RIP Lurkerspeaks

Lurker was truely a nice guy! He accepted his “flaws” with a self deprication but did not let them stop him from enjoying life! I remember one night in Rio a couple years ago there were 6 of us in a private room at a sushi restaurant, in the course of the evening a minor argument broke out between 2 good friends, while it was going on Lurker gave his CC to the waiter and paid for everyone’s dinner! No one saw him do it and everyone there made much more then he did! He was unselfish, funny and a really good guy and that’s how I will remember him!2 points -

A gay couple from San Diego was arrested when leaving the country after posting pictures of themselves at the Temple of Dawn on Instagram. The pictures showed them baring their butts in the sacred place: http://sdgln.com/news/2017/11/28/local-married-gay-couple-arrested-bangkok-exposing-buttocks-temple1 point

My poor attempt to show Lurker some respect failed. I waited eleven days after Lurker's death before I wrote my first post on this thread, those honest but insensitive words. I saw Lucky's Facebook link before it was deleted. I learned Lurker's Facebook name, and I saw his Facebook photos. Even so, I waited to post. As I mentioned earlier, I discussed this event with other friends and family members. It took some time to gather my thoughts and impressions before I was ready to post. In a very personal way, I could relate to this story on several levels. I often view my online personality as my alter-ego. I say things online that I would never say in public or to a person's face. Online honesty is very much a therapy for me. Since most of my life is doing work that I love, I can't afford to speak my mind and say whatever I'm feeling in front of just anyone. In a professional business, a delicate balance must always be nurtured and maintained. My brain forgets that members associate with one another off-board. Some members here are true friends. I failed to consider that, and I apologize. I honestly got that impression of him. I have loved several "flawed" guys in my life. When you love someone, you love him with all his flaws, no matter how difficult that can be. I wrote to Oz privately. I don't need to have my post taken down, but I would love the edit time changed for the future, if that's possible.1 point -

RockHard, I am impressed with your response to my post. Very classy, and not something an "old queen" would write, so I withdraw that remark! I think we agree that criticism should be said when the person is alive, or at least not in their memorial thread. Perhaps OZ will take the post down, as well as posts like mine responding to it.1 point

So you think that sharing stories is okay in a thread like this. Well, I do too. But it's not the time for you to get up on your soapbox and post things like this: ROCKHarD:: I have been very frank in the past about my thoughts on obesity. Even though I have a few XXL friends and family members I love, I can't imagine any overweight stranger enjoying some of my posts. I've also been very critical of kiddie-porn, Nambla, and other chickenhawk type posts.. While it can be fun to re-visit my days as an 18-year-old and imagine a shower scene with one of my college interns, I find the look of younger boys to be a serious sexual turn-off. Most images from Helix Studios do not turn me on. Much like scat or latex underage boys (or girls) are a fetish I can't wrap my brain around. I definitely can't bear the visual of an old fat guy naked with a skinny boy who looks fourteen or younger.:END Pontificating and moralizing by Rockhard What the hell does that all have to do with mourning or telling stories about processing other deaths? Who cares what you think about obesity, kiddie-porn, etc? If you don't like scat, why throw it at lurkerspeaks in this thread? You are taking him to task for his weight and then suggesting he is into kids. Shame on you! You think that you are too precious, but the reality is turning out that you are just a pompous old queen.1 point

And then there's controlling. I don't think Axiom's post is "a little bit psychopathic," but everyone knows how I feel about forum members who attempt to control what other people post on a thread. All one can do is smirk at the attempt and watch folks on both sides of the issue prove my point. The thread was started by Oz. Everyone deals with death and mourning uniquely. If Oz didn't object to members talking about death and dying, as inspired by this story, then I welcome others comments, much like I welcome comments from friends and attendees at a funeral service or memorial service. I see no disrespect in sharing stories as part of one's mourning process. If Oz or Axiom wanted to create a eulogy thread to Lurkerspeaks, with the specific intention to limit comments to eulogize, they certainly had that opportunity. I disagree with that overly harsh characterization.1 point -

Matt Lauer Fired
AdamSmith reacted to RockHardNYC for a topic
We're experiencing a watershed moment for all the women who have been dogged by men in power. Karma can be a beast, and she don't need a court of law to indict and destroy a life. Matt Lauer is now saying, “Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching and I’m committed to beginning that effort. It is now my full time job." Men in power often think they can say and do anything they want, especially to subordinates. Men in power often mistake subordinate fawning and professional respect for sexual attraction. When the men in power are famous and wealthy, the feelings are magnified beyond belief. I worked with Matt before Katie Couric left the "Today" show. Their relationship was as close to brother/sister as I have ever witnessed in a professional setting. I thoroughly enjoyed working with both of them. You don't truly know someone until you finally think you've learned enough. I wish Matt a lot of luck on his new job. Time can heal a lot of wounds, but it can take a lot longer than we may initially realize.1 point -

Temples in Thailand are religious symbols and in many you must wear certain clothes to enter. To do what they did is shameful and disrespectful. There is even a sign leaving the airport that talks about how the Buddha is not a collectable but a symbol for the Thai people. When in Rome.....1 point -

Well, you're sure good at it! I've never been able to manage even simple changes in Photoshop. Not only do you get elements to merge and colors to match, but you also create pictures without artifacts and without anything that looks out of proportion or phony. Not easy to do. Grateful you're willing to take the time and share the talent!1 point -
As if that jacket weren't cause enough... ...this revolution in taking women seriously is maybe the best thing since the Civil Rights Act of 1965. And many leap-forward progresses since, like the MA state supreme court ruling in 1986 that Marriage Inequality is Injust and Stupid! Goodbye & good riddance, Matt.1 point

I don't worry when it comes to giving head. Everything good in life carried some risk. That said it's a good idea not to brush your teeth for a half hour before and after giving head - doing so greatly increases your risk for disease.1 point -

I remember the username Lurkerspeaks from Hooville, but I don't recall any interaction. I have been very frank in the past about my thoughts on obesity. Even though I have a few XXL friends and family members I love, I can't imagine any overweight stranger enjoying some of my posts. I've also been very critical of kiddie-porn, Nambla, and other chickenhawk type posts. While it can be fun to re-visit my days as an 18-year-old and imagine a shower scene with one of my college interns, I find the look of younger boys to be a serious sexual turn-off. Most images from Helix Studios do not turn me on. Much like scat or latex, underage boys (or girls) are a fetish I can't wrap my brain around. I definitely can't bear the visual of an old fat guy naked with a skinny boy who looks fourteen or younger. Age 57 is a short life. I do not want to get sick or die in a country I'm visiting for the first time. I've been in a few European hospitals. When I die, I'm hoping to be closer to home. Preferably in my bed, as I sleep. I also can't wrap my brain around sex of any kind while not feeling well. The moment I feel the sniffles, the last thing I think about is sex. Not only do I NOT want to infect others (if my bug happens to be contagious), I don't want to leave my immune system vulnerable by being too close to strangers I don't know. I've traveled while sick a few times, and none of those memories were enjoyable. A few turned dangerous. If I don't feel well on the day of departure these days, I reschedule my trip. A plane is a cesspool of germs. This thread has been a fascinating read. I've shared it with a few people, especially my son. What do we do if I drop dead while traveling? It was a good question that finally got answered, thanks to Lurkerspeaks.1 point -

The guys in Bogota are twice as expensive and not half as good looking, It's hard to explain: the conventional wisdom in Columbia is that Bogota is Inca Indian primarily while Medellin is European-Latino but it's more than that. Both cities are more mixed Spanish/Inca. Bogota is a huge city high in the Andes and very well-to-do. Guys don't need money. Medellin is a little smaller and much sunnier and warmer in a deep verdant valley. People are more what we think of as latino and poorer. Guys need cash. Plus it's a big party town like Rio or New Orleans. Bogota is no party town in spite of it's huge gay area. I'm not sure I ever saw anyone smile there. Basically, Medellin is New Orleans and Bogota is Jersey City with a pre-Columbian gold art museum. Medellin is totally safe in all but the northwest part of downtown, west of the cathedral. Most guys have strapping muscular bodies, are bi and are eager. It's just you have to use Club Tobi and referrals from there, Grindr, Chaterbate, etc to get dates. They love hairy guys (to them it's a sign of European-ness). I would invest in a gay guide maybe with connections. Like everything else in Medellin, one would be very inexpensive.1 point -

Bogota has a fairly large suana-with-masseur scene; maybe 7-10. As in Lima the guys are physically disappointing for the most part. Also expensive and lacking in talent. There's a huge gay area of town and huge gay bars (Theatron). Bogota is a very big European-like city that's comparatively well-to-do. The Gold Museum of pre-Columbian gold art is worth the visit alone (many people go just for that). Medellin is Where the Boys Are. Strapping latinos eager for anything and cheap. Oddly there's few saunas with boys but Club Tobi is one of my favorites anywhere and a good place to start. A good quarter of the guys on Chaterbate are in Medellin and eager to meet clients in person. If you click on "Just South American Rooms" on CB, almost all will be Medellin. Any tip, even a single 10 cent token, gets you a message. Also Grindr in Medellin is full of "Prepagos" , ie escorts. There's a block off the main street with hustler bars and a sex hotel. Unfortunately, the only ugly guys in Medellin are there. Medellin is extremely cheap. A "massage" with sex at Club Tobi is under $25. If you've seen the Gold Museum, there are cheap direct flights to Medellin from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. It's very close. Even Spirit and JetBlue fly there. The worst part of a trip to Medellin is the taxi ride over a mountain from the airport. Take nausea pills.1 point -
Larstrup, you are correct. I hadn't realized that by including that time marker that one could click on it to get to the Facebook page. So you have taught me something. Perhaps the moderator can delete that link. My apologies to all concerned.1 point
