Hi guys, my travel begins in 1 month and as i've promised to myself, i'm starting my "diary" hoping this will also act as an updated giude to dos and don'ts while visiting Rio for "sauna fun". I am a european guy in the late 20s, in good shape. I can already tell you that, no...i'm not interested in the "free" sex. I can have plenty of it here in Italy. I want the super-hot garotos that only exist in my mind and in porn movies, and in the pics i've seen in this topics about brazilian saunas :D. So...saunas....i'm coming. I will be in Rio from the 1st February to the 10th, and i will stay in a hotel in Flamengo (at the moment). Why Flamengo? It's a nice area, not far from the 3 saunas and not too far from the beaches (which will not be my main interest, mostly because of extreme heat and my white skin). I will disclose the hotel name when i'll get information about the "guest policy" they operate. As a very sociable person, i don't have problems asking garotos for a pic, which i will post here with some alteration and in private (if asked) only if the guy already has the same type of public pics in the internet. During the last couple of months i've managed to learn some Portuguese, i will tell you how much this will help. That's all for now.

It's raining, and there's rain predicted for 9 of the next 10 days. The reservoirs are already mostly full, even before the Spring snowmelt. Anyone saying we're still in a drought should be metaphorically shot!

Sucking air outta lettuce aint my idea of a party.... and BTW I tried it long ago and while it DID prolong life of the lettuce, the additional time wasnt worth all the sucking needed every time you opened the bag. Giving up lettuce was easier, and I dont miss it.

Everything BVB said. Also, on-the-head lettuce keeps a lot longer than bagged lettuce or mesclun. I live close enough to stores that buying loose mesclun only enough for that day's/night's use works fine for me and is not a nuisance. In fact fits ideally with my habit of drifting into one or another grocery store a few minutes each day to just roam around, and see what raw ingredients in each & any department look particularly good, and I know or can imagine something to do with them, and seem to call out to be that night's dinner.

I keep lettuce in a lettuce crisper. A Tupperware container where you can squeeze a little air out. I don't wash the lettuce. I wash only what I'm going to use. washing it early tends to wilt the lettuce faster. I put a paper towel at the bottom of the crisper. That tends to absorb the extra moisture, and I change the towel every couple of days. It only takes a couple of seconds. I keep the lettuce container in the vegetable bin in my fridge. I take out only what I need, wash it and use it. I put the lettuce container immediately back into the fridge. All of that still only keeps the lettuce fresh less than 7 days. It does go bad fairly rapidly. But I tend to re-buy the lettuce once a week anyway, and yes, I throw a lot of it out, but I live alone, and I just can't eat a whole bag every week. It is what it is. Trader Joe's used to carry small bags of lettuce. It was perfect, but my local store discontinued the small sizes... Good luck...

I think Lagoa was very laid back and guys would just wait. At 117, the guys are a bit more aggressive, they talk to you, tease you. I like teasing and chatting. The competition is so high that guys are really willing, so you feel demanded. I saw the guy who was at 202 yesterday, a short guy who kept ignoring my eye contacts. Maybe they have a promo tomorrow, but I will go either way 117 seems to charge for condoms and lubes. I didn't get the receipt but I saw some small charges there along with suites and entry fee. This is slightly different from other saunas because I almost always got free condoms and lubes when I rented a room unless I asked for an extra. Also 117 doesn't seem to differentiate entry by cash or cc. I asked how much it would be if I pay by cash, the reception lady said the same.
