Hello again...after my November trip to Rio (which is the fourth and last for this year) I can tell you my opinion about the best and worst days to go to saunas in Rio. MM is not included in the following table due to the lack of personal experience since the few times i've been there, i really didn't like the place. As you can see I've found a better selection of guys on Saturdays on 202, in the last times since Pointe has recovered from its crisis. To prepare the table i've only taken in consideration the variety of garotos present each day (sauna facilities and special days are not taken into account even if reported for convenience). The table is inevitably affected by my personal tastes. I do not like next-door type guys. While 117 is always pretty consistent (apart from wednesdays), incredibly I have made some of the best discoveries in Rio in 202 during saturdays (117 is still good). And while there's no bad day at 202 apart from Thursday, I can tell you that even if good, Fridays and Sundays are way better at 117.

Went tonight to Meio Mundo. OMG. The owner of the building rua Teofilo Otoni tried to increase significantly the rent so MM decided to stop renting. They are now on the building opening on Rua Primeiro de Marzo. The "main" room and bar is now where there was a tv in front of customers lockers which are still at same place but shared with the boys lockerroom. The room le packed with 6 or 7 tables and a few chairs. Even on a monday night there were just a few boys (15 ?) and a few customers (15 ?). You can still meet and fuck some big dicked favela boys in the filthy rooms upstair. No sauna of course now. I went with Eduardo who is now 36 with a beer belly but a great face and a great smile. Friendly as usual. We were 2 and with entrance and drinks including drinks for the boys the grand total was 132 $R. Quite cheap. I never liked this place but at least the main room was décent and there was a large offering of boys on a monday nite. I will not go back to this place. They say they are going to built a new sauna and improve the place. I will wait until some visitors of this forum confirm it is true and that boys are back. Since 202 is rather weak, the only and by far Best choice is 117. I was there friday saturday and sunday. There was always a wide choice if boys (mostly muscular with only a few twinks). The olace is clean. The masseur Bernardo gives you a non sexual massage whih is very relaxing. Enjoy !

I spent about 8 days in Monterrey Mexico. As Monterrey is a one of the wealthiest cities per capita in Mexico I was not sure what to expect. The experience there left me very satisfied and I now believe that Monterrey, Mexico is definitely an underrated weekend getaway. A contact from Manhunt actually came to pick me up from the airport, which is not something I would ever recommend but we had been messaging each other for nearly a month and I was fairly confidant that this upper middle class Mexican guy would not kidnap me We went to my Air B&B which was located in the Centro section of the city near the Santa Lucia waterway. He wanted to be my first in Monterrey and he was very hungry. Monterrey is in Mexico so I did not have high expectations when it came to the gym build that I prefer. In fact, I was so apprehensive that I actually arranged a guy to come up form CDMX to accompany me. This turned out to be an unnecessary expense still, I did appreciate the company and the flexibility of having sex on demand. There are a plethora of saunas to try as well as the money boys on the websites. If desired I would never have to leave the apartment, I could just contact guys online and have them come over for between 500-1000 Pesos. As I spent most of my days going to museums and eating in restaurants with my companion I only investigated these options for reporting purposes. If you are looking for avilable gym bodied guys to take home later these are the 2 clubs that I would recommend that you visit. 1. La Diosa: basically a hustler bar with strippers. The show started at around 11:30 and the guys were very well built. It is a typical stripper bar where you buy drinks for the time you spend with the guys. There is also a back room or private dances on site if desired. Your best bet would be to go and get the guy's number so that you could arrange a meeting later. 2. La Colorina: a dance club with strippers. The show starts late here typically around 1am. There are a lot of shirtless guys just hanging around. You are free to invite them to your table for a drink and exchange numbers for an encounter later. Unlike La Diosa most of these guys will just wallflower most of the night unless you call them over. I was approached twice by decent looking guys here unfortunately, they just were not the type of guys I flew to Mexico to meet. If you are an app user you will never want for companionship just be prepared that many guys are using YouCam and other photo editing apps to enhance their appearance. There was another bar with strippers that I wanted to visit called Mango's unfortunately, they seemed more geared towards females. My final judgement is that Monterrey is an excellent weekend getaway for food and fun. I had a great time there and I did not spend a lot of money. Here's the Cliff Notes: TIRR Memorial Hermann, originally the Texas Institute for Rehabilitation and Research, was established 60 years ago, at the height of the polio epidemic, to help the disabled learn to walk again. By the 1980s, the hospital had become a leader in rehabilitating people who, thanks to advances in trauma medicine, had survived spinal cord and brain injuries. In 2011, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords checked in, three weeks after being shot in the head in Arizona. Year after year, TIRR has ranked among the top rehab hospitals in the country, drawing patients from around the world. Far less attention, though, has been paid to a small unit on the hospital’s sixth floor. That’s not surprising, perhaps, given the low-key demeanor of Dr. Sunil Kothari, who established TIRR’s disorders-of-consciousness program three years ago. Today, it’s one of only a half-dozen such programs in the country and possibly the busiest, treating more than 50 severely brain-injured patients every year. At TIRR, he estimates nine out of 10 patients who come to him with a vegetative label turn out to be at least minimally conscious, which means they display subtle but inconsistent signs of awareness. Some are fully conscious but too cognitively damaged to express it. A small number are suffering from a condition known as locked-in syndrome, an extreme form of paralysis that prevents fully aware people from doing anything other than blinking.

Today I had a slow day, I only visited the beach in Ipanema. I went to Pointe 202 this evening after not having visited this place in many years. There were many people. I stayed for a couple of hours but did not see anyone I'd like to take to the cabin. I still prefer 117.

I highlighted your mistake. That is, if you managed to diss every restaurant in Largo de Guimaraes! I have friends who live in the neighborhood and am able to go out for lunch there several times a month. When not dining in their homes I appreciate the excellent dining experience to be found there. As confirmed by local and international restaurant reviews. Most of these restaurants frequented by locals -as you may have discovered elsewhere in your travels - do not necessarily offer sweeping views to be considered the best overall dining experiences. Like in Europe where the hot spots are often considered 'hole in the walls.' Although that description is not apt for Largo de Guimaraes and other areas, offering incredible local cuisine, and for great value. Often they have outdoor terraces, for an even more pleasant dining experience but you have to venture inside and then out again, to discover that. Note though that I didn't highlight your restaurant choice as a mistake! Aprazivel is great for a first-time visitor to soak up the atmosphere, or for locals over drinks for a commemoration of some sort. Have been there a couple times this year, and many times over the years for friends visiting from overseas. It offers fine food, as you noted, but at high prices. Along with that panoramic view. I feel bad for the owners as their fixed costs must be very high and they just recently actually invested in their business, installing a kick-ass glass elevator (how many of those has anyone found in Brazil?!) which now enables handicapped and older folks access, and the rest of us to avoid the many steps there after a few too many drinks! Anyway, just wanted to provide a local perspective. Good to see that you are making the most of your visit . You are exploring and getting around far more than most here do!

I have been here for a short enough time that I would find it difficult to even begin to describe the challenging stunning bitch that is this city, but a long enough time to be of the view that your well intentioned précis was overgeneralized. I think I would leave it to the likes of Jane Jacobs, Richard Florida, etc. It would be interesting to know what you 'took in' outside of the corridors of "pau", though. Crowd is on the mature side but occasionally there are 1 or 2 younger guys. No GPs. Place a bit run down on ground floor (entrance and wet area) but slightly better upstairs (rooms). Entrance fee is R50 I think.

Just two small comments: 1. You don't have to be shirtless at 117. So if you prefer the non-smoking area but feel it's too cold there, you can just put on your shirt. 2. They play straight porns at 117 because a lot of the GPs are straight. In addition, I believe, in Brazil, most gays feel better pretending to be heterosexul macho men, so they usually clam to be top only.

My advice is there is never a good reason to arrive later! :-). I mean are there naked guys running around your hotel room? Because if there isn’t then you should be at the sauna where there will be! Getting there early or first means you get first pick! Getting there later means as you are signing in at the front desk someone is taking the guy you think is really hot up to room while you are getting your key for the locker! I have seen this happen a 100 times and listened to the guy complain the rest of the evening! The sauna at 4:30 is still more interesting then your hotel room with you alone in it!
