INTRODUCTION: Whenever I travel abroad, I like to visit the well known tourist attractions, sites and enjoy nature. However...one needs relaxing too right. First: stay in the safe areas (there is enough info on google), don't go to infamous neighborhoods, only take a little cash when you go out and don't wear or carry obvious valuables (e.g. watches, iPhones, jewelry). I always put some emergency money in my shoes for when a pickpocket gets me. When I needed my phone, I used it discrete and I kept it in a hidden pocket. Secondly: don't walk the streets after dark, take a taxi using the different apps. My favorite was Uber: safe, documented and no cash involved. Loved it. Last: be aware of your surroundings, don't leave your drink unattended. Basically these rules should be applied by every visitor in every city in the world I think. Once these rules were in my system, I started to enjoy the place! Besides that I rented my private apartment which gave me a very secure feeling and, subsequently, a place to play when needed :-) SEX (Grindr): Latinos. I love The Week and I go every time that I go to Rio. I do not think that it is the best place to pick up guys though--and even my Brazilian friends don't go there to pick up guys. Most people come with their friends to dance and enjoy the music and to walk around and see who else is there. It is a great people watching place but very loud and hard to carry on a conversation. Even if you can chat with someone for a bit there is so much distraction they rapidly move on. Most locals who come don't want to leave much before 6am or later so that is also a factor. It may have been closed for drugs recently but I doubt that changed much and carrying on a conversation with someone who is high is next to impossible. Still--go for sure if you like big, classy clubs with good music!

Itinerary for two weeks: Fly in to Bogota - spent 2 days: get settled and acclimatized, visit La Candaleria (Gold Museum, Botero Museum) by day, relax in Zona G or Parque 93 at night (safe), visit Monerrate for he city view (go in the morning, take a taxi to the gondola station - don't walk), enjoy Chapinero, go out in Theatron (Thu, Fri, Sat) FUN: visit one of the Cabinas, hook up via Grindr (you can meet out and go to 'Motel' to get laid), Sauna (Babylon Baths in Calle 72 does it for me). Fly domestic to Medellin - spent 5 days: first time there? stay in Poblado, easy, safe and packed with fellow travelers. Otherwise stay Laureles. Take the free walking tour, travel the metro (to Acevedo) and the gondola (to Santo Domingo Savio), take the next gondola to Parque Avi, visit Botero Square, mayby plan a daytour to the coffee region FUN: Grindr is patient..., Club Tobi will make your eyes pop, sauna's, video clubs, La Casa Inclinada (Cra. 44 #46-38, is a sleezy fuck club OMG!!) Fly to Cartagena - spent 5 days: beach, old city, old fort, culture of Spanish colonial time, nice restaurants, bars, laid back atmosphere, just wind down here. FUN: use the apps AYOR (be smart here, ask the right questions, get their phone number and current photo - there are more tourists here, many are naive, so some bad guys take advantage), cruise the upper level toilets in CENTRO COMERCIAL Portal de San Felipe (fuck, the number of cocks I sucked there....I visited that place in a daily routine haha) Fly back to Bogota - spent your final days there fucking your brains out with hot and horny latino's before you head back home wondering: 'Why the fuck didn't I come to Colombia sooner??!?'! PART III CASUAL STREET TRADE. So if one is done wondering around in a new town and visiting the main sites, what's next? It was exactly this what I was doing after a nice walking tour in down town Medellin one afternoon (the free walking tour is recommended! Simply check TripAdvisor for details).
