  1. I too have wanted to attend the Palm Springs Bash ever since they began. I assume it is still organized by Oliver? He and his co-organizers seem to have done a wonderful job from day one as far as the reports I've heard. Missing out on attending has always been my loss as far as I am concerned. It's a curse of being an East Coaster, at least this East Coaster. Just because I had issues with Daddy's site doesn't mean I have issues with those who participate there. I was always interested in meeting several of the guys who participate there and who used to attend. Bringing escorts along for a social setting was a nice addition too. It always sounded like a fun weekend to me. I'm not sure why some people have to piss in the street when the Circus comes to town. If you do not like the circus, big deal. No body else gives a damn. Why anyone feels compelled to share an opinion no one sought or cares about is pointless except to raise a little dust and spread a little unwanted negativity, both better done without.

  2. I have attended this event in the past and had a great time. The hosts of the events are fun, accommodating and enjoyable to chat and talk to. There are some that go that are very protective of their "dates" and there are others that go that want their "dates" to get more business. For me, I went dateless and there were many like me that just went for the conversation of like minded individuals. And, hey I met AJ Irons there and think he is one of the hottest guys on earth. And, I assume that our friend Lucky will be there this year as well and while I think he did start the events, he has now turned them over to others and Lucky is one of the most fascinating men you can ever meet to chat with and talk to in person. When you get to meet so many truly good men to chat with and learn from, the events turn out to be really enjoyable. I find these events fun and if you are in the area and are invited, I suggest you attend one. As for me, I love escorts, hookers, clients and conversation related to all of them. I am curious if truthteller2 is the same as truthteller from the old days? Inquiring minds want to know.

  3. According to a publication in NewScientist, raw semen is a first class anti-depressant. No really, listen to this: "semen does contain several mood-altering hormones, including testosterone, oestrogen, follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinising hormone, prolactin and several different prostaglandins." Apparently the good stuff is absorbed directly through the recipient's tissues and lingers in his/her blood stream, so it's happy, happy, happy (at least until the STD tests come back). Lots of ifs, ands & butts here, so read the fine print and proceed at your own risk. http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn2457#.UuQSO7xMG1I

  4. Hmmm. Well, as of September 2012, the rehab has not gotten off of the paper. Of course, this being Brasil, the developers who paid 85million Reais for the property, are blaming the Intercontinental group for problems with the negotiation. http://oglobo.globo.com/rio/a-um-mes-do-fim-da-licenca-reforma-do-hotel-nacional-ainda-nao-comecou-6041545

  5. At one time, The Donald had his sticky fingers involved in the rehab/reopening of the thirty story tower in Sao Conrado. Here is a link from the Prefeitura/Rio Municipal Government that the project is supposed to be completed in May 2014 with the Intercontinental chain as the operator of the Oscar Neimeyer building with preserved gardens from the hand of Roberto Burle Marx. http://www.barralerta.com.br/component/content/article/243-prefeitura-anuncia-o-projeto-do-novo-hotel-nacional-em-sao-conrado.html

  6. Seriously, sometime last month there was coverage of the total rehab of the Hotel Gloria, to be named the Hotel Gloria Palace. There was mention in the article of possible hotel chains to take over the management. All of this went bye-bye with the bankruptcy of Eike Batisita. Kind of like the Donald and his gambling empire shambles. But worse. Much, much worse. Here's a link to what was to be. For certain, the place will not be open in time for the World Cup and for the Olympics? There is a large gaping hole in the back of the complex where a new tower was planned. http://exame.abril.com.br/negocios/album-de-fotos/o-novo-hotel-gloria-que-eike-nao-tirou-do-papel-em-20-fotos

  7. Quite a few new properties are planned for openings before 2016. I am not sure how many will actually be built or what will become of them after the circus leaves town. I will be looking towards RIO in 2015. Some new hotels will be open by then and I am guessing they will be hungry for customers. Unfortunately a lot of them are being built on the outskirts of town for security purposes- which will necessitate a car hire to get to the fun spots,

  10. I just saw it as well and was really impressed. Granted I haven't seen several of the others nominees yet, but this one, especially for anybody who's lived in LA is really something. It's the best LA can or ever will look, absolutely gorgeous. I've always been indifferent on Joaquin Phoenix but he did a great job here. As did Scarlett Johansson. Olivia Wilde was the only slightly off note for me, didn't quite fit but not a big part. But the ideas behind it also really did something for me. Every other time I've heard/read anything to do with 'The Singularity' my eyes glaze over. But this, for the first time, I could really see. And the slightest hints at what was going on as the OSes develop was pretty deep Sci-Fi without spelling it out and losing half the audience was very well done, I felt. I highly recommend Her.

  13. A sweet romance, a dash of porn but mainly two characters I really liked and got interested in. Try this out if you're interested in webcomics or, if you're curious about the artform, TJ and Amal is a good place to start. http://tjandamal.com/

  14. I detested Titanic. I kept on waiting for the damned boat to sink so I could get the hell out of there. There is something about Leo that I find distrubing. However, I did like his acting shtick tics in Gilbert Grape. Blood Diamond, wavering accent. The Avaitor? Anyone really feel any kind of connection with Cate/Kate?
