  2. So it turns out the great Utilitarian philosopher was an early believer in letting same-sex-attracted people do the dirty in whatever way they wished, without hindrance or sanction. Although he did not dare publish those writings in his lifetime, and they were subsequently, predictably, long suppressed by his editors. 3. From Mother Jones. The 8 Best Lines From Ginsburg's Dissent on the Hobby Lobby Contraception Decision —By Dana Liebelson | Mon Jun. 30, 2014 11:32 AM EDT On Monday, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg penned a blistering dissent to the Supreme Court's 5-4 ruling that the government can't require certain employers to provide insurance coverage for methods of birth control and emergency contraception that conflict with their religious beliefs. Ginsburg wrote that her five male colleagues, "in a decision of startling breadth," would allow corporations to opt out of almost any law that they find "incompatible with their sincerely held religious beliefs." Gore How Obama Can Make Sure Hobby Lobby's Female Employees Are Covered The Supreme Court Chooses Religion Over Science Hobby Lobby Wasn't About Religious Freedom. It Was About Abortion. Here are seven more key quotes from Ginsburg's dissent in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby: "The exemption sought by Hobby Lobby and Conestoga would…deny legions of women who do not hold their employers' beliefs access to contraceptive coverage" "Religious organizations exist to foster the interests of persons subscribing to the same religious faith. Not so of for-profit corporations. Workers who sustain the operations of those corporations commonly are not drawn from one religious community." "Any decision to use contraceptives made by a woman covered under Hobby Lobby's or Conestoga's plan will not be propelled by the Government, it will be the woman's autonomous choice, informed by the physician she consults." "It bears note in this regard that the cost of an IUD is nearly equivalent to a month's full-time pay for workers earning the minimum wage." "Would the exemption…extend to employers with religiously grounded objections to blood transfusions (Jehovah's Witnesses); antidepressants (Scientologists); medications derived from pigs, including anesthesia, intravenous fluids, and pills coated with gelatin (certain Muslims, Jews, and Hindus); and vaccinations[?]…Not much help there for the lower courts bound by today's decision." "Approving some religious claims while deeming others unworthy of accommodation could be 'perceived as favoring one religion over another,' the very 'risk the [Constitution's] Establishment Clause was designed to preclude." "The court, I fear, has ventured into a minefield." You can read the full dissent here. (It starts on page 60.) http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/06/best-lines-hobby-lobby-decision

  6. There are many invisible hands, not the least of which are the 3M products to include Scotch Tape and others. I, for one, do not appreciate Scotch, although I readily admit to appreciating Scots Men. I find Scotch reminds me too much of diesel fuel which is good for mileage but not necessarily good for ambience. OTOH, I do really appreciate our poster herein, AS, and wish us all well to the future. Best regards, RA1

  7. Upon what characteristic of AS (the original, or actually the son of the original) do you mainly ascribe? I find you have not bulging eyes, a peculiar gait or much of a speech impediment (other than living among Yankees overlong). My dear Sir, do you even like Scotch? Best regards, RA1

    Brasil in September

Meio Mundo now costs 40Reais entry. And Clube 117 is now up to 50Reais. Both saunas have a Cavalete in some of the rooms/suites. MM bar has vinyl covered banquets that run the length of the room. Haven't been to 117 since last year. But when last there, part of the bar had been built out with more suites with part left as a second TV room with the bar at times staffed, more often not. There is a round bed in the center of the space, chairs and tables, sofa along the walls, all of which is fairly private and a good place to get to know the boy even more intimately before deciding to actually get a suite. Have not been to 202 since 2007. MM does not have wifi.
