  1. I have not done much the past few days expect go to the saunas and hang out with friends. Not much to report until today. My friend tomcal and I met another friend IHPGUY for lunch. We went to The Siqeura Grill which is one of the por kilo places. The food was excellent and the price was decent as well. It is right off the beach and on the same street at Point 202. Ihpguy then took me on a tour of the city which was fascinating. We saw the Quartel Geral do Corpo de Bombeiros. The Fire Brigade of the State of Rio de Janeiro is where the firemen train and it also houses their museum. The museum was open air and quite interesting. Across the street from this was the Praça da República or the Republic Park. This is an area famous for their large rodents (not rats but huge) and also for their gay hookers. The guys sit in the benches and wait for you to approach them. There were tons of them in the park and we chatted with several of them. They gave a price of 30R for a programma and they said they could do everything. There were several that were very cute. If you speak the language, it will be much easier for you. My friend does speak fluent Portuguese and was willing to chat and interpret things for me which is a big help. I wasn't interested in taking anyone from there but it was great to see working boys outside of the saunas and that they are very easy to approach. We then walked to the "hanging gardens" area and then passed by the new Museum and the famous Cathedral in Centro Candelária Church. All in all, it was an amazing day and ihpguy was a fabulous guide and so kind to give me great information about the city and the area. He really is filled with great tidbits of info on EVERYTHING Rio and it was so much fun to learn more about a city I love! Once at the Sauna, Muio Mundo, I knew that Friday night was busy there but I was waiting for my overnight guy Marco and was not going to do with anyone. Until, one guy who I thought was adorable sat down with me and we had an enlightening conversation about how much he loved me. So, I took him and 2 other guys up for a 4 way. It was delightful and fun and each guy took turns with the other guys and me. Great sex from all of them. I was finished for the night until a nice Italian looking guy sat down and started to massage me. He said he was a great massagista and great at sex. I said OK and took him up to the room for the massage. He was great with the massage but then he turned it into a full blown sexcapes. Fantastic and I would recommend him to anyone who wants a "masculine" man. My date Marco showed up and we chatted for a while before he drove me and tomcal back to our area. A fun night with good friends and sexy boys. You can't ask for much more than that!

  3. The numbers prove it: The GOP is estranged from America By Andrew Kohut, Friday, March 22, 11:05 AM Andrew Kohut is the founding director and former president of the Pew Research Center. He served as president of the Gallup Organization from 1979 to 1989. In my decades of polling, I recall only one moment when a party had been driven as far from the center as the Republican Party has been today. The outsize influence of hard-line elements in the party base is doing to the GOP what supporters of Gene McCarthy and George McGovern did to the Democratic Party in the late 1960s and early 1970s — radicalizing its image and standing in the way of its revitalization. A 20-year low for the GOP In those years, the national Democratic Party became labeled, to its detriment, as the party of “acid, abortion and amnesty.” With the Democrats’ values far to the left of the silent majority, McGovern lost in a landslide to Richard Nixon in 1972. While there are no catchy phrases for the Republicans of 2013, their image problems are readily apparent in national polls. The GOP has come to be seen as the more extreme party, the side unwilling to compromise or negotiate seriously to tackle the economic turmoil that challenges the nation. It is no surprise that even elements of the Republican leadership that had been so confident of a Mitt Romney victory — including when it was clear that he was going to lose the election — are now looking at ways to find more electable candidates and cope with the disproportionate influence of hard-liners in the GOP. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus only scratched the surface this past week when he dissected the party’s November defeat: “There’s no one reason we lost. Our message was weak; our ground game was insufficient; we weren’t inclusive; we were behind in both data and digital; and our primary and debate process needed improvement. So there’s no one solution. There’s a long list of them.” A long list, but one that doesn’t address the emergence of a staunch conservative bloc that has undermined the GOP’s national image. The Republican Party’s ratings now stand at a 20-year low, with just 33 percent of the public holding a favorable view of the party and 58 percent judging it unfavorably, according to a recent Pew Research Center survey. Although the Democrats are better regarded (47 percent favorable and 46 percent unfavorable), the GOP’s problems are its own, not a mirror image of renewed Democratic strength. Americans’ values and beliefs are more divided along partisan lines than at any time in the past 25 years. The values gap between Republicans and Democrats is now greater than the one between men and women, young and old, or any racial or class divides. But while members of the Republican and Democratic parties have become more conservative and liberal, respectively, a bloc of doctrinaire, across-the-board conservatives has become a dominant force on the right. Indeed, it is their resolve and ultra-conservatism that have protected Republican lawmakers from the broader voter backlash that is so apparent in opinion polls. For decades, my colleagues and I have examined the competing forces and coalitions within the two parties. In our most recent national assessments, we found not only that the percentage of people self-identifying as Republicans had hit historic lows but that within that smaller base, the traditional divides between pro-business economic conservatives and social conservatives had narrowed. There was less diversity of values within the GOP than at any time in the past quarter-century. The party’s base is increasingly dominated by a highly energized bloc of voters with extremely conservative positions on nearly all issues: the size and role of government, foreign policy, social issues, and moral concerns. They stand with the tea party on taxes and spending and with Christian conservatives on key social questions, such as abortion rights and same-sex marriage. These staunch conservatives, who emerged with great force in the Obama era, represent 45 percent of the Republican base. According to our 2011 survey, they are demographically and politically distinct from the national electorate. Ninety-two percent are white. They tend to be male, married, Protestant, well off and at least 50 years old. Knowing how this slice of the electorate came together is key to understanding why GOP lawmakers have been able to withstand the public backlash that is so visible in polls — and why the party will face great difficulty in reinventing itself. According to our polling, three factors stand out in the emergence of the GOP’s staunch conservative bloc: ideological resistance to President Obama’s policies, discomfort with the changing face of America and the influence of conservative media. The Obama backlash The conservative response to Obama was fast and furious as he began his first term. While Republicans wished him well for a month or two after his 2008 victory — as many as 59 percent reported a favorable opinion of him in January 2009 — their disapproval of the new president soon rose sharply. By the 100-day mark of Obama’s first term, 56 percent of Republicans disapproved of the president. And by January 2010, 61 percent of Republicans and 73 percent of conservative Republicans strongly disapproved of the president. On a host of issues — gun control, abortion rights and global warming — national opinion quickly veered right. For the first time in more than a decade of polling, a Pew Research survey in April 2009 found nearly as many people saying it was more important to protect the right of Americans to own guns (45 percent) than to control gun ownership (49 percent). The same poll found that the share of the public saying that abortion should be legal in all or most cases had declined to 46 percent from 54 percent just eight months earlier. In the fall of 2009, those saying they believed that the Earth was warming fell to 57 percent from 71 percent a year earlier. The abortion shift proved to be short-lived — 54 percent once again believe it should be legal in most or all cases. But the public’s change of heart on gun control continues, even after Newtown. And belief in global warming has rebounded somewhat, but it remains significantly lower than it was before Obama took office. Perhaps the most far-reaching change we observed in 2009 concerned the size and role of government. A growing plurality of Americans said they preferred a smaller government that offered fewer services (48 percent) rather than an activist government that offered more (40 percent), compared to a virtually even split on this question a year earlier. At the same time, a clear trend of increasing public support for the social safety net that we’d seen during the George W. Bush presidency reversed itself within months of Obama taking office. hese trends kicked in before health-care reform became such a dominant political issue, but the charged political debate over Obamacare only reinforced them. This conservative tide of opinion — strengthened with the emergence of the tea party — showed its power in 2010, with a dramatic midterm election victory for the GOP that Obama himself called a “shellacking.” As the election approached, conservatives accounted for 68 percent of the Republican base, compared with 60 percent eight years earlier. The changing face of America The nation’s demographic and social shifts have also played a role in galvanizing the new bloc. Conservative Republicans are more likely (33 percent) than the public at large (22 percent) to see the growing number of Latinos in America as a change for the worse. Similarly, 46 percent of conservatives see increasing rates of interracial marriage as a positive development, compared with 66 percent of the public overall. During Obama’s first term, ethnocentric attitudes — on immigration, equal rights and interracial dating — grew by 11 percentage points among conservative Republicans but did not increase significantly among any other political or ideological grouping. Some academic surveys found similar partisan polarization on racial measures over the course of Obama’s first term. Race has loomed larger in voting behavior in the Obama era than at any point in the recent past. The 2010 election was the high mark of “white flight” from the Democratic Party, as National Journal’s Ron Brownstein called it — the GOP won a record 60 percent of white votes, up from 51 percent four years earlier. To the conservative base, Obama, as an African American in the White House, may be a symbol of how America has changed. Unease with him sets conservative Republicans apart from other voting blocs — including moderate Republicans, who have hardly been fans of the president. For example, a fall 2011 national survey found 63 percent of conservative Republicans reporting that Obama made them angry, compared with 29 percent of the public overall and 40 percent of moderate Republicans. The conservative media If a values backlash and racial-political polarization helped forge the staunch conservative bloc, the conservative media has reinforced it. The politicization of news consumption is certainly not new; it’s been apparent in more than 20 years of data collected by the Pew Research Center. What is new is a bloc of voters who rely more on conservative media than on the general news media to comprehend the world. Pew found that 54 percent of staunch conservatives report that they regularly watch Fox News, compared with 44 percent who read a newspaper and 30 percent who watch network news regularly. Newspapers and/or television networks top all other news sources for other blocs of voters, both on the right and on the left. Neither CNN, NPR or the New York Times has an audience close to that size among other voting blocs. Conservative Republicans make up as much as 50 percent of the audiences for Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’ Reilly. There is nothing like this on the left. MSNBC’s “Hardball” and “The Rachel Maddow Show” attract significantly fewer liberal Democrats. I see little reason to believe that the staunch conservative bloc will wither away or splinter; it will remain a dominant force in the GOP and on the national stage. At the same time, however, I see no indication that its ideas about policy, governance and social issues will gain new adherents. They are far beyond the mainstream. Any Republican efforts at reinvention face this dilemma: While staunch conservatives help keep GOP lawmakers in office, they also help keep the party out of the White House. Quite simply, the Republican Party has to appeal to a broader cross section of the electorate to succeed in presidential elections. This became apparent last fall. Voters generally agreed with the GOP that a smaller government is preferable to a larger, activist one, and therefore they disapproved of Obamacare. However, exit polls showed popular support for legalizing same-sex marriage and giving illegal immigrants opportunities for citizenship. This combination of conservative and liberal views is typical. To win, both parties must appeal to the mixed values of the electorate. But it will be very hard for the Republican Party, given the power of the staunch conservatives in its ranks. Of course, the Democrats of the 1970s were able to overcome their obstacles. All it took was Watergate, an oil embargo and a presidential pardon of Nixon for Jimmy Carter to secure a thin victory in 1976. Not even the most frustrated Republicans could hope for a similar turn of events. kohuta@pewresearch.org http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-numbers-prove-it-the-republican-party-is-estranged-from-america/2013/03/22/3050734c-900a-11e2-9abd-e4c5c9dc5e90_story.html

  4. Emotions have been running high at screenings of the historical drama "Emperor." The Japanese American coproduction, which opens Friday, revolves around the dilemma Gen. Douglas MacArthur faced as he tried to restore order in post-World War II Japan: Should the country's divine leader, Emperor Hirohito, stand trial and face certain death on war crimes charges? When the producers screened "Emperor" recently in Japan, producer Gary Foster said, many men were in tears as they left the theater. "It was almost a cathartic moment," he said. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-emperor-20130307,0,1871867.story I want to see this and hope it will be playing when I am back in USA. Has anyone heard anything about this?

Me too, usually in the middle of the night or early am hours. I attributed it to software work. If so then that should ease over the weekend. Let me know if it doesn't. We might need a longer proctoscope to diagnose this patient.

  9. That's "my Chico/Antonio" with the mohican. Told ya. He is not twinky, but the nicest guy anyone will ever meet at the sauna. In contrast to any other sauna boy, if you look in his backpack, you will find two or three books he is reading at the same time. Definitely not typical.

    Motels in Rio

There are a ton of motels all over Rio. Right across the street from 117 is the Alameda. Ditto one practically across the street from the Gloria metro stop and another right around the corner from 117 on Rua da Gloria. Years ago I was in a very nice one on the north side of the church on Largo do Machado. I found it a bit kinky to be watch a porn sex scene and it was taking place in a room exactly like one I had been in. And it would be difficult to have two of the same as it has a four sided, glass-enclosed whirlpool/shower in the room, right next to the bed. It was a very cushy place, much like a Hilton. Definitely much nicer rooms than the three I've seen at the Othon Palace, or certainly Atlantico Copacabana. But the questioner was asking for one that was gay-friendly, no dirty looks from the staff, not unpleasant. And since it is not too far from Central and many guys do live in the Zona Norte and come into the city on vans or the train, easy to get to. The second hidden entry through the parking garage would avoid any unintended encounters.

    Rio's New Art Museum

Nope Axiom. The location that you are thinking of is the old site of HELP disco in Copacabana. The Museum of Image and Sound. The new art museum is on the Praca Maua, which is where the cruise ships dock and the northern terminus of Avenida Rio Branco. It is about a block and a half north of Meio Mundo and next to the soon-to-close agglomeration of strip clubs, the old, very tall, being-rehabbed Radio Tower, Federal Police and Justice Ministry headquarters. The more modern half of the museum used to be a hospital. You can get a better feel in the second photo and the third show the new Calatrava museum.

  15. Assuming you are who you say you are which I am beginning to doubt. You just don't get it . If you are a handsome white male in Brazil, there will be people who lust after you because you are different. And yes they will be willing to pay more then they would ever give a Brazilian Boy. This has nothing to do with the market , but the willingness to pay for something that is not normally available. White boys do extremely well in Thailand compared to Thai boys because they are a limited commodity . This has nothing to do with the local market. And I can't help but notice your last few posts on other threads focused on 300-400 short time and no mention of that ridiculous 4000 a night.

  16. DAMN, this is interesting. Long ago while I was at a place that had lots of glory holes in San Francisco, a man approached me and offered me ten dollars to give me a blow job. At first I declined; then I accepted his offer. Damn! Damn! Damn, I am truly glad that I did. He removed his false teeth and sent vibrant chills up and down my spine. He even had me panting heavily. Best blow job that I'd ever had in my life. But your story is better! The receipt of dollars anyway! - - - -

  17. Holy Shit. You too? I was offered 500 USD to suck this old guy off in the sauna. I was also offered 900 USD to fist him. He said my hands were divine inspirations! I did both. Lucky for me, I now have enough money to hire a boy here for myself. About me: older bear, slightly whale like. I guess beauty does come in different shapes and sizes?

Have you bought any sarsaparilla lately? It has gone up mightily also. I have a distinct feeling this is like an international airline ticket. You might have paid $2,000 for your seat and the person next to you only $800. Both seats are on the same aircraft and will get to the destination at the same time. Is one more valuable than the other? No. However, it depends upon when and where and how each bought their tickets. Best regards, RA1

  23. Stayed close to my apartment for the first 4 nights and ordered in from my little Black Book , so it was time to hit some bars and see how slow slow season is. Been a lot of reports of how bad things are and the Bars can't get customers and and therefore don't have many boys. I was not sure what to expect even though I have done this trip more times then I can count. Left my apartment at 845pm and took a Baht Bust to the BoysTown area. For those of you who have never been a baht bus is a small pick up truck with bench seats and they run a circuitous route constantly. For non Thais the rate is 10 baht or about 35cents US. I walked by the 3 Beer Bars which are open air bars and they were pretty slow at 855pm. My first stop Funny Boys which routinely wins best GoGo Bar in Pattaya. I entered and sat down . Immediately I was given hand disinfectant and a cold towel ( a little bit of class here) Ordered a diet coke and it was brought promptly along with some peanuts. Now it was time to look at the stage and since the night was just starting there were 30-35 packed on the stage. My initial impression was that the line up was a little weaker then usual, but keep in mind I am a face person first. Shortly after that they went to their normal rotation of 10 boys on stage at a time. With a little more time to study individuals , my thoughts were something for everyone except real muscular. I saw a boy I knew from my little black book who just started working there , so I called him over and bought him a drink. I had no plans to take a boy home tonight so I tipped him and paid for my drinks and left. Drinks are 150 baht or about $5 US. There were about a dozen customers at the time so not bad at such an early time. Next stop was ToyBoys which has been my favorite the last few trips. Entered at 930pm and about 16 customers and probably 35-40 boys. ( slow I think not) About 1/2 the customers had boys sitting with them and a quick appraisal told me that some of the best had been chosen. Mental note get there early for best selection. There were definitely some fine faces here and probably on average 2 years younger then Funny Boys and with a select few in the 18-19 range. One of the waiters had a Model Face and I focused on him until I saw him sashay away like my good friend OZ. LOL Sorry to Fem for me. HaHaHa. Again something for everyone here including some muscular six pack boys. Many of the boys sitting with customers left with them but customers continued in to replace those who left. Next on to X Boys where I figured I would arrive for the Show at 10pm. Walked in and found the last seat . I counted at least 50 people. The old story give them what they want and they will come. There were some preliminaries like putting golf balls with their cocks and some dance and they got down to the F--- show with 2 couples on stage , on trapeze rings and in the audience and never managed to uncouple as they looked for tips. The show finishes with the Brake Dance Boys which I always like. Drinks here are 180 and 200 baht so a little more but you have to expect that if you are getting an xxx show. Still 1/2 the price of Bangkok. I stuck my head in a few other bars and they were dead with only 4-6 dancers and no customers. So the Bars that give you lots of boys are doing just fine and the others complain it is slow season and they can't get boys and there are no customers. In those 3 Bars I noticed very little difference from January High Season.

  25. I left off with one day to go in Bangkok. I had some shopping to do for little things and some I phone and i pad accessories, so it was on to MBK. This was a very easy trip on the SkyTrain fro the Hotel . I have been remiss for those who have never visited explaining about the SkyTrain. It is like an above ground subway and it goes directly to many of the Major Malls and sightseeing spots. It is spotless, has cold a/c and runs often. It is also fairly cheap. The only negative being is that it stops running at midnight i believe. Now taxis are plentiful, new and very cheap by Western standards or by just about any standards in the world. The only problem being the traffic congestion. You have to pick your times to use a taxi or you could be sitting in one for a very long time. Anyways I arrived at MBK and as I mentioned before this is a mall where most of the shops are 60-100 sq ft and many less then that. All privately owned and usually the prices are about as good as you can get in the famous Patpong Market after you spend a lot of time haggling. And MBK is air conditioned , so it can be a much more pleasant experience. I finished shopping and headed back to my Hotel where some delayed jet lag was catching up with me and I had an early pick up in the morning for my trip to Pattaya. The next morning my driver was their promptly at 830am. To me this one of the great bargains in Thailand. I was picked up in a nice 4dr sedan with pillows and good a/c for about a 2 hour drive to Pattaya. The cost about $40 US. Hell a taxi from LGA to Manhattan is about 20 minutes and costs close to $50. Anyways I always stay in an apartment building on the water and the first 2 photos are day and night on my balcony. It is a studio suite with everything. Full kitchen, fast internet, 46" Flatscreen, large walk in shower, big comfortable bed and lots of mirrors. (hehe) The cost about $67 US per night. It also happens to be directly adjacent to the largest mall in Pattaya and the Hilton Hotel which I have added photos of. Those escalators are at beach level and take you to the 2nd floor.Although not as big and fancy as Siam Paragon in Bangkok, it is still very nice and beachfront. You can even go to the movies and sit outside under the stars with your sweetheart. Pattaya is quite different from Bangkok. It is not a World Class city by any means but it is a World Class City for prostitutes of all genders and I do mean all. They are trying to change it to family friendly and have gotten a large influx of Russians as well as other Asians who have spent lots of money on new Condo buildings . But famed Walking Street is about mile long with GoGo Bars with Ladies on both sides. There are 2 Gay areas , one is known as BoysTown and and the other Sunee Plaza. BoysTown is 7 minutes away from my Hotel and encompasses 3 streets with GoGo Bars and Massage places. Now to be perfectly proper BoysTown is really only 1 street but everyone refers to the next 2 streets as being BoysTown. I never counted them but I would guess about 15 GoGo Bars. There are 3 open air bars where people got to watch the traffic and have drinks . The waiters are available and this is all on the original BoysTown street. Some of the Bars have nightly shows and at least 1 Bar has a live F--- show. Sunee is a bit of a different animal in that it has a lot of open air bars usually referred to as Beer Bars. Again the waiters can be taken home. There are also some GoGo Bars . Sunee has a well deserved reputation of having underage boys available in their GoGo Bars. Most of this has been cleaned up but it is still there and you must be careful to check id's. 18 is the only safe age. Some of the other photos are of Beach Road along the water. Believe me this is not a great beach, especially since Thailand has some of the worlds great beaches. But it is a Beach Town with a lot of action. You can see the motorbikes lined up in one of the photos and this is a preferred mode of transportation for the tourists . There are literally thousands of motorbikes for rent by the day, week or month. The last photo is my favorite boy from last time and I apologize that it is the only boy photo. But the first week I usually spend all my time with known boys. I know what I am going to get and they know what I like. The one in the photo definitely knows. Another few days I will probably meet some new boys and I will try to post some photos. Remember lots more information to help you plan a trip on www.gaythailand.com
