    Medellin

Club Tobi is still definitely open at Calle 47 #43-88 . There's no sign and clearly no one knows it's entrance is there- there's just the address number. I highly recommend it as the prime spot to start. Did you go to Calle 57A where it intersects Avenue Oriental? There are 5 or 6 gay, mostly hustler bars there that flow into the street plus a sauna and the gay sex hotel which is painted in rainbow flag colors. The Gran Hotel on Calle 54 is the type hotel middle-class South Americans stay at. Mostly families and very safe. Nice well-kept building with security guard but with 1970's type furniture. Nicest for the area. I don't remember the $80 visa fee. Sorry you didn't at least get to Club Tobi. I regret missing the "house of boys" mentioned above.

  2. About 17% of voters surveyed report that gay marriage is a "very important" issue for them. That's 17% total including both for and against so it's just not of sufficient weight to be all that useful as a wedge issue for either the Dems or the Repubs. So why are the Dems all embracing the Supreme Court ruling and so many Repubs are trying to back away from the issue? You think maybe their deeply held personal convictions have suddenly evolved like a certain South Carolina governor 'evolved' last week on the issue of the Confederate battle flag? Yea, me neither. Which still begs the question of what environmental factor might be driving this evolution of views by so many pols. Why are Dems rushing to embrace us and so many Repubs rushing for the door? This statistician thinks he's found the answer. He thinks that while gay marriage is no longer useful as a wedge issue, it does act as an important threshold issue. Seems that even those people for whom our issue is of minor importance in and of itself find folks who carry on against it off-putting. Rant on against gay marriage and they just tune you out on other issues you might well expect to be able to reach them on. Don't know if that is right but it does kinda explain the recent behavior of our pols.

    Star of Bethlehem Tonight

http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/30/us/feat-jupiter-venus-conjunction/ (CNN)Put down the cell phone. Go outside. Look up. Tuesday night, Jupiter and Venus will culminate a month-long dance with what astronomers say will be a dazzling display, appearing just a fraction of a degree apart from one another in the night sky -- a show that some astronomers say could account for the "Star of Bethlehem" mentioned in the Bible. "To the eye they'll look like a double star," Sky & Telescope editor Kelly Beatty said on the magazine's website. To see the lineup, look to the west-northwest shortly after sunset. This isn't a particularly rare event; such conjunctions are fairly frequent, thanks to how Earth and the two planets line up in the solar system, according to Sky & Telescope. iReporter Lonna Ours took these photos of Venus and Jupiter on June 21. The two planets are moving closer together throughout the month of June and will eventually appear to converge. EXPAND IMAGE But the combination of how close the planets will appear -- one-third of a degree -- the viewing angle at many latitudes and the time of day make this a particularly special event that ranks "very highly" among conjunctions, Rice University astronomer Patrick Hartigan wrote on his website. Although the planets will appear to draw near one another in August and again in October, the next such event to rival Tuesday night's won't happen until 2023, he said. And although the two planets will appear to be close together, in reality, millions of miles of empty space separate them.

  4. And would he have had anything posted that would have drawn an "Oh, my!" from Sandra Day O'Conner? [sen. Ted] Cruz served as a law clerk to then Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist. One day, he was standing behind Rehnquist and Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. “We were in front of a large computer screen gazing at explicit, hard-core pornography,” Cruz wrote. The reason? The court was considering a case challenging a law that regulated online porn. The clerks were older and not well-versed in the Internet, so court librarians set up a tutorial for the justices and their clerks on how easy it was to find porn online. Cruz watched as the librarian typed in the word “cantaloupe,” though it was misspelled. “A slew of hard-core, explicit images showed up onscreen,” he wrote. “As we watched these graphic pictures fill our screens, wide-eyed, no one said a word. Except for Justice O’Connor, who lowered her head, squinted slightly, and muttered, ‘Oh, my.’”

    Brasil Economic News

Starbucks does their roasting only with Arabica beans whilê here in Brasil they export the smoother Arabica and generally roast only the rougher Robusta beans. I am in São Luis right now. But Sunday morning while Hubbing at Confins in BH, there was not a cup of decaf to be found at any spot. Trust me. I checked. I had 2 1/2 to kill between flights.

    Medellin

Last year or perhaps the year before, I searched the travel section on http://www.craigslist.comfor tour guides in Colombia, Bogota and Medellin; there were two or three at the time. For one who has little to no knowledge of Espanol, perhaps getting a guide during your first trip {solo} would be of great help. From what Colina77 posted, I would have been at a complete loss as well as frustrated! But, when I venture back to Cuba, I plan to take an electronic translator; ...will do the same if I manage to take the plunge and travel to Colombia, a country which has begun to lure me after reading the posts at this site as well as seeing and speaking with the gorgeous guys on "Flirt for Free" who have always told me that their home base is some city in Colombia.

  7. During my 3 week vacation i got down to Meio Mundo twice. Both times i did not like it. It has gotten dirtier over the past several years. the place smells of cat piss. upstairs bar is still nice enough, and the garotos are much different then the garotos at 117. locker room for the clients. please tell me why the large TV room is there as opposed turning it into a large locker room for us. it would be nice to have a chair to sit in getting dressed, and a full locker to hang the clothing, I do not like that the boys sit in the room and watch which locker we are using, and what we are putting into the locker... i know its Murphy's law. but when i checked in, the other guy in front of me was given, the locker right next to mine in the corner... so one of had to wait till the other one was done... great planing desk man. the showers once again there was a used condom in the corner. no hot water upstairs. I have walked around a bit, but i wish someone in the know would add to this post a floor by floor description of the place. I know they merged two buildings into one? but how does the layout really work. How does one get the deluxe rooms. it was just not clear how this all works. I had plans to go this past Monday with Iphy, but he canceled out on me, and i booked a massage into the hotel skipping going back to MM a third time
