I asked the question here because having checked Google, the answer is rather complicated. I wonder whether and how guys visiting Peru regularly check the ages of young men, as stated online against their official ID. It seems the age of consent in Peru for males is 14. Criminal charges may, however, be brought against an adult who uses "deceit, abuse of power, or the vulnerability of a teenager" to have sex with someone under the age of 18. Sex tourism is well-known in Peru and I'm sure no-one here would condone pedophilia. When I travelled in Argentina, I was surprised at how often tall, well-built young men came onto me. Yet it was only after insisting on seeing their official ID that I learned that several young men were under the age of consent there.
