TY, darling, proposing moi as Lord High Executioner shows an appalling lack of judgement on your part. OFF WITH YOUR HEADS! BOTH OF THEM!2 points

Mine is Jerry Francisco who managed to say Elvis died of natural causes with a straight face (if you will pardon the expression). Much later he recanted and recognized polypharmacology as the real cause. Best regards, RA12 points

I have not thought about crooners as such in quite a while. It seems an old fashioned term but then I am an old fashioned guy. I have enjoyed many on wayout's provided list and would include others such as Ray Charles, Dean Martin and as zip suggests, the queen of scat, Ella. Best regards, RA12 points

I think that before any action ensues there must be a 10 day cooling off period followed by or including 100 pictures of naked guys as proof of intent. Otherwise, no deal. Best regards, RA12 points

Sitting at home this evening with a bottle of wine (so forgive this nonsensical thread) and just surfing around YouTube checking out various crooners that I have enjoyed from years gone by as well as current . After hours of surfing I have come to the personal conclusion that my favorite is Andy Williams....what are yours? Here is a list of from one source of the best ten (which Andy does not appear on so I have totally discounted the validity of the list myself but am sharing it for reference): http://voices.yahoo.com/the-ten-best-crooners-all-time-5044388.html If you care to, I'd be interested to know of any of other members favorites (and post a vid of your favorite song they did). Here is mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LK4pmJQ6zgM http://youtu.be/flm4xcOyiCo My runner up is Matt Monro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nx_ktGU3-tQ (btw, I am fascinated to find out the origin of "crooner" but google searching in my current condition precludes me from gaining any insights so help me out)1 point

Tom, I have to admit I am a bit disappointed. Over the years, most likely you have used most if not all of the rooms at Meio Mundo. One of the boys joked to me that I knew that numbers for the different rooms better than he did. So, I think it is either in 11 or 13, as well as a couple of others that have a cavalette(little horse) as part of decorations. I (am ashamed to?) admit to having used it for more than a few one-on-ones in about four different positions. But I have yet to see you and your carefully selected groupings ever display photographs of the varied possibilities with multiple boys. Could be mind-boggling. Could be an addendum to the Joy og Gay Sex, Carioca Edition with you being able to claim an author/photographer credit. IHOP aka FavellaDweller1 point

I think it's more fundamental than that EXPAT. I suspect the monied wing of the party fears they are losing control; that the freak show wings of the party, useful if somewhat noisy in the past, have gotten completely off the reservation. What good does it do Silicon Valley to elect Republicans when the nativists block an immigration bill that would give them the tens of thousands of new visas they need to recruit top software engineers? What good does it do Wall Street and Big Business types to elect Republicans only to see them make a serious run at defaulting on the US debt. Whooping it up about Gays or aborted babies or Sharia law is all well and good and no doubt provides good entertainment for the great unwashed, but extending sequester another year instead of passing a budget has real consequences for the American economy. As I mentioned in another post, some of the traditional funders of the Republican party are seriously debating whether they should deliberately sabotage the 2014 Congressional elections in order to regain control of the party. The folks with money haven't been challenged for control of the Republican party since Teddy Roosevelt's Bull Moose days (LOL & that time they blew up the party & elected Woodrow Wilson president rather accomodate the Progressives).1 point

I once had a cute young twink put his head on my shoulder and fly all the way from Philadelphia to San Francisco. He was supposed to get off in Chicago, but I thought it would be a shame to wake him.1 point

Oddly enough, in classical times, getting face fucked was considered the vilest possible activity; getting butt fucked, not so much. The Romans even had a special word for it: irrumator...one who submits to fellate another man. I supposing the reverse would be true today so it's largely a cultural thing. Or maybe it's just that head cheese was more common way back then, circumcision being relatively rare amongst Romans and Greeks.1 point

Totally agree about Sinatra...the earlier the better. I couldn't find a great YouTube Bing Crosby but he certainly was amazing. Loved that video of the trio of Allan Sherman, Dean Martin and Vic Damone1 point

I'll go with Sinatra, although I still like Bing a lot, and how his voice seemed to take maximum advantage of the not-too-great sound reproduction back in his day. Back to Frank, 'The Summer Wind' -- and the earlier the recording, the better; as with a lot of his stuff, the later versions are over-orchestrated and his singing so much less poetic & bewitching than early on. Repeating myself, I still can't resist this trio either...1 point

Interesting that I didn't consider women as crooners but Expat is so right and there are some great lady crooners...Barbara being the best imho of that list. Really enjoyed that version of "Smile" and it indeed did make me smile. My runner up of female crooners is of course Judy (long intro but song starts around 2:10):1 point

I tend to agree with Lurker. I would make the stern warning via public notice so "everyone" would know what and why. Ditto the time out and banishment. I thought I understood from the first post what Toz was getting at but I appreciate the clarification. I completely agree that extreme malefactors should be dealt with forthwith by the moderators. I am willing to be persuaded and see the results of any other form of censure. Best regards, RA11 point

Hmm... So what are you gonna do when some nasty whack-a-doodle starts high jacking threads & spouting racist non-sense but it's a slow week and you can't round up enough votes to deep 6 the guy? Say you can email enough of us to form a quorum to vote the guy off the island, it's still a 3 or 4 day process...what do we do in the meantime? And what the hell do we (meaning I) do when a couple of posters go to the mattresses over some nonsense, set their allies on each other and start bombarding us (meaning me) with PM's and e-mails demanding I (oops...we) join the brawl or be forever consigned to outer darkness? Why set up a procedure in the first place that just begs to be converted into a BN style meltdown? Personally, I liked the old benevolent dictatorship just fine, thank you very much. Seriously, some systems just do not lend themselves to overly democratic procedures. This is Oz's site and, if he's going to have a forum, then he's just going to have to put up with some occasional kvetching by posters who have taken a dislike for each other. Or maybe delegate the headache to you, LOL.1 point

What numbers do you propose to make the process more efficacious? Keep in mind that it should not be an easy task while it must be possible to achieve for egregious cases.1 point -
Does seem a bit much for a quorum call. After all, what's good enough for the Senate... Of course if the new way doesn't pan out, there's always the tried and true...1 point

---- "The Finding for Suspension shall require a vote in the affirmative by at least 50% + 1 voting with a minimum of nine votes in the affirmative. Consequently, a minimum of 19 members must participate with at least 9 voting in the affirmative." ---- LOL, and what are the chances that 19 regulars will voluntarily jump into a very public brawl here on BoyToy? Oz, you sneaky old dog, with that as the threshold criteria, we would be hard put to evict Attila the Hun. So you've effectively banned us from banning anyone while simultaneously seemingly shifting the full onerous responsibility onto the membership. Thought you'd slip that one by me, did you? Hahahahaha...I thought you were supposed to be busy doing something important in India with the programmers? [Hmmm... I guess none of them has a cute ass...]1 point
