    • @Tomontheroad Consider Prestige --  another place where you're likely to get a good massage plus some non-penetrative fun. I say "likely" because my understanding is that Prestige does not have an in-house trainer (at least not on a regular basis) and the boys I've met had received their training elsewhere before joining Prestige, so it can happen that a few of them are not as good as one would expect.  The places on Silom Soi 6 (see exceptions further down) are also good bets; I have generally been satisfied with the standard of massage, and as far as I can recall, all my visits to the these places had extras added on. However, it always involves in-room negotiation re the rates. Some members here dislike having to negotiate. However, there are two exceptions with Silom Soi 6. One is Prime - no chance of extras. The other is 9-teen. In my one and only visit, extras were offered but I declined. The massage was not great either.
    • Could you tell us something about the traffic situation around your hotel in Petchaburi Road? Few members of this forum stay there and so we have very little information in this regard. The one time I went to a hotel in the area (perhaps 20 years ago) was to meet a friend for dinner; he was staying there. And I found the traffic to be very frustrating. I often stay in hotels along the Sukhumvit stretch, and the traffic is intolerable too. Grab drivers don't want to be around this area, so it's a bummer. Fortunately, there is the BTS line running the length of Sukhumvit Road and there is the interchange with the MRT line at Asok/Sukhumvit. However. the Petchaburi Road area has no rail transport (unless you're close enough to Makkasan and Petchaburi stations). Has it been a problem getting from your hotel to the fun places?

    • Ohh no, I would never confuse Iran with the US or the genocidal Israeli regime. I think they are far worse. Do we really want to talk about the killing of the native Americans, the treatment of Black slaves, the killing and brutality towards Blacks and immigrants today, the possibly hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who have been murdered or displaced? I regularly speak to Iranians, currently and consistently, not "a few years ago". Many of the young ones study in my country and live in apartments and houses that I rent out. I often take my tenants and lodgers out for a meal and none of them have vilified their leadership as you have described. Just last week I held an iftar feast for all my tenants at a local hotel, some fifty of them, Muslim and non-Muslim, and most of the Iranian students were worried for their families and friends back home if the US and the genocidal Israeli regime were to attack. None said they they wanted an intervention by the US or its Zionist butt buddy. My whatsapp has been buzzing non-stop in the last 24 hours as they seek a big brother to vent their worries and a shoulder to cry on. I try to do what I can but I've also engaged a mental health counsellor for them at my expense. As it is, quite a few of them are already prone to PTSD as a result of years of sanctions imposed by the US at the behest of the genocidal Israeli regime. I've also been to Iran several times and stayed in the houses of Iranians who are great friends of mine. A beautiful country - second only to Turkiye in my opinion - and a very hospitable people. Sure, there's some discontentment here and there but none have expressed the absolute hatred of their government as you've described. They feel change, if any, should come from within and in their own time and way. Incidentally, political and government leaders everywhere tend to live in affluent areas and upmarket housing. Do Thai politicians live in the slums of Klong Toey; do British MPs live in council flats? I think colonials need to remove their pith helmets and get rid of that misplaced and misguided saviour mentality. It didn't work 200 years ago; it's not going to work now.
    • Fair point. To be clear, I’m not saying flying backwards was definitely the cause. It was just a thought after the fact, trying to explain an experience I’ve never had before. I’ve flown lie-flat business class many times and never had this issue. This was the first time I simply couldn’t find a relaxed position at all, no matter how I adjusted the seat. Whether that was the rear-facing layout, the specific seat design, or a combination of things, I honestly don’t know.
