    • I attended a Pride luncheon at my company where the guest speaker was a professor from USC.  The presentation had "Stonewall" in the title, so I signed up.  Sounded interesting.  I sat up front.  Afterwards, the audience (mostly young folks) peppered the professor with questions that cornered him, how he was behind the times and didn't really get what LGBTQ+ was all about.  I felt sorry for him.  I remember the look in his eyes, that perhaps he'd wasted his time.  These youngsters decided the professor was just another old guy, from a bygone era.  But was that justification to make him feel like he was on trial? Another popular term often used as frequently as "woke", one that I prefer, is "emotional intelligence".  Do the folks tossing around the "woke" term need to bone up on what "emotional intelligence" is?  That a professor from USC took time to visit our campus and then had to put up with all these young "woke" whippersnappers' questions was pretty stupid.  These kids were not using "emotionally intelligence".  Can we begin to understand how society is getting tired of being on the defensive, like how the professor felt after speaking at the Pride luncheon? I found an interesting article, linked below, discussing where the term "woke" originated.  Stay woke  was a term of encouragement among southern Blacks and was part of their lingo for communicating in white society, in the old South.  Young folks nowadays might not understand that original meaning, how it referred to Black people remaining alert to racial discrimination and violence, e.g  men in white shirts burning crosses on your lawn during the night, or tossing young Black men in jail for looking at white women.  "Woke" did not refer to awareness of every new progressive idea that comes along.  An example could be the progressive idea to defund the police.  Many that live in the inner city count on the police for some basic level of law and order.  Defund the police was one more example how the progressive Democrats are seen as fucking useless to some Blacks here in LA, Blacks who are decedents of those people in Alabama and Mississippi where the term stay "woke" had its historical usage with its more narrow meaning. Knowing the racial origin of "staying woke", is it sad and ironic that now in the deep South, the word "woke" is being banned in Florida by Desantis?    Is it also ironic how "woke" has evolved from a term of empowerment and awareness into a pejorative term used against others, how they are not "woke"?   Perhaps each of us should stay more "woke" and stop pointing fingers at other people.  Or if you must, than try using some "emotional intelligence" when questioning others' worldview.  An example, could be how I believe allowing M-to-F trans athletes to complete against women assigned female at birth is a sports ethics question that deserves more careful thought, and less intervention by politicians.   However, the fact that I would suggest it is a "fairness" issue risks being shouted down by what DeSantis refers to as the woke mob.   Next thing you know, Hillary will be lumping me in with the basket-of-deplorables.  Please don't cancel me guys.   The image is from the article in The Conversation, Bettman/Getty images       All that said, I feel you guys. Don't give up.  🧡💙💚❤️ Stay woke!!

    • I usually have no trouble in picking up guys anywhere in the world. Even Iraq, where I had more cock than I could handle. But a recent trip to Gambia drew a blank. Horrible little country, covered in litter with very dirty beaches and mediocre hotels.  I did visit Sierra Leone in the 80s, where there were numerous possibilities, i'd be interested to know if there was still fun readily available?
    • Another question although this thread may not be the best option  Would it be possible to buy PrEP (Truvada Emtricitabin & Tenifovir Disoproxil) over the counter? I am aware it is available free from the Public Health outlets but not sure if tourists also have access to and also that would require LFTs and Renal profile    I tried to contact customer service of a few pharmacies but didn't work with with their automated responses coupled with my poor Portuguese Thanks
