  1. Today was the first day I have felt like getting out of the hotel. I knew I wanted to see a few things in Salvador before I go to Rio next week so I decided to venture out to the old area called the Historic Center of Salvador or as the locals say, The Pelourinho. It is an area that is in the western area of the city and it was the main part of the city during the Portuguese Colonial Period. There are many churches and historical moments dating back from the 17th through the 19th centuries. Since Salvador was the first capital of Brazil and the city is one of the oldest in the "New World" the area has amazing significance to the people here. It is also where the center of the slave trade into Brazil was located and thus why you see some very dark black bodies. Salvador is known for his beautiful black men and I have yet to take a ride in a taxi where my mouth was not dropping at the sight of such beauties. I ended up meeting a nice guy today and having lunch with him. He was fun to talk to and we exchanged numbers. He wanted to visit me tonight but as I just over the flu, I did not want to risk him getting sick so I told him I could not tonight but perhaps on Sunday night. He is a VERY gay boy and not a money guy from what I can tell. I think he just liked the attention I gave him when I saw him and as we talked, he noticed I couldn't take my eyes off his ass. What a lovely monument it is! Our lunch was at a por kilo place. These places are all over Brazil and it is you pay for what you eat. This specific place was one where all the food was home grown in the area. It was reasonable and tasty and I am glad I went there with him for lunch. The rest of my afternoon was spent walking around the art shops and street vendors looking at artwork and soaking in the scenery that is unique to Salvador. I will say that the thing that surprised me the most was there was a police station on just about every street I visited. Not even a few hundred feet away from the last one. This tells me that perhaps the area is not safe or that it is very safe. In either case, I felt fine walking around and shopping and yes, Firecat, I took my camera for you. LOL There were plenty of great inside art shops but I also loved the outside street graffiti. There were tourists everywhere and artists on display on the street along with a few pack of dogs walking around. Everyone just seemed to be doing their own thing. After a few hours of the heat and sun, my body recovering from the flu I just had to head back to the hotel to drink a lot of cold water and relax. It was a fun day and one that I really enjoyed. Salvador is beautiful and this part was divine!

  2. I went to the Barra Lighthouse today. It is at the end of the Barra peninsula and housed inside an ancient Portuguese fort, Barra Lighthouse (Farol da Barra). It is a prime spot to view the spectacular sunsets and views across All Saints Bay and to watch the boats go by, sailing boats float and men out on the rocks fishing for food. I climbed to the top of the lighthouse (10R) and saw the museum and took some time for some photos. It was very enjoyable. Inside the lighthouse and youll find a small museum filled with maps, charts and artifacts many of which were recovered from sunken ships transporting the slaves during the colonial period. There were several beach areas nearby and I enjoyed watching the families play in the waves for a bit. But, it was getting a bit rainy and wet so I headed back to hotel for rest. At night, I decided I at least wanted to see a few of the saunas. I also had to go to Citibank before my trip to the Sea Turtle Sanctuary tomorrow. So, I hired a driver for the night and took off. Thermas Olympus | Rua Tuiuti, 183 | 71 329 0060 Olympus is small, quiet, basic, and has astonishingly beautiful boys who give great massages (and other delights). It isn't packed, though, so you can basically have your choice and even negotiate the rate. Tonight when I went, there were only 3 boys there. 2 were extremely hot but the owner wanted me to leave all my clothes in the locker and with only 3 people there, I wanted to keep my wallet and money with me. It was not going to happen, so I left. There was no fee to look around and see the boys. They did make clear this this was not a sauna but a house of prostitution and the boys were working boys and they wanted customers and not lookers. LOL Planetario 11 | Rua José Duarte, 11 | 71 3321 4511 | http://www.planetario11.com.br/ This club, known to locals as simply P11, looks unassuming from the outside but inside is a huge sauna packed with working boys they say if you can't get laid here, you can't get laid anywhere. Stick around for the shows and other entertainment, ranging from drag to strippers to DJs. Tonight was a Saturday night and there were about 35 boys there. 90 percent of them were very dark black boys. A few lighter color guys and 2 twinks. The vast majority of guys had 6 packs and were beautiful. The average age was 22-28. I talked to about 8 boys and none of them spoke English. However, they were all nice and friendly and loved to show me their massive cocks. All said they were not gay. 5 of them said they were both Active and Passive. The two twinky boys were both active and passive. LOL The place is big and it comprises 3 levels with dark rooms, movie rooms, a big theater screen, a bar and several relaxing rooms and one smoking room. There were plenty of customers there. The place is hard to find so before you go print out a map for your driver as most won't find it easily. In fact, when you go anywhere in the city, I suggest you mark the spot on a map to show them. Not one taxi I have seen has GPS and they are not like the Sao Paulo taxis and just roll down the window and ask where something is. They just keep driving and driving and trying to find it. The area where the saunas were is far away from my hotel and not in as nice an area as the tourist area. But, I never felt uncomfortable. However, I did keep the same driver for the night. He drove me to the Citibank and then to a few of the saunas. The cost for the night was 100R.

  3. Letmeworshipit ,You will have no problem finding nice cocks to suck in Thailand . That thing about Asians being small is just ridiculous. You will see all sizes in Thailand including some of the bigger ones you have ever seen. Axiom2001 , As far as Desert speaking English. His English is pretty good . He used to work in a bank but I think he has become so popular that is no longer the case.

  4. There are two cultural shows that are NOT to be missed either. One is held at the art center or museum; the other is in the colonial part of town. I've gone to both, twice to the latter one. Also, there is a "drumming party" also held by a popular musical group in old town as well. Sorry I can't remember its name though it's rather popular, but with your recent health problemo, I'd give this a second and third thought. You don't want anything to impair your ear situation any further. I thank you for those gorgeous photos. Do take some of the elevator and the bunda statue which is outside of it in old town. Try to go to the "AFrican MUseum" if possible, too! {Written on Saturday morn/California time 11:42A}

  6. "Letmeworshipit," I truly, truly enjoyed your read. Not only did you cite some areas related to culture, etc., your post has encouraged me to venture back to Santo Domingo and the Dominican Republic again. I was last there in 2005 on a gay tour and had a so, so time, part of this due to an injury I encountered which put me out of commission for some 8 weeks afterwards. But again, muchas gracias! I felt myself engaged in the words here!

  9. I met this young man named Jacques (sounded like Jackson) at a local venue and he spoke decent English and we chatted for a long time and I asked him for lunch. He agreed and we spent an hour just chatting about New York, Salvador and travel. We ate at a local por kilo place he wanted to eat at that has all organic produce and nothing is cooked that is not from their farm. It was nice and tasty food and the bill was about 65R for both of us. A very nice young man. More on my day a bit later but thought I'd share a quick photo.

  10. I am not going to try to compete with the fabulous travelogue OZ has been giving us on Brazil , because I know I would finish 2nd. But I am going to try to show more photos of the wonderful country of Thailand and I will try to add some photos of the beautiful boys when I can. Having spent as much time in Thailand as I have , many of the boys I see are repeats and photos have been posted in the past but I will do my best. I left from Seattle and flew on ANA for the first time. It only takes a short time to notice the difference in service and especially smiles of a Japanese crew vs. a USA crew. No comparison in the level of service , the quality of food etc as compared to DL or United who I have always flown. Arriving into Tokyo was exciting on this flight since they had 40-50 mph cross winds and many airplanes could not land. On our first pass we got down to about 10 ft above the ground and he realized he couldn't make it and poured on the power and went around. I'm not sure how many people in the airplane realized how close we were to a disaster. I was in the first row of First Class(upgraded) and I am a pilot. I was scared. For a few minutes it looked like we were going to Osaka which of course would have been a mess for me in continuing on to Bangkok. After a few minutes I realized from the terrain that we were actually making another approach to Tokyo which the pilot never said anything about. He made it this time (barely) but believe me he earned his salary for that landing. Naturally everything was backed up so my flight to Bangkok was 2 hours late departing but arrived in Bangkok at 1am I am spending 4 nights in Bangkok before going to Pattaya, well actually 3 1/4 because I didn't get to the Hotel until after 2 am. Same Hotel that I posted photos last time so will not repeat , but a 700 sq foot 1 bedroom for $140 a night . That $140 won't get you much in Brazil or a lot in Europe and of course you can get some very nice rooms in Bangkok for $60-80. I think many people who have not travelled extensively outside the USA and especially to Asia may have a feeling that Thailand is sort of a step up from a 3rd world country. Nothing could be further from the truth. Bangkok is a world Class City with all that you would expect to find in New York, London etc. Sightseeing options are numerous with fabulous Palaces, Temples etc . For those who like shopping , the malls in Bangkok compare favorably to any in the world. Movie theaters where the ticket and popcorn and beverage combined cost 1/2 the price of a ticket in USA . There is really nothing you cannot find in Bangkok and that includes boys of any type for a price that is a joke compared to escorts in the USA. Massage parlors where you can get a great massage and a Happy Ending if you so choose for less then 1/2 the cost of a massage only in USA. I took a few photos of the #1 mall in Bangkok ( Siam Paragon)IMHO. Not sure you can tell the level of this mall but no money has been spared and they have only the Best names in Retail here and the eye candy is also great. I tried to show one of the largest Bookstores in Thailand and around the corner was a Maserati Dealership and of course this is on the 4th floor. The last few photos are of the biggest Food Court I have ever seen and there is just no way these photos can truly show what is available here. You could walk here for an hour and never pass the same place again. Also on this floor is a high end Grocery Store with a lot of Western Foods . The last photo to keep you interested is my desert for the afternoon. This young man is actually better looking then the photo. 2 hours with him for $65. It does not get much better.

  11. Gay Vancouver – Experience The Great Outdoors At BoyToy.com we believe that our members like a little bit of variety in their gaycations. While it's wonderful to sit on a beach in Thailand during the day and hit the boy bars at night, that's not the only type of vacation you want. Sometimes you want to see a bit of history and culture and head over to Vienna or Paris. Other times, you want to have an active outdoors vacation. And that's fine. In fact, my manly men, big old bears, turgid twinks and sexy silver foxes, that's why today I'm going to talk to you about one of the best places in the gay world for a vacation if you are into the great outdoors – Vancouver Canada. Vancouver doesn't get a lot of talk in the gay press, and that's a shame – since it's so gay-friendly that it has the highest number of gay men of any Canadian city. There is lots to do, it's perfectly acceptable to hold hands or smooch a dude in public and, like Toronto, the city is incredibly gay-positive. And, there is so much to do. Because it's located on the water, but surrounded by mountains, you can literally windsurf in the mornings, then go snowboarding in the afternoon of the same day. So you can, in essence, combine a summer and winter vacation in one trip. How fun is that? Running and biking are also very popular, particularly along the Seawall, a great route that takes you through beautiful parks with striking water views. There are also a bunch of golf courses, and renting speedboats is also very popular. All in all, if you want to do something other than a rent boy, Vancouver is a great gay destination. The only downside for some people is that the beaches tend to have rocks rather than sand at the water's edge. You'll get used to it, but it can be a distraction if you are used to sand with your sun. The Gayborhoods Just like Toronto, Vancouver has two distinct gayborhoods. The most prominent one is the West End, which is gay in general, but has a super-gay subsection called Davie Village. The village is marked with giant rainbow flag signs, and nearly every business in the village also displays the rainbow. When you are in Davie Village, you may feel like you are in an alternate universe where straight people don't exist – and that's not always a bad thing, if you know what I mean. When there, you'll want to check out Little Sister's Book And Art Emporium – one of the oldest gay book stories in North America. You'll have access to free maps, and magazines detailing what's going on with gay life in Vancouver at the moment. Many bars and clubs also leave coupons here for free drinks and discounted entry, so it should certainly be your first stop when you get into town and want to get oriented. The other gayborhood is Commercial Drive. The main advantage Commercial has over Davie Village is that the restaurants are much better – so if you want a good meal before a night of sucking and fucking, Commercial Drive may be the destination for you. The downside of Commercial Drive is that it has a much higher percentage of lesbians and lesbian-themed bars and clubs than Davie Village. So, if it bothers you to be in a part of town where the majority of the gay population has vaginas, then you'll probably want to spend most of your time in Davie Village. Saunas Both Davie Village and Commercial Drive have a ton of gay saunas. They are not very expensive, and tend to attract a mixed crowd – everyone from college kids to dudes in their 70s. They tend to not attract very many rent boys, but there is generally enough of a variety of man meat. While we generally don't endorse specific places in these travel guides, we have to recommend Steamworks, which is actually a chain of gay saunas that have theme nights, dark rooms, dance parties and the type of stuff you'd generally associate with a club rather than a sauna. It's a somewhat unique experience to be in a corporate-owned gay sex sauna franchise. Gay Life In Vancouver Canadians are so damned civilized compared to America when it comes to the gays. You can get married in Vancouver. Gay escorts are also completely legal, and there are multiple gay brothels. Beyond that, gay escorts can and do advertise legally online, in gay magazines, and even in local newspapers. Being in Vancouver or Toronto is the closest you'll get to being treated exactly the way straight people are in most of the world. This alone is reason enough to take a visit and contribute some cash to their local economy. July is when Vancouver holds their pride parade. There are also multiple fetish parades, gay and lesbian film festivals, drag shows, strip bars and everything else you can imagine in your kinky little brains. Tourist Things Because Vancouver is a very young city, you won't see the types of churches and traditional tourist attractions you find in Europe or the Far East. But there are still some fun things you can write home about. The Granville Island Brewery is awesome for anyone who likes beer. And because of the large Chinese population, Vancouver is known for having the best dim sum restaurants in North America. The Museum of Anthropology is also popular. Let's Do Vancouver! Vancouver is very nice to the gays, so let's reward them for being cool – I'd love to fly up there and meet you by the hotel pool! We might even have time to snowboard before we hit the clubs or at least site by the fire and watch our boytoy's hit the slopes. cc boytoy.com 2013

  13. Check the times for low tide to swim at the piscinas. And don't forget the old fort south of town. And look out for Yvete. She has a home right near the sea turtles project. Maybe half a kilometer in distance. Perhaps the dune buggies to Diogo? And super super ice creams.

As I leave on Monday, I don't think I'll be able to see him but I did try and he sounds like a good guy but he may just not have been available for this week.
