of the school) to get the situation corrected and to get back what I had been promised. I was afraid this could have affected negatively our relationship, but fortunately I was wrong. Today, he even came into my closet. I am by myself in this huge classroom, and 5 EL teachers have to share two, one small and one classroom similar to mine. While they were working next door, I offered them space in my classroom for one of their desks. I love these young guys, they all got as excited and happy as puppies with a new toy. When I told them that we could also share the closet, and we could hide a coffee maker there (it is illegal to have appliances in he classroom) if we had a power socket, Mr. M jumped out of his chair to solve the issue. He came into my closet and started to look for a socket, no matter how much I insisted that I was confident there was none. He started climbing the shelves. He was wearing very tight jeans, I could not see his bulge but I did enjoy his butts. He climbed up and down like three times, with me in perfect position to kiss his ass standing up. I was hoping he would need my physical support to keep his balance, and I offer him to grab his legs, but he said he was a climber and it was easy for him. I do not know whether or not he knows I am gay. I am quite open about it, you cannot not know it if we work closely, but he is a new addition to the team and I am not sure if my fatness is vox populi. I am always surprised at how often people think I am straight. I think he awakes my maternal instincts. I imagine him crying, coming to my arms looking for comfort and safety, taking me to the closet and kissing me with desperation. I think I am horny.

There are still amazing places in Thailand and much more to do than ever but the scene is evolving. Online meets are gaining steam. Still many boys in Gogo bars and many in massage parlors but they have never been tons of twinks in either in Bangkok. I like twinks. Pattaya is better for that. But, still, as the bars change, others open up that fill the void. I have yet to find anywhere on earth you can go and find 500 guys working in different bars right next to each other.

I’m mixed on this. I have no problems with Bangkok. I love it and have lots of fun. You mention reading all the negativity. That’s the people posting. Many of forum members I know from here and Gaythailand have stopped posting because as soon as we say how much fun we are having, posters come on and post all their negatives. . I always ask these people if everything is that bad why do you keep going. For me it’s still a big bargain. Every night is different. Right now is the middle of the low season. It’s not going to be wall to wall boys or customers. I was talking to a friend tonight that stopped by Screwboys. Said it was full so he left and stopped in at Maxis. 3/4 full. So I’ll only speak for myself. I see very little wrong and will continue to spend my 6 months a year there having a great time.
