is this an attack or a negative comment....just so I'm clear on what is what (or is it which is which?)4 points -
I feel people should be welcomed to comment anyway they see fit, and not think they have to sanitize their comments to appease the crowd. Of course civility is always encouraged, but a negative comment should not be interpretted as an attack. It's merely a difference of opinion, and this is the part where things go awry. A poster will feel attacked, and attack back, and hence the feud ensues. As long as a comment is CIVIL, it should be received as such, even if its message is negative. If that's how the poster feels, that's how he feels. If his posts are troublesome to you, use your handy IGNORE button, and you wont have to deal with it. Everyones opinion is important, not just the ones that AGREE with you !4 points

The LAMD or the Latin America Men and Destinations forum has always been a mainstay of the Boytoy family. When things got slow in other forums (fora?) we could count on interesting and friendly conversation to be had here. And it was ongoing, rarely pausing for distractions. But look lately and you might see "last post 6 hours ago" or even worse. I submit that it isn't because Latin America has suddenly become less interesting. Rather, I think our discussions have become less friendly. A trip report may be great reading for some, but others have to criticize the way a fellow poster enjoyed his vacation. Constructive criticism, new ideas, ways to enhance a vacation have always been welcome. But once too many it has become criticism that becomes personal. And it isn't just trip reports, it can even be because someone doesn't like the way another person posts, or hijacks a thread, or otherwise shows a lack of respect. Well, you might say, Lucky is no angel on any of this. I could differ all I want but if you really believe that it still becomes incumbent on me to monitor my posts so that they are friendly and informative. We have a great forum here. I want to be a part of it and I want the discussion to continue. A friendly discussion, yeah, that sounds right...3 points

Its neither. It a disagreement. I simply dont disagree with Luckys theory, which is clearly a contradiction. One one hand he started the thread to encourage participation, but ONLY wants people who agree with a subject to post. Doesnt that LIMIT participation ? I guess he was so focused, he didnt think there could be another side to his proposal , which has the opposite effect to what he intended. ?3 points -
Lucky, you clearly dont understand the point, and are trying to agitate the members.. Noone is speaking of attacks. I am speaking of a negative comment, which EVERY member has a right to make. What kind of bullshit site would this be if everyone just agreed with everyone. We are not Steppford wives... There is a clear distinction between a disagreement and an attack, and if a member cant take a negative comment and interprets it as an attack against him....he doesnt belong on ANY public site. You are clearly making this into something its not. And a disagreement or negative comment should never result in a fight, unless people like YOU encourage it ! My suggestion to YOU Lucky: if you want a site where you can comment and have no negative pushback, start your own blog and dont allow any outside commentary... That way you can spout all the bullshit you want and be hollier than thou.3 points

Does everyone feel comfortable posting when they can expect replies from guys exercising their right to comment as they see fit? Do posters, in order to post, have to set themselves up for attack because some posters feel attacking others is appropriate comment? Not everyone is as thick-skinned as Suckrates and may not enjoy being in the middle of a bitch fight. So, allowing that comment is up to the the individual, if it results in a dead forum it's hardly appropriate.2 points

The Sao Paulo diaries

This morning a garoto from Rio sends me a pic of himself with the new girl he is dating, with a question: do you think she is pretty? I tell him the obvious. She is gorgeous, certainly an upgrade from his now-ex, who I had only seen once in a video where she was giving him a sloppy blowjob. This new one might even be wife material. The garoto seems quite pleased at my approval. What happened to your other girlfriend? I caught her cheating on me with a guy that works at the butcher shop. Que pena..(what a pity) Can I pretend to understand a garoto’s definition of “cheating”? No, none of it makes sense. But that is what makes Brazil so fascinating.. “Saudade de você, gostaria que fossemos ficar em seu hotel juntos, bebendo, beijando e fazendo sexo.” (I miss you, I wish we were in your hotel together drinking, kissing, and having sex). I find myself wondering if his new girl knows about his extra-curricular activities. Would she mind sharing her man’s cock with me? What about his ass - or is that pushing it? There are no obvious answers to these questions. Brazil seems to operate on a different planet in regards to cultural, social and sexual norms. It’s not easy being back in the US after spending several months in Brazil. I guess you could say it’s kind of a reverse culture shock. It’s a little depressing, to be quite honest. After the highs of being in Brazil, the US feels so boring..2 points -

Personally, I could have lived without the speech from Reverend Michael Bruce Curry, personally invited by Meghan....... whose tone and over the top delivery was more suited to a Baptist Bar-B-Q, after a few too many 40's..... These are Royals, reverend, tone it down !1 point

Just relax and count down the days. You wont be a veteran until you have several Bans under your belt. Many did not like me, and most didnt even know me. They just jumped on the ban wagon for those that were vocal about it, which is basically how that site operates. They tend to follow the leader. I was very vocal and outspoken, and forced them to confront their bullshit... When you rock a boat, you dont last long.... But that allowed me to voluntarily walk away from that site after many, many years, and be totally comfortable with it. I cant exist on a site that does not encourage or Allow you to be yourself.1 point

I agree. I cannot wait to contribute more to this forum. On June 19th I am departing to Argentina. The beginning of my trip will be in an inner country, conservative province (state) capital, and I do not expect much interesting in the first weeks. But on July 13th I am arriving to Buenos Aires and planning to have fun. I hope to add to the common knowledge with a few informative posts.1 point -
not sure what’s stuck up your ass tonight but you are being a jerk! the primary purpose of this board is to talk about Gay Sex south of the border! unless i missed the announcement by Oz that you are now the moderator?! and everyone who has visited Brazil for longer then a hour knows that “gozar means to “Cum”! no one has to google it except you evidently! We get it You think you are a hot Black escort from Atlanta that can get all the free sex he wants in Brazil! great! Again as OZ has said innumerable times, if you don’t like a post MOVE ON! Don’t rain on all of us less fortunate then you! your posts the last few days have been a combo of Dismissive/contrary/demeaning/argumentative and rude! try being a little helpful and positive! I have been repeating answers to posters for years! big deal! if your time is so precious why waste it here? because IMHO you are helping no one!1 point

Thanks for sharing your opinion about the two cities. It seems Rio has caught you in its snare. I travel often to many parts of the world. I can say, without any doubt, that there is no other place in the world like Brazil where our kind can be ourselves and enjoy life as we never imagined possible. Over my many years of making bi-monthly trips to Brazil, I have seen changes for the good and changes for the bad. The bad had to do with the Brazilian economy which is slowly trying to recover. I have seen many saunas come and go. There was a time when Rio had five very popular saunas that were consistently busy and filled with handsome garotos. Then there was the notorious and wonderful Corujinha's in Rio that was something out of a fantasy book, but it was real - it is no more. Sao Paulo also had five good saunas but two were the busiest (Fragata and Lagoa). This year I decided to stop visiting Fragata because it is too often disappointing and a waste of time and effort to go there. Where am I going with all this history and nostalgia? Those who enjoy Brazil should continue to do so. There could be a day when the good places are no more. As I said, I have seen many saunas in Brazil close. Rio still has 117 and Sao Paulo has Lagoa. Even though 202 in Rio is popular at the present time, for several years, 202 was barely staying in business. If it were not for Junior's friend, the place would have closed. I return to Brazil this weekend for my bi-monthly trip there. I want to thank you for your frequent updates about some of the places I visit in Sao Paulo and Rio. It is good to know that nothing negative has happened to them.1 point
