  1. Of course I will remain with AA. I also have top tier status with UA, Air Berlin and Austrian Airways. I intend to stay with those airlines as well. Are the airlines without problems? Not at all. However, when we want to travel to places we enjoy, we have to take the less pleasant along with the pleasant. When you have tier status with an airline there are many benefits. One important benefit for me is when there is a missed connection or a mechanic delay. Having status takes away a lot of the aggravation of being re booked. Often, you don't need to talk with an agent. You simply check your smart phone and you will find your replacement flight already posted. With respect to AA, they have the most flights to Brazil than any other carrier, excluding TAM and GOL. Why would I choose to not stay with AA when they have so many options for contingencies, despite the probable downsizing of aircraft to Brazil? In other words, if you miss your flight or connecting flight, AA has so many flights to Brazil, the missed flight is only an inconvenience. If you took UA, for example and routed through their hub, Chicago or IAD or IAH or EWR, UA has only one flight each day from those hubs. If you happen to miss your connection or there was a mechanical, you would have to wait until the next evening to travel to Brazil. It is a no brainer to stay with AA, if you are a frequent Brazil traveler. -

    Athens Greece 2016

Athens Greece 2016 For cruising and punters there is very little current information in English for Athens. I could not find anything approaching a decent gay map for Athens either. For a regular gay night out on Friday or Saturday night, most go to Gazi, just west of central Athens. For boys, Athens is not what it was 5-10 yrs ago. Quite a pity. Despite all the immigration troubles, there is not a huge selection of boys available for hire. (I do not wish the troubles on anyone.) There is a park just 4 blocks north of the National Archeological Museum. Near the SW entrance, it has lots of drug users. Far more more than in the past. In the western half of the park there are 2 small churches. As you face each church, there are obvious areas of use to the right, given all of the condoms on the ground etc. But mostly other horny guys and virtually all over 30-35 y.o. That can be lots of fun. There are groups of younger immigrant guys wandering around, but they mostly seem to be hanging out and not that interested in making money, although many older guys would pay.You can play in the woods off any path. The Greeks seem to have absolutely no issues about this. Just stay out of site if playing, as some kids and families do use the park. All of my comments are for late afternoon activities. Not sure how safe the park is after sundown. I have seen some postings about the Zappeion area - which is about a 1km or so SE, but have never been there at MN. Bars with boys: Barino 22 Makedonias (my spelling might be off), S of Victoria Metro - was padlocked. But maybe just for the winter. Paint and padlock looked new. Sammy's, 30ish Filis, just north was open at MN Sat. night. Less than 12 older guys and I only saw a few boys, so I left quickly. I could not find a bar called Epta near Derigni and Attalos, NW of Victoria M. Test Me is at 64 Pipinou N of Victoria M. Lots of punters and maybe 8 boys at MN Sat night. But where to go to play? Most hotels would likely not allow a romp, but there was a posting elsewhere about a nearby hotel by the hour or equivalent. So by Athens standards, likely not cheap. Maybe, from the other posting, 50-100+ Euros in all. Not expensive compared to Berlin or Spain. There might also be some places SE of the Acropolis Museum on Lempesi St, but I cannot comment. The 3 saunas do not get great reviews, even for non paid sex. There are some adult video stores or arcades. Not certain if any boys go there. That leaves the Kosmoplit Cinema about 2 blocks N of Omonia M and next to the Kosmopolit hotel (mind you there are different spellings in English). 4.50 Euro admission, likely good all day with in and out privileges I think. The old days of the other cinemas are far gone. The boys at the KC often do not do as expected, but do not seem too pushy. 10-30 Euros depending on the boy and your interests. At least they accept the agreed price without trying to rob or mug you. So even a boy that does not do as expected will not set you back too much money, and you can still have a bit of fun, and then try another. You can play in the cinema, but most all meet there, chat a bit, and head to bathroom downstairs. There are also 2 other rooms to play in. Certainly less than prices to play in Germany or Spain. However those guys are hunkier and more likely to offer what was agreed to. I had difficulty in finding boys who would bottom, some would only offer to let you suck them. If they suck you, they put a condom on you. I would not doubt that the boys come and go quickly. Many spoke arabic. We could really use some additional info and a good map for all of this. It is not the same as yrs ago, but still fun.

  4. As I read Scott's report, you thought came to mind. It's quite, quite, quite unfortunate that some travelers can't be safe because of an acute, declining economy, and one of the ways to survive on the part of some locals is to attack individuals whom they deem has money or valuables to sell. So to all newbies as well as those who consider ourselves pro travelers, just be extra careful. was in Ipanema. While the group departed from the bus which had to change its course due to the super-massive crowd in the street, I noticed that some of the women were dressed to "the nines and tens" and were wearing some gorgeous jewelry. I thought: what's up with that! One man got lost from us, and I took it upon myself to locate him by going through that big square, name has escaped me. I found him. But to this day I often think about the guidance folks receive about traveling to a place that "has been tagged as being dangerous." I have always felt safe there and fortunately have not encountered any difficulty while traveling alone. But I have watched myself and the areas to which I've ventured. Did not like traveling on foot through some of the neighborhoods in the area of Meio Mundo Just looked foreboding and frightening. Also, while I walked to the stadium during Carnaval, 2003, I didn't feel that safe either. Glad I was in a taxi upon leaving, for that scene for blocks did not look too safe. And dare I go to any of the favelas alone. Have received a great education from the advice and the information given at this site as well as at www.daddysreviews.com where all of the guidance was extended to us first and second and third travelers to Brasil by Trilingual whose first post about Brasil piqued my interests! So, men, cite helpful advice as you've been doing. It'll and has helped you and others. I write "help you" because others have written private messages and questions to me, and I've always felt good in having advised and guided. After their respective trips, I've received emails. When I've given the names and information regarding guides, the folks using their services have been pleased as well as the guides who've extended their services to them. The same goes for aspects regarding saunas, etc.......

  5. The reductions in American Airlines service to Brazil are noted in this FlyerTalk thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-airlines-aadvantage/1349176-laa-777-300er-77w-schedule-routes-consolidated-32.html American is reducing (but not eliminating) service to Sao Paulo on the new 777-300 (77W) planes. Currently there are 3 daily flights between Miami and Sao Paulo – two night flights and one during daytime hours. On February 10 the daytime flight will be reduced in frequency to 4 flights per week – on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. These weekend flights will still use the new 77W. On April 5 American will switch one of the evening flights to the older 777 aircraft. There will still be one flight each evening from MIA to GRU and vice-versa on the 77W. No changes have been announced for any other American Airlines flights between the USA and Brazil. This means that there will still be a daily flight to Sao Paulo from New York and from Dallas on the 77W. The daily flight from Los Angeles will also continue, but it uses a Boeing 787. And no changes were announced concerning flights to Rio – American will continue to have daily flights from New York and from Miami (both on a reconfigured 777-200) Will there be more flight cutbacks? If the economic crisis in Brazil continues I suspect that there will. We will see what happens.

  6. It is a good idea to begin the process of obtaining a visa as soon as possible. Most Brazilian consulates now require an appointment in order to submit a visa application and it can take time to get an appointment. For example I just noticed that the next available appointment time at the Los Angeles consulate is on February 24. And it can then take another week or 10 days for the visa to be issued. Have a great time in Brazil!

  8. You don't have to care. The OP alerted those of us who use AA to the fact that AA is cancelling the day flight from MIA to GRU and is downsizing and downgrading the type of planes used from MIA - to GRU on the evening flights. The planes are going out with lots of empty seats. AA cannot continue to use its newest and most modern aircraft on less profitable routes. Hence, the switch to older and smaller planes for the MIA - GRU route. If the AA flights from JFK and from DFW also continue to go out with lots of empty seats, logic tells us that AA could also expand the older planes to those other Brazil hubs. The change to a less comfortable aircraft is something many of us will not like. The older planes that will be taking over the route do not have wifi aboard and the seats are not modern. The lack of wifi and modern seats make the long ride seem longer.

  10. Happy 10th anniversary to this forum and site! In a fruitcake coma after the holidays, we let Jan. 6 slip by unremarked. That was (right?) the day in 2006 when this site went live, under the name maleescortreview.com. THANK YOU, OZ! The community your platform makes possible is invaluable to many of us. And thanks to long-serving TampaYankee for moderating and helping the forum take flight. Here's to the next ten!
