That is quite low for the Atlantico. Although, I would not stay there, I guess I can see why others would. I would think renting an apartment would be better quality for the same price though. As for the 100R, I have heard boys asking for that for years. They do need some cost of living increase.3 points

Without a doubt, my favorite place to grab a bowl/tijela of this merlot-toned treat. I think what I like is that they serve it in an authentic manner. Your option whether with or without guarana syrup, with our without tapioca, ability to adjust the sweetness level to your own preference. An oral orgasm before the other type waiting for you just a short walk or two-stop metro ride from Clube 117. Besides the tacaca and acai, I can vouch for a sampling of the ice cream with exotic flavors of fruit from the northeast of the country. In my open, don't bother with bonbons and waste your money on. Have another scoop or two of the sorvete/ice cream. Yum! Yum! The eyes of Tacacá do Norte’s harried staff widen as yet another customer arrives during the lunchtime rush. The bedroom-sized snack bar can barely hold one line of chairs around its bar but they have somehow managed to squeeze in two. Impatient regulars shake hands and whistle “psst” to the sheepish young men staffing the establishment, who gingerly hand steaming pots of shrimp soup and freshly puréed juices over the packed bar. If overcrowding is a problem for this tiny snack shack, it’s because it’s the real deal for açaí – a rare place in Rio serving pure, velvety slushies made from the purple Amazonian berry rather than the ersatz, hyper-sweet iced drink with lots of added sugar found in the standard snack bars elsewhere around town. While foreigners may know açaí as a trend - See more at: http://www.culinarybackstreets.com/rio/2013/tacaca-do-norte/#sthash.DNWoRNgE.dpuf2 points

Surely the Highlander Pub is in the UK, if not Scotland, so what better way to exercise your pet dog than going to the pub and having a few? A British tradition. Best regards, RA12 points

A skinny little guy goes into an elevator, looks up and sees this HUGE guy standing next to him. The big guy sees the little guy staring at him, looks down and says: 7 feet tall, 350 pounds, 20 inch private, 3 pound testicles, Turner Brown. The little guy faints and falls to the floor. The big guy kneels down and starts shaking him. The big guy says, What's wrong with you? In a weak voice the little guy says, What EXACTLY did you say to me? The big dude says, I saw your curious look and figured I'd just give you the answers to the questions everyone always asks me..... I'm 7 feet tall, I weigh 350 pounds, I have a 20 inch private, my testicles weigh 3 pounds each, and my name is Turner Brown. The small guy says, Turner Brown?! Sweet Jesus, I thought you said, 'Turn around!":)1 point

Well, while I love John Keats and Percy Booth Shelly, I am not much of a poet so I won't write a beautiful ode for him as it would be silly. (Lookin: if you read this, feel free to chime in) But, I saw a post from Lucky in the Lurkerspeaks thread and then he deleted it to remind us he is retired. I just wanted to remind Lucky that being retired is not the same as being dead. You can retire from posting and just post here and there and it will be appreciated. But, to completely remove yourself is more than retirement; it is desertion. We hope that when you feel the urge, that you will post even while you sip margaritas in PS. You too are very missed as a presence on this site and we hope you drop by a bit more in between your shuffleboard to entertain us from time to time.1 point

I realize it is all politics (as is most of everything) but I have personally been annoyed more than once with "cavalier" denials of over flight permissions. I am neither for or against Bolivia and their politics at the moment. Ostensibly, the flight was denied permission to proceed because there was a suspicion that Snowden was on board. So what? If he had managed to obtain Bolivian "help" in his quest for asylum then the "diplomatic" flight of the president's plane should have been unobstructed. How would we as US citizens feel if BO was traveling to Moscow and "suddenly" the Finns or Poles or some country between here and there decided to forbid AF1 from proceeding? International law regarding airspace is fairly new but has had time for "politics" to intervene. We have some "international" rules that are good and some not so good. Speaking English on the airwaves is one good thing, meaning only one language for all. But needing over flight permission for many countries usually means those countries that might not be as friendly to one's own country as one would hope. When I flew a trip from Brunei westbound to the US, I was denied over flight permission in many Arab countries and landing permission in most. I could over fly Saudi Arabia but not land there, for instance. It would be lovely if we could have "freedom of the skies" as proposed by Ike which had a slightly different context but still was the essence of what I proclaim. Best regards, RA11 point

Bolivian President's plane denied permission to overfly

I thought this was pretty ballsy of the U.S. to ask the European countries to do this but not surprising given the present tenor of the Admin and Congress. However, for the Europeans to accede to this over-the-top request was a major international relations faux pas that is most embarrassing to them. It paints them as toadies of the U.S., shows gross disrespect for Evo Morales, President of Colombia, and to Latin American nations in general. Can one imagine that China, Russia, Germany, or France, to name a few, would be treated this way by the U.S. and any other 'major' countries? Any apology to Evo Morales is insufficient short of a complete confession to the whole sordid affair and a mea culpa from the head of state of each offending country. It would be surprising to see that treatment extended to a Latin American Head of State. Certainly not without intense international pressure and who will bring that to bear since many of the players are the offenders? BTW, I'm surprised this has gotten so little play in the U.S. so far. Unlikely to get any more given the holiday, when the news and the people take a long weekend leaving the reporting to photographers, parades and fireworks displays. By Monday that story will be wrapping the catch-of-the-day in your local supermarket. You can bet it hasn't gone unnoticed in Latin America. Just one more high profile example of the US and Europe exhibiting their colonial powers credentials to those who already remember them well. The U.S. cannot get out of its own way when dealing with Latin American nations. It doesn't depend on who the party is or the President. We are just incapable of dealing with them without bullying or insulting them.1 point -
I thought this was despicable. To stop the president of another country to make sure someone we were hunting was not on board is a true slap in the face for not only Bolivia but for all other countries as well. When will we ever learn?1 point

RA1 and CharliePS raise some important considerations that I share but haven't been able to come up with the right way to articulate it as well as they have. We pretty much all come to the forum with our own expectations and vulnerabilities that likely vary significantly from person to person. So there may be times when things happen where participating isn't as fulfilling to ones own needs or enjoyable, and a time may come to make a decision. This can happen when there are perceived or real personal attacks, when the general atmosphere just isn't what one feels suits them, or any of a number of other reasons. It is completely valid to say life is short and it's not worth the hassle any longer. That decision can vary from person to person and I don't think it is necessarily childish or immature to walk away or take a break to gain perspective and/or adjust expectations. In many ways, it is a mature approach to take such an approach. I can relate somewhat to the process of making a decision as I decided to take a break from the other site because I didn't like the tone/environment any longer, as it was negatively impacted by a relatively small number of people there. Some may see that as a sign of weakness or being childish, but ultimately it led me to a place that I find much more to my liking and a better return on my time to be there.1 point

Unfortuantely not true on the prices that the boys charge. But maybe because my portugues is good enough that they know better than not to start too high. This past Tueday night at 117, almost every boy started at 100 or 120. One I have been with in the past only started at 80Reais. They all want an extra 20 to cum. However, if one is at any sauna on a night where the client/boy ratio is quite high, the price will come down. Also, later on in the evening, with the guys having thoughts of leaving, the will ask for less and cum for no extra charge. Yep, prices have gone up. It is now 2.75 for the bus. Or about 1.30US. Not too bad. Por quilos are still the best way to go. However, some such as Siqueira Grill charge much more than others. So check the prices before entering. Also, the more expensive ones will have more expensive items, so if you are happy with grilled chicken, fraldinha, picanha, etc. and don't need the fancier sushi and lamb, walk past the higher priced ones for the next or the one after. They almost all have two prices posted. One if one lunches between Noon and 2PM, and another for before Noon or after 2PM until whenever. BigBi is in Zona Sul. Expensive. One should expect to pay about 1.20 - 1.50 per 100ml. At Praca XV, the price just went from 5Reais to 5.80Reais for a 500ml cup of acai, for example. Still not outrageous. I think that the biggest increases that I have seen are for milk and eggs. Paying 1.50-1.65US per liter of milk and 2.00-2.50 per dozen medium/medium-large eggs.1 point
