  1. Paula Deen is a product of Southern upbringing. Is she racist ? Maybe, and she has every right to believe what she wants to believe, right or wrong, BUT when you are a PAID spokesperson representing major corporations, you are OBLIGATED to supress your own beliefs and promote the image of the company, and NOT create any controversy and ill will. Therein lies THEIR right to terminate her. I also feel her comments would not have been received so severely during deposition had she NOT answered "SURE" so enthusiastically when asked if she ever used the N word.. That reply alone set the tone and gave the impression that she felt it was "normal" and "acceptable" to use those words.... Paula Deens biggest issue is controlling her tongue. THINK before you speak Bitch and edit, edit, EDIT !

  2. His fancy words don't change the fact that he is a Bigot in all respects and is faithful only to the Corporations and never the individual. He would have been on the wrong side of every Landmark Decision practically for the last 100 years. All the Courts including this one have been wrong every time in his opinion. Thankfully many times the opinions of this bigot and guardian of the corporation have not prevailed.. Just imagine if this country had elected McCain and then re-elected where we would be with a RIGHT WING COURT.

    Favorite Meals

What was spectacular? Incredible? Like nothing else? While posting on another thread in the politics forum, why would Edward Snowden fly from Hong Kong to Moscow, my thoughts turned to Russian edibles - of course, caviar blinis and frozen vodka - my mind then leaped to one of the best meals of my life, about 30 years ago in St, Moritz, Switzerland, at the La Marmite Restaurant for lunch, on the Corviglia, stopping for a luncheon during a beautiful day on the slopes with caviar blinis, gravlax with horseradish sauce and dill, and of course, some frozen vodkas.

  6. He was tired of all of the twice-cooked pork in Hong Kong and had one of those WTF moments. Nothing at the moment sounded better than some caviar blinis and frozen vodka. Quite a splendid combination. Yum! Yum!

    It's overturned!!!!!!

What Nino wrote was just hateful Retirement cannot come soon enough. Even sadder is that after 20 wasted years, Clarence is still a relative youngster of 65. Sad to think that he might be at SCOTUS into his 80's

    It's overturned!!!!!!

Kevin Slater writing on the other forum made this observation: "One need not ever marry to benefit from today's ruling. By affirming fifth amendment rights of life and liberty upon the LGB community, the court establishes precedent against any manner of law which seeks to discriminate against gays. This case happened to involve marriage, but the protections affirmed therein likely apply just as well to employment discrimination, healthcare policy, criminal and family law, etc. Just as one doesn't need to use contraception to benefit from Griswold v. Connecticut's establishment of the constitutional right to privacy, one needn't walk down the aisle in order to benefit from the underlying rationale and precedent of this case."
