    • You still have not clarified the untruth you stated. You have merely copped out.Ā  "A long history" What utter rubbish! Well I did send you several PMs and you wrote one one-line reply that failed to answer the points I raised. Yet again you lied! The member you quoted has not been "driven away from this forum". He has been reading this Board almost daily as can be seen from the list of on-line members at the foot of each page. You failed to read the background and you came to an assumption - an incorrect assumption which is obvious if you had actually bothered to read posts in some detail (which you did not). Further, you quote "various altercations"! This, since you seem not to realise, is a chat room and members have different views. Differences of opinion are often the norm. Or did you not realise that? As you have noted above, you have been a member of this Board for about six months and made less than 170 posts. When did you start reading it and paying attention to the posts? I have been a member for more than 15 years and made 7,048 posts. In my earlier incarnation on this Board i probably made at least another 1,000. When did you start reading and paying attention to the posts on this forum? "Real experience on the ground"? That is also laughable. I first visited Thailand regularly after being posted to Hong Kong in 1979. I had visitd at least 50 times before moving to Bangkok to live in 2002. "Real experience" Ha! True, I have criticised other posters from time to time as they have criticised me. If you can't stand up to criticism, there is no point joining any chat room because it will always be there in one form or another. This is not a spinsters' tea party! On the other hand, I have written a huge volume of posts that have been particularly well received.Ā  I did make one total error by repeating you tube clickbait that has nothing to do with the issue at hand in this series of posts. But in your postings you have chosen to make erroneous statements without any form of apology because they were and continue to be wrong. I have no issue with criticism, but when it is wrong some form of acknowledgement of that fact is a courtesy to other members - unless you wish to be known as someone who merely lies.
    • Yes, the site in Pratamnak Soi 6 is currently undergoing renovations. It looks spacious in a garden-type setting and I've attached a few pics that @bkkmfj2648Ā took.Ā  I don't know why he picked that location but I can understand why he didn't choose Jomtien Complex. Unlike Silom Soi 4 which has become sort of an international, permanent Mardi Gras-like street attracting gays and straights and everything else in between of all ages, Jomtien Complex is still very much a niche market of elderly white men with twinks that may appear underage to the unknowing and scare off potential customers. Moreover, the presence of illegal workers in the area would invite police raids which could further deter customers. I'm aware that there are F&B outlets in the complex that have had some success but G's has built their reputation elsewhere and they probably wouldn't want to alienate any part of their extensive customer base and thus decided on a neutral, "clean" site. Pattaya has many middle class expat families who would probably patronise a restaurant like G's, as would families on holiday, and I have a feeling the concept of the restaurant in Pratamnak would be a little different than the one in Silom Soi 4. For example, they may even have a little play area for kids or a stage for G-rated (pun intended) performances. My only wish is that he would adopt a few more strays and let them roam the grounds. 😻😸😽
    • Karoline Leavitt - she's got a bad case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. She's mostly deranged when apologizing for the Incompetent-in-Chief at the White House.Ā  She probably got a bonus for spelling her name with a KĀ

    • I just arrived in Bangkok on Friday (for work so nothing to report). The immigration queue was one of the longest I have ever seen.Speaking to the gentleman in the line ahead of me, Ā appears flights from Middle East have now started running again after several days delay, which is causing a high volume of arrivals. This gentleman came from Sweden via a transit in Dubai on Emirates. He said he was rebooked from his original flight with a delay of 3 days.Ā  The immigration staff were flustered which made them curt, unhelpful and bordering on rude. Huge confusion over who was allowed to use the priority lane. Many queue jumpers tried to get into priority. After seeing the queue I initially regretted not booking the AOT express service. But after a while they gave up filtering passengers and just waved everyone into the priority lane to ease the massive queue. Passengers in wheelchairs or accompanied by the AOT butler were forced right to the back. There was outright discrimination, a young guy who was clearly poor and badly educated had a badly booked transit which required him to exit immigration, collect his bags and then re-check in. He didn’t know if he should go through the regular immigration channels, go through transit or how to complete TDAC which requires stating length of stay and accommodation. We all witnessed immigration staff shouting at him, hustling him back into the queue without listening and refusing to provide any clarity on his situation. He was almost in tears thinking he would miss his next flight. Swedish gentleman and another Asian gentleman banded together to help him out and he was finally escorted through.Ā  To be fair, they tried to keep things moving at a snappy pace although it still took an hour. I booked an airport pick up after hearing about taxi fuel shortages at Suvarnabhumi and my pick up has to call to find out if I was coming because I was so late. I wasn’t worried about not actually being able to get a taxi for a ride into central Bangkok, but was concerned the taxi line might be extremely long. After facing down the immigration line I was glad to jump straight into my pick up.Ā  For anyone arriving between now and Songkran, do have your TDAC and other necessary documents ready, and book advance transport.Ā  Ā
