Since the upgrade I've had problems getting on if using Safari, so I am using Firefox with a modicum of ease. I do miss reading, especially in the international travel sectors. Wish the guys who travel to the South would write about their experiences and continue to cite valuable information for the use by future travelers as well as those who are just interested in reading and living their adventures vicariously. You would be going there on vacation and staying in tourist areas. I seriously doubt you'd encounter anything close to being that dark of an experience. Also, that same shit happens here in parts of the good old USA. Why would Ellen Page go to Ipanema Beach dressed in all black like some goth girl?

Where to stay depends on your budget. There are lots of hotel/apt style in Moinhos de Vento which is in an upscale neighborhood so you can go out take a walk during the day and next to the Park. Where I stay usually is at Mercure Manhattan Hotel, it has a gym and pool if u want to bring someone overnight to swim and buffet breakfast. Citibank is few blocks away. Not scary to walk around since there are lots of nice restaurants and small shops around. It's good neighborhood and close to Sheraton Plaza/mall. You can just take a cab to Mezzaninu. There is easy taxi app just like Uber to pick you up and take u to the sauna. Happy Trip ! I will be there in 2 weeks !
