  1. I personally haven’t had that experience there. As I mentioned before, I have only witnessed one guy at Lagoa that I would categorize physically as “AAA” (stellar in looks and body) who remained fully clothed and was surrounded / guarded by a client or clients, and made it clear through non-verbal cues that he was off-limits. But there were several others there that I’d qualify as “AAA” that were more available, so it didn’t make any difference to me. Some guys and girls (working or not) just don’t want the one-offs, and will only flip their switch for someone who can provide for them in sufficient quantity on a regular basis. I refer to this phenomenon as the “I’m not THAT type of ho” mentality: “I’m not a hooker or a street walker, I’m a call girl, or a kept woman.” My only suggestion for a solution to this “problem” you’re seem to be having is to re-invent yourself somehow as a sugar daddy at Lagoa. Of course, the main ingredient needed to be a sugar daddy Is plenty of sugar.

  2. Be surprised. I have NEVER rented a car outside of the USA or Canada. I have been to 80 countries so I am not a novice. I found the information valuable. You are smarter than me so you didn't. But, I found it interesting, relevant and something that made me consider doing it the next time I visit Brazil. In other words, it made me think.

  3. I used to be that way. My friends said that I don't suffer fools lightly. But as I grew older I found that I tolerated more meaningless chatter as a matter of course. However, I do not go out of my way to expose myself to such. Hanger talk aka BS is a way of life for pilots and I suppose I have adopted the idea that if they listen to mine I will listen to theirs. OTOH I don't hang out with Wall street brokers or any others who are engaging in their industry BS. Patience is a virtue but being over virtuous might be a sin of pride. Best regards, RA1

    Inhotim anyone?

This place was featured in Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown episode of Belo Horizonte. Such a fantastic episode that I think is streaming on Netflix. Needless to say BH is on my list when I finally get down there this winter.

  5. Since you care only about the garotos experience, why are you spending so much time acting like a literary critic. Move on already! he s one of the mostly highly regarded members here, his threads are all successful... so maybe he s being smart by ignoring your (or anybody else) inputs. you re about to make this thread about his writing style.

  6. I doubt many of the garotos are rocket scientists, doctors, lawyers, or engineers. Brazil actually does have a middle class. Most garotos never went to college or have degrees in “nutrition” or “physical education” Cuba is the only country I think where what you said above applies (although less now than during, say the 90s)

    Hot Locker Room Sex

First, congratulations on the "working out." I know from personal experience the profoundly fruitful effect of exercise on the body after weight loss. The positive effects of exercise can't be talked about enough. Thank you for sharing your experience with hot locker room sex. Brought up many fond memories of my own experiences. I've been a gym member for most of my adult years. When I lived a life on-the-road in my early career, I never stayed at a hotel that didn't have some type of gym facility or wasn't affiliated with a great one nearby. Having no desire to compete, if I had the time to share all of my sexual antics in a gym, I could probably write a book. I may do it one day and call it, "SEXCAPADES with RH." Some of the hottest sex I've had were chance encounters that I could never have anticipated. When they happen, I always ask myself, "Am I living in a porn movie?" My most recent encounter was with the D.J. Augustin type. I mentioned it in some thread about pilot photography, and that went over well. Oz, it's a good thing your username isn't RH. The trolls would be going ape-shit, calling you all kinds of names. I have a feeling I'll see the D.J. type again. I'll report back if I do and if something happens again. The most disturbing yet exhilarating experience I've ever had involved a visit to a new doctor. The health care industry in NYC is full of gay men, and what fun it can be when your gay PCP recommends you to a gay specialist, and that specialist is turned on by the sight of you naked. When I have time, I'll come back and write more. Although, my sex-with-a-doctor story doesn't involve any Asian men. I hope that doesn't cause a need for a "split" thread. Does it help that one of my doctors happens to be Asian? He's not part of this story, but maybe the one degree of separation will help avoid a "split."

    NYC Meet-UP

Some of you may know that when I posted over at Daddy's, I tried to arrange one of those meat-n-greets for NY members, like the one they have in Palm Springs ? Well, it was a bomb and NEVER happened... So now, a warm wind just blew in and told me there actually was a pop-up meeting Saturday night at The Eagle, one of the hot city leather bars. The board members were given a FEW hours notice of the event, announced the SAME day.... And the attendance: Total 3, 2 of which were already at the bar for a Pride Week event... The board is considering it a success (just like ALL Trumps events) , and claiming "that's how you put together an event"... Guess it was a message to ME ? Glad the 3-some had a blast. Kudos to the event planner...

    Hot Locker Room Sex

If you read my weight loss surgery thread, you know I am working out a bit. Recently, I met this one guy in my gym who is hot and I always smile at him. He is married and his wife is in and out with him all the time. We never talk. But, last week I was in the shower when he came into the shower as well and asked if he could rinse off. I was shocked but said OK. (only one shower in my condo gym). He started washing his body and kept bumping into me. Not a hard thing to do in a small shower. But, he then started jerking off. I was fascinated and just watched. He then thought I was a bottom and his hard dick rubbed against my ass. As an adamant top, I kind of nudged his cock toward my ass. He was more than happy to enter and ended up fucking in the shower. I was happy but sore. Three times I have seen him since and no further instance until today when he knocked at my door. I invited him in and we had some bedroom sex. He likes fucking and getting fucked. He likes oral and eating ass. But, he is not into kissing at all which is a big turn off. However, free sex is free sex. Thailand is fun and sexuality is not the same as America.

  21. I think people just feel they ARE participating when they post any comment, pro or con. I equate it to as if I was having an in person conversation, and the person i was speaking with said "I love those older muscle dudes"... I wouldnt just sit there and not say anything. I would either say "So do I" OR "they are so not my type".... So that same civil discourse is translated , at least by me, to a message board, and I will post my feelings, positive or negative if I feel strongly enough about a topic, comment or pic. II thought that was the purpose of these public boards, to share opinions?...Nothing in the rules about those opinions always staying positive and agreeable. But I suppose it really just depends on the type of person you are ? I am here to participate. . .

  22. It's possible that you are #3. But lack of patience is not a curse, it's who you are, and you might have to make a few adjustments and bite your tongue every now and again. 3. If you are not having such reaction, can I learn to become more like you? Or am I a a lost cause that was borne with no patience for my fellow humans, and that is my curse? I have more patience, but then again, I have the few minutes to spend listening, and I think it's a bit arrogant to assume everything they are going to say is trite or trivial or obvious. I was also raised with a social etiquette that would probably prevent me from being unnecessarily rude or inconsiderate to someone I was involved in a conversation with. As a quick example, I was listening to a neighbor the other day, who is an ex-IRS agent, explain to me how our accountant was reconciling the books. There have been some issues, which I was fully aware, so I thoroughly understood the basis for the conversation, but the issues had all been resolved. She was slow, methodical, and perhaps unnecessarily tedious in her explanation to me, but I was patient, and allowed her the time. Then quite unexpectedly, on a side note, she mentioned a new Florida Statute which became law in July. I had read about it, but didn't realize it was applicable to our situation. It will mean making some changes that ultimately will be for the better. You never know what kind of information someone might give you. Everyone has a story to tell, and sometimes those stories are interesting, and other times...well, not so much.

  23. I have always felt the way my mom taught me is best 99 percent of the time and that is, if you don't have something good to say, don't say anything at all. I learned the hard ways years back. I have never understood the need for anyone on a message board to be critical of another poster, post or thread. I like Suckrates photos, for the most part, but the ones that he posts that are all the big older muscle guys, do nothing for me. So, I look and I go on to the next thing. I do not feel the need to say, "ooh, that is not sexy" or anything else. I did not think your post that I know you are referring to was horrible. But, you said details were boring. That was for you. Not for me as it was useful information to me. But, you could have said it in a much kinder way. IMHO.

    Brazil Questions

My friends and I go to Rio at least annually and sometimes more often. On at least half of those trips we have stayed in apartments, the other half at hotels. While we have never rented apartments through AirBnB, we've located flats more commonly through the map feature on sites like TripAdvisor, zooming in on particular areas of neighborhoods where we like to stay. One caveat is that, in most of the apartments we have rented, we have had to sign extensive rental agreements that specified that we were not permitted to bring "guests" back to the apartment. The penalty for violating this provision was immediate eviction, so we have never attempted to test the enforcement of that restriction. Although I generally prefer to keep my encounters with garotos confined to the saunas, which I consider safer, on those visits when we have rented apartments, my more adventurous travel companions desiring to bring a garoto back from the saunas have either (a) rented inexpensive hotel rooms for a night in the vicinity of our apartment or (b) used nearby love motels in the Zona Sul, e.g., Hotel Vanity in Copacabana. One other thing to remember: although porteiros (the guys who sit just inside the entrance to an apartment building) are present in most condo buildings, they are NOT always there 24/7. And these guys are NOT really security guards. One apartment I stayed at recently had no porteiro coverage during the night shift or on Sundays, so there would potentially be some safety risk in those edifícios. We have found that hotels have not objected to having guests, as long as you are upfront with them and pay the incrementally higher two-person rate, as opposed to trying to sneak a trick up the elevator. Additionally, being transparent with the hotel front desk about your guest's presence is good from a safety standpoint, as they will ask to see and photocopy his RG (Brazilian ID card). TL;DR: I vote with the majority in this thread and recommend that you stay in a hotel, at least for your first trip, and probably for several subsequent visits to Brazil.

    1 point
  31. True. But once in a while you will meet one who defies our stereotypes. I can't forget a tall, handsome garoto de programa who shuttled back and forth between 117 in RJ and Lagoa in SP and who friends and I "met" in both cities on different trips. Reason: his parents lived in one city and he was attending a faculdade de direito (law school) in the other city. So he was able to earn some spending money wherever he happened to be!

    Inhotim anyone?

Inhotim is an amazing place...a fantasy park for lovers of the arts. My friends and I first read about it in an assignment for our Portuguese class in California. We always visit at least one new city or locale in Brazil on our annual trips there so we grafted a visit to Inhotim on our second trip to the metropolis of Belo Horizonte and the state of Minas Gerais. And, BTW, there is at least one sauna com garotos de programa in Belo Horizonte that has been reviewed elsewhere in this blog. When we arrived at Inhotim, we quickly discovered that the park is so huge we were only able to see a small fraction of the art installations at Inhotim on our day trip from B.H. A few of our images of the park are attached. By the way, Inhotim has a wonderful restaurant that opens to gardens, sculptures, and a stream. Highly recommended for lunch! My travel buddies and I would be interested in returning to Inhotim to see more of this incredible park but, in my mind, this investigative report linking the park's founder with corruption and environmental pollution scandals places the future of Inhotim in doubt.

  33. I don’t read the other site, so I could not possibly know that he is unmovable, unswayable, unchangeable in that way. Now I know. So, thanks. By the way, you do realise, your description of his lack of ability to change based on feedback from others is not a compliment, right?
    1 point
  34. You can give all the constructive criticism you want hoping he won’t bore you, But he is in no way going to change his style of writing. He has written several stories of trips to SE Asia for another Site. He has this past year started traveling to Central and South America and was asked if he would do some write ups of his experiences here. This is his style and it’s not going to change.
    1 point
  35. Erm, at the risk of creating more anomosity, the problem I have with the format is not so much with the OP's descriptives. But he has elected day-by-accounts installations that take time to assemble, partly due to detail inclusion. It worked better earlier in the first trip due to some suspense that emerged. The writing style is fun but I would be more riveted and absorb the tone better if it were one continuous post without an extensive array of questions and comments in between. If the OP specifically wants his intermissions filled with sponsor announcements, I am OK with that, but I would then hope to know when the oeuvre is complete and bingeable. This is not Dynasty circa 1981 at the local gay watering hole. Or Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan quadrilogy. One "ask" that I would put forward is that commentators spend more time describing erotic experiences in keeping with the Board's mandate. This in place of jumping all over somebody else's basically inocuous remark. The OP has also specifically asked for feedback about whether to continue, having previously received favourable responses earlier in the year. There is an emoji 'reaction' procedure in place. To my way of thinking, if you ask "please sir, would you like some more?", then you are potentially inviting critique in either direction. Numazu is a mature savvy adult who has game, and in every other respect does not seem to require an explicit, identifiable fan base, right? (Right?). In this case, no need to paternalize him by taking up a cause he himself has not necessarily initiated. He has the prerogative, like anyone else, to tell our dear tart (who happened this one time to go a little unsavoury yet not treacle ... and yes do tell the calorie counter results) or others to 'piss off'. And now we are really genuinely into topic-splitting territory.

One thing is the guys who are sitting with the regulars, usually those “cliques” don’t get to the sauna until around 8:00 before the shows start at 9:00ish. My anti-stickyfinger playbook in accommodations is to have the place such a hot mess with my crap scattered around that they would not know where to begin, but then I need to have coded notes to myself about where key belongings are.
